YouTube has released  an offline version of its app to its visitors in developing countries across the globe where internet connectivity is still a challenge.


The new app has a completely unique feature and design that allows YouTube viewers  to download and save content  they want offline giving options over quality and file size. The app additionally lets in for neighborhood sharing with nearby users without the use of any data.



According to blog post from the company’s official website, YouTube Go was created to be relatable with fresh and relevant video recommendations tailored to viewers preferences; the app is designed to be offline first and improve the experience of watching videos on a slower network; it gives you more control over data usage by providing choice and transparency into the amount of data spent on streaming or saving videos. And finally, it’s social allowing you to share videos quickly and easily with friends nearby.


YouTube Go has now become available across Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. In coming weeks, it will also arrive in Senegal and Uganda. Given that it is intended for developing countries where majority of the devices are on Android, the app is available on Android devices only and not in the other operating systems.

Facebook has said it'll train and guide over 50,000  students, small businesses( SMEs ) and creative marketers throughout Nigeria in 2018.

Nigeria Women's Bobsled team have qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games which will take place at PyeongChang

Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, and Akuoma Omeoga wrote their names in the history books by becoming the first African team to qualify for the bobsled category, after completing the required 5 races

Their first qualifying race was in the North America Cup in Park City, Utah where Seun and her brakeman Akuoma completed 2 races in January. They went on to Whistler, Canada for their second track where Adigun and brakeman, Onwumere were the only team to complete the first race. Their hard work paid off in Calgary when they completed their fourth and fifth races for a place at the 23rd Winter Olympic games in Pyeongchang South Korea.

​Profile Creation from Home by Candidates Using Cellphones – Text (SMS):​

He condemned the attitude of some CBT center owners who connived with candidates to cheat during examination, explaining that the introduction of electronic jammers was an additional measures taken by the Board to eliminate examination malpractices and and maintain the integrity of the UTME.

He said there were also reported cases of extortion of candidates by some CBT owners as some of them allegedly charged candidates “gate fee” of N1,000 before allowed into examination.
The JAMB Registrar said that in addition to telephone and other materials prohibited in examination sessions, electronic gadgets, device, and any form of pen, were also prohibited while eye glasses are to be scrutinised.

He disclosed that the electronic jammers and other equipment have been procured while experts would be brought from Sierra Leone for the screening of eye glasses, which the Register said some candidates now use for cheating in examination.
Oloyede, said: “Having examined that all logistics are put in place for a smooth exercise, Management would strictly adhere to the sale period.

“Therefore, all critical stakeholders are advised to cooperate, collaborate, support and assist the Board in this direction. All State Governors, legislators, philanthropists who plan to purchase and distribute application documents should note the date of sale and its duration.

“The application fees remains N5,000, just as the Reading Text is still N500. The application fee is inclusive of the commission of N300 paid on each application to the selling points,” he said.
He noted that there were serious attempts to subvert and derail the Board during the conduct of the last UTME, urging particularly the internal agents of such interest to desist from their evil plot as the Board is determined not to accommodate any level of corrupt practices.
