Health / Covid 19 Vaccines by SamJed(m): 10:10am On Mar 11, 2021
So i saw this image about the vaccines. I am not about the development or use of vaccines for the pandemic but why use the one that are not yet "approved". Some countries like ours are using the Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine and its clearly still in its development phase. Are we just doing trial and error or let it just be that we are taking vaccine??

I stay in one of the affected communities. I don't know why people are blaming PHEDC and even blaming Wike. The problem was not from PHEDC. Some guys went and damaged the transmission lines to a very large extent. So it was the duty of the TCN to repair it. For me PHEDC has been very good in giving us constant light prior to this issue. But thank God sha the light has come back

Romance / Please Let's Not Feel Triggered: My Clarifications by SamJed(m): 5:48pm On Jan 04, 2021
I posted a thread earlier today. I took my time to go through all the comments and I want to make some clarifications. I love teaching children and even as a computer scientist, children are part of my 'calling'.

https://www.nairaland.com/6344616/pupils-almost-put-me-trouble

First I think we should leave out the 'Nigerian mentality' here. Here is why:

I noticed people criticising teaching with phones and Youtube. I teach in an 'elite' school and we are trained to teach with the different methods of learning.

Do you know as a teacher you can relieve yourself from much talk with just a video? Not everyone one learns by just writing on the board. I know most of us were not brought up with the internet, but from my experience, the internet has aided children of this century in learning faster.

Also some people were criticising the fact that I allow the children near me. Remember that I am teaching primary school children, experience has taught me that the closer you are to them, the more eager they are to learn from you and the more comfortable to learn they will be.

Yes I know we will get triggered when I said that a little girl sat on my laps. I know my boundaries and I don't allow such. That acts was just a random act and it has not repeated since then. But what if I told you that I hug my children, both male and female. I give them high fives, thumbs up. I guess most of you will beat your daughter if she comes back with a gift from me for coming tops of any challenge I give?

By the way I am a professional, so for those who even brought up the idea, the thought of erection and stuffs doesn't even cross my head.

Lastly, I also noticed people getting triggered too for calling the girls little ladies and I laughed. I guess you have not seen me calling the girls little Princess and princes.

Do you know that they are even happy when you talk them into seeing themselves as wonderful boys and girls.

On a lighter note, I am not a pedophile, grin and trust me, you will feel comfortable with your daughters around me ; But then lets not be keyboard warriors.

I am an adult and know boundaries but let's leave the Nigerian mentality one side. I can't and will never do anything wrong with the students especially the female one's.

I guess some people will be triggered when I tell them that a parent gave me a hundred thousand when their daughter came up among the best five in the class. What did I do? Simple. I sweet talked her. Told her how beautiful and intelligent she is and how she will be dad and mom's angel if she improves in her performance.

Children needs to be in their comfort positions to be able to learn. I hope I am clear enough.

Your kids, pupils or students? I am confused. We refer to kids in primary as pupils.

You need to be sacked immediately.
I call them kids, pupils or anyone...the same way you can decide to call your relatives, sisters and brothers

Education / My Pupils Almost Put Me In Trouble by SamJed(m): 10:37am On Jan 04, 2021
So I am a primary 4 classroom teacher and I love my children and ensure that they learn in the best way possible.

Most times I gather them around me and tell them some real life lesson, current events, science, stories, and even show them YouTube videos of some topics or discussion we had.

I was just reminiscing about what these children have done to me innocently that almost put me in trouble.

One day, before teaching a particular topic, I decided to watch some YouTube videos. One of the talkative's in the class managed to find her way to my table and saw me watching the videos.

She went back to her classmates and of all things to tell her classmates, she told them that she saw me watching a video with two naked girls and a man.

Damn cheesy cheesy It was just youtube videos. I don't know what she saw that made her conclude such. I had to quickly call all the kids together and show them what i was watching, because I knew that from class it will definitely get to their houses and that could be the start of some problem.

Another day, one of the little ladies wrote me a letter detailing how she likes my teaching and don't want me to go. According to her, I should keep teaching her till she leaves the school.

She kept asking me for a reply. I still wonder how I wriggled out of that situation.

Another one was another little lady coming to sit on my leg and gbam it spread... I initially waved it off till the proprietress called me to be wary of the kids

The little guys don't have problem apart from always reminding me of the gifts I promised them for whoever comes out best in any challenge I give.

So guys have you ever been put into trouble by kids lipsrsealed

ScamHunter:
If you hire people here for your projects, you should beware of one chap who is perpetually involved in writing scams. He claims to be a writer but he's more into scam than writing. He asked to be hired for our project. I did hire him but he was sending plagiarized content. I saw the first set of articles looking good and paid him not realizing that he was copying other sites (instead of rewriting). I think my mistake was paying him without checking the articles.

When I wanted to use the said articles, they failed routine scrutiny, so I had to rewrite myself. When he sent in the second, that was when I realized that he intentionally copies published content and sells to those that employ him. I had forgotten about him but he showed up again as we are hiring this week with his usual tricks and I checked our records and found he is the same chap.

Seriously, if you do not check the jobs they give you, people like this would ruin years of work for you. The community should be wary of this man and many others like him.

I stopped reg at a point because the travel industry was shut down for months and they expect me to provide proof of payment for at least 3 months. I do not think they reason at all. Moreover sometimes I pay with cash even before the Coronavirus. If govt help is not coming to hetbloan to expand and keep business going in this country is a hog war.
you should have uploaded any proof that you had. My employer pays us by hand but we normally have a book where we sign that we have been paid. That was what was uploaded as her own proof. Today we have all received our alerts

I also noticed my business CAC status have been verified.

What could these mean?
earlier today I checked too and saw that the employees names were removed but some of us were not paid. But I just received my payment just now. I think you should relax, probably anytime this week you should get yours or even today sef

This is not a question of being corrupt or not it's about understanding the country you leave in. Ok tell me, how many msmes in Nigeria can pay between 30 to 50k to their staff? Very few right. What happens to msmes that pay below this range and find it difficult to pay salary due to Covid-19 pandemic? You don't expect them to sit and fold their arms, they would look for ways to creep into the scheme because the government was not fair to all in the first place.
bro this is not a cogent reason at all. The instruction was to put the amount been paid. Doing another thing apart from that is simply wrong. Let us not get used to doing the wrong thing on the excuse of a "corrupt" system.
