@SERDEEQ.I don't think the Finance Minister is among the delegation that accompanied Mr. President to New York.Below is a statement I copied from a National Daily;
“He will be accompanied to New York by minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; attorney general and minister of justice Abubakar Malami (SAN); and Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor,” it adds.

“Also on the President’s delegation are National Security Adviser, Maj Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd); Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

“President Buhari is expected back in the country on Sunday, September 26. cool

Okay o! Let's continue praying only God knows when the final list will be out grin

Don't worry they'll call us, as i heard today, the reason behind this another delay is minister of finance have been traveling with president to New work City, but them back home today, so if she review the promotion list tomorrow maybe they'll release our list on Friday if she didn't review it tomorrow then perhaps we'll expect the final list on second week of October or 25 October,

Note: please I'm not saying surely they'll release it this month or 25 October I don't want people to start attacking me with harsh word's, i know some people will even insult me.

So let's just keep on praying.

@Serdeeq you are too controversial, before you've said 28/09/2021.
Now you said until they release their promotion list.Does their promotion has anything to do with the recruitment process?

If them release the list now how long do you think it will take before their promotion would be released by minister? She's the one that holding all the files i means both list, promotion list and recruitment list.

Good evening House, I got a relible info from someone at Hq. The list is ready and will be out in a couple of days or at most 2 weeks from now. Nothing this long comes without complications and I don't say this likely. This last board meeting took more consideration to the second screening. The first screening will see some applicants complement whats left of the second. I know saw this sometimes back in this forum, whoever passed that info was correct. Lets all be positive. I also heard the training follows in Ernest.

Bilya lemme have your WhatsApp number please or your email.

I think the recruitment is a non issue for the board, u don't expect the Min. Or board members to be fighting over who is recruited or not. Sure the board and Mgt. would get slots.
Our issue would just be passively discussed like, we screened so so number of people and maybe we need so so number to fill in, and when do we start their intake processes like training and documentation if necessary. When they are ready we go hear them. Let's keep analysing since no one has genuine info here.

Please officer's i heard that minister of finance is planning to cancel our recruitment how true is this please? I heard that from one of us.

Note: is ask i ask please don't insult me then isn't an update

Actually what happened and the reason why the list didn't come out today is simple,

You see, right from the beginning of the meeting and to the end of the meeting, I was here and in some WhatsApp group reading comments and analysis so the list didn't come out.

In all honesty, I don't know what I'm trying.

The fate of thousands of Customs Officers who have been in desperate expectation of their promotion soon after the Board meeting last Tuesday is still hanging in the balance as the release of the list of those considered for the next ranks is further being delayed by the Finance Minister, Hajia Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed.

Hajia Ahmed was conspicuously absent at the Board meeting which spilled over to Wednesday due to what insiders described as “Knotty Issues” that dominated the meeting. Though, the Finance Minister was said to have sent the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry to represent her, the Vice Chairman of the Board, who doubles as the current Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) however presided over the 2-day meeting. Various personnel of several Ministries and Parastatals are also on the Board.

Customs CG, Hameed Ali
As was the tradition, the officers who came out in flying colours in the promotion interview/ examination, are shortlisted for elevation with some few other considerations like zoning, seniority / year of Service attached.

After the promotion interview, officers would also know first-hand, if they scaled the hurdle or not, while the Customs Management compiles such list of successful candidates for onward transmission to the board for consideration and approval.

As at Wednesday, following the closure of the Board’s meeting, some Officers billed for elevation to the ranks of Deputy / Assistant Comptrollers General as well as those to be promoted to full Comptroller’s rank had arrived the Customs Headquarters in full gear with their new ranks for possible decoration by the Management.

But their expectation was cut short as there was a ‘message’ from the Finance Minister instructing the Comptroller General to suspend such decoration while requesting for the full list of those promoted be sent to her office for ‘vetting and final approval’.

The temperature of officers has ostensibly risen since the delay arising from the Minister’s intervention. A thorough profiling of those listed for promotion as well as the commands they currently work is being compiled to stem the misgivings that personnel that are no longer in service have made the list, a factor which is currently occupying the Minister’s attention.

Impeccable sources disclosed that the Minister would want to have a second consideration on those candidates, the zoning formular and a pertinent issue of a petition strongly worded and sent by a female Deputy Comptroller General (name withheld) on “what she termed as unjustified maltreatment”.

As it stands, the newly promoted officers can start adorning their new ranks at the pleasure of the Finance Minister and pending when she is satisfied that relevant “national considerations” have been met and applied especially on the officers’ cadre.

Against insinuations from few industry operators that the promotion has been released, Customs National Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, said he was not aware of that yet. He told our reporter that he was only aware that the Customs Board met but he was not privy to its decision, as he was not a member.

Attah, a Deputy Comptroller noted however, that it was natural for officers to be waiting for the outcome of the board’s decisions soon after its meeting. “Though I am not a member of the board, but it is natural that officers would be expectant of the approval of their promotion”, he stressed.

However, expectations are high that the Minister will release the list of promoted officers in the next few days.

For years now, the women Ministers of Finance and Customs Comptroller General have been having a bossy affair that have delayed announcements and release of promotions as at when due. The case was not different during the time of Mrs Kemi

BETIKS:
I have followed this thread from the first day and have seen so many opinions, some spot on and some laughable. But more often than not the optimism remains at a high level. I want to begin to state some of my personal opinion due to an extensive research and deductive reasoning.

1) The major delays in this recruitment exercise is due to one thing alone - Budget approval. NCS decided to add the cost of this recruitment to their 2019/2020 budget and what was allocated for this recruitment raised a lot of eyebrows from the National Assembly and even when the budget was approved a lot was going underground by some very corrupt and powerful people to syphon some of the funds. When it became apparent that embezlement was not possible anymore the NCS must now prove itself to be accountable. That's why if you were at the Physical screening you will hear many officers say they don't know much about this recruitment.
2) The major reasons why there is a supplementary list in my opinion is due to some hypothesis;
a) The first list was influenced by certain people. The pressure on the CG was so much that he had to give in. No matter how honest he was or his level of integrity, he was put there by someone, he is answerable to that person and his refusal to do their bidding could put his job on the line, he had to give in. I am not saying there is no merit in the first list, but the first list was stained with the Nigerian connection syndrome
b) Many who did the first screening did not meet up to expectations (either or both medically & endurance wise).
c) The number who met up with the minimum standard was less than the 3500 desired intakes.
d) A feasibility study was done by the NCS and they discovered that the force is massively understaffed and an additional 1500 intake needs to be employed to fill in the personnel gap.

3) This recruitment exercise concludes possibly this month or before the end of November. Reason being that the NCS account will be audited and during the auditing all monies spent must be accounted for. The funds for this recruitment have been released already and it must be used for the purpose it is been released for.
4) 60% will make it from the first list and about 75% will make it from the supplimentry list. [REASONS CAN BE SOLVED IF YOU BRING OUT ALL THE FACTS, VARIABLES, & FACTORS]
5) The supplimentary list has a higher % of merit than the first list. Let me explain what I mean; The first list has more names than the supplimentary list. Assuming the first list have 20 names and the second list have 10 names. 12 out of 20 in the first list are on merit while the 8 are influenced. But for the second list, 8 are merit and 2 is probably influenced. Know this for a fact that there is no corruption proof process in Nigeria. No matter what someone who knows somebody will probably have his way.

In conclusion, what every you have your faith in hold it dearly and ensure your faith is unshaken. Many were called, many will be chosen and few will be disappointed. Wish you all the best outcome.

it was reliably gathered that the Minister was not at the CIBN conference today. This means there is the likelihood that the board meeting held.
where is that guy that said his uncle is a board member, come and update us o

As he said earlier yesterday after board meeting he make a call phone with his uncle his name is Bello he his a custom and he tell him that they discuss on two agender which is Recruitment and promotions, and all out of this two a genders conservation make well and finally they approve the matters.

Secondly those Acp they more eager more than us to see that board meeting had been taken place why because the just want confirm their promotion because some of them December the write their retirement, so without that promotion they may not be able to take more gratitute after their retirement.

As the said once again in shaa Allahu soon they are going released name's and they're expecting Friday.
