She went and lay down under the bridge to sleep, she saw newspaper and picked it and when she was reading it, there was an advert about an old coin that got lost in 1955. As soon as she saw it she checked the coin and it was the same. Then she rushed down to the address and they confirmed it and issued her with a cheque of 10million dollars. She rushed back to that restaurant to see those three men but she didn't find them.

This is a question I have to consider for my characters in each romance novel I write, and one I had asked myself several times in the past after meeting one or two people. There are some people you meet and you just know they’re a fantasy or fancy which will fade even the next day. And there are those that tug at your heart and you begin to wonder, could they be THE ONE?


The truth is that if we’re not sure about this, whether deciding to allow a friendship develop into something more or taking the decision to get married, we could be making the mistake of a lifetime. These are some of the pointers I came up with to recognize that special person. They are by no means comprehensive and I will not presume to speak for everyone.

1. They’re in your future: This means that when you visualize your future, say 10 to 20 years ahead, you can actually see yourself with this person. They can fit into or support your long term personal as well as professional goals. You also share the same core values that will make living together enjoyable.

2. They become number one in your priorities: We all have our priorities in life, even though these might change with time and situation. Love usually happens at different times for most of us depending on our seasons and when we are ready. So when you fall in love, that person comes at the top of your to-do list and you cannot get them off it.

3. You welcome compromise: Love is a feeling of togetherness and mostly leads to two people spending lots of time in close proximity. You find that with love, a relationship has less disagreements because each person is happy to give in during times of disagreement; and even when you do find yourselves on completely opposing sides, you make up easily afterwards. The beauty of love is that it allows you to see the minuses and overlook them, because what you see at the end of the day is the person you love and not their quirks. Remember love should be for better or for worse.

4. You want to spend time together and they make you feel good: You’re happy and feel high, songs and books begin to make sense, the world is more beautiful. So you want to spend moments together, you talk, go out – to eat, to movies, plays, etc. Being in love makes these periods an enjoyable one for both people, something to look forward to. You also enjoy quiet times together, because there will be down times when none of you is in the mood to go partying and the like.

5. The pain of the past is healed: Love heals and when you do fall in love, there is the tendency that you begin to forget any pains you may have in the past, either from childhood or any failed relationships. It may just be that the person you’re in love with is happy to hear you speak about such pain, or you can be your real self around them, or they give you the support you need to seek adequate help.

6. You worry about their well-being, you want to know all about them: When you fall in love, the object of your affection burrows into your heart. You find that you begin to care about their welfare. Have they eaten, is their car running well, do they have their finances sorted? You ask more questions, you are happy to squeeze time out of your hectic schedule to meet their friends, family and co-workers. You ask the mum their first words, at what age they walked, you name it.

7. There is chemistry: Of course! LOL…Maybe I should have said this one first? Chemistry is a big part of love because we’re all sexual beings and being able to express ourselves through love-making is one of the glues that hold relationships together. However, you have to realize that sex has to be within the context of marriage. There should be no issue of one person coercing or forcing the other into something they’re not ready or willing to do. You should not change your values to satisfy the other person.

8. They can affect you deeply in their actions: Who doesn’t know this? There’s the saying that those you love are the ones with the power to hurt you the most. Yes, and this is why some of us are so scared and afraid of falling in love. Not because we’ve been hurt before, but because we do not want to open ourselves to future pain. So love is a decision, a choice you make to take that risk.

9. You can be yourself with no pretense: If you cannot do this, your love might not be able to last or sustain itself. Most of us wear masks on a daily basis, at work, school, church, with strangers and outsiders. When you fall in love, you want to make a space where you can come home and feel calm and relaxed without worrying about pretending to be what you’re not. At the same time, you find that you are willing to change for the better to please them, so you upgrade your wardrobe, improve your hygiene, party less so as to spend more time, etc.

Finally, these are just some of the ways to recognize love, many more abound. Also, love is personal and for each individual, there may be a different experience. However, love is also universal, so if you see that your love is very different and in a way that negates what others experience, like various forms of abuse, control, etc, then it may not be love. I hope no one finds themselves in this situation and have the support to help them get out if they do.

True love is beautiful and no matter what happens, remains the thing we all search for. May we all find and experience true love.

Benin City, Edo State, were shocked last Saturday when they woke to hear a house wife (names withheld) shouting and pleading for help.


They rushed to the house only to discover that the woman was raped by three young men who stormed the house at about 3am. The woman’s husband, who was tied by the guys, was hiding under the bed.


The suspects Peter Anigboro (25 years old), Lucky Williams (22) and Olise Friday, forced the door of the residence of the victims open with an impoverished gun and a dagger. They immediately went for the husband, tied his legs and hands after which he was pushed under the bed.


After taking care of the husband, they went for the wife who was their original target.

It was gathered by Vanguard that the robbers have been monitoring her movement for some days before they struck last Saturday. It was learnt that they requested her to declare the money she sold that day from her recharge card business which she quickly obliged.

The robbers further requested for recharge cards, hand sets and other valuables. While they were threatening, the victim pleaded that they should not kill her. But to her greatest shock, they pounced on her and started undressing her, warning that she will be killed if she tried to resist them.

The leader of the gang, Peter Anikoro was the first to rape her and while he was doing that, his mask pulled off and that was when the victim saw the face of her attacker. Peter is a neighour who resides in the opposite building.

However, after taking his turn, others followed suit.

As if the suspects were destined to meet their waterloo that same day, they attacked another house around that same Ogida quarters where they met a 60 year-old woman and attempted to rape her too. The woman pleaded with them, and though she was not raped, they fiddled with her private part and carted away hand sets and cash from the house.

Luck ran out with the rampaging robbers when Peter took other members of the gang to his uncle’s house at Siluko road to rob. Unfortunately for them, they could not gain access to the house due to the protector.

Through the window, they were able to cart away a hand set. But some body spotted them and raised an alarm which attracted the attention of members of the vigilante group in the area. They gave the robbers a hot chase and with the arrival of policemen on patrol, they were apprehended.

Leader of the gang Peter, confessed thus: “I don’t have a job so what I did that day was to call two of my friends and told them that we are going to operate that night. We met around 9pm in a palmwine joint close to the house. We moved to the place around 3am when everybody had gone to bed. We were monitoring her movement from the wine bar”.

Asked why they raped the woman, Peter said, “It was devil’s work. We did not know when we did it”.

Only one day after same sex marriage has been made legal in some of the countries, thousand of gay couples have already filed for divorce, claiming that they have made “a huge mistake”, local sources are reporting.

According to our sources, about 2.400 people have showed up this morning in front of the Baltimore court house with their attorneys, demanding that their one day marriages would be quickly annulled.
“I think we rushed into this,” said Roger Graham, newlywed homosexual. “I clearly wasn’t thinking yesterday when I got married to Steve, for God’s sake, I can’t spend the rest of my life with a man who doesn’t love the same organic food restaurants as I do, no matter how cute he is,” added Mr.Graham.

While many of the gathered in front of the Baltimore court house have stated that “in the heat of the moment they weren’t really thinking clearly”, others said that the second they got married, their relationship has
significantly changed, making them “hate their partners, but not enough to kill them.”
“Everything changed the second we got married,” said David Raynolds, the 31-year old designer who has been in a relationship for more than 5 years.

“I used to love coming home and talking to Steve, but now, when he starts talking about stuff I literally stop listening the moment he opens his mouth,” added Mr. Raynolds. “For the first time, voters in Maine and Maryland voted to allow loving couples to make lifelong commitments through marriage — forever taking away the right-wing talking point that marriage equality couldn’t win on the ballot,” said Chad Griffin of the Human Rights Campaign, a national gay-rights group.

“But clearly, there can’t be marriage without rushed decisions and messy divorces; it’s all part of this sacred union between two people, so it’s all quite normal,” added Mr. Griffin. The outcome of Baltimore’s court house gathering made history today, making Maryland the first state in the world to allow same-sex married couples to divorce each other.

Fashion as we know takes it turns year in year out, but what has been noticed is that the designers of these trending designs seem to be going naughtier every year with their designs. This is indeed a sad insight into the life widow who’s now a commercial séx workers:

Living behind Mass Park in Zuba, a satellite town in Abuja is Blessing Udeh, an indigene of Imo State. She could easily be described as ‘your everyday type of woman’. There’s nothing in her gait or looks to suggest that she is in what many refer to as the oldest profession in the world.

Probably in her late 40’s, she’s a widow with three children who seemingly had a good life with her husband until fate played a cruel one on her by snatching him away.



Getting Udeh to talk took some effort as she fought severally to control her emotions. She stated: “My husband died and left no money for the family. So, I had to fend for myself by joining the business (prostitution) to keep body and soul together.”

According to her, she had a fairly good life, as a full time housewife, with her husband who was solely in charge of the family’s upkeep until he died.

The widow disclosed that it the devastating effect of the demolition exercise carried out by the former FCT minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai that claimed the life of her husband.

“The building my husband built in Karmo was demolished by El-Rufai. This affected my husband so much that he couldn’t rise up financially again after that. It was the effect of the demolition that affected him and he died eventually. After his death, my children and I were thrown into abject poverty. There was no where we could start from and nobody or even relations were willing to help us. It got so bad that my children who had dropped out from school, and I were begging daily for sustenance.”
The mother of three, who claimed to have embraced prostitution recently when all else failed, disclosed that life too in the fast lane is not as rosy as she thought.

She said that she makes between N500 and N2,000 a night which is meagre compared to the amount they pay for lodgings at the brothel.

“We pay N5, 400 for accommodation weekly and I have not even gotten enough to pay this week’s rent,” she said as at the time of conducting this interview.
The widow, Blessing Udeh, is however appealling to the federal government, well-meaning and wealthy Nigerians to come to her aid.

Over the years, it has been proven one way or the other that some African refs just love to see the Super Eagles of Nigeria lose to their opponents, for whatever reason we are yet to find out.

Anyway, I hear the "cruel" Egyptian referee who officiated the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Chipolopo of Zambia, on Friday January 25th, has been dismissed from the on-going 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as a result of poor officiating.


It would be recalled that the ref, Ghead Grisha, awarded a controversial penalty to Zambia in the 85th minute which enabled them draw level in the group C match.

Following a petition by the Nigeria Football Federation, a top official of CAF disclosed that the ref "has been sent home. He will have no further action at this Cup of Nations. His decisions did not tally with best practices of the refereeing profession and we would not allow anyone to start re-writing the rules of the game here."
Yours truly watched the said match....the ref made a wrong call.

17/01/13 will remain an unforgettable memory in my life..like every other nights, I went to bed and said goodnight to my Son (22yrs) and my daughter (18yrs) and we all slept.
At about 3:55am on the above date, unknown gunmen broke into our apartments to rob but unfortunately there was nothing they could lay hand on. they asked my son to get up pointing gun @ him and asked my daughter to lie facing the Celine and she did as they told her.

Shockingly they asked my son to have sex with his sister right in front of them and that if they r not impress, He will extend that generosity to His mother (Me) that they are not in the mood for rape..that this the price we will pay else he will be a dead person... A MUST READ!!

He was shocked and after a while He asked them to shoot him that he cannot do it that even if he do it and they leave, that he will take his life in less than a day cos he can't live with such memory. They got angry and one asked the other to shoot him lets go and He randomly shot my son and he fell in the pool of his own blood and they left...

All I knew is that He was alive till we got to the hospital and after several hours of medics on him,
He went into COMA and to this day He hasn't said a word yet just breathing..
I don't want to lose my only Son.. My daughter has been crying since that incidence.
Please pray so that my only son will come back alive for me cos am just a widow and they are what I have always lived for...My Hope is in God Sir
