1. What course?
2. Courses for summer are limited in number compared to courses for winter. If you want to apply to many schools, you might not be able to escape uni assist

October 15th is when most schools start application for summer because summer semester begins March/April. The embassy starts giving ADs for summer applicants usually around November. Be guided please.

glopatra:

Run from any school with application deadline beyond Nov and Dec because before you get AL it would be around Feb which might be too late considering the new style of the embassy now. Stick to schools with deadline around Oct 15th

If you can get an extension from your school, do so. Then cancel and rebook with the new date. With 31 August as start date, the embassy may not give you AD coz they'll feel you can't meet up.

High court is usually cheaper than notary. Are you sending the docs anytime soon

Alday:
Good morning.

Who has an idea where I can affordably certify photocopies of my academic credentials in Ibadan?

High court or notary public.

I have 3 sets to certify (9 pages per set of first degree and O'level credentials).

I don't that there's any standardised English test that is online and free oo. There's a reason they're standard tests. But ask Google.

Hey fam. Please which online English language test for free (or otherwise) is widely recommended? I am to write one and submit before Friday. FAU requested for one. Thanks in addy

Welcome. the embassy states on their website that they are fully booked this winter. A lot of people are also waiting for dates. So chill and pray that they release dates soon. In the meantime, try to get enrollment extension from your achool or possible deferment.

Courses for summer are very very limited compared to courses for winter. Most require IELTS/TOEFL, Uniassist or some other monetary thing that cannot be overlooked. Go to daad, search for summer courses and find out what they require. If you really want to escape IELTS and Uniassist you may have to wait till next winter

limzycollins:
Please someone should help me indicate some schools I can apply for an undergraduate degree programme without writing IELTS for summer
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by sassy92(f): 8:46am On Jul 15, 2019
Winter application generally ends today (15th July). Summer application starts September/October, some schools start as early as August. So check daad for the schools and courses you want to apply to and find out their applications.

Schrodinger22:

@deutscheman, please is there still hope for winter applicant for admission? If NO, when is the deadline for summer. Thank you

I don't think that's necessary. At this point, you might only get date if someone with AD cancels their appointment.

Omoawoke:
Now that they have changed reuirment of cat A , limiting it to 2.1 and first class.... Should we cancel and rebook again, probably those with 2.1 and above will have AD faster

IELTS is 68k with MOD and 75k with British Council, there is no difference between the 2 except MOD is mostly paper based while BC offers computer based.
PM me and I'll send you the link to the materials I used

Seriously I was surprised when I saw someone still sending docs to uniassist today. Unless you already have AD, that's a long thing because even if you get admission you won't get AD because of the upsurge. Unless the school offers enrolment extensionn, the embassy no go look your side

HighPriest0:
No more appointment for winter and people are still applying for winter admission??

The German embassy can do as they like, they don't owe us nada. Also, it was said on this thread when the booking system changed early May that the number of applicants this winter is far more than the preceeding years.
My advice to everyone awaiting AD
- Try and get enrolment extension for your school. If they don't offer extension, ask about deferment
- Pray that the embassy will still give dates.

Richmondoau:
Why will the embassy end winter visa appointment when winter applications to most schools are yet to close? any hope if one cancel and rebook?

It depends. Some schools allow you to defer, while some don't. Your best bet is to mail the course coordinator and ask about deferment. Also if the course is only offered in winter, you can only defer to the next winter if deferment is possible.

glopatra:
Good morning All. Elders in the house pls help me understand this:

1)Is it possible to defer admission from winter to winter has anybody done it before.

2)And concerning deferment from winter to summer is it usually automatic admission ( the school will send you the letter on time before the usual summer admission period ) Or you have to wait again for the summer admission to start rolling out

Aunty, calm down. Have you been following this thread? If you have, you'll know that a LOT of people are waiting for AD. If you choose Abuja and you don't have proof of residency there, you could be bounced (so we've heard).
Just calm down and hope and pray that the embassy would soon start assigning dates.

EkeneMiriam:
Guys please!!!
I need your help!!!
I already booked for my visa appointment and no AD yet but this abuja matter, I don't know how to go about it, I have an Abuja address but I don't know how to provide a proof of residency since I didn't use that address when applying to the school, so now my AL does not carry the Abuja address but the address of where I am at the moment (Enugu).
Please guys, if you have a good knowledge of how I can go about this, lemme know because it's urgent!
Thanks

It's good that you're searching but I'm also applying for Environmental engineering courses and from my search, they all require IELTS and Uniassist. You can't escape them. I've written IELTS and budgeted Uniassist money already, I'll advise you to do same

The deadline for winter application (generally) is July 15,which is one week away. Most schools have closed applications for winter. It'll be difficult to get schools to apply for this late hour. You can try sha.

I am not understanding, are you applying for summer 2019 or summer 2020? Have you already gotten admission?
Second and most important question, When did you book?

Pegzzyg:
Hi, good morning,

I am applying for summer session. There was a mistake while imputing my email address. Now, I am trying to book again but getting error that "Interview has already been booked" is there any way around this? Your kind feedback would be very appreciated.

I welcome any other suggestions too please.

I wish for my Interview date to be October ending, like last week in October because I would embark on a journey requiring my Int'l Passport in mid-October.
Advice on this too, would be appreciated!

Thank you.

I don't think you can get an earlier date, dates are becoming scarce. Jusr manage what you have, try and contact your school and ask for enrollment extension.

Chukwudi1990:
Please. I have an appointment for 24th of september, and my admission date is 15th of October. Is there anything I can do have a faster appointment?
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by sassy92(f): 12:27pm On Jul 07, 2019
Your case is unique and yes, 1500 euros is a lot of money. If you apply for the short study program you won't get student visa. You'll still have to come back to Naija and apply for student visa. In my opinion that's stressful.
Here's my advise: if you have a Bsc,apply for Msc in a related course for summer. Then during winter switch to Bsc in your preferred course.
I stand to be corrected.

odimbannamdi:

Hello Heybaby12,

Regarding the emboldened, i intend doing something similar, only that mine is circumstantial.

I do not want the end of 2020's summer intake to meet me in Naija, but based on my preferred school/course criteria (Business-relatedness, English-speaking, B.Sc and summer session availability), only one degree programme meets my need and i have to pay 1,500euros per semester. The other one i have eyes on is a Study semester program (from March to July) in Sustainable Business at Trier. I will apply for both and hope to get admissions

But do you think the embassy will give me the usual student visa if i intend going for the latter (i.e the study semester programme)?

Just in case that is not possible, i also intend tendering the admission letter for the degree program during my interview and be granted the usual student visa, but when i get into Germany i will go for the Study semester, while applying for better B.Sc degree options to begin in Winter.

Will this pose a problem to me later on? And what does the process look like?

Also, If i am granted a B.Sc admission for next winter, will i have to return to Naija to process a student visa again?

My reasons for this

- Like i said earlier, i really want to further my education as from Summer next year
- 1,500euros per semester (for the B.Sc degree programme in Summer) is a lot of money. I will have a young family to cater for by then, and need to conserve resources
- My preferred courses with more incorporation of IT are available in winter
- I gathered it is much easier to get a student job in Summer than in winter.

I am in dire straits now and really need advise.
