Education / Re: Pls, Is There Any Expiration Date Of O'level Certif. When Processing Admissio? by simba1: 2:35pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
I think some Universities if not all, does not accept O'levels more than 5yrs Old. Though I don't know how effective it is lekankolade: I had my O'level certificate 2006 and I've been using it to pursue admission since then....although I had my ND 3 years back and I've been putting in for Direct entry since then which hasn't worked out...I've decided to sit for jamb again and start afresh which am expecting both DE and jamb list from FUTMINNA....but the issue now is that, someone said I won't be able to use d O'level result as soon as it's 10yrs...how true is dis? |

Simply apply Computer Engineering with your OND and any other Engineering via Jamb Utme h2obobo: Please good Nairalanders your opinion is needed. Having secured ond in computer science through SPTS, but just not contented with the way things were handled during the program, i felt not proud enough to say 'am an ond holder in comp sci' due to the nonchalant attitude of our lecturers and our own naivety. Now despite it's late, i had decided to go for a degree course , but am kind of afraid about my chance of securing an admission to a renowned university because of the competition such institution pose, and also afraid of some state uniniverties because of their expensivity, which the reason is obvious (not born to a wealthy family). So this is why am now pleading for your opinions, that as some who loves and understand physics and maths very well, what others course can i opt for. |

ANSU- Still partially accredited UNIPORT- Not so solid, they also loose accredition. Dunsin89: . Thanks for your understanding Simba1. It's only 4 that I can vouched for, others in the East and South have partial accreditation and those with stable accreditation apart from the 4 listed above do have their accreditation taken away for just a short period of time while they swiftly make necessary adjustment as applicable and they will be given back. And within that short period of while their accreditation is void, the media may not make it public. Those Universities include NAU, EBSU, ANSU, IMSU, ESUST, UNIUYO etc |

Education / Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by simba1: 8:32pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
This is nice, very nice I must confess. . Meanwhile, please and please can you list atleast 5 Unis you know from the East and South that are solidly accredited by those bodies you earlier mentioned, abeg, just mention. . Thanks. Dunsin89: . Yes you are Right my brother. Now that the number of graduate doctors are gradually increasing with little available places to do their residency/housemanship not to talk of getting work. I think in my own best Opinion (no offense meant), the following points (though not in any preferencial order) can increase a Doctor's chance of getting work in time. 1. University: this matters a lot. You know good Nigerian Universities with a Solidly earned accredication from time immemorial from NUC, MDCN, NMA etc (no need to give examples 'cos my own type of Doctor can't fight.) 2. Personality: Good Mental/Emotional/ behavioural development coupled with good sense of humour, good doctor-patient interaction. 3. Age: Graduate Doctors between the ages of 25-30 are taken in preference to those who finish above 30. 4. Location: If you are a Doctor and you finish from O.A.U in Ile-ife, Osun state and you go to places like Kebbi, Jigawa, Kano, Zamfara etc your chances of getting a job will be large. 5. ICT skills: Being able to perform some simple simple computer tasks and skilled at using modern medical electronic gadgets/ equipments is very vital too. 6. Language: Some Doctors can speak at least 3 out of the major Nigerian languages in addition to the English they are trained with so location may not hamper their prospect of getting and securing work. 7. Sex: Most Female Doctors that specialise in Obsterics and Gynaecology, Peadriatrics are mostly employed in Hospitals esp in the Northern areas for some ethnic/religious reasons. 8. Politics: A medical doctor who is into student Politics while in school either at class, department, faculty, or Students' union level will have little or no problems as some connections would have been in place. 9. Travels: Some Nigerian doctors travel out of Nigeria either to US, UK, India, Cuba etc for some additional medical education such ones will be treated like a diamond in the labour market. 10.GOD: "With God all things are Possible." I Hope I don't need to say much on this. So, if a Doctor can have at least (in my own opinion) 6 out of the above mentioned criteria, then he or she can be rest assured of being gainfully employed no matter how worse the employment situation of thing may be in Nigeria then. Pls feel free to make your meaningful comments and enlightments. #Repping Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife. Osun state. Medicine and Surgery.

BEST MEDICAL SCHOOL ?? . . First and foremost, I don't think best medical school should be considered without first checking their mortuary departments. . O yes! Of what use is a medical school, without a well furnished, standard and qualified attenders ? . Some cadavers are not very happy with the state of the so called "One of the Best Medical Schools" mortuary areas. Some of the dead bodies are saying that they dnt have qualified staffs like Mortuart attenders. The dead bodies are planning on a peaceful protest, operation, "Nobody dies again till more mortauary facilites and standard are gotten". . For example, at OAUTH mortuary department, one cadaver said, he has been hearing of OAUTH being one of the best, but since he got there, he has been experiencing discomfort, no A.c, no attending facilities, dead bodies dumped like rats on the floor etc. . . Why don't you try NAUTH, you'd even feel like dying, the comfort eh! No be here o. 1 Like |
