Nairaland / General / Tidy Your Financial Life Strategies For Beginners by rotormast: 12:55pm On Feb 19, 2019
TIDY YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE Strategies For BeginnersFINANCEIQ ON FEBRUARY 11, 2019

Its up to you to unleash the Superman capabilities that you have. What if you are the next wolf of wall street? Don’t limit yourself or your potentials. I have come to realize that anyone that is tidy and organized has a very high probability of being financially intelligent.

There is a sense of orderliness, goal getting and consistency that follows being organized and tidy.

Dozing while writing this article isn’t a pretty picture, but I am determined to complete this article before going to bed . It’s on my today to-do list and I must be deliberate about my actions ,even if it involves writing it in dreamland .

I noticed a big difference and proper organization in my financial life after a period of consistency and religiously following my set out tasks, and accomplishing them each day. I was propelled to a higher level of financial maturity.

I started by making it a compulsory act to write out my daily plans, which starts with laying my bed immediately after waking up, tidying my apartment, eating breakfast and doing my daily budget before I make any purchase for the day.

It became easier for me after downloading a task schedule app on my phone. I always write out everything I need to do immediately after cleaning and I always make sure that I achieve everything before bed.

What does it involve to be a tidy and organized individual ?

1. You can start by keeping your apartment or house in good shape before you begin your daily activity.

2. Know how much money you intend to spend for the day.

3. Keep cash neatly organized in your purse, wallet or anywhere else. Physical orderliness fosters mental clarity. Storing money neatly fosters clarity as well as emotional and psychological respect for money .

4. Learn to control your feelings whenever you are making purchases. Getting emotionally attached to an item you intend to buy may eat into your into your budget causing overdraft.

5. At the end of the day, go through your tasks and check how well you’ve performed.

Remember ; financial intelligence is the gateway to riches

Investment / Ways To Reinvent Your Hidden Talent, Skill, Convert Talent To Money by rotormast: 12:06pm On Feb 16, 2019
I met a lady on Instagram back in April 2014 who used to arrange wardrobes for as low as 2000, we later became friends. She was younger than I was and was still in her 2nd year in the University. My plan was to help her create wealth with her business..

I advised her to build on herself taught skill by taking advantage of free online interior decoration course. After that, she would design flyers for just a token and distribute it across her campus. This isn’t rocket science and anyone could do it but most people don’t believe you can be self-made without having big bucks in your bank account.

All she needed was just 20 committed clients that can patronise her service monthly. 20 people are enough to refer 20 or more people.

Lets do the calculation

20 people at 2,000 = 40,000

After getting referrals, that amount could go as high as 80,000 or more.

Remember, she’s not buying any items to service her client and this means all the profit belongs to her.

Investment / How To Have A Memorable And Cost Effective Valentine’s Day by rotormast: 8:42am On Feb 14, 2019
I read an article on CNBC where it was projected that Americans will be spending a whooping $20.7 billion on Valentine’s Day. That’s a lot of money to spend in a day. You should be able to show your spouse love everyday, not just on Valentine’s Day.

Before I totally digress from the main purpose of this article, let’s talk about how you can save money on Valentine’s Day. It is believed that couples that save together, stay together.

Indoorcation : Wait! No dictionary will give you the meaning of indoorcation because I only just came up with it. Instead of going out to spend a lot of dough on one meal, you can spice up your Valentine by cooking for bae at home. It’s a romantic season and I’m sure she will find it sexy. Don’t forget to create a romantic atmosphere with candles and soft sweet music. Remember we are trying to save you money .

Display your ingenuity : Don’t be confused. I know you are good at something. I’m assuming you know how to write a short love letter, create a poem and if you can sing , write and sing a song for your partner.

Give the gift of service: If you want to have a heartfelt time with your partner, why not spend time giving back to the community together. The benefit of doing things together is creating new memories which keeps your relationship fresh and at the end of the day, you don’t get to spend a dime. There are lots of volunteering works around you, go online or ask your friends about it.

Parkation : I really need to stop coming up with meaningless words, but you have to pardon me just this time. There are lots of free parks where you can go sit and chill with bae. You can also go along with wine and snacks, this will never be as expensive as visiting a restaurant and you will still get to enjoy your Val. day with your boo

Be spontaneous and keep the price low: there are lots of spots around your city that you may not ordinarily want to explore but you can spice things up by exploring this places during this valentine season. An example is the famous cooked food market by Allen round about in Lagos. The food is cheap and the exciting memory of going to sit down there to eat will create an unforgettable experience.

She did upfront medical and her profile was not updated till passport request.

Me : Good morning Ma'am

Vo : good morning, can I have your passport please

Vo : What's the purpose of your travel

Me: holiday

VO : Do you have any family or friend in the U.S

Me: Yes , a friend

Vo : what does your friend do in the U.S

Me: He's in the Navy

Vo : how old is your friendship

Me: a little over 6 years

Vo : how did you two meet

Me: we have a mutual friend and later became buddys

Vo : Can I see the passport you used when you were denied visa 5 years ago

Me: I don't have it here but I have a copy of the data page and passed it to her

Vo: can you explain the name change

Me: explained and passed legal documents to back up my claim while talking to her

She started typing very fast and returned the documents

Vo: what do you do

Me: I am so so so

She asked more question on what I do; I explained in just three words

Vo: where will you be staying

Me: with my friend in OK

Vo: what does he do for a living

Me : told her again

Vo: how much is your salary

Me: told her how much I earn monthly

Vo: Your visa has been approved today and you can pick your passport bla bla bla

Me: is that all or is there more?

she laughed and said that's all but don't forget to pick your passport

Me: I laughed and said I won't forget

Everyone in the hall was looking at me like an alien while walking out of the room

Picked up my passport already

My first SOP was too long; I wrote an epistle. This time around, I only introduced myself with just my name, why I want to go to canada and also gave them reasons why I wont stay in Canada after my studying. I was very brief and I tried not to take in internet informations cos there are just too many infos and if you keep wanting to write the perfect SOP, you will definitely make a mistake. I was honest and straight forward and Brief.

I prayed before and after writing it. I even wrote it at the early hours of my submission date

You will be amazed at the heavy and huge presence they have in other African countries unlike in Nigeria. You have to visit countries like South Africa, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya : just to mention a few. If you check the statistics, you will also notice that the afore-listed countries have universities that are ranked higher than any Nigerian University.

Business / Re: I have been Scammed by Austin Chukuma (Nairaland @Drisklef) by rotormast: 10:56am On Jul 25, 2018
I honestly do understand the fact that you are not happy about what you may perceive as unfair judgement (banning the accused) but it will only be fair if you were standing in the middle and not leaning towards the accused.

I followed this thread and I saw where the Op said he posted about * transaction with the accused going sour*. Note that the Op had not posted the accused pictures at this time. The accused was caught viewing the post and he didn't respond **** ( this proof that he had access to internet)**** and could have responded to the post to savage the whole situation before it escalated but ****he choose not to****

Immediately after he received funds from the Op, he went offline and ****couldn't be reached**** but in one of the accused replies, he claim that **** he used an app that freezes whatsapp to ****freeze his whatsapp****

Bear in mind that it was after the Op saw him viewing his initial post that he got infuriated and had to go ahead to ***call him a scammer***

Even after the name calling, the accused still didn't respond until a few people started defending him online ( I read the comments )

He had every medium to settle with the Op offline but ***he never did***.

Saying the accused might have chosen not to reply because he may be angry is a criminal offence.

There was an agreement for the accused to pay immediately after he receives the accuser' s service or product but he didn't live up to agreement ****over 48 hours after****

Even if the accused decides to pay today, i can categorically say that he had a criminal motive * based on the evidence presented by the accuser and the Facebook chat screenshot between the Op and the accused.

About the banning, Nairaland has laws and one of the law states that it is illegal to have two accounts. Either you point fingers at the Mod or not, I'm sure she can defend her actions...

I'm a one man mopo and ain't defending anyone, I'm not just in support of criminality.

If this case was to be taken to the Police station, the accused will be detained.

It's also very sad that of people are calling the money involved **just 10500** I don't know if i should call it lack of exposure or maybe the *Nigerian Bug* has eaten deep into their brains....... money is money, regardless of the denomination

fluentinfor:

Well said.

Let us return to the basis. Check OP's first message. Pictures all over the place, bank details... info...info.... info. If it was you, what would you do? This is the bone of contention? The main issue sir. Also, look at the places he had sent the whole thing to. Do you keep shouting everywhere when a case has been taking up by a court in the country? Thst judge will lock you up to learn patience. And it will not affect the case a bit.

You know this has damaged you already. First post has damaged you beyond any remedy. Tell me. Answer sir.

Is it not enough to make you say "To heck nairaland?"

So, how has banning him helped? Don't you want to hear his story?

This mod's action is super provocative. You don compose long epistle, and you kon press submit button, and it kon show, "u no fit post again because you have been banned", under such tension? Walahi, when you return you would curse all her generations. Take it, or leave it sir. It is easy for you to say he has enough time. Sir, pray it doesn't happen to you. You need to cool down first before you respond. Else, na insults go come out of your mouth. Do you not get it? A good lawyer will defend this accused neatly, and clear him.

Sir, you still do not know if the issue has been boiling between them. There might have been tension in their private chat. OP might have issued threats. "I will destroy you on nairaland, i will show all the world you are a bastard, I will do this, i will do that...etc" Tension! Tension!! Tension!!! Just read OP's statements too naoooo. OP no curse the guy? And OP carried out his threats. Waoooo! He gave you the first blow be that oooo. Wetin go be your state of mind? On top, you dey see your picture, your accounts details too. May be your small sister don see am, and she don hint mom and dad. Chai! Tell me wetin go be your state of mind. Answer bro!

Just a little patience. If it does not nail well, just a little more patience.

This mod is ....... (fill in the gap).

I repeat, if I was the accused, I would cool down. Ha! I would comply. Maybe after 3 days, I would return. I would do "yes ma to the goddess of nairaland". I would exonerate my self. Then, I would pounce on OP. After sinking him, I would face mod and his employer. Ha! Dem go think a don forget. But a go pile up evidences. One day, you go just read say court don order the closure of the almighty nairaland. Walahi.

Na patience a go take collapse everyone who tarnished my image. 5 years, we dey on am oooo.

But if I was the mod, and anyone came to rubbish my boss' business....see, a go die there defending my boss. I would stand by him like a rock. Na me a dey tell u about. A no know about you. But doing this requires sound judgement everytime. To stand by ones boss requires some traits. Seun, you better beware of who you employ before you pay dearly soon.

And if I was Seun, my axe is already out. Because of this case, I would re- evaluate everyone. I am not perfect, but I would do what is right at the time. No matter what it would cost me.

I will keep responding to all posts here if I am not careful with the way this is going. Honestly, I am out. Gush!!!

I am so disappointed here. Honestly, I am.

Just a little more patience!

Well, i think the Mod should have given him more time to explain himself better and at thesame time, this is a forum and not an intelligence unit of a uniform formation.

The accused was given ample time to explain himself but he never did.

If I was accused wrongly, The first thing I would do is to tender facts to proof my innocence but he never did .

The accused could insult his accuser while he was in church but couldn't explain and proof his innonce in a short article.

The accused was asked to submit a picture proof of his wallet Details but still never did.

In as much as I'm trying not to take sides; I do believe that the accused hasn't done enough on his part.

About the ban, if i was in his shoes, the moment I get to create a new account, i will use the opportunity to tender all my proofs but he never did.

Even if the accused is innocent, his preceding actions shows that he has alot to answer.

And to everyone saying he needed to be given a long time to explain himself.. here is how it works:

If you are being invited by the police to give your own account of an accusation and you resort to delay tactics , you can be detained if the allegation is *Theft*

People should stop saying its small money. Alot of people are doing time for stealing of defrauding others for a mere 2000 naira. I'm not saying the system is sane but things like this happens everyday..

As far as I'm concerned and based on the aforementioned, the accused is guilty until proven innocent
