Clearly, the investments in the oil and gas would continue to increase. Left to banks, their principal role as an intermediary between the rich and poor would have been scrapped as its not viable for them.

Mehnn!!! ideas are dying with the common man.

I'm Christian; but to be true with us, religion has a way of dimming ones mind and make u very bleak and dismal in reasoning; it doesn't help u delve into that pool of inquisition, to find answers to the unknown; reason why most inventors whose ideas have changed mankind are atheist ; and Africa which is very religion have always lived in mediocrity and have never invented anything to help humanity...

Bro... This here is a very wrong statement....most inventors that the black man are familiar with that influenced the way we live are Christians or they believe there is a God......from Einstein to isaac newton, to Michael faraday, even Charles darwin was a seminary student before he veered of course....pls correct this honest mistake as u have not helped the christian course you confessed you believe in.....even bill gates believe in God.

I'm dismissing such nonsense. Because I made the challenge, I said, "There is no JESUS CHRIST". Now either prove me wrong or prove that such a thing exists?

I'll be waiting on your response, hopefully with evidence. Ase.

Loooolz....hey king, how do you prove that someone actually existed say 300 years ago.....now extrapolate till 2000 years. Infact "history" as we currently know it is in his terms. No university professor will doubt the existence of Jesus....believe me atheists have gone past the level of questioning if jesus actually exists....we are 2016 years after the death of Jesus.....ase.

okay?
I won't even quote the scriptures here as I would not be fair to quote what u do not accept, but then if a nation including secularists within that time admitted jesus was no ordinary man by the miracles he did. Wouldn't any sincere, truth-finding person desire to know what he his driving at and why his people possibly rejected him. You have given fair hearing to the other side balanced judgement posits u hearing documented statements supporting him and then picking out places that things do not add-up by his followers. It may seem tedious but someone that evidently did miracles a nation, including secularists could not deny should have a fair hearing if he says he arose from the dead........pls talk to me.

hopefulLandlord:

yeah, you're right bro

that explains why the Jews don't regard Jesus as the Messiah, they read the bible properly and witnessed it unlike you that had tales told retold, revised, summarised, retold many times over and handed over to you

but you must be more correct than those that saw Jesus die, Amirite?

Clean discourse....my bro, good u know this, my question is did the bible document about 2000 years ago the fact that they did not accept him? Yes. U know that. Then I am sure you know that the jews actually regard jesus till this day as a prophet meaning the miracles recorded are true.....what they currently reject is the fact that he is God's son. I hope u are also aware of this?
Religion / Re: What Does The Name Jesus Mean To You? by Sagacity07: 4:53pm On Dec 18, 2016
Gradually I am becoming inclined to consider that an atheist (in nigeria) only reinforces his belief in atheism without considering/researching the solidity, historically and evidentially of their faith (christian). They seem to want to be free from the shackles of religion but the other ideology that got to them first was atheism.
Religion / Re: What Does The Name Jesus Mean To You? by Sagacity07: 4:46pm On Dec 18, 2016
KingSango:

There is no JESUS CHRIST.

There's mounting evidence that this story is a complete frabrication of Romans now known as Italians. Also their Astromony and Cosmosology is fake.

Have you heard of Josephus, if so, so josephus the historian connived with the romans to create such myth.......if you as a fisherman 7000 years ago were told that one day, man would fly, would you believe? Humility to "hear" (read) supporting evidences for the scripture and prove them wrong is one problem I have with atheists. RESEARCH AND PROVE THAT THE SUPPORTING EVIDENCES FOR THE SCRIPTURE ARE A HOAX, THEN WE WILL GO FROM THERE.

It means nothing to me, He's just a fictional character created by the Romans at the council of Nicea in AD 325

If you'll attack me... come at me with facts undecided

Lol....I don't intend attacking you....but just so you know the bible is the most corroborated book supported by many other documents till date. Jesus was an historical figure that existed......if you truly want to learn, read about the documents and facts that verify the existence of characters in the bible...u do not judge by reading one side of an argument.....read about the veracity of the bible then prove the supporting facts are wrong. Wish you Luck.

Contd.....

I think the problem is trust, the uncanny nature of some unsrupulous men to take advantage of this and set-up their own churches for selfish gain. So my advice is go to a church you can trust. And this is my advice as a christian to you, I understand u have to be resilient in other not to be silenced but christ did not enjoin us to be overly "abusive" in our word use when communicating our views....pls mellow on that dear brother. (even with those of A contrary opinion. It may take time but ur resolve to change must prevail). Aside this, remember there was a time in the world "as poor as a church rat was used. Now the true ministers that understand the word better have changed such perception but as usual Satan will always try to smear it b4 the eyes of the world. They did to Jesus(the pharisees). Pls do not join them. Never assume a strong/caustic stance b4 hearing others, no matter how tempting.......much love.
Religion / Re: Does A Nigerian Pastor Truly Need A Private Jet? by Sagacity07: 2:50pm On Dec 18, 2016
Toks2008:
The issue of money and how its being spent in the body of christ can not just be treated with a kid glove, i have seen numerous xtians who have left the faith cos of money issue. Believe me God is interested in how the church handles the issue of money.

I cant just wrap my brain around the fact that despite the presence of many Jobless youths in the church and members who lack basic needs of life that a pastor will dim it fit to acquire a private jet that cost millions of dollars not forgetting the millions of naira involved in servicing the jet and paying for the parking space.I have come to conclude that pastors who own private jets in Nigeria are materialistic, worldly, callous and highly insensitive to the plights of the members and a total embarrassment to the Christendom.

IF I WERE GOD, NO NIGERIAN PASTOR WHO PURCHASED A JET WILL MAKE IT TO HEAVEN because the primary duty of the church is to fend for the members spiritually and physically with the resources of the church but today we see little or nothing being done to help the church members in need yet many Pastors living large at the expense of the church members which has turned many churches to Business centers rather than worship centers.Isaiah 56:11 They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, they seek their own gain.

Well maybe i am just ignorant about the subject matter...but this trend of private jet being owned by "men of God" is worth debating as its a source of concern in the Christian fold,so lets hear your views, in a very civilized manner..Does A Nigerian Pastor Truly Need A Private Jet and where do they get the money to buy it?

Hello toks, good question though it seems already colored.....you see I was very much of this opinion until I got to understand better the word of God. Now is it a sin to own a private jet? No. Is it a sin for a pastor to have a private jet? No. (this part is quite easy until u doubt the integrity of the men of God with private jet.) now, in Nigeria, u will agree with me that we naturally are against anybody being wealthy. We tend to pull down rather than push-up. Our perception is already tinted with angst towards the rich. So now did jesus(our example) use an expensive gift, yes he did.(remember the perfume). Did Paul encourage the church leaders to receive gifts from its members? Yes. I am not a member of these churches but as a christian yourself it would not do any good to "assume" they are using church funds because if they have not been a blessing to the individual lives of this massive people, they would not continue with them. I know the principle of sowing and how it is more blessed to give than to receive so.........

clerics1:
well, I am happy for you guys that were able to make it to this level.
I expect(ed) to be a participant too(still expecting), but have not got any mail from dragnet; when an uncle of mine who happens to be a manager of a zone of firstbank troubleshot to know the problem, he said that, my name was not found on the list of successful applicants, and inquired to know if I saw a message showing after applying showing that my application was successful, in which I attested to.
Lucky for me, I even downloaded my profile after the application and sent it to him there and then for which he printed went through and sent to someone who might have something to do on it. I did some preparations for the exam that's my concern, and I appeared eligible with a bachelor of eng. with 2.1 and less than the maximum age with NYSC completed about two months now.

whatever gets to be the case, I sincerely will pray God to help all those that have crossed this stage to get to the point of receiving an offer from the bank.

Goodluck!

Sorry dear but with what you said so far.....your application being successful means your application has been received pending approval...not short-listing. That you downloaded does not mean anything unless you were sent a mail saying your application has been selected for the next stage. Hope I clarified?

Very easy, from anywhere in ogba, just find your way to ogba garage @ the retail market. Ask for bus going to CMS.

Drop at last bus stop in CMS. From there ask for the bus garage at CMS. You will see green or white buses. Just tell them you are going to lekki phase 1. Goodluck

Thanks "awesomely".

. I started from page 1to page 40 where you made this statement.....I can say confidently that it is not aversion to scriptures as people had. Been initially appreciating you for the knowledge rendered but rather your disposition to opposing opinions and using "hard" words such as calling a fellow believer a simpleton(pls check the meaning), gullible, e.t.c. U so far speak truth but not with the spirit of truth. I did it before, so I know how it is. Blessed be.

Hello bro, I can't help but smile.... I really admire atheists that try to be rational so from here on I would try to be rational with you and please try to be the same with me....would you have imagined that man would be capable of flight if u were born a fisherman 7000 years ago? I think our ability to realise that we are both (Christians and atheists) limited by knowledge would help us in forging ahead to obtaining true enlightenment.

As a member since 1999, I know the church already has the C of O. The issue now is a moral issue of paying the real owners of the land but court rulings can be bought and sold. The issue is however a moral one they seem to want to "black-mail" the pastor. If it was not for relogious purpose this people have no say as the C. Of O has already been issued.

For those saying why did God not tell him? Listen to yourself....Even if u are an atheist u must realise that u can't be great without battles to fight....if u are a christian, e mean say u no seat down for Sunday school wen dem they teach how Joshua possessed the promised land...lol.
