Omexonomy: Why would you people always like to cause confusion in the mist of peacful people. If we allow the muslims to wear thier hijab, the sango to carry fire and the christian to wear thier own to school. Then what will then be the defination of uniform. We know what you want and i trust those at alahusa to deal with you people properly. ola_pluto: First pix...a typical secondary school in UK...

maclatunji: ^There is need for coherence on this matter. Those who are in a position to take up this issue should gather the facts of the case and head to court if need be. Order will help Muslims win on the issues behind these cases Insha Allah. Court will definitely be the last option... Btw, there is a similar court judgement on the matter in favour of the Muslims when three muslimah sued their school (Lagos National Institute of Health and Technology) for banning hijab in the school. |

probsolver: @maclatunji, the casee is already in court I don't think so. At least not yet |

Salam all. The cabinet of the MSSN Lagos State Area unit once again appreciates your concern and support so far on the hijab issue in Lagos state. Equally, the patience you have exhibited and the various advices offered are being noted and taken into consideration in the steps we have taken to ensure the matter is pursued to a logical end. May Allah (SWT) grant us victory, amin. Dear brothers and sisters, let us assure you that we have not, and are not relenting on this issue. This fight shall be prosecuted peacefully and legally to the end, no matter how long it takes. In our last post on this platform, we clarified the issue on the purported move of the State Assembly to pass a bill on the hijab issue on Thursday, March 28, 2013. No bill was to be passed but a likely debate on the report of the ad-hoc committee set up by the assembly to investigate the victimisation of Aisha Alabi by her principal over the use of hijab. This, we clarified. However, the state assembly, up till now, is yet to discuss the report of the committee laid before it on March 14 by the chairman, Hon Abdurrazaq Balogun. From our findings, Dr Balogun, who is supposed to present the report, has not been attending sitting for some time now, thereby stalling any further progress on the issue. As for the executive arm of the government, led by Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), nothing has been heard from them! They have neither made any statement nor contacted us as agreed before our mass protest of February 28, 2013, was dispersed! Rather, the state government, represented by Commissioner for Education, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye, Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture, Mr Oyinlomo Danmole and others, have been holding meetings with the affected school principals, Tutor-generals and others, side-lining us. Barira Tajudeen of Mafoluku Senior Grammar School, Oshodi, whose principal, Mrs Elizabeth Omidele, removed and marched on her hijab, barely two weeks after Aisha Alabi’s incident happened, wore the hijab to one of the meetings, the commissioner for education, we learnt, angrily asked her to remove it, questioning her audacity and effrontery! As things stand now, the commissioner remains adamant. If nothing seems to have been achieved on the hijab issue now, the state commissioner for education, Mrs OLAYINKA OLADUNJOYE, remains a stumbling block!!! In Sha Allahu, we shall be victorious. At another meeting held last Friday, similar scenario played out. From our findings, the Home Affairs Commissioner, Mr OYINLOMO DANMOLE (a Muslim!), reportedly described our demand for justice and a stop to victimisation of our sisters as ‘youthful exuberance,’! By and large, we have observed an attempt by the state government to sweep this issue under the carpet. We will not allow this to happen! Machineries are already in motion to ensure this does not happen and we shall keep you posted as things unfold. ‘They seek to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His Light, much as the unbelievers may dislike it.’ (Q61:8 ) ‘Those who disbelieve and obstruct Allah's Way, He will render their deeds fruitless. As for those who believe and do good deeds and believe in what is revealed to Muhammad - the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their evils and improve their condition. This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood, while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. Thus, Allah cites their similitudes for mankind.
