Even when 200GHC is about N20K, can 200GHC makes you a decent pot of soup in ghana? I guess the answer is NO.

Even though our Naira depreciated beyond the low, it is still more valuable than the ghana Cedis.

Be objective bro.

At this moment, the cedis is worth more than the naira. Granted,200GHC can't make you a decent pot of soup but when converted to naira, which is 20k that money will make you a very tasty and well-garnished pot of soup in nigeria even in this harsh economy.

Please let's ditch the numbers and focus on the worth, let us do the comparison worth for worth.

What will 200 cedis buy for you in ghana and what will it Naira equivalent buy for you in Nigeria.

Take the 200 cedis to Ghanaian market and take its equivalent to Nigerian market, let's do the comparison from there 😉

ghana redominated their currency not as if they're truly cruising. But the decision of Tinubu to devalue the naira was an idea From hell fire.

This Ghanaian knows very well that 200 ghana cedis(new currency) is called or the same as 2million cedis(old currency).

So in essence, 2 million cedis is equal to 20 000 naira. He seem to have forgotten how bad the value of his cedi is.

It's not about the quantity but the value. Naira is a shitty currency but can still go along way within Nigeria. 200 cedis won't last you a week in ghana but 20k can last more than a week in Nigeria.

Money finishes faster in ghana but you can still make money if you have something doing. People are more willing to pay more for services in ghana than Nigeria.

it is all about purchasing power, with that 200 cedis they may not buy a 24 pack of coca-cola in ghana but with #20+k you will get 2 pack and maybe have some thousands in change remaining, rejoice not thou enemies for the lord has not finished with us
Business / Re: Ghanaian Men Celebrate After Exchanging 200 GHC For Lot Of Naira (Photos) by sniper77(m): 2:04pm
It is simply ignorance on the part of the men who are celebrating. The value of 200cedis is equivalent to 20,000naira and it is not of a higher value than the naira.
The redenomination of the cedis few years ago made the bank of ghana to remove two zeros from their currency. The highest naira note we have is N1,000 which is equivalent to 10cedis.ghana has 20cedis,50cedis,100cedis and 200cedis as single notes.

These notes are 2000,5000,10,000 and 20,000 equivalent in naira.
If the govt of Yar 'Adua gave approval to Soludo the CBN would have printed single notes of 2000,5000 and 10000.

Aside that 1,200naira will buy 3 bottles of 50cl coca cola in Naija while the equivalent of 12cedis will only buy one bottle of 50cl coca cola in ghana.

Stop defending this failure of a government, common 200 ghana cedis is #20,000. If someone send u 200 cedis here in Nigeria it is equivalent to #20,000. U can use dat #20000 to cook stew and rice, with soup and garri, u will still have change out of the #20000, because of stupid policies put in place by the current government. We are not talking about what 200 cedis can buy in ghana, we talking what 200 cedis can buy in Nigeria.

Only slaves talk this way. GHC is even too much. Ordinary cefa wey I dey vex say e too plenty for my pocket each time I wan enter Benin Republic for project supervision after exchanging it with a few naira has left the naira far-far behind. How do you defend this?

Government's bad policies always mar a progressive nation. Angola too removed subsidy. They're our twin when it comes to largest producer of crude in africa. But because their leader loved them, he removed the subsidy gradually and before he did that, enough palliatives had been in place in all sectors, to cushion the likely effects of the policy. That's why Angola isn't crying like Nigeria today. They didn't float their currency too. The policy only enriched the rich here the more, while the poor kept suffering . Has tinubu provided any palliatives for you now? Maybe the truck loads of rice he sent to states are enough for you guys as palliatives, which he promised since may 2023.

Tinubu lacks the capacity to govern. He's been overhyped. I shouted enough here, but as you know, the dog that will get lost will always defy his master's whistle.

Let them keep in mind that ghana rebased their currency by removing two zeros i.e. 20,000 cedis turned to 200 cedis grin

The truth is as bad as the naira is it is better than cedis. What you can still do with 20k in Nigeria you can't do it with 200 cedis in ghana.

Still, what the 20k naira will buy in Nigeria, 200 Cedis cannot buy them in ghana. Official gasoline price is over 14 cedis, that is more than 1,400 naira equivalent..official not black market..

I don't blame them in any way.. They were also a laughing stock back in the days when almost all shoemakers, obiomas, teachers are Ghanaians struggling in Nigeria cos their currency was trash, now it is the other way round where our young girls now see ghana as the best place to go do olosho.. I don't blame them at all.. All I know is tinubu and buhari's death will be worse than nebuchadnezzar..

Romance / The Reason Many Young Men Are Afraid Of Getting Married... by seunoladele: 1:15pm
THE REASON SO MANY YOUNG MEN ARE AFRAID OF GETTING MARRIED NOW is because their income is low and they are afraid of being disrespected, put down and insulted by their wife!

They are rather waiting for the time they have "enough" to meet "all her needs" and "win" her respect!

If you do that, two things may happen: 1. You may never get married 2. You may marry a woman who loves you for your money, nothing more!

Some highly successful business men in the the world confessed they had nothing, I mean nothing when they married their wives. Cosmas Maduka, owner of COSCHARIS, a multi billionaire luxurious car dealer said he was in poverty when he married his wife at 20! Mensa Otabil, a very successful preacher, founder, chancellor of a university and business man in ghana, also said he had nothing! No plate, no spoon, no chair, no bed, no nothing! When he married his wife! Fela Durotoye said he had only a table and a chair! Ben Carson, the world celebrated Neuro surgion was still struggling in school when he met candy! The list goes on!

You will only have very serious problem in marriage if , you are lazy and have an entitlement mentality! If you believe your wife is the one to pay all your bills and rescue you for life then don't bother to marry please, marriage is not for you!

Some women have married such men hoping they will break into wealth after marriage but their dreams were shattered when the man refuse to dream, work hard, shatter limitations and walk into greatness!

If you marry a woman to impress her with your money, you don't have a wife, you have a contract! She is to supply you respect and submission while you supply her money! The day your money is over, so is your marriage!

Things happen! People lose their jobs, businesses may crash! What will she do when you no longer make money and desperately need her support? That is when you will know whether you married a wife or a disaster!

I hope this post is simple enough?

May you receive the grace to step out in faith and do the needful!

When you marry a good woman who believes in you and you work hard leaning on God's wisdom and power to get wealth, you are the next billionaire the world is waiting for!

Amen?

Thanks for reading, God bless you!

Cheers!

Politics / Re: NNPCL Gives Update On Dangote Refinery Petrol Price, Purchase by Geometrix(m): 12:09pm
casualobserver:

1: The price of petrol is set universally, everybody buys petrol at the same price.
2: What determines the price of petrol in a country is a) added taxes e.g uk b) subsidy e.g Libya and Nigeria c ) actual market price e.g ghana, Benin, Cameroun. D) your exchange rate
3: The profit margin on refineries globally is less than 2%, they make money on volume.
Dangote is not a charity.
Are you saying the price of crude or petrol?
They are other condensate of crude that a refinery though not a charity can attain profitability even if it sells petrol at cost price
