Are you authenticating your employer (#duediligence). Don't sound like it though.
Is your new (remote job) authenticating you (like requesting you for some form of ID). See first 3 pages of this thread.
Is this employer authentication before or after offer of employment.
If after, does the appointment letter/contract has a suspensive clause (condition).
If it does and authentication is a suspensive clause, what sort of ID was required (#listed)
Kindly let us know so that experienced like aursaylongcome, qtguru, Drlevi and others cane possibly guide or point you.
airsaylongcome:
Still don’t understand what you are trying to accomplish. You want to “authenticate” your new job to your new employer?
Hailleys:
Hello guys,
Could you please recommend a document that can be used to authenticate my employment with my employer.
Note: This is a remote-based job.

Congrats. Keep pythoning.
The obvious starter is DSA and Alg (irrespective of language).
With that said, amongst many, perhaps the two streams to latch on might be web development and DS/DA/ML (aka data science, data analytics..)

Before you get lost in the Pyramid or Falcon, the two to consider for web development are Flask and Django. Though Flask might be more pythonic, Django appears more mainstream.
On the DS/DA side, streamlit and Dash get you dashboarding. You can still hack your way with Plotly an Flask (inbtw, Dash was built on top of Flask).
As you'll know by now, libraries gets overhaul relatively fast same as some get outdated. #keeptap Nonetheless, principles remains!
quick access is relative subjective.
gnykelly:
Hi guys I have been studying python language for some time now. But I'm finding it difficult to specialise the whole module is quit exciting.
What path would you suggest I specialize on for quick access to job.
Thanks.

The reason for the ban would be considered especially for dishonesty. However, it shouldn't be the decider.
What is a NO NO is not disclosing the ban. That will lead to Irish denial and ban. Rather disclose and make representation.
That's how I understand it. Others would have hands-on experience or insights. All the best.

Unlike 3-4yrs first 15hrs Universal Entitlement ), seemly 2yrs (for 2's) has all the shades of 'public fund'. Perhaps you contact your council or even the Nursery to ascertain eligibility. As it looks, a typical students visa will not.

Please pardon me for this quick questions.
1. Are students and swv holders not eligible to rent council flats? I saw a few in my village and the rent even looks high? I am on the verge of renting.

Maybe the following might give pointers
Sinchester:
I stumbled on one of the post where someone says students are entitle to go for council house. Well, before i stumbled on debates about the information council houses here by someone on this thread, i had already fallen into that mess. Let me warn intending people who want to take that information and run with it. Students are not entitled to Council Houses. Yes, its cheaper, but you are not entitled to go for it. Its public fund. I wouldn't want to go into details about what happened to me. ... But pls, stay away from public funds/house or whatever if you're on a student visa.

All the best to us all as we navigate this new land.
[Semmyk Extract] ...
"Housing association tenancies
An allocation of a housing association tenancy is classed as a public fund for immigration purpose when it is offered to a person through a council’s register or lettings system.
"

wonlasewonimi:
You guys will have to renew your visa and that question would be asked if you have at any point accessed public fund which includes council housing.
justwise:
Council houses are subsidize by tax payers so its a public fund. Someone on student visa is not eligible.

Issues of 'public fund' or not might end up being jurisdictional | UK: Scotland, England ... Wales, NI
Lexusgs430:
I followed the conversation about council properties.......
I think the matter eventually went down the jurisdiction route...... It seems UK and Scotland have different rules ...
No recourse to public funds, is an all encompassing rule.......

So, it appears, Scotland is the exception to England, Wales & NI at the moment. Let the folks in the North enjoy whilst it lasts.
However, there is ongoing intense debate in Parliament at the moment to scrap "-Remove No Recourse to Public Funds so everyone can access good quality housing. -Increase funding for council house-building".
But for NOW, heck NO! London Councils have put this to rest.
Even Wikipedia talk I'm own: ... "A council house is a form of British public housing built by local authorities. A council estate is a building complex containing a number of council houses"

Yet, hope is not lost, a number of Councils/Borough are willing to assist on 'humanitarian ground'

- optimise internet access or just get very high internet bandwidth (at a cost)
- develop #portfolio
- build up profile and contribute: stackoverflow, Quora, NL, GitHub...
- showcase niche area: zoom in with high degree of competency
- Scout for and/or be identified for gig/work
- for programming, refresh knowledge of DSA & alg
- understand basic legalism including NDA, contract (for US: W-9, 1099, W8-BEN ...), ... ...
- navigate tax affairs
- have Dom account and possibly money relaying facilities: PayPal, Payoneer, Feel, even MoneyGram...
- take charge of code commit, 'timesheeting' ...
- utmost work ethics
- continual upskilling, delearning & relearning
- invest, invest, invest, build passive income |no matter how little one at a time

1.0 credit card(s) plays a critical role in flexible living and mobility: aka convenience
2.0 having a CC is a lovely thing, if not better than blue band margarine or Irish butter on bread (though for Agege bread, it's still ẹwà agbọnyin). However, having one and using without essentials can be catastrophic just like a person getting on the public road without appropriate training alongside authority inter-alia #license
3.0 the bar to CC is now generally low; not only in the UK
3.0 Funds in CC are available for use 'freely'. Yet, they are just nothing more than #loan.
4.0 however, on the +be side, the funds in CC unlike direct loan may or may not attract interest immediately.
4.1 if you use CC to effect payment (swipe, tap, insert), the amounts will accumulate for a billing period (typically for a month). Thereafter, you'll get a statement indicating amounts spent during the billing cycle and when payment is due. You will quickly observed that
4.1.1 amount to pay is typically not the full outstanding balance as stated. It is generally a %. This is termed minimum amount due. This is the trick of the CC provider. DO NOT fall for this. Rather, pay off total outstanding amount. If for any unforeseen circumstances you can't pay in full, pay at LEAST the minimum and payoff the full amount (+ interest) within the next 1 or 2 month MAX. Even at that, I'll probably say, full amount + interest+ additional offset

Even at that, I'll probably say, full amount + interest+ additional offset
4.1.2 the due date is between 1 to 3 weeks away. This date is key and must be guarded jealousy like keeping visa appointment date!
4.1.3 the combination of amount due and due date are lethal. They trigger the spiralling when the financial woes cookies crumbles, fatally so.
5.0 CCJ (County court judgments for debt) in a nutshell indicate that your (so nice) CC provider reports your inability to pay them what is due as when due. So nice bc they offer you fantastic credit limit (and keeps increasing) possibly with other 'freebies' until when you can no longer payback, then their own #payback kicks in. Think of those 1s smiles you get at work or malls et al.
5.1 If you unfortunately get a CCJ, it will stay on the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines for 6 years
5.2 CCJ has a brutal cousin. The HCJ (high court judgement). Never wish to meet this member of the family. There's a legal reason I've split CCJ and HCJ. Let's just say, it's kindda meeting 'those' dreaded unseen uncles and deep-seated aunties.
5.3 once you have CCJ, it becomes near impossible to get credit facilities even 'common' phone contract. God help you, you're still renting and tenancy will not be renewed and you'll have to look around: you are at the mercy of ... ...
And by the way, kick some sensitive jobs goodbye.
5.4 and if your CCJ becomes HCJ, you had better go underground or self-deport. You can't even get certain types of jobs making the downward spiral faster than Eurostar.
6.0. when you use CC as debit card, it comes with complications. Though you can withdraw cash/ego/kudi/owo from your CC, NEVER DO. If you must, in extremely compelling extraordinary circumstances, ensure you back back with a day (a most a week) with full amount (inclusive of charges and interest). Pls note that with withdrawal (and maybe cashback or fuel; need to confirm fuel though), interest kicks in immediately and not at payment due date.
7.0 leverage your CC to build credit record.
7.1 leverage your CC to lowo olowo (use other people's money). For instance, your purchases for the month is interest free; you get to make interest (no matter how small) it might be in your savings account or money market. You also get to build credit record you'll use to invest in real estate and other investments.
8.0 check your motive. Check your intent. Check your need.
8.1 while at it, do SWOT
9. Check for golden nuggets on this thread. Some like lexusgs430 talks cryptly or parable/'proverbially' or in-between-the-world, satirical. TheGuyFromHR might drop it as it is. Mamatukwas cmight omes out of logistics DM to give from the frontline insights Ticha might 'epistelise' once in blue moon (from Kiwis down under). Justwise allows free flow of ideas unlike some other mods. Hustla I've known from the failed agritech thread might come gun blazing. Lightnlife might just chip in life of a (not so) newbie. Just as Amarathripple0 shows how (also not so) newbies goes about navigating the system. There are so many with there own unique ways. Simply learn to reflect (and like they say DYOR): wish, I learn new terminologies daily.
10. Ire o. Have a lovely week. Keep enjoying the fruitfulness of CC. Even if it gets to be kolanut/bitter Kola, do the needful. If it gets to be bitter leaf, do the needful as well. At least, every lemon can be a lemonade.

Population is a contributory factor, a major one, but not the only one. Corruption (incorporate poor governance) and mgt of population are critical.
Hence, I concur ... "But what is more disturbing is the geometric population growth rate (2.5%) stacked against dwindling resources and economic growth (-1.8%) per annum"
Corruption (which ironically on face value crisscrossed average citizen and obviously leaders whether PDP, or APC or APGA and others) is one that we lack owning up to individually and collectively. Not accepting and taking responsibility is a cancerous killer.
As regarding racist caucasian globalists that control the world, there is no denying that. It just the same way that power plays in the society or price and profit in the (local) market. However, as you'll do in thermodynamics or systems theory, you consciously reinforce intransitivity to engage 'transitively'. Invariably, the internal stands up to the external.
What we have however is that corruption which transfers to mgt of population offers no resistance to external globalists, rather it (corruption in all it facet) is an enabling enabler [like I said corruption is not limited to one 'ruling' party but all parties and collective individuals across the different strata of the society/nation: house, street, community, society, town/city, LG, state, region, nation, even church and mosques]

lightnlife:
...
The research reinforced my position that Nigeria is overpopulated with limited and mismanaged resources and poor leadership/followership. But what is more disturbing is the geometric population growth rate (2.5%) stacked against dwindling resources and economic growth (-1.8%) per annum.
Yesterday was World Population Day, and the conclusions of that my short research flashed through my mind on the need for population management for economic development.
Overpopulation is a global problem.
...
The image below shows you the quality of life for a Nigerian vs UK resident.
TNORWAY:
... Population is one of the factor...
lightnlife:
I presented data in my piece.
... Your thoughts are just a perception of what the real issues are, which is typical of African politicians; they take no responsibility for the state of the country, rather they point fingers.
...
Let's agree that we have a problem as a nation, that way we'll be able to solve the problems effectively.
GenBuhari:
Everything you said is reasonable. But you are ignoring the fact that Nigeria is totally controlled and heavily sabotaged by racist caucasian globalists that control the world...

I seems to gather from what you're saying that the aim is 'office work' (white-collar) post Master's program and not during. That is a reasonable expectation: as you'll know full-time during study should be no no.
Regarding physical work, one of the beauty of schooling in 9ja is doing other subjects like technical drawing, technology, home econs et al. You pick up some (practical) skillsets or at least gets comfortable with them. (Though I don't know if that's how it works in our high/secondary schools any more. It's been a while). So why this. You'll quickly get to appreciate when you have to DIY. The likes of IKEA et al will be your buddy as the 'Polish' and the likes might not be easy to get with as before.
To what you ask, I'll say marketing & data analytics should be a gold mine. Not only do you get into wannabe DS/DA, you potentially also enter a niche of domain experts (in your case marketing). More so, you can also leverage computational SEO.
However, you must put in the hardwork on the skills beyond the basic theory. Don't stop at generic datasets. Carve a niche for yourself. You might or you might not, in the last 3 to 4 mths of the master's (typically coinciding with dissertation/project stage), be prepare for #rejections. However, don't despair. Keep crunching on #practicalising your DA/visualisation to solving 'real-life' challenge (even if they are make-up case studies).
All the best.
PS: easy is relative, hence easy to get is subjective. However, you're good to go!

Upwork: well known
Guru: flexible freelance marketplace
Freelancer.com: good 'ol
Fiverr: probably biggest and broadest freelance marketplaces
Codeable: Wordpress specialists
FlexJobs: freelance and remote opportunities
Hubstaff Talent: remote talent across the globe. Claim - "No fees, no markups, no middlemen!"
99designs: concentrates on design
Behance: typically design, creatives - Adobe ownership

Two are highlighted here: Toptal and Upwork {www.upwork.com/resources/upwork-vs-toptal}
Upwork vs. Toptal: finding freelance work
While there is some overlap between available work on Toptal and Upwork, the two platforms target slightly different industries and use unique workflows.

For 'newbie' or the 'uninitiated', some terminologies
DSA: Data structure & algorithm
Alg: Algorithms
FAANG: typically refers to the US 'big Tech', which is 'fluid (that is, changes with time). The likes of your Meta (META) (formerly Facebook), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX); and Alphabet (GOOG) (formerly Google)
JS: JavaScript
Full stack: the entirety of a site or app covering front and back end architecture. Hence a full stack web developer develops both client and server software utilising a variety of languages and libraries/frameworks

DrLevi:
Having studied a bit of DSA, I could see the usefulness for large user base but most companies barely scale that much. Everybody won't build the next TikTok or Instagram or work in FAANG
...
But the game is the game. We have to play by these rules
Hannania:
DSA is a fundamental knowledge every profound programmer is meant to know.
The tools we use are built with complex Algorithms. Most tools used at FAANG firms and the likes is in-house built. So ideally, an engineer that can "design" such is needed, that's where DSA test come into play.

The thread is back on track. Let the pacoboxx, upwork, indeed, data, alg, Python, Java, JS, even Perl, DevOps et Al continue unabated.
jesmond3945:
no we should continue. I think the people trying to derail the thread have given up. We need to motivate and encourage the smart ones that the career is rewarding. Somebody posted a good site pacoboxx if I am correct, i was able to download cheat programming books with lot of examples. So the thread is okay.

Don't despair. You've started a noble cause.

Ensure you include copy of the same affidavit you use when 'renewing' your lost passport.
On other aspects, the elders/gurus will advice.

Hello house, help me look at this, my COS has been ready since April, I lost my old passport in May ending. I got my new passport today. My concern is, i hope there won’t be an issue of slight difference of Data page on my Cos, tb test certificate and my new passport( date of issue, expiry date)?

If your friend must, (s)he should prepurchase additional baggage.
www.turkishairlines.com/en-int/any-questions/excess-baggage/
PS: hope your friend won't find out upon getting to Ireland that most of the clothes and shoes get unused most of the time.
michealekene:
Hello people
So I have a friend preparing for her journey to Ireland. Via Turkish Airline, but the challenge is luggage. The 23kg x2 capacity isn't clearly enough for clothes, shoes and most importantly foodstuffs.
Can an extra 23kg box or 15kg be accepted to mk it 3 bags any additional costs associated? How much ? Especially when it has to do with Turkish Airlines.

Perhaps, the following from this thread might give you pointers to kick-start. See below.
PS: Give edubond close thought. Might go a long way in easing PoF challenges.
Lahnreh:
Hello Guys,
Please I got admission into Maynooth University for September intake and I have a couple of questions with regards to tuition fee payment and proof of funds.
1. If my uncle and sister are transferring/gifting/giving me my POF, am I still required to submit their bank statement or will a gift of deed with the value of the funds suffice?
2. Is there a minimum number of days the money should be in my account before printing my statement?
3. MU only payment option is to pay through Transfermate and there is a cap on Naira debit cards, please how do I go about it?
4. Is it better to have my parents pay my tuition directly from their account or transfer the money to me to make the payment? if there are transferring the money to me, am I required to submit their statement as well?
5. Can I use IELTS (General) as my English proficiency test?
6. Lastly, is anyone on here going to Maynooth University for September intake?
Please help. Thank you!!!

Princeadex04:
After paying the Edubond you will only need to present an account statement with 1.5 or 2 million naira. Though the source of the fund should be well explained.
JapaProf:
Yes, a letter of explanation is what you need.
bigmills:
For me though, I didn't show my sponsor's bank statement.
I only showed my sponsor's payslip to show that after paying my fees, she can still take care of herself.
If you can add the bank statement, you can but I don't think its necessary going by the rules.
It's important as @princeadex04 mentioned to show a strong link between you and sponsor.

Hoping for the best that all comes out well.
Couple of add-ons.
Given the big difference between post graduate diploma and post graduate certificate, although they might both be at level 7, the 'useful' option is PGDip. Zero out PGCert. The only exception is PGCE, which is not applicable in your instance. PS: PGCE and PGDE are exceptional (along with few others that qualify for PSW). See https://www.gov.uk/graduate-visa/course-you-studied

If enrolling for another MSc, ensure your wife get as much credits as possible counted from her PGDip to the MSc.
Nonetheless, you may salvage still the current situation by writing to the school and faculty, formally so, requesting formal letter of extension (just as Adazeal articulated).

As regarding 'renewal', on face value, she should get extension with a new MSc. Yet, IMHO, let her exit with PGDip (not PGCert), get 'new' MSc, apply to Home office. Still yet, #transparency is golden in visa application; though not cloudy with unnecessary details or malaise/malafide.

If Justwise will allow, you may mention the uni and we can try check out their Rule/Statute.
adedapodvirus001:
... need your advice, counsel and suggestions on the current predicament of my wife in her study.
... To cut the long story short, she has to repeat a module but the university is giving her an option to graduate with a post graduate diploma / post graduate certificate instead of rewriting the course.
I have evaluated the whole situation and weigh the options and I think the best thing for her is to enroll for another master because the school is not ready to give her visa extension because our current visa expires January and the rewrite date for the course is also January and the results will not be ready in time for us to apply for the post graduate work Visa.
... My question is that will her visa be granted if she apply for another masters from inside the UK using the postgraduate certificate/diploma.
...
Adazeal:
You see for you to be in this UK and thrive, you have to grow thick skin. You don't have to cower. Your wife is eligible for the student visa extension to enable her write her exam and get her result. Don't assume things, let her write to her department and faculty that she'd be retaking the module and would be needing a visa extension. Hear what they'd say first and take it up from there. I mean you paid huge amount of money for tuition, don't allow them take you for a ride even though you failed a course, that's the purpose of learning anyways ...
