I don't think toyin and aramide count as everybody in this sense. They spearheaded the whole campaign na. Why did the family wait till they finished raising the money before denying both of them access to Mayowa. People donated on good faith so even if you feel the family should be allowed to spend the money as they deem fit, it will send a wrong signal to people helping them. If a situation like this arises again, people will be skeptical to donate, trust me. The family is shady af IMO. What is wetting is wrong.

I am not disputing the fact Toyin and Aramide spearheaded the whole campaign, there is a Yoruba adage that says "A ki i se ore tan ka tun joko ti". They have done their part, it is now left for the family to spend the money on the sick lady in peace without us telling them what or what not to do. In my opinion, the family are very confused at the moment.
Celebrities / Re: Savemayowa: Toyin Aimakhu Releases Statement Apologising To Nigerians by S1mOne(f): 2:02pm On Jul 30, 2016

I wish we all read a press statement released by LASUTH ? If you read it, nobody will come here to allege Toyin Aimakhu of fraud. LASUTH didn't refer Mayowa Ahmed to any hospital anywhere in the world. To our medical experts here in Nigeria, they felt her case could only be sorted out by divine intervention and gone beyond medical treatment being in stage 4. But it was very obvious that the family didn't want to spend the money and not achieving positive result in the end. Hence there change of mind to divert the money, share it and rope Toyin Aimakhu. Toyin Aimakhu knew the power of social media in these present days and wouldn't have done anything stupid. Her career is much important than travelling abroad with Mayowa for no reason.

I have not read where the family said LASUTH referred the patient abroad. They posted test results from different hospitals while soliciting for help, you can see these results on Bellanaija. If this happened to a member of your family, would you not like seek a second opinion? Can you prove that the family wanted to share the money? According to Toyin, the NGO lady told her she suspected it is a scam, the NGO lady is not happy with the way Linda Ikeji reported it.

I know of a tribe in south west. It's name start with Y and end with A, you can find the word ROBBER among the pronunciation.

Can we stop with this tribal sentiment already. This can happen to anybody. The NGO lady concluded this was a scam because the family requested for privacy, the patient does not have a visa, the family told the matron they are taking her abroad and a family member gave a conflicting figure of the amount raised.
They will request for privacy because too many people wanted to help which is not free. I wonder how many kind Nigerians have given them addresses or phone numbers of their Pastors or Imams. My point is they cannot accept offer of help from everybody. I probably missed when the family released a statement that 30 million was raised instead of 85 million. If a member of the family came forward with the figure, was the person privy to the total amount in the account, was he the family's spokesperson. The patient cannot apply for a visa until they pay the hospital and they will then be sent an invitation letter. They told the Matron they are taking her abroad because that was the plan. There is no point having further tests (which is not free and can take days or months) if there is already an alternative arrangement.
People have done their part contributing the little they have to help this sick Nigerian. In my opinion the family should be left alone to spend the money for her recovery as they deem fit, this is no time asking the confused family for accountability. If you have ever been in this position you will understand how overwhelming it can be with hundreds of people offering to help at a time when you are already depressed and confused.
The NGO lady should understand though she is a part of this, she is clearly not the only one asking questions and trying to give advice to this family. I wonder if a judge can convict this family of fraud based on these evidence. This is clearly a sad case for all the parties involved.

I read everything about this case. My deduction:

1. The lady has been taken to different hospitals prior to the call for help
2. The hospital in the US was contacted but an invitation letter will only be sent once the deposit is paid
3. The family will not be able to apply for a visa without an invitation letter from the hospital so they need the money first
4. According to her brother's message that was circulated while soliciting for the fund (someone posted the message on Nairaland), Dubai was a second choice for logistic reasons
5. The sick lady took the first step seeking for help
6. The NGO lady took her to LUTH
7. The family were overwhelmed with NGOs offering to help (but with a cut of the fund), hence the request for privacy

In my opinion, the NGO lady was clearly upset that she was no longer being involved but she should have handled the matter differently. Accusing the family of fraud is a very serious allegation. The sick lady and her family are going through a lot and are confused at the moment. They need counselling, not too many people bombarding them with advice at this very difficult time.
