Is this the so called Brotherly love? According to Daily Mail UK, St John’s Episcopal Church in Aberdeen now welcomes hundreds of Muslims praying five times a day in their building as the nearby mosque was so small that they were forced to worship outside.

The minister of St John's, Rev Isaac Poobalan, has handed over part of the church hall to Chief Imam Ahmed Megharbi and the imam has led prayers in the main chapel.

Rev Poobalan said today that he would not be true to his faith if he did not offer to help.

Rev Poobalan, 50, said being surrounded by Islam while growing up in India helped break down the divide for worshippers of two religions praying together in Aberdeen.

Sheikh Ahmed Megharbi of the Syed Shah Mustafa Jame Masjid mosque said: 'What happens here is special and there should be no problem repeating this across the country.

'The relationship is friendly and respectful.'

St John's is part of the Scottish Episcopal Church, which is part of the Anglican Communion and distinct from the presbyterian Church of Scotland. Read More and Images Below..

Fear has gripped students and lecturers of Delta State Polytechnic in Ozoro, Isoko North local government area following an alleged discovery that some incoming students have high infection rates for the dreaded HIV/AIDS.

We learnt that the reported HIV/AIDS scare has been a contentious issue among the polytechnic community for the past two months. Five students and two lecturers alleged that incoming students were required to give their blood at the school’s medical laboratory for genotype and blood group tests. The sources added that the students were not aware that the blood they gave would be tested for HIV infection.


The students complained that it was not stated in the medical forms given to them nor were they told of any HIV/AIDS test. “It was now later that we began to hear that our extracted blood at the school laboratory, said to be used for genotype and blood group test, was also used to conduct HIV/AIDS test,” said one of the students.

A lecturer at the institution told our correspondent that the test were meant to be carried out in a clandestine manner, but the information leaked out somewhere along the way.
A student who simply identified himself as Robinson disclosed that the school administration had pasted on a notice board the identification numbers of students (but without their names) who were alleged carriers of various diseases, from gonorrhea to HIV/AIDS. The students’ names were omitted to avoid their identification, Robinson said. He added that the notice was removed as soon as the subject created tension and fear on campus.

One of the students said they were not allowed to bring any medical reports from outside the school. “The school authorities insisted that all medical tests must be carried out in the school laboratory,” she said.
A female lecturer confirmed to our reporter that the test were carried out by the school, but that the school administrators had decided to be secretive in handling the matter “in order to save our institution from disgrace.”

Contacted on the issue, the polytechnic’s rector debunked the allegations that secret HIV/AIDS tests were conducted. “I can tell you that there was no such thing in the school,” he said. He added: “This kind of test is not permitted in this school. We don't have HIV/AIDS kits to carry out tests in this school. So where did we carry out such tests? The story is baseless as there is no single iota of truth in it.”

However, the rector admitted that blood was extracted from the students for genotype and blood group tests as part of the school’s routine requirement for new intakes. He however insisted that the polytechnic did not conduct any HIV/AIDS screening on new intakes’ blood.

“Yes in our lab we have the kits to run other tests which we have done. But, as for the HIV/AIDS, we don’t have those kits to run the tests,” the rector stated.

Meanwhile the issue continues to throw up a series of reactions. Death threats were reportedly sent to Felida Essi, the publisher of a local newspaper (Isoko Mirror), whose paper mentioned the issue in its current edition. The publisher alleged that she received several calls last week from the President General of Ozoro kingdom, Raphael Afemare, demanding that she retract the story within 24 hours or face grave repercussions. She said Mr. Afemare warned her that she may not live to tell the story of what would happen to her.

Mr. Afemare is a known electoral thief who was arrested by the police at Ozoro for snatching ballot boxes during the 2011 election. When contacted by our correspondent, Mr. Afemare reacted by shouting at the top of his voice, but denied issuing threats to Ms. Essi.
One of the polytechnic students told us that many parents of the students were gripped by fear over the controversial blood tests. He added that parents had widely condemned the way the polytechnic conducted itself.

When God decides to bless me, turn my mourning to dancing, turn my tears to laughter and turn my anger to happiness, no man on earth can change it or spoil it.

Truth is, I laughed when I saw some of the blogs and websites quoting and saying things they know absolutely nothing about. Writing things they have heard without concrete evidence, ghosts that cannot show their faces and ask direct questions. But they believe and think that they can wake up one day and decide people's fate and destiny. Unfortunately they are made to feel important because people hate to read positive things and achievements, but give them juicy gossip and all of a sudden you become the most popular writer who has gist on everybody.

I realized that when I write blogs and articles about important information, encouragement, education and positive things, only twenty percent out of a hundred actually read it and leave comments. The other eighty percent jump at the gossip and scandals and then start to ask me stupid questions. These are people who have not communicated with me in ages but all of a sudden they feel the need to profess undying friendship and a listening ear. The fact that they believe I have the time or energy to respond to the most trivial issues baffles me.

Let me repeat myself in case some of these people missed it. "I really do not care what you say or write, the truth is who God has blessed no man can curse" , and if you believe that trying to turn a wonderful birthday into a global gossip game will make me feel bad then I am so sorry this Stella is not as stupid as you think"

They were separated just before the Second World War. And in the 75 years since, Rose Burleigh had caught just one fleeting glimpse of her younger brother John Stubbs – without even realising it was him.

But now brother and sister have been reunited after an amateur genealogist managed to fill in a gap in their family tree.

Details of their separation are sparse, lost in the mists of the distant past. What is known is that Mrs Burleigh, 77, was adopted by an aunt on the Isle of Wight in 1938 and her surname was changed, while Mr Stubbs was looked after by their grandparents in Chichester, West Sussex.

‘I went into complete shock. I was so glad he was alive and well. When I rang him I didn’t have any nerves at all. I felt really comfortable chatting with him.

‘Being brother and sister, there was an instant natural connection. It was really emotional and there were a lot of tears.’ The pair arranged to meet in Southampton. Mr Stubbs, a retired highways officer from Chichester, said: ‘As soon as I saw her I thought, “yes, that’s my sister”. I had been looking for her for 50 years.
‘I didn’t know her adoptive parents changed her name from Stubbs to Kelly which obviously made it tricky. So when I got the phone call from Rose we both cried and couldn’t really say much. We phoned each other again the next day and were able to talk more.

‘We have been ringing each other since and catching up on each other’s lives. We are just so lucky to have found each other so late in life.’ They do not know why they were separated but Mrs Burleigh remembers as a little girl an incident when a man with a boy turned up at her aunt’s house.

‘I remember seeing a man in army uniform coming to the house carrying someone,’ she said. ‘But when I turned away they were gone. I have spoken to John about that day and he said, “The man was our dad and the boy he was carrying was me”.

‘I wasn’t told that was my dad and brother.’ Mr Stubbs believes the adoptive parents refused to hand the young Rose back.

What A Loss! FOR Temitope Sanni, the birth of a set of triplets has become more of a curse than blessing: Shortly after they were born, the babies, all boys, died one after the other. Reason being that the parents could not raise the N4,000 required of them to buy drugs.

Apparently because of the family’s indigent condition, the woman was delivered of the babies in the
parlour of the Face-Me-I-Face-You bungalow she and her husband share with others, at Ilogbo, near Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
The home delivery was carried out by her niece. Seeing that the kids were too fragile, the mother and father were advised to take them to a clinic. At a nearby clinic, Damisile Medical Centre, the family was advised to rush the babies to a general hospital.

With N2,500 as all they could gather, the family rushed the babies to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), but were told that there were no beds to admit the babies and their mother.

The mother and father dashed out of LASUTH and went to the Federal Government-owned Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). By the time they arrived at LUTH, one of the babies had died. At LUTH, they were told to go buy some drugs for the remaining two boys. The total cost of the drugs was put at N4,000.

Having paid transport fare from their home, first to LASUTH and then to LUTH, the total money left on the mother, a petty trader, and her husband was N1,850.

In frustration, they left for home hoping to raise money. By the time they got home some 30 minutes after, another of the boys had died. Few hours after, the third also died.

The Minister of Health, Prof. C.O. Onyebuchi Chukwu had recently lamented lamented that at present, there is no mechanism for emergency care in the country.



He noted that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which is voluntary, covers people in the public service only. Plans to expand it to accommodate more people, especially in the informal sector are still being worked out.

The minister, at an interactive session with health writers in Lagos, also disclosed that there were plans to make the present voluntary NHIS mandatory for every Nigerian citizen so that through it, many poor Nigerians can get health care.

``I am proud that the NHIS is working and we hope to make it mandatory, either by tax system or contribution,’’ he said.

Responding to a question on how to address demands by hospitals that patients pay before attending to emergencies, he said, “No hospital under my charge insists on payment before attending to emergencies”, but for the private hospitals, we encourage them."

He disclosed that a policy that will address that is currently being formulated, but it will go through a lot of process including the Presidential Summit on Universal Health Coverage.

His words, “What I am proposing is that there has to be some kind of mechanisms for emergencies, which government can guarantee. That way, you and I can fall back on that because emergency could affect anyone.

"You may be enjoying a meal and accidentally, you have a bone stuck somewhere in your throat and your life is in danger when you never thought it could happen. You can have emergency at anytime and under emergency, no one prepares for it.”

Chukwu said under these circumstances, the only way is to rely on insurance, if the affected person is an insurance policy holder and secondly, we are trying to develop a special fund that can be guaranteed by government.

He however appealed to Nigerians to take up some form of insurance.

If people fail to take insurance, Chukwu said there will be a problem, because someone must provide the funds for emergency care, otherwise hospitals handling emergencies without payment will ultimately close down.

Azoospermia (Dead Sperm Count) is one of the most severe forms of male factor infertility. It is a condition in which a man has no sperm in his ejaculate. In order to transport sperm outside of the body, it mixes with ejaculate (semen) at certain places throughout the male reproductive system. Sometimes, due to blockages or sperm production problems, sperm does not mix with ejaculate, and therefore cannot leave the body. This is why so many men with azoospermia find it difficult to have children.

So my candid advice to anyone that has any form of venereal disease or any disease at all should go for complete treatment and cure to avoid staph setting in.

This is really a Shocker! Sad news indeed!! A five year old girl in India is fighting for her life after she was raped by a neighbour who held her captive for four days.

The five-year-old went missing from her home on Monday and was found on Thursday night by rescuers, alerted by her screams, in the home of a man who lives in the same building as the girl’s family.


The neighbour had kidnapped her while she was playing outside her home.And he had repeatedly raped the child, mutilated her genitals and tried to strangle her. Doctors at Swami Dayanand hospital in Dehli said they found foreign objects inside the girl, including a 200ml bottle and parts of a broken candle.

She also suffered injuries and bruising to her chest, lips and cheeks.

Dr R.K. Bansal who examined the girl said it was ‘one of the worst cases’ he had ever seen, and that the next 48 hours will be crucial in determining her chances of survival.

‘She was scared and not fully conscious,’ he told Hindustani Times.
’Initially, she did not allow us to proceed with the examination as she was in tremendous pain.’

This is the third alleged rape of a minor this month in the Delhi area. Earlier this week a ten-year-old was allegedly raped on a bus after the driver, also in this case a neighbor, lured her away from her home.

Last week another girl, also aged ten, was allegedly raped by a neighbor and then locked in a cell by police after her family tried to report the crimes.

The case triggered protests outside Swami Dayan and hospital with masses condemning the acts of the accused and condemning the government for not providing better care and the police for not acting on the parent’s missing child report.

At least 156 people have been killed and thousands more left injured after a powerful earthquake jolted China's Sichuan province near the same area where a devastating quake struck five years ago.

More than 5,500 people are reported to have been injured in the earthquake which struck mountainous Lushan county shortly after 8am this morning local time, and 19 people have been reported missing in the wake of the tremor. The earthquake toppled buildings, triggered landslides and disrupted phone and power connections in the region.

In a truly unsettling story, a hospital in St Paul, Minnesota accidentally tossed a stillborn baby in with its dirty laundry.

According to a report from Associated Press, the stillborn baby boy was delivered at 22 weeks at Regions Hospital on April 4.

The body was wrapped in linen and sent to the hospital’s morgue but tragically, it was mistaken for laundry, and sent offsite to Crothall Laundry in Red Wing — about 45 miles away — for cleaning.

Frighteningly, the baby’s body was discovered by staff members after it reportedly fell out of a bed sheet.

It is still unclear how such a mix up occurred, and hospital officials were still trying to reach the deceased child’s family. The hospital’s chief nursing officer Chris Boese expressed his apologies in a statement.

“This was a terrible mistake, and we are deeply sorry,” said Boese. “We have processes in place that should have prevented this but did not. We are working to identify the gap in our system, and to make sure this does not happen again.”

“We are really sorry and saddened that this event happened,” Boese added. “This has never happened before that I am aware of, this unfortunate event.”

In the Middle East they are, where they cut hands of thieves off. But here in the Africa and in most other parts of the world they’re not.

Imagine how much grief a thief stealing high tension power lines causes. There could be hundreds of people relying on the power lines he attempted to steal and because of him the power was cut off, now they were unable to cook for their kids or do work that earns them a living. All because someone who couldn’t be bothered to earn money with honest work decided to climb on a utility pole and steal the wiring for himself.

Luckily, in this case instant Karma was in the neighborhood and zapped him. He was found guilty,
sentenced and executed by electric chair all in one instance.
