Politics / Re: Junaid Mohammed: "I Will Not Campaign For Buhari Nor Vote For Him Next Time" by segunpee: 4:04pm On Oct 22, 2016
gidgiddy:

This is all Hogwash. There will be no unity in Southern Nigeria. Yorubas have consistently shown since 1966 that their political allegiance is with the North, not the South. When it was time for Obasunjo to do his 8 years, we in the SE/SS were their for them. But when it was time for the prefared candidate of the SE/SS area, GEJ, to do his own 8 years, the Yorubas remembered he was an Ijaw man. We all know that GEJ's regime was not the best in the world but that is not why Yorubas voted him out. Obasunjos regime was bad but Yorubas remembered 'he is my brother'. Would Yorubas have voted for Buhari had GEJ been a Yoruba man? Of course not! No matter how bad his regime might have become! The truth is that the Yorubas prefare a Northerner more than they prefare someone from the SE/SS area. And that they will get! In 2019, APC will of course field Buhari and PDP will field a Northerner. Buhari being in power and the North solidly behind him will easily return. Buhari will then continue his cluelessness and torture Nigeria for another 4 years.

This your argument is really sth. Was it Edwin Clark dt brought GEJ from the backseat of dep Gov to presidency. Was dt nt OBJ? Again ws it nt Pastor Bakare n other dt spearheaded d campaign dt made GEJ act as president when d northern cabal held sway? When GEJ was @ loggerhead with his benefactor OBJ, were our brothers from SS n SE nt egging him on despite d fact dt obj ws being objective by criticizing secretly n later overtly? U were saying then u don't need d yorubas. Yoruba are very objective people in most part. We only want good govt. If our president continue to destroy his goodwill, we would rather vote another next election year. Remember we voted massively for GEJ in 2011 without malice to Ribadu/Buhari. But our SS SE brothers are just who you are. Let's focus on d positive thgs we hv done and can do for 1 another. That's how to unite n nt dis obsession dt brings bitterness n mistrust.

Hmmmmmm...if a well known extremist like Dr Junaid Mohammed, (Note: he's never a liberal but confirmed northen bigot), can say all these things against Buhari, why then are most Yorubas worshiping him despite his obvious failures as the President? Don't seem to understand...

Na wa for U ooo. Yoruba this, yoruba that. Y the obsession now?

u say oyegun rigged the primaries but Tinubu have been rigging elections both primaries and general elections since 1999.
you talk about internal democracy while Tinubu never allowed lagosians to choose their leaders instead he kept imposing puppets on lagosians since the return of democracy.

So you think Fashola and Ambode are puppets. Wow! You have an awesome thinking capacity. May your state have competent puppets like them so u can know real devt and governance. I bow for fantastic reasoning capacity! Progressives all the way. If you don't know, in the S/W Tinubu is a natural Leader. He has earned the right to be so called. We all follow stand-out leader. Keep on hating. I don't mind if Tinubu n S/W switch to opposition, Tinubu deserves to be called Awo's Son.

I didn't see how he was grilled here. Many of you just write for the sake of criticizing someone who to me is much better than Jonathan Goodluck. Being able to put stuffs together in recession is hard especially when you have to defend under a dwindling market conditions. I see many of you here are still struggling with JAMB while some can't even defend papers they call certificates!
Fashola to me is an inspiration in the political sphere and trusting him with multiple ministries is the way to confidently tell Nigerians that he's a trusted hand.
To those who hope that Nigeria power problem can be solved by Buhari in a year, it shows how low your education has gone and how ignorant lots of youths have become.

U don't mind these folks. Honestly any gullible person would have been deceived by their jaundice view of the interview. He actually did well and gave solid answers and explanations to the questions asked. At a time Sankour wanted to deny him d chance to respond but Fashola insisted n made his statements. Any remotely intelligent and unbiased person knows Fashola did well. Please leave children of hate alone. They can't see beyond their noses. Hateful folks always see F9 where there should be A1, B2 etc. It's in them until delivered. Proud of Fashola responses

Nigerians saying government should build new refineries make me laugh
Do u think the money is there and they won't??
How much is our budget (capital)
The economic ignorance in this country make the people a nightmare to the government in power and tool in the hand of opposition
I will give u 15000MW they won't ask with which money, how will it be founded
The problem with Nigeria is lack of founds and the only way we can get the founds is effective taxing
VAT is too poor at 5%.. . 15% minimum
The rich should be taxed, buy a luxury car and pay 50% tax of the value of the car, private university should be taxed 40% of there fees, religious centers, 40% of there revenue
People travelling for pilgrimage should pay 100% tax of the total expenditure
With this and many more we can raise 20 trillion a year and everything will be well

Do you realize what it is ur proposing? 15% VAT nt even 10%. Am sure u hv nt considered what dt will do to d general level of price in d country. While its imperative to increase tax on some luxury goods d % ur suggestion is jaw-dropping. All these have their biting effect in d end particularly d 1 on traveling, private uni, etc.

Respect to her as an actress.

I personally have absolutely nothing against her for acting nude. Being an actress is an art and if the scene requires the actress to be nude to pass on the message appropriately, then thats what a good actress would do.

I can never forget the rape scene in the Tyler Perry Move "For Coloured Girls".. That scene left me scarred and even made me hate the actor that played that scene. It was so vivid.

That said, she should cool off with the raunchy pictures lest her entire career be tainted by her nude scene. If she wants to be serious, she must grow from this move and play diverse roles and kill all of them. that is what would get her noticed by foreign producers.

I see u also fall for the Oyinbo's thg dt being naked is a modern day art. Well I tell u dts an immoral art. There's nothing civilized about that. I thk she's deliberately trying to ride on d back of d naked thg to stardom n its attendant benefits. She's desperate. I hate to see how we accept some western culture that is nt adding real value to us. We shud accept those with real value that makes their economy as developed as theirs. See what china is doing. Learn n imitate US good values in everythg but censor d part that's corrupting their society. We must learn to thk for ourselves n nt join bandwagon.

My Bros, firstly, I have passed the mark to be considered a youth in general terms. Thank you.
What you are talking about is an espansionary fiscal policy since one cannot technically claim that a budget is espansionary.
Permit me to enlighten you and other readers here.
Expansionary fiscal policy seeks to decrease tax, increase Government expenditures or try to do both with the goal of fighting inflation.
When taxes are decreased, people have more disposable income and tend to spend more. This stimulates the economy because the more people spend, GDP increases. Also, a decrease in taxes sends a message to the business community that Government is interested in reviving the economy. This increases business confidence which in turn increases private investment.
Government expenditure is a component of GDP, therefore an increase in Government expenditures increases GDP directly.
The bottom line is that the increase in GDP as a result of decrease in taxes and increase in Government expenditures is much more than the initial decrease in taxes or increase in Government expenditures due to the multiplier effect.
Let me break it down with this example.
Country A has an inflation rate of say 7%, as compared to a historical average of 3%, unemployment rate is low @2%, as compared to natural unemployment rate of 4%, budget deficit of 5% and a GDP growth rate of 6% as compared with AGR of 3%.
Country B on the other hand has 1% inflation, 8% unemployment as compared to historical average of 4%, budget surplus of 4% and GDP growth rate of 1.5%.
Which Country would one most likely recommend expansionary fiscal policy?

I found your reply both corrective technically and yet still advocating for the same line of action as I mentioned earlier. Thank You. I have the following data for you about debt to GDP ratio:
USA- 104%, India- 66.7%, UK- 87.2%, China- 41.06%, Japan- 243.2%, Germany- 76.9%, Ghana- 53.125%(2012), Chad- 24.983%, Canada- 37.338%, Angola- 38.043%, Italy- 127.9%, France- 92.2%, Belgium- 105.6%, Benin- 30.86%, Botswana- 14.450%, Cameroun- 23.932%, Cape Verde- 107.691%, burkina faso- 28.321%, Brazil- 34.107%, and Nigeria-10.4 or 13.283%(2012).

Now, please point to a single of these countries that have debt to GDP ratio lower than Nigeria. Answer is NO COUNTRY in the data above. I repeat our debt to GDP ratio is low and can still shoulder more debt considering d fact dt our Reserves have even shrunk. So the way forward is still to run a deficit budget wt emphasis on infrastructure devt and directly stimulating aggregate demand thru govt spending, Consumption( which I believe that d 5k welfare package of d govt seek to achieve particularly for the most vulnerable), Investment( soliciting for FDI and Domestic Direct Investment( d diff loan initiative for Enterpreneur etc, cut down on unnecessary import and boost export etc. U may disagree wt this (though u hv d right to) if u belong to otherwise schl of thot and would have us have a balanced budget or surplus in this recession( anti- keynesian). D thg abt some economists who demonstrate great grasp of definitions, terms etc and yet can't provide course of actions( policy) is really annoying. Please leave the sentiments aside and just deal wt d facts and proffer better course of action. Nigeria is our country.
Politics / Re: 5 Countries Crushed By Oil Price Collapse - CNN by segunpee: 8:53am On Dec 31, 2015

What expansionary budget are you talking about?
Is it the one that plans to allocate 38 billion to oil exploration in the Chad basin when a barrel of oil is below $38.00 or the one that is trying to import luxury vehicles from Germany when our reserves is rapidly depleting or the budget that has a 2.2 trillion Naira deficit? Pls , enlighten us.
Nigeria = Animal Farm

Yes I mean exactly what I said- Expansionary budget. All the rhetorical questions you asked in your reply still aren't arguing against the fact that 2016 Budget is expansionary. I think you are probably an angry youth- at least- going by your conclusion. And you are right to be( if you want to). But should you make a strong argument against expansionary budget, I would take you on on that. Am not a govt apologist but exploring for more oil @ this time for me personally isn't sound economics(but politically for the govt it maybe wise). If the need for those new cars is critical I wouldn't blame d govt for buy them regardless of the position of the reserves. Now, for the deficit, it is inevitable already as d oil price has dropped markedly. And mind you our debt to GDP ratio is still low and can take on more debt, so far it will stimulate d economy efficiently so we can avoid d full-blown recession next year.
Politics / Re: 5 Countries Crushed By Oil Price Collapse - CNN by segunpee: 7:59am On Dec 31, 2015
Such is expected. It could even be worse for Nigeria, but for expansionary budget of 2016, the effect can partially be cushion provided the budget proposed borrowing and implementation are successfully carried out. This is the time to watch and pray for Nigeria. A maa ri tiwa se l'oruko Jesu .
