olaolu11: 100FT, that is far, are u sure you cant change your positioning to shorten the distance, I hvnt ever seen a dual core 16mm, single core is about 800naira per meter , so you are looking at spending about 60k for 2 lengths of 100ft, am not in lagos, so cant review your setup for you. even using 4.5amps to charge a 100ah battery is not good, long term. I recall kiekie advertising 16mm dual core, you may consider reaching out to him, he can also help qaqc your system, ie if he is not driving, or too busy 5 Likes |

terrymason: NOPE, its usually written on the body of the inverter, 48v is the common dc input voltage for any inverter of that rating, though 96v and 120v models still exist 3 Likes |

olaolu11: your inverter likely has a problem. its strange you have money to buy 200ah batt, and you cant afford 6mm or 10mm cable, with the 4.5a you are getting, using it to charge the 200ah battery, will kill the battery under 6months, because of sulphation. nothing wrong with running solar on a budget, but if you must do so, you need to back up ur lack of funds with adequate knowledge, if not, you stand to loose everything. would advice you to get a pro here, who may be willing to reviw your system with you and possibly visit your location, to enable you harness the max from your setup 5 Likes |

Business / Re: Company Registration: Questions People Ask & Answers! by Reprobate: 7:32pm On Apr 26, 2019 |
[quote author=DeConsultant post=77838166] Firstly, i will like to categorically say this, a business name is under class B in CAMA (Companies Allied Matters Act), the thing about classes of companies is that an entity in a class is unique and only changeable or converted within it class. A business name can be converted from a sole proprietorship to partnership and vice versa. The same rule applies to Limited Companies, which is under class A, it can only move within its class What this means is that you cannot degrade or convert from a Limited Company to a business name or vice versa. There are two options 1. De-register or wind up the company (limited company) and re-register as a business name with the same company name. 2. Just ignore the already existing company and register a new business name with a new name. thanks for the prompt response, I already have a TIN nos, and FIRS would be aware of my existence, though we hvnt made any tax payments so I think ignoring may attract taxes and all sorts, and with bvn, firs may go to our other accounts to collect backlog of taxes if they are so inclined.. the deregistering you mentioned, you have an idea of the procedure |

starpower: thanks, though I am looking at mppt cos of possible future expansion. 2ndly my solar mentor says he gets about 1200w avg from his 1500w panel, so extrapolating, I feel I shud be getting about 350w or 400w avg from the 2 x 250w panel = about 30amps at 12v, using mppt, so with 5hrs of sunlight, am fairly certain of the battery going into float daily 2 Likes |

solar gurus...abeg helep me b4 ny money loss i wsn to do a small setup..for 5 12w bulbs and maybe 1 60w fan on some nights. my budget is lean. so 1kva inverter .1 x 12v 200ah battery and 2 x 250w 36v panels. i intend to hook it up to a 30a or 40a mppt charge controller..my question is theoritically the panels shud generate 15amps at 24v...thus simce am connecting it to an mppt cc for a 12v system...i would be getting abt 30amps at 12v. pls confirm this my analysis or plan is correct |
