Simply because he doesn't need the love of the fans. He fought Semedo, smashed Barca's jersey on the ground, went to Madrid dressing room and exited with two jerseys. Lol.

He is already a Madrid player but will be unveiled in 3 years time.
My thought exactly!

And please, can we just stop the Neymar this, Neymar that thing on this thread? He ain't our player anymore, so I feel we should concern ourselves more with our players or potential players. Ahh!

We have clueless guys handling our club affairs. It's a pity.

€222M and you are asking for add-ons? Why do you think add-ons are provided at all?

If Neymar leaves, kudos to him. The game is about money finally. He is better than whoever we would use to replace him but we can still get good players to work in our system.

I have no grievances for him or his dad. Most of us here would do same.

Most of us would do same, but not in the way and manner at which it's done. Why all the drama? Why not leave gently and still find a way of having the fans on your side?

If we are going into the new season with the same Suarez of last season, I am afraid, we might be having a long season already.
Suarez needs to wake up and bring out the monster in him again.

Praise him biti bawo? Firstly, I am a football fan and a fan of FCBarcelona. But I also like Ney, that is a fact. FCB ain't FC Neymar or Messi FC. Nah... It's FCBarcelona and that's the one and only club I'm in love with.

As much as I don't have and won't hold anything against him leaving, considering the circumstances... It would really be disheartening to me if he leaves in such a fashion. Well, it seems he is more out now than in. So, at this juncture it shouldn't be a case of if he leaves, but a case of when, as it's just a matter of time before he leaves, but he would surely leave.

My only worry honestly is that there is no one that can replace him presently. And knowing how much we so rely on our forward line, it would be very difficult going forward. I sometimes laugh at the cluelessness of some of us who tend to disregard him using Pedro, since Pedro was largely successful with the club. Same people forget that then and now aren't same in any way. With our midfield then, you could put me upfront and I won't disappoint.cheesy But during Lucho's time, and coincidentally too, the heavy legs of Xaviesta, it became difficult doing it from the midfield. Plus, the additions we've had over the last few years aren't anywhere near the aforementioned duo. Hence, the focus shifted entirely to the fearsome 'MSN' triumvirate. And taking away one of the major catalyst of such fellows is gonna be disastrous to say the least.

His replacement, well not necessarily his replacement, but someone or players to help fill the void to some extent would need to be technically astute too. Would honestly have loved to have Sanchez back if it would warrant it. IMHO, he would be the best bet at this juncture.

Meanwhile, as for Ney and his drama... I just don't have anything to say about him. But the truth is, I'm tired. And as much as it would hurt to admit this, he should just go already. Because with this saga that ensued, if he ends up not going, especially with the commotion, bitterness and the unrest he has caused the club, his teammates and the fans, it would be very difficult to win back the love. More like a 'lost love'... Very difficult to win back. I'd definitely wish him well in his new quest and I hope he finds what he seeks. Still like him though. Infact, nothing he has done would take away the likeness I have for him. But to say the truth, I don't want him in my club anymore. I'm fedup with this melodrama.

So, it's as obvious as the sunlight now that he is definitely leaving. I don't see him as a Barça player anymore.

But will the €222m be worth it? I honestly doubt that. Yeah, that's a huge sum of money. But then, what's the use of having alot of money and you either don't know what to do with it or you can't get something that would make you happy or bring about some positives? If it could be well utilised, then I say let's do it. Even if the money would be squandered, we have nothing to say because the lad has seemingly chosen to head out rather than remain. Why hold him back? Leave him be... I wish him good luck though. But e pain me sha.cheesy
Well said bro!

They way the whole saga is playing out, neymar has already turned the fans against himself. He should not expect any warm welcome at the Nou Camp whenever we are playing against PSG.
With all the 'tearing of shirt, collecting Madrid shirts' palava, I will not be surprised seeing Neymar in Madrid jersey in two/three years. The whole saga is quite disgusting considering the love, support and every thing the fans have shown him.

As regards his replacement, he might not have any upgrade out there presently, but believe me, if not for the clueless nature of the useless board we have, replacing Ney wouldn't be a tough nut to crack. All we need is a relatively skillful player with an eye for goal. We would be fine. We won everything before Neymar. We will survive his departure.
He's let me down, I must confess!

Why these sudden and unnecessary attack on the fan base? Even if anyone has made such a claim, me thinks the appropriate word should have been 'some Barca fans' and not 'Barca fans'.
About the name 'barkabots', I believe it's just normal on this forum to label other club fans names and has nothing to do with what you just opined. Chelsea fans being called shekpites doesn't mean all of them are not sound, same as Man U or Madrid fans being called several names. The same sanchez that scored 19 la liga goals in his last season in laliga and came to epl and got his numbers dropped, both in goals and assists is a reject? The same ozil that many arsenal fans call lazy midfielder, who is just playing for fun is the best midfielder? Mr sebodi hope this neymar issue has not affected you. Valdes and pique are two of your products who can testify. One came early and was banished for low quality. The other came with stvpid experience and got relegated to u21 team of man utd, at 33 years of age. Negredo and soldado have their own tales. Pedro came and needed to be drilled to measure up, playing nonsense in his first season. Epl is a risk for neymar, he is smart, he knows.
The definition of the word 'reject' has been over flogged on this thread. Common bro!
Fabregas, having spent many years as a captain of one of the top teams in your league without any league title to show for it, was withdrawn back home, refurbished, re branded and sent back only to win 2 league titles in 3 years. Talk of the power of la liga

We saw the need to help you guys further, we sent Pedro who was struggling hard to get a starting shirt, he's now become an important player over there.

Don't you wonder why we have not been poaching your best players recently? Hazard was once the best there, it's in records how he's offered himself to Madrid, even you sang his name to Madrid grin he's yet to be considered.
Mahrez was once the best, he's tried everything possible for Barca to look his side, we just don't care.
Kante is the current best, imagine Kante! The quality of the league has dropped. There's a need to help strengthen the league rather than tapping the good ones there.

We have now moved away from sending our rejects and second rated, we are now sending our bench warmers grin

Bro, I would stop being a football fan the day my club buys an epl bench warmer in a club record fee deal.

While la liga keeps poaching the epl biggest players, the rejects, second rated and the bench warmers are being sent to you guys to become gods there.

Neymar has been here for 4years yet hasn't formed a good connection with Jordi Alba.

He's also wasteful.

Anyways, I still cannot believe the whole saga is happening. Fingers crossed jare. But I honestly hope and pray he doesn't leave, but if he wants out, then I have nothing against him and nothing spoil too.

I believe everyone can be replaced, it's just a matter of time. I never expected Messi or anyone to surpass almighty Dinho. But he did. As much as Messi is devine, it's a matter of time too, but there will be someone better. Whether the person would be a Barça player is another story.cheesy

I see a reason. and that reason is messi. messi is 30 years old playing like a 25 year old and playing better than other 25 year olds. naturally, with them both @ barca they would always win identical trophies in a season, the tie breaker would then be the numbers. truthfully neymar who isnt a centre forward could never get more numbers than messi. me thinks he's got a better chance @ psg to win ballon dor. psg can actually win the champions league.
I beg to disagree bro!
I don't see Messi in anyway standing in the way of Neymar.
You will agree with me that most of our plays in recent times went through Neymar and not Messi. In fact, Neymar got more of the passes more than Messi and Suarez combined. We even have to adjust our game style in a way to suite him all in a bid to allow him thrive.
Massy had come to his rescue many times when his morale was low as a result of his own lacklustre performance by allowing him take pks. I can even make a case for Alba whose decline coincided with the arrival of Ney as he had to give up his attacking prowress just to see Neymar take charge through the flank.
Neyboy had all the chances to outshine Messi this past season but failed to grasp the opportunity and we still defended him.
So, the club, fans and even Messi have given enough room for him to shine. He can only imagine himself in Messi's shadow.

This is the kinda unbiased view I expect us to have towards Neymar. Yeah, I would be much vexed if he leaves, as in ehn... E go pain me die. But then, we should remember every player has its own ambition, and Balon D'Or is one of such ambitions for top players.

And forget about the fact that Messi would come out to proclaim that he doesn't care about personal accolades but just team trophies. Srory! Everyone, including and especially someone like Messi likes individual honour too. Th3 only difference between himself and Ronaldo is that he has the team at heart, and his personal ambition as secondary, while Ronaldo has his own ambition first and tesm glory as secondary. But, they generally crave for personal glory whether they admit it or not. Same too with Ney and that's why I won't really blame him if he eventually leaves.
Neymar wanting to leave Barca for Psg because of Ballon d'or is just a flimsy excuse to me. Neymar outperformed Messi in the match against PSG and the whole word hailed him. If he performed consistently like that in this past season which would have seen him rated above Messi albeit winning the UCL and probably the league in the process, are we saying Messi would still have been voted ahead of him? I seriously doubt it.

I don't think Zlatan wining the UCL coupled with the tons of goals he scored for PSG would have given him the nod ahead of CR7 and Messi. That's why I don't think going to PSG in search of Balon d'or would be the best option.

dmcdad:

In all honesty, I won't hate him. But I'd be disappointed obviously.

But on the other hand, his sentiments are true if we decide to not hate on him, but view it with an open mind. Ney is the kinda player that should be contesting for Balon d'Or on a regular basis whether he wins it or not. And frankly, with him playing second fiddle to Messi, when do we think he would realistically be able to outshine Messi in this Barça team? For me, I think his best chance of fighting for it would be outside Barça. Yeah, it could be said he stands a far better chance winning it in Barça or Madrid than any other club out there, yet, with Messi present in Barça, it would almost be impossible for him to pip Messi to the accolade.

And whether he goes to PSG or not doesn't really matter much cause he is Neymar. His name is a worldwide brand, and he is a fantastic player on his own. It's like Messi or Ronaldo going to PSG, are you telling me they won't be able contend there or win it as usual playing for PSG? Of course they would. If Ronaldo moves to PSG, he will still stand a better chance (than Ney) winning the Balon over there. If Messi goes to PSG, he will still stand a better chance winning the award over Neymar albeit Neymar is at Barcelona. You see the difference between these players and others right? They have the name, the brand, and the technical skillset to win it. Ney might not win it over there, but he honestly stands a better chance over there than in Barça, at least with Messi present now.

Now, if PSG win the Ligue 1 and Cup de France, with Ney playing a viral role enroute to them winning, and neither of Messi or Ronaldo wins the Champions League, he definitely will rival them in the Balon, whether he wins it will be a different kettle of fish.

As per my stance though... I don't want him to go because getting someone to replace him will be very difficult, especially during these perilous times for us.cheesy Forget about what some of us here say... The days of Pedro or the likes, the focus wasn't upfront but the middle of the park. Now the focus has shifted, why? Because of the quality we have upfront. If you take Ney away from the MSN, it becomes very difficult to break down defences because focusing on Messi would be very easy for defenders since he would practically be the only one to be capable of doing that, and of course you know what that means...

Anyways, I still am not fazed. I believe it might just be some kinda stunts to shake things up a little bit. Meanwhile, I read somewhere that some of his converns were highlighted, like making quality additions coupled with some other things that would make the team more competitive, and I thought within myself that if this is true as it were, then it would mean he really wants the club to grow in terms of their competitive stature.

Well... Make we just dey see sha. Fingers crossed.
Many of us have termed Neymar as the heir to Messi's throne, we have supported him even when things didn't go well with him. He's got many supporters than haters.

I still find it so hard to decipher what exactly it means by him being under Messi's shadow. He got to the Ballon d'or podium at the back of a great season with excellent performances coupled with the great support he enjoyed from Messi. Many who thought the chemistry wouldn't work were quick to eat their words and praised Messi's exemplary leadership role by not only accommodating Neymar but also proving him enough room to thrive.
His inconsistencies far outweighed his consistency especially in this past season. We expected him to show up and lead the team in the period Messi was away as he did in his second season, he failed to deliver. Many of us including the club stood by him and defended him during his off period. He actually lived up to expectation in the return leg against PSG, and believe you me, had he been consistent to the extent of giving another stellar performance against Juve and probably in the UCL final and won it, everybody by now would be singing his name for the Ballon d'or despite having Messi in the team. Messi can't reign for life and he sure knows this. That's why he accepted the role of dropping deep while Neymar stayed up to make name for himself. He had every opportunity of out shining Messi in this past season but failed to live up to expectation. And as such, I don't want to believe he's been hindered by Messi's presence in the team as I believe he stands a better chance fulfilling his potentials in Barca jersey than that of PSG.

I just hope and wish he stays. But, if he leaves, I will be disappointed and tag his stay with us a failure as he never lived up to expectation (as far as I am concerned).
