Cowards igbos beating their chests and now they're cowering as a result of the little sneeze made by some set of Hausa youths in the north. Isn't it obvious that the blood of the coward ojukwu runs in the vein of every igbo? Always making initial gra-gra and crying foul when being dealt with. As for the bastard Fayose, you will start smelling your yansh next year.. 2 Likes |

tintingz: Honestly, it's not the case with him. His beating of me back then didn't for once take the father son relationship from me. He's got a way that no more how much he beats you, you will still have no option but to love him, because i remember before getting up from bed the next day after i must have received his beatings, he'd have gotten all sorts of sweets, akara and so on to compensate me. He would tell me how he loves me, and how he doesn't want me to end up with the bad boys on the street. He would promise to do anything for me in so far i am ready to stop being stubborn. Before i know it, my hatred for him is gone and sometimes even feel pity for him. I hate making them sad. Although your position above is right as i have experienced it with my brother. I stayed with him when i was in high school. This one always enjoy beating me. Although i don't hate him any longer but our rapport is dead. We only talk to each other when necessary. My dad, however, i owe a lot of thanks for the way he brought me up. There are many children psychologist here in Nigeria but African parents don't consult them because of ego I really don't think it's because of ego, rather it's because it really doesn't make sense. In my opinion, i think this psychologist thing can only work well outside of Africa or anywhere where the poverty level is low with a serene environment devoid of all sort of things that can corrupt the minds of kids. In the first place, the psychologist cannot know the kid more than their parent and besides, children tends to forget things easily. No matter the counselling and whatever the psychologist is going to do, things will hardly change in an environment like Nigeria.. I'm not denying the fact that it can work but it's going to be a long step to it. and what people will say about how they can't train a child, they prefer taken them to pastors, Alfas that will do demon beating experiment on them ,.. This is no doubt a stupid thing to do.. Mum once wanted to take me to alfa so i can be staying with him, but dad never agree. I watched an interview of a child psychologist, he stated why parents should stop beating their kids, and there are different types of punishment. That's punishment alone. Punishment with a lot of talkings and lots of advice on what to do often guides children for their betterment. I'm a living witness to that. Like i said, i was very stubborn that if not for what i passed through, i would have ended up with criminals in the society today. Alhamdullilah i didn't. Some parents only yell at kids, "don't go there, don't go out, don't steal, don't do this don't do that" but they won't tell them the reasons why they shouldn't do those things, they won't guide them. and did you visit any psychologist before you changed ? My father believes beating is part of training a child, however he does much of talkings, even to this day. I think I will talk more with my sturbborn kids too, and beat them whenever the need arises, else they become a spoilt brat. |

tintingz: This post is funny though. Well i don't mean beating to the extent of the kid running away from home. And one of the more reason why i like my dad to this day is how he brought us up. He's a very patient man that before he takes up pankere to beat you, then know that you've totally exhaust his patience. When i was kid for example, whenever we're having holiday, i would play around. I would trek miles away from home in search of all sort frivolities. I only come back home when it's getting. At first, he would only scold me, he would narrate how dangerous it is going far away from home. That i would end up joining bad gangs and so on. Sometimes he would threaten me with police, that police arrest people that wander about.. I don't get scared of his sermons. By next morning, whenever he's gone to work, I'd be off again. Then later on, i started taking my siblings along. Sometimes we go on in search of where to pluck fruit. We would jump people's fence. Still yet he would only warn me. Then my stupidity developed into gathering other kids in the hood and taking them for the hunt, you see the moment their parents started coming to my house to warn me against taking their kids out, that was when my dad starTed showing his other side. He would beat me for not staying at home, although with a lot of counselling. At a point in time, he handed me over to a fashion designer in the street. I was to be learning fashion designing at age 8 or so.. Lol. The man will also add beating whenever i do any mess up. To cut the whole shit short, i had to stop being a stubborn boy because i knew the consequences. Who knows if he hadn't shown a lot of concern to my stubbornness, maybe i would have been in one of those garages playing dice with my gangs now. Who knows maybe i would have been friend with bad guys with all sort of despicable acts. And are you really talking about a children psychologist ? Seriously in Nigeria ? No one is saying children are expected to sit alone and be looking dull. Rather kids should be scolded for doing wrong things even after receiving corrections on countless occasions, else they get used to wrongdoings till they can't be corrected again. 1 Like 1 Share |
Islam for Muslims / Re: Is God Merciful? Islam’s Response To Evil & Suffering by Riduane: 11:02am On Jun 18, 2017 |
At this point the atheist might respond by describing the above as an intelligent way of evading the problem. If the theist can refer to God’s wisdom—and that His wisdom is so great that it cannot be understood—then we can explain anything ‘mysterious’ in reference to a Divine wisdom. I somewhat empathise with this reply, however, in the context of the problem of evil and suffering, it is a false argument. It is the atheist that refers to God’s attributes to begin with; His power and mercy. All that is being said is that they should refer to God as who He is, not as an agent with only two attributes. If they were to include other attributes such as wisdom, their argument would not be valid. If they were to include the attribute of wisdom they would have to show how Divine wisdom is incompatible with a world full of suffering or evil. This would be impossible to prove because there are so many examples in our intellectual and practical lives where we admit our intellectual inferiority—in other words, there are cases where we submit to a wisdom we cannot understand. We rationally submit to realities that we cannot understand on a regular basis. For example, when we visit the doctor we assume that the doctor is an authority. We trust the doctor’s diagnosis on this basis. We even take the medicine the doctor prescribes without any second thought. This and many other similar examples clearly show that referring to God’s wisdom is not evading the problem. Rather, it is accurately presenting who God is and not making out that God has only two attributes. Since He is The-Wise, and His names and attributes are maximally perfect, it follows that there is wisdom behind everything that He does—even if we do not know or understand that wisdom. Many of us do not understand how diseases work, but just because we do not understanding something does not negate its existence. In essence, God’s wisdom is unbounded and complete, whereas we have limited wisdom and knowledge. Another way of putting it is that God has the totality of wisdom and knowledge; we just have its particulars. We see things from the perspective of our fragmentary viewpoint. To fall for the trap of egocentrism is like believing you know the entire puzzle after seeing only one piece. 1 Like |
Islam for Muslims / Is God Merciful? Islam’s Response To Evil & Suffering by Riduane: 10:50am On Jun 18, 2017 |
INTRODUCTION The evil and suffering argument is a very weak one because it is based on two major false assumptions. The first concerns the nature of God. It implies that God is only The-Merciful and All-Powerful, thereby isolating two attributes and ignoring others that the Qur’an has revealed about God. The second assumption is that God has provided us with no reasons for why He has allowed evil and suffering to exist.] This is not true. Islamic revelation provides us with many reasons for why God has allowed evil and suffering to exist. Both assumptions will be addressed below. Is God only The-Merciful and All-Powerful? According to the Qur’an, God is Al-Qadeer, meaning the All-Powerful, and Ar-Rahmaan, meaning The-Merciful, which also implies compassion. Islam requires that mankind know and believe in a God of power, mercy and goodness. However, the atheist grossly misrepresents the comprehensive Islamic conception of God. God is not only The-Merciful and All-Powerful; rather, He has many names and attributes. These are understood holistically via God’s oneness. For instance, one of His names is Al-Hakeem, meaning the The-Wise. Since the very nature of God is wisdom, it follows that whatever He wills is in line with Divine wisdom. When something is explained by an underlying wisdom, it implies a reason for its occurrence. In this light, the atheist reduces God to two attributes and by doing so builds a straw man, thereby engaging in an irrelevant monologue. Just because atheists deny the existence of a Divine wisdom does not mean it does not exist. This reasoning is typical of toddlers. Many children are scolded by their parents for something they want to do, such as eating too many sweets. The toddlers usually cry or have a tantrum because they think how bad mummy and daddy are, but the child does not realise that the wisdom underlying their objection (in this case, too many sweets are bad for their teeth). Furthermore, this contention misunderstands the definition and nature of God. Since God is transcendent, knowing and wise, then it logically follows that limited human beings cannot fully comprehend the Divine will. To even suggest that we can appreciate the totality of God’s wisdom would mean that we are like God, which denies the fact of His transcendence, or implies that God is limited like a human. This argument has no traction with any believer, because no Muslim believes in a created, limited God. It is not an intellectual cop-out to refer to Divine wisdom, because it is not referring to some mysterious unknown. Rather, it truly understands the nature of God and makes the necessary logical conclusions. 1 Like |

HighIQ: This is a very dumb opinion. Studying Banking and finance doesn't always mean one have the prospect of working in the bank. Of course not. How about the financial part then? Virtually all professional companies have a financial section where financial experts are needed. With the experience of banking and finance students, they fit in more for this post. I was expecting to see, philosophy, psychology, physiology, religious studies, history, sociology and some education courses, alas the OP is useless. Besides, all these courses re only useless in a failed country like Nigeria, outside Nigeria they are all hot cakes. 2 Likes |

tintingz: Don't get me wrong oh, I'm not asking about a particular God, rather I'm asking about a Supreme being in general. Why are you skeptical about it? We are not perfect but the only way to know you're good is yourself, your empathy. So yes I know I'm good because of my empathy, I don't need a mystical book to tell me I'm good or bad or moral. Okay |
Islam for Muslims / Re: ...... by Riduane: 5:19am On Jun 16, 2017 |
Empiree: This link is exactly my source, if you notice the screenshot, it is from there that i got the answer that the water that is neither from heaven and earth is the perspiration of horses. It is boldly written there. I don't get why you are referring me back to my source. Even though you and the other brother's answer is close to reference from Quran, but Quran doesn't say it actually water she saw. It was actually mere floor that appeared so. If Quran had confirmed water i would have credited you and the brother for that. But Quran says "she thought it was water" but it is not Then that means there is no water that is not from heaven neither from on earth in the first place if what she saw was a glass and not any water. The question, therefore, is pointless.. Don't you think? Besides, the Quran didn't mention the perspiration of horses, why mark it as the right answer then? |

tintingz: Any reason for your skepticism on it ? I can be a good person but a Christian will tell me I will go to christian hell because I didn't accept Jesus as my lord and savior. Just because i didn't accept the latter my good deeds does not count. How can you be sure your deeds are good? Are you judging yourself by the societal codes? |

Thats what you term as good iS truly good in the face of God. |
