Romance / Re: Wife Enjoying Free Ride To Work From Her Male Colleague In Office. Advisable? by redsky1: 11:30am On Nov 10, 2009
buy your wife a car. simple

i don't even know what the issue is

if a man is giving her a ride then he will be worried

if a woman is giving her a ride he will be worried (after all it will not take a woman long to "advise" another woman to get her husband to buy her a car)

just get a car - doesn't need to be 2010 model

That 'before' photo is damning evidence especially her shoulders and arms.
However, whatever she's doing to herself is working pretty good for her as she has wonderful skin! I just hope they'd be no future adverse effects assuming she's bleaching or whatever.
Who doesn't do it anyway? Beyonce, Rihanna etc -- all are guilty as charged.

thank goodness someone else said it b4 i'm accusued of hating by the ignorant people here that don't understand simple english

rhianna - hmmmmmmmm don't know if she is bleaching buy she is very light now compared to her "pon de replay" days. i read somewhere that she put it down to all these cold countries she travels to, hmmmmmmmm i know a lie when i see one

i don't think rita bleaches but she probably tones - and why not she is in the public eye - to maintian that colour in nigeria is not easy o - even if ur sitting in AC 24/7

tosh, give it a rest. Just give the guy advice - good advice on the Internet, thx.
Even without speaking, people know a JJC - it can be obvious. I went with my mum to the market and I was speaking adulterated Yoruba - like most educated peope (not many people speak pure dialect). And the people are just saying look at him, and was making comment in Yoruba which I understtod. I just laughed and told them at the end that I am not a JJC - but I was really. You never lose your language completely but I will not be confident to make a speech or read out in public in Yoruba without practice. * If speaking to officials, throw in a few dialects and tone down accent - it makes things easier, e.g at airport, police checks, passport office and others; and in markets let people that know help or speak pigeon English.

But there is no need to pick on the person that was born abroad or have stayed a long time in the company of whites, At least by coming to Nairaland, the person is identifying with fellow Nigerians. I find it funny that some Nigerians complain or make comments about abroad kids whereas all their kids go to private school and they speak English at school and home in Nigeria. Many nephews and nieces are not so different from those here in the way the speak and behave - some are even more spoiled and have little social skills.

Yes, it is not 100% true that Nigeria has gone backwards - just my opinion but it is the kind of country where we try to run before we can walked. There are some aspects of Nigeria that are better for Nigerians than the average Brit or American but we have not taking the whole country forward compared to countries like Ghana, Egypt, Libya and the other North African countries. We are so rich but so wasteful and greedy!

as for asking the question what is wrong with asking it. sometimes envy is a bad thing - which one is not to talk in a different accent - so just cos ur in nigeria u have to take out ur tongue and keep quiet - how many of u people back home can change ur accent (convincingly) arrant nonsense.

Family / Re: Why Are Men Afraid Of Successful Women by redsky1: 6:03pm On Nov 05, 2009
Outstrip:

What irritates me are the Nigerian women who are successful but you can see that they are going above and beyond to make sure they do not step on their husbands toes. If you are successful and you cannot be happy about it because it will make your husband sad then you have serious issues. I don't see why a man feels all of a sudden that he cannot "take care" of a woman because she is succesful. That is so sexist. You are basically implying that for you to feel like a man the woman has to be unsuccessful. Go ahead and prove to the poster what she already knows. At least you were subtle unlike Cantell who just came out and said successful women intimidate him.

As for me this is my own personal belief. All men at one point or the other will feel intimidated by a successful wife. It is natural. The only difference is that in the Nigerian culture she is more likely going to be oppressed because of it. If she feels like she is being forced to feel small by her husband and pushes back then she is seen as being a bad person. It is different in the west where a woman can be successfull and not have to make excuses for it or tone it down so that people will not think that she is the one feeding him. In the west your money is his money at the end of the day. Our culture set the men up for failure because the only thing most men contribute to the family dynamic is the sperm and money for the upkeep. When the woman starts making the money and they man falls on hard times and realizes that he placed his worth in the wrong place he takes it out on the woman.

WOW THIS IS DEEP!

Health / Re: Burst Size Reduction Therapy? by redsky1: 9:47pm On Nov 04, 2009
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

poster is this a serious question.

breasts cannot decrease unless the person loses a lot of weight - but if someone is busty they are busty. there is o other way to reduce ur size unless thru plastic surgery. breast reduction surgery is very risky and the risk of infection and scarring for black women is higher - if you can't accept her for who she is then u don't deserve to be with any women until u sort ur head out.

i take it you look like a male model

i have bn used and abused by the so-called friends , i once had a friend who's siser was getting married, she told me she was going to order a dress from a catalogue and use my address cos i worked nights and she worked days, i agreed but when the delivery man arrived, he 25oxes of clothes. i was shocked cos i was expecting a dress, he told me he knew i had used a credit card details to buy the stuff but he did not care as long as he could have some stuff, i telephoned my friend and asked her y she had lied to me, when i told her the delivery man (he was white) wanted some stuff, she said he could not have any of the stuff, the delivery man snatched my mobile phone from me and spoke to her, she agreed, and i thought that was the end, an hour later, there was another knock for 6 laptops, she did not tell me about the laptops, i signed for it but did not tell her, later she called me and asked if the laptops had arrived, i said no and her boyfriend called me and said he was going to break my legs, my friend and her boyfriend came to pick their stuff, when i asked if i could have some clothes, they both said the stuff did not belong to them blah blah blah blah, i ve not spoken to her ever since

when i was going thra rough patch- no job, only 3 of my friends supported financailly, now that am fine, drving a bently bought for me by my propery millonaire boyfried, they all want to come to the £2M hse i share with my boyfriend, every1 wants to be my friend, initially some of my friends were like my lebanese boyfriend was a play boy and was going to use me, when he asked me to move in with him and gave a bought me a bently in my name, they changed their tunes, now they want me to introduce them to only his millonaire friends, i did introduce 1 to 1 of his friends but she told the guy to warn my boyfriend that i was a god digger, the guy dumped her because he thought she was a gold digger, even in church, every1 wants to have a convesation with me or want a lift. hey i would stare at the breast if i were there, and people dont get it twisted cossy does not expose her breast, her breast exposes her, i mean she has no choice those things are too big to stay inside a dress, they want to come out.

she does expose them - if she wore the right size bra they would not look that big (trust me i know - don't ask)

with all the money she is making she can't hop on a plane and get properly measured i can tell her size just by looking at them.

yes she is very busty cos she is slim but seriously if she wanted to cover them up she could - other bigger than her manage it so what is her excuse

@ The Amaks; did I just hear you call her "Ash tray" This clearly defines and sums u up.
better be careful what u type sometimes.

I'm not dissing her, i started the topic cos i see a lot of buzz about her and i don't think she is all that

i have already said she is raking in her millions so what is ur own

if any of u "real" haters had a brain u could deduce from my write ups that i actually like this women and admire her but don't think she is all that.

if you want to be in the public eye then this is what u get. do u honestly think Rita is loosing sleep over this topic i started - if u do ten u all are bigger fools.

to all the people insulting me and others with the same view all i can do is LMAO - nigerians are too much - maybe its they way ur educated i dont know for unna but what i know is that u guys insulting me and amaka and others are starting to sound like wild animals. do you think everyone on this earth finds angelina jolie, beyonce, naiomi cambell , tyra fine no - does that now warrant insult.

if somebody makes themselves famous this is what they have to deal with - its all part and parcel of the job, its not just about winning awards and getting million naira contracts. i'm sure u guys are fully signed up members of the rita dominic fan club more grease to ur elbow.

i didn't even post her picture but the ones you guys have posted proves my point. she is not all that - she has beautiful skin i will give her that - those are the kind of calfs women should be showing not the ones covered in mosquito bites so that one i will give her - but if u guys can't see what the smoking is doing to her mouth - i think its time u went down to specsavers and got an eye test.

i'm not hating on anybody and even if i am then for ur dear rita that is a good thing cos i believe that in life if you don't have haters u are not doing well enough - my haters are my motivators to do well so that it will be killing them inside - so if rita has haters trust me - she is doing very well.

It's obvious that U ve a problem with light-skinned pple.It makes no sense to say sb is not realy pretty but for their colour as if it is mutually exclusive, that arguement does't hold water cos it's all part of the parkage that makes them pretty. Can U as well say geny would ve luk'd prettier if she were'nt dark-skinned when realy to many her smooth dark skin is part of the features that makes her more appealing, point is,all these are integral, they add up to give U the total package.
And what abt her mouth if I may ask?abeg die it! If U fink Rita lukz local then Funke Akindele lukz wat? Abeg na mannerism we go take judge that one no be her mouth or her skin, may be U fit say her yansh next!
She might not be as fine as beyonce but trust me she's way above your usual averag and I can bet too that she's outta your league, prove me wrong if U disagree.

wow - i'm light skinned so how do i have a problem - i do not know many nigerian actresses so can't comment on others. the reason i picked rita is cos of the over exposure she gets in Nigeria (whenever i travel i see her everywhere). my husband works in the industry and has met her on many occasions and thinks the same thing as me (does he have bad belle as well?) . i merely asked the question - i personally think ini edo is finer, i'm sure many people will disagree but are we not all entitlied to our own individual opinion.

na wah o, i admire rita to be honest cos she is making her money and if the majority of people think she is fine then i guess she should ride that boat until a younger and finer model takes her place. all i am saying is that i don't understand the hype

ok let me put it like this - cheyrl cole is pretty but i don't think she is all that - if not for the money she has to make her look glamorous then i doubt she would get theh exposure she gets

as for acting ability i really enjoy her movies but all i'm saying is that when someone is very exposed it does make people wonder what is so fantastic about this person

for example again - brad pitt is ok but he is not that.

must everyone think the same?

both of them are fullfilling and we all have the opportunity to choose which one we want to be. I have a very good professional job/career but once the kids start coming i have no qualms being a housewife - does it make me less of a women - NO. if my husband can provide for the family then what is wrong with me staying at home and keeping my house a home.
