"Na wa o. You must be one fine girl. How many nights did it take with the executives of these banks?? I mean, how was the interview in the house of these executives ? "

I never expected anything positive to come out of this frustrated cat. 'It' never sees anything good in the Nigerian financial institution. When will you grow up? Why not get your own N25b and start your own bank and sanitise whatever you feel needs reformation.

@ Reader,

In general, go for Ecobank, Zenith, Fidelity and Unity in that order.

If you want a career in banking and you want to be well trained, go for only Ecobank.

If all you want is money and prestige during your service year, go for Zenith or Fidelity.

If you want to continue in banking but not necessarily in top flight or within the big league, then Unity should be your choice.

this is the proof that obama is the anti-christ

Isn't this the dumbest thing that someone can use to convince me about Obama being the Anti-Christ: linking me to the blog and official website of John McCain? Now I know where the rumour is emanating from; talk of giving the dog a bad name in order to hang it!

Politics / Re: "Resign Now!", Pastor Bakare Tells Yar’adua! by Ruddyface(f): 10:49pm On Sep 10, 2008
Let us not fold our hands. Let's rather gather and vote our opinion of whether we want Yar'adua to continue or go back home. If we, on this forum, disapprove of his continued stay, we can convey our feelings to the government via the people's parliamentary verdict. This way, the man can know that his country home in Katsina or his real home in Kaduna should welcome him back.

As for cry cry cry ing Nigerians, you got what you deserve, what with the way visionary leaders like Donald Duke (tested and found true) and Pat Utomi (green but promising) were treated. What about Ribadu and Dora Akunyili? Wait and see what they would do to Charles Soludo the moment he leaves office next year.

This is the most retrogressive government in Nigeria's chequered history! Several governors would have done better than Yar'adua: Ahmed Mohd Makarfi, Adamu Muazu, Bola Tinubu, Donald Duke, Sam Egwu this one, that one ,
Religion / Re: What If Obama Is The Anti-Christ? by Ruddyface(f): 10:33pm On Sep 08, 2008
The AntiChrist is supposed to be Jewish but would come from Babylon the Great- Mother of All Prostitutes, the Ch*rch in R*me! He would certainly be a charismatic leader and loved by all initially. He would win the hearts of many, even the very elect. He would be of impeccable records - for he has been prepared for this role from the beginning. He would have nothing about him that appears as a blemish, he would be Semitic.

Worrying about his personality would not change his identity or his mission. It most likely is not Obama. People have thought in the past that it was Hitler and some others - a colleague once said with definite assurance in 1990 that he was sure it was Henry Kissinger. Same person told me in 1992 that it would be George Bush Snr.

My guess, he would originate from a country in the current G8 which would add two more countries soon to be G10. This particular statement is not necessarily by revelation but an escatological guess.

Do you think giving alms would encourage some to be receivers of alms and therefore become lazy and dependant?

Remember, giving precedes receiving and there are receivers only because there are givers. Discuss.

Analytical and Daruche, thanks for your previous contributions. God bless you. cheesy

Finecat:

That is a whole lot of Bull crap you just vomitted. I can succesfully employ you and 10 bank workers. Nigerian banks and managements are a true reflections of the Nigerian Govt. lies lies and more lies. I wish the banks well but only if they can be truthful and practise in good faith. YOU MY FRIEND OBVIOUSLY KNOWS NOTHING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR DEFENDING YOUR BOYFRIEND'S EMPLOYERS (BANKS). I refuse to argue any further with a naive individual.

Mr Finedog/cat,

Your outburst makes me laugh. grin grin grin grin Now I believe for sure that you are a frustrated individual! Your tone betrays you. So you want to employ me? That's nice, you must be very, very, very rich wink wink . Please don't even bother adding any other person to it, let alone 10 bankers as you boasted. My bill is seven figures per month when converted to Nigerian naira. cool cool cool

Oh, I wasn't defending banks because they are my boyfriend's employers as you alleged, they are my clients. For your info I am a consultant that has had modest achievements for my age. I have a PhD in Monetary Economics and run a successful consultancy outfit. So do you still want to employ me? What, if I may ask, makes you think that you have knowledge of the industry when you could not even address issues but engaged in mere speculations that have no realistic basis or iota of truth.

No wonder it is said that even a fool is thought wise if only he keeps quiet.

While I think things are quite bad in Nigeria, I also think this poster's report is heavily flawed, lacks validity, and stems from someones frenzied imaginations. The targets purported as being is definitely a joke. And for your information, much as alot of slightly comfortable Nigerians work in the banking sector, most banks are still much understaffed. So my friend, relax and stop causing unnecessary panic. smiley

Don't mind the poster (Finecat or is it Finedog?), he is filled with delusion. People just speak out of envious speculations, they do not even know the industry well. Is banking all about cash transactions that ATMs would almost replace people? When the machines cash out, who would reload them? Machines? Not even in the US is that done.

Would machine also take up functions of treasury operations, credit booking, credit risk management, legal, HR, financial control, internal control, systems security management, IT, applications management, corporate services and communications, audit/ inspection, physical security, property management and transport pool management e.t.c

Ignorance is really a disease. We still recruit people for banks in droves. This is the sector that has done the most for Nigerian graduates. Go and see what V***fone and co are doing to Nigerian graduates, they trek round towns and cities on peanut salaries with promises to make their appointments permanent only if they meet set target over a period. And they don't mind how this is achieved.

I am serious about connecting the poster if he is so bitter about his not being employed by any bank, even Un**n Bank, which is also recruiting at the moment.

I have another poser: Should Christians give alms? If no, why? If yes, to whom and how?

Please answers should be accurate, brief and concise. They could also be educative, enlightening and entertaining.

I used to think that the media is the last hope for truth in the nation but Saturday Tribune's BS on the topic has thrown that hope away! How can a newspaper just go to the newsroom laboratory and cook up such stories and attribute their sources to faceless, nameless 'reliable' sources.

A paper that ought to be informing people does not even know how many banks there are in Nigeria. Do we still have 25 banks? Psst hisses.

@ Poster,

If you are looking for a job in the bank and could not get one, and re-produced all that in jealousy, hit me I will try to connect you as I consult for some of the banks.

Nigerians and badbelle! Mmmh.

Yar'adua is an indecisive, weak, double speaking man. He sleeps while Turai, James and Bukola call the shots right from his own room!

He is a stop gap president as he was as a governor. he got the state allocation and returned most of it. He would not even make a good banker! He does not have what it takes to rule Nigeria. We got what we deserve !

Though in his 50s, he does not even possess the physical strength of the 72 year-old OBJ! Haba! One of the first things he did as a president was to reduce the frequency of the FEC meetings - he could not withstand the stress!

I didn't - and still do not admire OBJ - but he was like a superstar beside Yar'adua(the man who did what every Nigerian leader from Gowon ran away from doing - haplessly handing a part of his country to another, when the Senate had already given him the excuse he needed not to comply).

One wonders whether this president would have obeyed the ICJ if the decision were over Jibia in Katsina State and not Bakassi!

Pssst! Hisses

Analytical, i understand your message. I am still a member of the house but might not be able to say anything on any issue, we are deliberating on . lipsrsealed.
The bible says in quietness lie your strenght,

I Thessalonians 5:26 Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss. kiss

Here you go again. The fact that people don't totally accept your views does not mean that they do not accept your person.

I believe you are a fan of Paul as he is of Christ. You can learn a lesson or two from him. Paul spoke in Athens and Corinth and not all the people agreed with him. He did not take off, he stood still and even the Lord had to speak to him thus:"Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no-one is going to attack you and harm you because I HAVE MANY PEOPLE IN THIS CITY"emphasis mine.

One of the success factors of Paul's ministry was his dynamism. He was as much at home with a Roman or a Greek as he was with a Hebrew. No wonder he chose Timothy, a son of a Greek man, as his PA - a thing many Nigerian leaders can learn from; most of them have their PAs from their villages!

Paul related with Governors, fellow Lawyers and Fishermen, each in the language he would understand - without grandstanding or being ostentatious. To the Jew he was a Jew, to the slave (though he was free born) he was like a slave.

@ Analytical,

You are a gentleman. kiss

@ Gamine,

How are you my friend?
