It cannot be Mobil again. They have changed their name to double 11 plc. The owners of NIPCO bought controlling shares in Mobil Plc when Mobil Nigeria Plc parent company divested back then. The company holds quite a number of properties it acquired during the purchase and if they have decided to acquire more properties to diversify the revenue base of the company. That is a good move.

hope this helps.

The challenge I have is that the interest income will be badly affected going into the year 2020 if the CBN continues with the madness playing out in the fixed income space. It is good for serious accumulation.

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 5:10pm On Dec 15, 2019
I have been searching through the news to know the companies that really signed the 20 years deal with NLNG. is it NAOC or OER. NAOC is the operator of most of Oil assets where OER is a joint venture partner. The way these guys push out news to prop up the market price is way way beyond me. Sometimes I tempted to agree that investing in stocks quoted on NSE is like gambling.

I think that former Chairman Dr Lekan Are stayed too long in that coy. The business may die in the next few years if care is not taken.
bigjay01:

My average is currently N2, i'll begin averaging down to the 1.5 region at the slightest sign of overkill.

How many companies listed on NSE issues profit warnings? even the ones on live support!

Speaks +vely about the management
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 8:48am On Dec 06, 2019
When I saw the profit warning, I also went into panic mode but I checked on the figures for 2018 and 2017 and Q2 2019. The turnover for the 3 periods are as follows 2.3b, 1.8b, and 1.65b. How they ended up budgeting 2.6b turnover for Q3 was totally ridiculous. As of Nov 2019, the turnover is 1.8b meaning that Q3 2019 may likely end around 1.85b, higher than full year 2017. It must also be stated that the expenses of the coy have gone up and the profit for 2020 Q4 may likely end in a marginal loss or lower profit of 109m declared in full-year 2019. 50kobo will be overkill as UPDC and many other bad stocks are not even selling below N1. If it gets to N1 or below, I will try and buy more. But the price must definitely go lower between now and next week.
RabbiDoracle:

Did I make a mistake? Is 50kobo too high? What's your take then?

People will be scared and sell.

Madam, what do you want people to talk about the downstream sector that is seriously challenged? The owner that paid 66b plus and the market value is not even up to quarter of that. His focus is on recouping his investments. Majority shareholders in companies are not bothered about the market price Ditto with CCNN

Thanks.
Mpeace:
Non-interest income came in strongly during the quarter (+60.5% QoQ to N12.3 billion), largely bolstered by reversal of c.N4.8 billion relating to provisions for litigation deemed no longer necessary. Other components of fee income were relatively flat QoQ.

Adjusting for the impact of the N4.8 billion litigation-related reversal, which we believe is non-recurring, FCMB would have made a loss of c. N1.5 billion in Q3'19. This is concerning, in our view.https://www.proshareng.com/news/Stock---Analyst-Updates/FCMB-Group-Plc-9M-19---Earnings-Falter,-/48243

FCMB result is not good. But the "promoters" will not let it fall. Not without a fight.
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 6:03pm On Nov 29, 2019
I agree Sir. But with Oga Loco deciding to sell, I cannot guarantee that it will go north oooo
Calebbold:

I would advice everyone with FCMB shares to watch the direction of the price carefully on Monday before deciding whether to hold/sell.

In q3 2017, FCMB declared a PAT of about 5.5b but yet the price rose till about 3.50 naira. But in this case, the PAT is even better.

So do not rush in taking any decision.

Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by rebekah2011(m): 5:51pm On Nov 29, 2019

The coy had sold its juicy unit to Suntory Beverages. The coy plan to hand over the production of most of its products to Fidson healthcare in the next few years. GSK has made its future plans known that it is a candidate for delisting. Buying its shares for anyone will just be to cash out like DFM.
