Please can you send me your email or contact, I will like to contact you. Thank you Emma549: THIS IS A VERY LONG POST. I TRIED TO PUT IT TOGETHER WITHOUT ERRORS AND TOOK ME SOME DAYS TO WRITE IT.
Long post alert, PPR and landing gist. First of all, Grateful to Almighty God to be able to write this because each time I open this thread and see PPRs I always look forward to the day I will also write mine and someone who is reading this will surely get PPR. I am a strong believer of God and I can say my application was 100 percent on GOD. Also I want to thank the guys here contributing and shedding lights, God Continually bless you guys.
First time Applicant Family of Three, Wife on study, Husband on SOWP 9 months Daughter on Visit permit.
Me and my wife are both in express entry pool since September 2022 and wife score is 463 Mine was lower.
We were hoping the score will drop but when it got to 480 it went up back.
We didn't want to take chances based on Nigeria instability and we decided to try study.
Upfront Medicals September 2022. Application Submitted 18th April 2023. Wife biometrics drop 19th april, Husband biometrics drop 20th april We both booked Biometrics for 25th April, paid for premium lounge at VFS Lekki and we were able to capture quick.
THEN THE LONG WAIT, This is the longest wait of our lives. Wife medical passed 8th May,Eligibility started day. Husband eligibility started 9th May Medicals passed 9th May.
On status tracker Eligibility and medicals completed for both. Then we started waiting ooo, A little later Eligibility for my daughter started, and I was like what are they checking in an innocent 6months old.
After 6weeks of application we started sending emails and webform to IRCC daily, We didn't let IRCC rest I mandated my wife to send at least webform and email twice daily. Infact we still got a reply to some of our webform we sent in June few days back. It was plenty disturbance on them.
Fast forward to July 14 The Golden mail dropped.
JULY 14 PPR dropped for me and wife but medical request for our daughter, I was happy/ angry that why will IRCC request for medicals because we were not asked to submit medicals for her in the pre application questionnaire, i was not understanding why ircc will request her Medicals, but I think getting here I came to understand that she's a special visitor because she got her visit permit at the port of entry, so I guess it's because she will be staying longer than 6months in Canada she will be mandated to do medicals.
Resumption is September 5.
Now to the struggle of how to get the Medicals done to getting her ppr and traveling together as family before September 5th. It was alot on me sincerely. At the same time I was also planning to book flight and everyday, flight was getting expensive and expensive. Told my wife to go to iom and qlife and gate crash to see if we can do the medicals on the spot. Told her to see and sort anyone any amount just to get it done, after series of begging and begging the earliest date for iom was july 28, We proceeded to qlife and started looking for how to gate crash and do it as well, but after series of begging and begging and also sorting a staff 30k we were able to get July 21st appointment date. We did medicals and started begging qlife to send results to IRCC. They kept telling us it takes 5-10 business days. The medicals was just a check on the baby and no blood sample was taken I was telling them since they are not culturing or testing any sample they should just forward the result to IRCC. They no gree o Until the after 5 business days when we called and a reasonable customer service agent picked the call, narrated the whole situation to her and she promised to push it to be forwarded. While disturbing qilife we were also sending emails and webform to IRCC informing them we have done medicals and they should release our daughter ppr.
July 29th medical passed for daughter.
August 1st PPR dropped.
We parents sent our passport through UPS to vfs Lekki on July 20th and got email to pick up exactly 10 working days. Sent my daughter passport through UPS to vfs abuja, paid transmission fee because she didn't do biometrics, paid for return courier fee and SMS fee. We didn't get any sms only email.
We book our flight of 4.5m for the three of us on july 25 and to travel September 6 o, very expensive!. Let me quickly say this if you are tall like me, 1.86m, I will advise you not to book normal seat for a long journey like that. Better you pick a seat in front of demarcation where u can spread your legs.. We could not get straight flight to prince George in BC, so we only got flight from Lagos to Vancouver. Then I book separate with Air Canada from Vancouver to prince George. About 500$ with insurance. First flight took off at 1.40pm and landed Addis Ababa around 8pm then we were carried by bus to where we will connect our next flight from ADD to Toronto. Ethiopian airline didnt transfer our luggage at Toronto we had to do that ourselves which was very stressful. When we landed Toronto we saw a signpost saying new students, we lined up and was taken to where new students will get their study permit. Because we had an infant we where at the front, we were showed the self declaring machine which we input our details and a ticket print out. Took the ticket and proceeded to two border officer desk to collect our permits. The officers searched for her name but couldn't see it because the name on her visa is her maiden name and that was because we opened the GC key account last year with her maiden name and all her documents then was in her maiden name. She asked us to sit down and the officer took our receipt and proceeded to do a system check and was nodding while checking, then she came to us and handed over her study permit bearing her maiden name to us. She then directed us to go downstairs to get my work permit and visitor permit for our daughter. But for the other students after collecting the print out, they will go to the next desk to get their study permit then line up to see the border officer who will ask them questions before he stamps their passport for entry. I saw where one officer asked a student to show him something on his phone, probably maybe he asked for his bank account balance I guess. So we proceeded downstairs to and met a long queue of work permit / visit entry. It got to our turn and the border officer asked us while we were here so I told him my wife is here to study while I'm on open work permit and my daughter on visit visa, so he said my wife already got her study permit and we should just submit her study permit while mine and daughter passport alone. He didn't know my wife passport was not stamped yet. He asked us to sit and wait while he works on on the work permit after a while he called my name and then boom he has printed my work permit and also stamped our passports, but my wife quickly told him her passport as not been stamped so he requested for her passport and study permit again and then stamped it. So I think God orchestrated it this way cos we only paid 4k out of 18k tuition and we were worried not to be asked at the POE for proof of funds even though we did globus POF for one week o.
So we joined our connecting flight to Vancouver, got to Vancouver and boarded our last flight. Guys I must say Canada is very fine and even the city we are is so fine, there are a lot of opportunities for work, especially if your technically inclined, you go see work tire. Please I beg you reading this, if you considering or contemplating to come to Canada, pls decide now and come fast, this is a good place to be, the system is working. I am here now and I can categorically state that you will never regret spending all your life savings to land here.

I’m married but I applied with my maiden name. We used marriage certificate as evidence. Realpaulpat: Hello house. Please I need advice on what to do. I and my wife just recently got married (March). And we plan on applying for the Federal Skilled Worker (express entry). So my question is Can she use her current names now to apply (With my Names) despite the fact that her employment letter came in with her Names without mine before marriage... Should we apply with the different names and use our marraige certificate as evidence for we being a couple. Or we should go for a change of name before applying?
NB Her passport still needs Change of name.

Thanks for your response. Ok i'll call one of them. My NIN is in married name and i will need to renew next year. GraciousWords:
I'm not familiar with the new PCC process but you could:
*do what you suggest and change NIN name, although NIN changes seem to have wahala and I'm not sure how easy it will be to change OR *get a one and same person affidavit https://www.nairaland.com/3999848/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/450#62358403 OR *ask Inspector Rose or Moshood (search NL for their numbers) if there is any way to reflect the name on your passport (maiden name) on the PCC....before the new online portal process they would have just used the name on the passport.
As an aside, whenever you renew your new passport it will need to bear your married name, otherwise it may fail NIN validation (if NIN is still in married name). |

patricia23: Good Evening. So I'm married and I'm still using my maiden name on my passport but my NIN is my martial surname. I'm trying to apply for PCC online and when creating an account ,as i entered my NIN, my martial surname pops up meaning that my PCC would be in that surname which is different from my passport. kindly advice. Do i change my NIN back to my maiden name?

Tlz4me: Hello everyone, I'm new here, and I need advice on how to go about this. I received a medical request today (the second one, I did one last year June). When I applied last year June, my passport was in my maiden name. When it was about to expire in April this year, I renewed it and changed my surname. Now the medical request form which was sent to me today still carries my maiden name. Please what do I do? Note: I already sent the new passport data page with supporting document in March. I don't think there is any issue with the Medical Form, please go for your medicals. They probably have not updated your new name yet, that's all. Call the hospital ahead to reconfirm though. I think you need to send an official change of name document (e.g. affidavit, if you have not already done so) in addition to the new passport bio data page in your new name, by webform. Read here, it may help https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express- entry-federal-skilled/218#114098570 |

Congratulations!! Kenon1: PPR Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOWP and daughter’s study permit application approved in 65 days! It can only be God!!! It has finally ended in praise o! Come and join me sing hallelujah, Jehovah Jireh has done me well. I am super-duper excited to drop my story here because it is a dream come through against so many odds after about 11 years. At some point, I only come to Nairaland to read other people’s testimonies and after reading, I will share with my wife believing that one day we will share ours to the glory of the awesomely awesome great God with whom nothing is impossible. When it appeared that the door of express entry was shut at us due to age consideration and our SINP application came back to us ineligible after about 9 months of waiting, it was as if we had come to the end of the road and it was very painful. We had a choice to throw in the towel and quit (…but we realized that winners never quit). Then we decided to reconsider the study route which we never thought as an option because of its huge cost implications. As God would help us, my wife got an admission into MSVU on 14th December, 2020 and her study permit was approved on 10th September, 2021. She couldn’t travel until 29th December, 2021 because of Omicron with its attendant unexpected “apartheid” travel ban. Now, as the SOWP & study permit application journey started, the burning question was whether we should submit my SOWP & daughter’s study permit application without my wife’s study permit and SIN while she had not started lectures and was still in Nigeria and send them later via webform when she lands in Canada or wait until she lands in Canada and gets her study permit and SIN before my SOWP and daughter’s study permit application will be submitted. There were varied answers to the question above. But we prayerfully submitted our application on 18/11/2021 with wife’s study permit approval letter and without her study permit and SIN. My wife travelled to Canada on 29/12/2021, and her study permit and SIN with Student ID card, school fees receipt and updated enrolment letter showing full time student (because the one we submitted application with had “part time” student) were sent to IRCC via webform & e-mail on 20/01/2022. Thereafter, I sent an enquiry on the status of my medical examination to IRCC via webform & e-mail on 21/01/2022. There was not specific reply from them except the generic auto response emails. To my greatest wonderment and pleasant shock, when I logged in to check my e-mail on Saturday (afternoon), 22/01/2022, I saw three donotreply@cic.gc.ca messages from IRCC (one with my daughter’s application number and two with my application number). I was apprehensive (should I open it or not). Torrent of messages flooded my mind. But when I finally mustered courage to it, lo and behold, God has given us “an earlier than expected miracle” of the beautiful golden PPR emails for my daughter and I. In view of the crazy SOWP current processing time of 61 weeks, my heart “cut” and I was tempted to apply for visitor visa via the new IRCC portal. In fact, I started the visitor visa application and everything was almost ready for submission. But I said to myself, since my wife travelled to Canada on 29/01/2021 that I would wait till 31/01/2022 by then she would have been one month in Canada and if there’s no tangible update on the SOWP application, I would hit the ‘’SUBMIT’’ button for the visitor visa application. But God is bigger than my doubts and worries. But God is bigger than my doubts and worries. wow!!!! congratulations.........this is indeed awesome, Please can I contact you by mail? Kenon1: PPR Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! spicykev: Please, I would like to confirm the implication of change of name in the entire Canada process.
I have used my name before I got married on all my documents such as IELTS, WES, Int'l passport as well as birth certificate and National ID card, same was also used to create my express entry profile.
What is the implication of I decide to change to my husband's name at this point.I am yet to to get an ITA.
Who has faced this exact challenge? please advise. One-and-same-person affidavit should come to the rescue according to the thread. In my opinion, continue using your maiden name until you're done navigating this journey to avoid unnecessary complicity. But either way, the choice is always yours to make ma. 4 Likes |

No issues whatsoever ma. When u get ITA and are applying they will ask if you've ever used any other name before and u will upload name change documents and marriage certificate before u submit. So no issues that ur bank is in either maiden or married name as both names will be recorded on ur file. Cheers patricia23: Hello, I am the principal applicant for express entry. my international passport bears my maiden name, WES and IELTS also bear my maiden name. But my bank account bears my martial surname. I am worried about my martial surname on my bank account, because that’s the account I intend to use as POF. Hope it won't raise brows that the names are different? Is this issue worthy of being worried about or there are steps I need to take? P.S: I have my marriage certificate and change of name details.

Welcome to the Canadian express entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program Thread - Part 10
Please I need help with information as regards Employee reference letters. If I worked at my former employer's using my maiden name, how should the format of my reference letter be? Should it have my maiden name on the heading with my new name in parentheses? or vice versa? |

Pettyperty: Please house I have a problem at hand. My sister is planning to do express entry. However, her first child is not her husband's biological child. But he bears the husband's name. She doesn't know the father of her child (drugged and raped at 18). The child used to bear her maiden name till she met her husband when the child was a year old. and they got married and the guy asked her to change the boy's name to his since there's no chance of knowing who the child's bio is.
Child is 8, doesnt know back story, and doesn't know his dad isn't is real dad. How will they present this case knowing well that anything can happen (in the likes of DNA tests and all) they dont want to fill in the husband's name as the dad just in case. What do they do?? Let the father legally adopt him. The process shouldn't be long seeing as he has been a father. So sad about the tape but it helps her process for filing adoption for her husband. 3 Likes |

Legal adoption by the child's new dad (mum's hubby) may solve this, I think. Edit: also maybe include court docs to show biological mum has full custody. The link below covers situations where the other parent is known, I have not seen any info on the scenario you described. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1022&top=16Also see here, they talk about the new dad being married to the mum (or being her common law partner) before the child was born and assisted reproduction but not rape. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/non-economic-classes/dependent-children.html 2 Likes |

aye88: Hello all, pls i have a question. I am filling my iqas application form. Now I'm confused in the name to use in filling the application. The name on my international passoprt is my maiden name. I haven't changed the yet since i got married. However, i have since done all the change of name stuff ( newspaper and affidavit) but just haven't changed my name on the passoprt. Now my question is, do i use my maiden name to fill the application since that is what i jave on my passport or do i use my married name ? Any name on your international passport is what u will use for express entry application, and any other part like ECA. it doesn't have any side effect, as married women have that liberty. Except you want to change the name on your passport first before taking any step in the process. |
