Politics / Breaking News: RCCG Member Accuses OSINBAJO Of Rape And Corruption by silica(m): 3:10pm On Dec 30, 2014

Lemme ask you something you wayo pastor... Why were you posted away from RCCG HQ? What happened in that Police Station in Ebute Metta in 2000 after you raped and ravaged Beatrice ? Do you remember how much you offered to pay as settlement ? Or you need me to remind you? What about the tax system of LASG when you were attorney general to the state? Do you remember the name of the company that designed it? Do you remember how you had to go through the finance commissioner to propose the increment of the state revenue to him? Do.you remember that the idea was to raise the revenue to a particular benchmark and share the balance? I will tell you how much you made from it. ..9% of the gross earnings was taken out before the official figure known to public. You do remember that's how Alpha Beta took over the taxation contracts of LASG? Just in 2 LGAs you grossed about 900 million naira. Those 2 LGAS Somolu and Kosofe you hid the money. Pastor Olu who is also a RCCG pastor took the matter to Adeboye (General Overseer) and the GO decided to speak to the Governor who is Bola Ahmed Tinubu who in turn promised to release the money to the consulting firm that designed the tax system. 900 million naira was released by LASG plus interest of 86 million naira but you intercepted the money and when GO got wind of it again, you were posted out of RCCG HQ. Do you want me to continue? Do you still want to stick to your stupid statement of condoning corruption? I'd ask you to tell me what it was that you were doing while in the government of Tinubu. Oh! You were massaging corruption abi?

Religion / Re: Photo: Seun Kuti Mocks The Redeemed Christian Church Of God by silica(m): 2:52pm On Dec 12, 2014
i want to hold a different view from many commentators here.
- A church is not synonymous with God;
- A pastor is not synonymous with God;
the tweet is in no way intended to mock God but is focused on the Pastor who arrogated to himself the power to decide who goes to heaven or hell. Throughout the teaching of Christ, he never condemned anybody to hell, rather he taught about the Kingdom of God (Heaven).
Attempting to scare people into your belief with threat of hell has never worked. What people recognise is love and love can move even the hardest heart. unfortunately, most of our churches lack Love. God does not recognise prayers shouted from the mountain top or with the loudest PA system, but he hears the solemn prayers from deep within our hearts.
Religious practice in Nigeria has elevated pastors to the position of God, when in the real sense, we are all equal in the sight of God. His grace is sufficient for all....Do have a great weekend, my brothers.

Politics / Is Nairaland And Abandoned Website? by silica(m): 12:48pm On Nov 13, 2014
I was involved in the redesign of my company's website. During the discussion on security of the site, i asked the company handling the project what measures they will put in place to protect our data. In the process i cited what happened with nairaland and the subsequent loss of data. in response he said "nairaland looks like an abandoned website with bland design and look. it has no face and the kind of topic you meet on the front page doesn't project it as a serious site, that's why the site is not doing as good as it should be doing commercially".

Seun, why are you not known despite the traffic to your site?

One word to describe Tambuwa's hesitation: COWARDICE.
If he believes he has been a good leader and very popular among the people,he should be able to stake his political career on his reputation and pedigree. The fact that he want to join the APC but is also afriad of leaving the PDP shows that he has no principle of character.
Its a big shame Mr. Speaker. You want to leave the PDP and continue to enjoy the benefits of being in PDP by maintaining your position. Wow! I thought you were a new breed of politician but you are just like the rest.greedy and lazy!

Just for our information, EBELE is actually GEJ's Ijaw name and it has a different meaning from the EBERE OR EBELE you find in Igbo land. For his campaign, AZIKIWE was added to his name when they realized that the EBELE was actually Ijaw and not Igbo. Just thought we should know.
As for Desmond Elliot, I think he should have stuck with the two name he has used all these while rather than insult his voters sensitivity with the new name which he never used. That alone will bring his motive to question. Why does he think a new Olushola can win him something that popular Desmond Elliot can't?

Former FCT Minister, El-Rufai loses son in auto crash in AbujaBy Wale Odunsi on July 29, 2014@dailypostngr

A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Sunday morning lost one of his sons in a car crash.

Confirming the incident, El-Rufai in a statement posted on his Facebook page wrote: “From Allah, we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son, Hamza El-Rufai who died this morning in a motor accident in Abuja.”

DailyPost recalls that On November 26 2011, Yasmine, eldest daughter of the ex-BPE boss, passed away suddenly in her London apartment after a reported neurological attack.

Yasmine held a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Bath, UK and a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics (LSE). She also had a law Degree from the University of London.

In October 2013, El-Rufai’s immediate brother, Ibrahim and his nephew Lawal Sani-Gwandu were also killed in a car crash.

While condoling with the former minister on the Loss of this promising young man, it may be necessary for him to take a time off his hate messages and dirty politics and reflect on these series of unfortunate deaths. To lose two children and other relatives within such a short period of time definitely calls for sober reflection.
May Aljannah firdaus be his final abode.

you gladly call yourself brides maid, chief brides maid and maid of honour
you proudly wear the aso ebi or uniforms and take hundreds of photos which u flood the social network with,
and you are not offended that you are being called "brides slave, chief brides slave or slave of honour" as you want to interpret the word "maid".
yet you complain that a maid who is paid and taken care of for being a maid is called a 'maid'?.
it's either you consider her better than you who bear that name for free or your reasoning is totally skrewed. Get a life and stop making other peoples' business yours.

The truth is over 90% of those in the Pharmacy profession are those who initially wanted to study medicine but couldn't make it. Ever since, they have been looking for backdoor ways to be caled doctors. Which is why they came up with thos new trick.check the problem at the hospitals, it's either pharmacists want to be paid the same salary as doctors or they want to be Chief Medical Directors. Hospitals are for Doctors and Nurses. Pharmacist merely offer auxiliary functions. If they can't work in d hospital as an appendage they should go and establish a robust pharmacy industry and supretend over its affairs rather than instigating other workers at the hospitals to cause trouble in our health sector.

2015: Jonathan WON’T win, if… —Asari-Dokubo
Our Reporter December 29, 2012

By IHEANACHO NWOSU, Abuja

Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, leader of Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), is seen differently by Nigerians. For some, he is a troublemaker, while others see him as a sincere and outspoken Nigerian who would not keep quiet when things are not going the way he wants.

In a chat with newsmen, Asari-Dokubo clearly showed this stuff as he slammed President Goodluck Jonathan, who is considered as his benefactor. According to him, the President is losing focus and that may rob him of victory in 2015 if he decides to re-contest the top office.

Would you, in all honesty, say the incumbent administration is on track?

I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says that the eyes watched its seven children to death, instead of advising them it was just looking at them until they died while the mouth talked its only child to life and success. We have continued, as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and South-South, to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan, but a time has come when silence cannot be golden. We have to speak out on issues that are critical to the survival of our people, the survival of the people of the South-South and the South East, which is the political base of Goodluck Jonathan.

Jonathan is surrendered by very greedy people who are only in the presidency to enrich themselves at the expense of Goodluck himself. This brings us to another Kalabari proverb, which says: where there are elders, a goat cannot be allowed to deliver tied to a stick. If we don’t talk and we continue to brush it aside, tomorrow we will be blamed and people will say: Mujahid Asari-Dokubo was around when Goodluck Jonathan was president, and he didn’t talk; then I will be an accomplice and accessory after the fact.

I have benefited immensely from Goodluck Jonathan with my stake, but benefit alone is not enough to make me to keep quiet when the period is very challenging for our people.

What is your reaction to the face-off between the President and Obasanjo?

First, there was no need for Goodluck Jonathan whatsoever to disagree with Olusegun Obasanjo. I don’t like Obasanjo. I don’t like his face. I hate him, but he was instrumental in bringing Goodluck Jonathan to power. And the greedy people around Jonathan have not managed him enough, to the extent that the president and people around him will disagree with Obasanjo openly. And if you check, all the people who supported Goodluck Jonathan and fought to bring him to power have openly disagreed with him. What was the cause of these disagreements? This is a question for the president.

It is alarming because the South-South must have its uninterrupted eight-year tenure, which is constitutional, but with how things are going under Jonathan’s watch, we are afraid that we may not be able to have our eight-year tenure, because there will be no magic about it; if it is going to be one man one vote.

Some people say Obasanjo is manipulating Goodluck Jonathan; that is why Jonathan is disagreeing with him, and we ask: what has Goodluck Jonathan’s government achieved to show that it is a departure from other governments that have existed since 1956? For us, nothing has changed. It is still business as usual. So, what is the advice that Obasanjo gave to Jonathan that is so difficult for him to carry out, that made him decide to fall out with Obasanjo? Obasanjo manipulated the process that illegally removed Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as governor of Bayelsa State and installed Jonathan as governor, made him vice president, fought for him to become acting president and also fought for him to become president of Nigeria. Apart from Obasanjo, there are so many people who supported Goodluck Jonathan; some have been pushed out by those who were not there to give him any support, while some others are trapped and they cannot talk.

What would you identify as the main problem making the President not to perform?

The problem is that the president is surrendered by greedy people who do not want him to make any progress. I have known the president for more than 20 years, and I know he is a very simple, humane man, but he has allowed himself to be imprisoned by people around him, and this is what we are saying that this must stop.

After the election of the president, before his swearing in, I granted an interview, where I said that if Jonathan failed to perform in six months, he would lose all the goodwill, and today as we can see, the president is losing all the goodwill. The social media was one of the avenues the president used to come to power, but today, anywhere you go in the social media, he is being called all sorts of names, all sorts of derogatory names. We cannot continue to be taking punches for the president when he has refused to wear his gloves.

As at today, the president is removed from his own people; his people do not have access to him; so people like us who have access to him become target. When Joseph was sold into captivity in Egypt, from slavery to prison and from prison he became a prime minister, the first thing he did was to invite his family, from Israel to Egypt, to come and partake in his new found status. There is something wrong somewhere; the people around the president have fenced him out so that he cannot even see his direct family, and this is why I called this press conference. I have complained to Ijaw elders that I cannot keep quiet over things that I have seen, and they say I should wait. I am asking here, how long will we keep quiet? Our people now feel that we are at the riverside and yet use spittle to wash our face. That Jonathan’s last line of defence is sidelined in his government speaks volume of the presidency of Goodluck Jonathan, and our people have started to complain, and very soon the bubble will boost and the people will openly revolt. People are dying on the East-West road and Jonathan and Orubebe are doing nothing. Jonathan and Orubebe will account for the death in the East-West road.

I continue to be an advocate of eight- year presidency for the South South and eight years in the South East because the old Eastern Region is the most deprived region in this country, if you consider the number of people that have become president this country. It is not about Goodluck; it is about where we come from; my continuous support for Goodluck is because he is the standard bearer of the collective movement for change. However, some of us are tempted to ask this question: why are all these things happening? Why has the president allowed some ministers, like Godsday Orubebe to continue in government? Every day people die on the East-West road. If Orubebe is incompetent, he should be removed. Nobody voted for Orubebe. And why is Orubebe so important to the president that he can’t remove him?

Were you close to Orubebe before he became minister?

Orubebe was one of us. He was attending meetings with us, sleeping in the ground with us, entering night bus with us, and we nominated him to be appointed a minister; we have gone to him and complained that we didn’t like the way things were going in his ministry, and told him that if the president left in 2015 without the completion of the East-West road, we are finished. And the man keeps telling us there is no money. When Ibrahim Babangida was there, there was money. When Abacha was there, there was money. When other people were there, there was money. How come the money disappeared when Jonathan got there?

We call on the president to act. If it is spiritual, if they have bound him with spiritual chains and covered his face with spiritual blanket, we pray that the blanket be removed and the chains broken. If the East-West road is not completed, the president will find it difficult to come back.

What is your take on the proposed construction of a new banquet hall in the Villa?

Why making frivolous provision for building of a new banquet hall? How will the building of a new banquet hall affect the lives of the people outside the village? What is the necessity for a new banquet hall? This is misplaced priority, and it should be expunged from the budget.

What is your reaction to the ongoing constitutional amendment?

I believe that the National Assembly, as presently constituted, cannot amend the constitution, because the National Assembly is not standing on any moral high ground to amend the constitution. There are fundamental issues. The constitution can only originate from the people and this can only be done when a sovereign national conference is convened. Nigerian constitution is a fraud and that is why fraud cannot end in Nigeria. Even the grand-norm establishing the Nigerian state is a fraud.

The issue of onshore offshore dichotomy is still very much debated in the polity. What is your view on this matter?

The irritating call for the removal of onshore offshore dichotomy is laughable and that is why some of us don’t want to talk. Somebody from Niger Republic will come to my place in the Niger Delta and claim that they should have access to the sea at the coast. If the 1914 mistake did not take place, this wouldn’t be happening. People should stop irritating us because we are tired of being irritated. They should not heat up the polity. And it is criminal and illegal that since 1999, when this constitution came into effect, the revenue allocation has not been reviewed, unlike before when it was being reviewed every five years. We also demand that the 13 per cent derivation should no longer go to the state governments. The money should go directly to the oil-bearing communities.

How do you think about the presidency’s reaction to the protest by Kalabari chiefs over the boundary dispute between Bayelsa and Rivers States?

On that issue, I don’t like the role played by the president. If Kalabari chiefs came to demonstrate, he shouldn’t have added salt to injury, by allowing that small boy they call Reuben Abati to refer to the action of Kalabari revered chiefs as primary school style demonstration. Will he say that about his kangaroo rulers? Why would he refer to Kalabari chiefs in that manner? Does he know the history of Kalabari people? Kalabari people have been trading with European since when his fathers were Unclad running after cockroaches and frogs. The president should remove this man for the insult because as a Kalabari, we don’t take such insult and we will react at the appropriate time to this insult and I know that when that happens, it will affect the president. Abati should be made to apologise to Kalabari chiefs for calling our chiefs primary school children.

Too Much Money!! Liverpool Defender Andre Wisdom Abandons £100,000 Porsche In The Mud [See Photos Below]
Posted on Nov 14 2013 - 6:07pm by
Liverpool defender, Andre Wisdom might be a talented footballer but the young man still has a lot of learning to do as regards his driving skills.

The England U-21 captain who is currently on loan at Derby County apparently got his £100,000 Porsche Panamera, stuck in a mud on his way to his club’s league game against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

car in mud 2

The defender abandoned the car when it appeared he could not drive it out of the ditch, the expensive vehicle was later discovered the following morning by mountain biker Pete Irons, who later informed the police.

“I didn’t really think much of it when I first saw it. I thought whoever it was was unlucky to have done that but I also thought it would be gone by the afternoon.

“When I came back through the woods a little later with friends it was still there.

“We were all joking about the poor guy who had managed to get it stuck and how much money it was going to cost them.

“To get to that point he would have to have come through an equally muddy section, I have no idea what he was thinking,” said Irons

In its reaction, Derby County said a navigation error had led Wisdom to the area.

“Andre visited a local shop on the way to Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday and, being new and unfamiliar to the area, he programmed the stadium’s postcode into his Sat Nav.

“The route provided took him down a less than traditional road, where conditions were also poor, and ultimately his car got stuck and he, along with the club, made suitable arrangements to ensure he was at Pride Park Stadium on time for the game and his car was recovered on Saturday evening,” a club spokesman said.

It is unknown how the Porsche got into the ditch or how Wisdom escaped but the car was later moved by a Jeep Cherokee and driven away. The incident did not seem to affect Wisdom’s performance on the pitch, though, as he helped Derby County in a 3-0 win over the visiting Sheffield Wednesday side. He was unavailable for comment on the issue

When Will Gen. Buhari Change His Ways? By Wole Olaniyi
Posted: November 12, 2013 - 12:22
By Wole Olaniyi

I was with All Progressives Congress' train that went to Kano Government House to invite Governor Musa Kwankwaso to join the league of progressives in the country, determined to bring about the change we need. I joined the train courtesy of a friend of mine who was with one of the APC governors present in Kano. I joined the delegation from the airport, at the instance of my friend who insisted I shifted my flight due for Lagos that afternoon. I felt elated that I was being part of unfolding history. Indeed I still feel happy that I was there especially after the fraternity I saw, the sign of hope for those looking for change as exhibited that day by the reception accorded the delegation by Governor Kwakwaso. Various members of the delegation spoke very well about the importance of joining hands together to remove the incompetent PDP government.

Alas, the star attraction at the event, former military head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), delivered something that was every inch a sectional and even shallow. Addressing the crowd at the packed government house hall, Buhari spoke of "strategic plan" to destroy the North, in reference to the Boko Haram insurgency. He took larger part of his short speech to whip up sentiments on why boko Haram is "political strategy to destroy us". Who then are "us"? This politics of dichotomy coming from a man of his standing was, to say the least, unfortunate. It sent shivers of shock down my spine as I looked over my shoulders, to a largely Hausa Muslim audience that were really captivated by these remarks coming from someone who should know. To Gen. Buhari, the excessive bloodshed perpetrated by the insensitive Boko Haram killing squad was not about religion, it was a political weapon. For real? So all the church bombings, all the claims by the sect that it was waging a religious war were not enough for Buhari to realise the dimension of this danger? How would he want the families of those hundreds of people blown away by accursed suicide bombers to react to this? To put it in another way, Buhari was saying that "OUR youths are being USED to kill in the name of politics to destroy OUR region". This reechoes what president Goodluck Jonathan said after the 2010 Independence Day bombing in Abuja: "My people cannot do this". For that commentary on Boko Haram, Buhari has fallen in the same category as President Jonathan.

With what had happened to him in the three consecutive elections he stood, many political observers, like this writer, thought that Gen. Buhari will change his ways by recanting his slanted views on national issues. The Katsina-born general was roundly rejected by people outside his Hausa-Fulani-Muslim enclave in the elections he contested under various umbrellas in 2003, 2007 and 2011. The reason is not farfetched. For a man who fought to keep Nigeria united and later come to head the country as military head of state, Buhari's latter .day comments fall below the lines of a nationalist, more so one who aspires to lead a country as complex and heterogenous as Nigeria. At the heat of the Sharia debate, a time when self-serving politicians moved to cover up their mess by invoking religion to divide people and win over hapless masses, General Buhari came out to join that charade. His words to the effect that Muslims should vote only for fellow Muslims, came not only as a shocker but eroded the respect many Nigerians have for General Buhari as someone with impeccable personal integrity. That actually set tongues wagging
However, the perplexing thing is, just as you think the man has abandoned his old ways, he would come with yet another myopic statement that would scare everybody around. And, the reality is no one can help him better than himself. A situation where one offends the sensibilities of people directly touched by such a carnage, there is no one else to remedy the situation. After all, the man is not new to such uncalculated utterances that often lead to needless controversy which also erode public confidence in him.

Since the escalation of the Boko Haram carnage, Buhari has never come out to condemn the actions as being perpetrated by indigenous youths. Instead, he uses almost every avenue to try to find excuses for what has been happening. The General is so much clung to his theory of conspiracy and the ultimate direction of the conspirators is people from the South or the federal government which is being "controlled" by people from the South. Does the former head of state means Christian, who are in the minority in the North are the ones throwing bombs amidst chants of "Allahu Akbar"? Or, does he mean the hundreds of families whose breadwinners and other members were killed by the insurgents sacrificed their loved ones to "destroy our region"? No stranger can go to the forests and deserts of Maiduguri to set up training camps and no government, no matter how heartless can start something that would threaten its sovereignty.

It is indeed unfortunate that a man aspiring to lead this country at this point in time, will showcase not only sectional biases but also flawed understanding of issues. Militant Islamism is a global phenomenon that is worrying countries from the South Pole to the Northern hemisphere. For someone of Buhari's standing to fail to acknowledge that this is a problem afflicting Muslim communities all over the world, is worrisome. Boko Haram, as anybody with fair knowledge of world events today should know, is not an exclusive phenomenon. It is part of the global uprising that started from such countries as Afghanistan, Algeria, Somalia, Pakistan and others and influenced pockets of other Islamists in far and near countries. Why is it that Muslims in Northern Mali did not blame similar occurrence to their central government or the Christian in the South? Yes, politics is a game but it should not be such a nasty and brainless one.

The formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has given hope to millions of Nigerians who have been completely lost hope in the current dispensation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). However, if characters with biased minds and flawed thinking like General Buhari are the strongest selling points of the APC structure then I doubt if the ultimate aim of the merger could be really accomplished. Because while some of us still believe in the process and the personality of General Buhari (who is very unpopular down here, for his utterances and disposition) his statements are weakening our effort in selling him as a possible messiah for our country. Listening to him in Kano the other day cast a huge doubt in my mind if indeed this man can rule over a united Nigeria, devoid of sentiments.

The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel was inSouth Africa to cheer the Germans as they beat Argentina. And that wasn't even the Finals of the World Cup. Only a retrogressive parochial and myopic bumkum will condemn efforts to encourage a team as wonderful as this golden eaglet.
