I remember back then when I saw that AIG and Wigwe reduced their shares after the acquisition or merger with Diamond bank. It thus lends credence that both profited greatly from the deal. Access bank shareholders were badly shortchanged in the process. Looking at the 2018 audited financial statements again this morning, the shareholdings both direct and indirect have been revised to obliterate the position they had when the financial statements was first published on the NSE website. I know that some stocks are very volatile and good ground for investors to make good money, but I look at the long term effects of certain actions.
TLAX:

Well, like they say "Not only should Caesar's wife be above board, she must also be seen to be above board". The timing is the key issue.

The truth however is that if you dig deep you will see that Aig is also likely selling Access Shares. The duo are trying to raise money to pay for the PFA subsidiary of AIICO. Why they can't raise a loan to do so is what i don't understand.

The headline should read 99.999m and it should be taken back to when the 2018 audited financial statements were released when over a billion units of shares of his and friend, AIG reduced significantly.

There was no disclosure regarding the Zenith Bank shares sale. It there suggests that it was not a director or Jim Ovia that sold. But in the case of Access Bank, it is the bank's MD/ CEO that is selling. He should be able to raise the cash without selling his shares. The more I think about it the more worried I will get if I am a shareholder in the bank. The focus on the bank shouldn't be seen as an attack but to wake up those that have become emotionally attached to the stock. Let them think about it again and again. But like I have been saying, the bank should be alright.
Mcy56:

I just dont get something here.
When one director was busy offloading Millions, if not billions of Zenith some days ago, you guys kept holding the faith and didnt fear.
You all saw it as a bargain opportunity, what makes the Access sale now different?
Is it because the Zee director did not announce his own or what?
I'm just not understanding...............
OK. Access' price may go down small cos of the volume sale, but may not be that bad as we may think.
Let me come and go and read you guys reasons for the panic anyway.......but I see no panic so far............ grin

But I still believe that people should wait and see it play out. The Bank helped CBN to cover up a big hole, it will not be right if they are thrown to the gutters in the day of their own troubles if at all there is any trouble.

When he buys we are expected to know.
We did not know when he bought Diamond at N1.00 because he was not a director of Diamond, but whenever he starts buying Access Bank shares again, he is expected to inform NSE.

Does he really need more shares of Access Bank, when his direct and indirect holdings is still about 1.4 billion shares after he sold 55 million units last week

UCAP's performance this year cannot be stellar. I think that the coy should be able to pay 30k as a dividend for 2019. The current price is already close to 10% yield. New entrants should watch it.
Bomboclad:
I personally would like to see the magic UCAP would do in the short term. People buy it generally for dividend but without some new result (4Q - which i predict would be flat), i dont see any significant upward movement short-term (2 - 3 weeks).

Oga OGG, there is a term referred to as "excess tax dividend". This occurs where a coy declared a dividend that is higher than the taxable profit. For instance, Zenith declared a dividend of N100b and the taxable profit of Zenith for the year is just N45b. This is so because the banks have many income variant that are excluded from tax. When this scenario occurs, Zenith will be required by law to pay an excess tax of (100-45)*30%. This is what has been abolished.

It is the way the seminar is being promoted sometimes. The stock market is a risky environment and it requires a certain level of financial intelligence and mentoring to be able to navigate. If you are to be a resource person at such seminars, I believe your approach is going to be different from the laulau and motivational speakers. I therefore will encourage many that have the time and resources to go and attend the seminar. I have a very good friend, who is older than me in age. His new motto in stock market investment is no more loss. He has developed art in investing that purely focuses on Patience if the stock pick has ticked all his investment boxes. I am learning from him too.
Valueinvestor:
Dem go advertise tire.unfortunately what most of them dont understand is you cant become an expert with just 1 or 2 day seminar, they make you feel you can know all in 1 or 2 days.seminars are basically .meant for sensitization. To be well grounded in this business, one needs years of personal experience and research.

Mr Obabolujo has really done his bit in creating more awareness for stock market trading and investing. We should also not relent in playing our own role too. It amazes me that Zenith, Gtbank and a couple of other good stocks listed on the NSE do not have up to 1m shareholders. The financial illiteracy is too high in the Nation. I must admit that the actions of some players in the market have indeed been a disincentive to many but let us continue to encourage more people to create and make wealth. NSE is a wealth creation and preservation centre.

Good morning Sir. Seminars are good if you can attend. there is never an end to learning. You must be a learned and an informed investor to be able to understand the write-ups on the platform. please if you have money, go and attend seminars and learn more.
Chibuking81:

The seminar and their material will only be for those who don't know about this forum. These our stock pick alert, from page one to its current page is greater than most materials, and no seminar will supersede the discussion we are making here everyday.

If this page is to be monetise, it worth millions, and if entrance fee is to be charge, good amount of money will be charge. But freely we get and freely we give, most of us spend money on data for research on what that will benefit all.

Good morning friends.

We are here waiting to buy at whatever price it goes down to. The reference must have been to today's closing price. If a heavyweight shareholder needs money and the stock is the only thing that can bring out the money. The price can continue to crash irrespective of the fundamentals of the company. Zenith coming down from the current price is a win for me.

Some of those stocks have appreciated in price over a period of some weeks, pull back or profit taking is expected.
Try and set your "Stop Loss', so that if it continues to fall (not saying it may continue) you can sell at minimal loss and buy later, when there's indication that market will go up again.
You've started learning small small. grin
