Career / Re: Nigerian Public Service Salary Structures? by simtosul: 7:30pm On Nov 02, 2017
I search online for military and paramilitary salary scale for their men (not commission officers) it was so poor. No wonder most security personnel still collect bribe cos their salaries are just small. In other Africa country their security personnels are heavily paid but Nigeria own is exceptional too low. Even though most of them have their shortcomings yet they are risking their life to protect us. I think Federal government have to increase all workers money to enable feed themselves and their respective family members. May God help us all

The news might be true but the video they posted is fake cos I av watched dis video more dan a year plus nd it is different from her pictures. If u are doubting it, search for her images with her name on Google nd compare. The lady in d video is having tattoo on her upper side of her left chest, she doesn't have any French accent if u listen to her voice rather it was America accent nd if u check the lower part set of her teeth it is not set compare to the one in the photo tru Google search which was set. I am not disputing the news about her but am only talking about the video they attached to it which is not genuine they only look alike.

Romance / How To Avoid Adultery In Your Marriage by simtosul: 9:01am On Aug 12, 2017
Please note that you can avoid adultery. It is within your power to do it, if you really mean it.
Carelessness is one of the major cause of affair in marriage not devil in the real sense of it as many people always claim when they fall into error. So follow the following simple rules:

1: Never make anybody of the opposite sex your best friend with whom you share intimate discussions.
2: Never be with anybody of opposite sex at the time your spouse must never know you are there.
3: Never talk evil about your spouse in the presence of anybody, they will know you are not happy in your marriage and take advantage of that by showing you fake care and give you what you lack with your spouse and destroy you.
4: Never visit a website you will not be proud to tell your children and wife/husband you visited.
5: Avoid keeping secrets from your spouse, AFFAIR thrive in secrecy.
6: Avoid confiding in the people of the opposite sex, there should be somebody of your sex you can talk to, don't dig the grave of your marriage with your mouth.
7: Avoid collecting unsolicited gifts and favour from opposite sex. They will ask for sex in return, they are not Father Christmas.
8: Avoid thinking that anybody is better than your husband or wife, you don't know what their spouses are enduring at home, what you are seeing outside is just a show biz, don't be deceived. Grass is only greener in the other compound because it is far from you.
9: Divert all your sexual fantasy towards your spouse. He or she is planted in to your life to satisfy you and keep you holy.
10: Always remember that whatever every woman or man has in his or her body, your spouse has it too and they are not different from each other, it is only faces that are different, it is the same package.
11: Deal with any sexual thoughts that is not directed towards your spouse, kill it before it kills you. Sexual error do not begin in the bedroom, it begins in the heart.
12: Before traveling, have sex with your spouse and put your mind to it that you will not have sex until you come back, that decision may save your life and destiny.
13: Men, avoid looking at the front and back side of ladies and imagine what is there, it is stupid, childish and dirty to do that, that is what is called lust, what is there is not different from what your spouse has.
14: Walk in company with good and Godly men/women, if you keep company with adulterer, you will become adulterous.
15: Discuss your sexual desire with your spouse and let it be met at home, don't hunt for something that will hunt you later and hurt you deeply tomorrow, your wife/ husband has the best, get it at home.
16: Fill your heart with the word of God always, this will not give lust a chance in your mind.
17: Always count the cost of adultery, don't just look at the pleasure, look at the pain, loss of integrity, how you will hurt your wife/husband, children, friends and above all GOD the almighty.
18: Always remember that the enjoyment, pleasure and the thrills that is in sex is just 8 seconds or less, it can not be more than that but its repercussions can last for eternity. Why trading eternity for 8 seconds, is there wisdom in that?
BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR SPOUSE AND YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.
19: Pray regularly for your Spouse and your marriage. It is well.
God bless your marriage (Home).

We are going through a recession in Nigeria. This is the time to help someone out! Things are rough for a lot of people, even the ones one may think are rich or doing well. If you can help someone please do. This is the time to help your gateman pay his children's school fees. This is the time to give him some food items. This also goes for your maid, give her some transport money if she/ he isn't a live-in. Buy that colleague lunch. He or she is probably not dieting, they just can't afford it. Give some colleagues a lift even if to a certain point. Buy your friend petrol for their car and or generator. He's not walking because he wants to exercise. Give that Uncle or Auntie N10k, they're probably in dire circumstances hence they're ringing off your phone. Patronise farmers if you can. It's cheaper to get your goods from them. Eat more greens - they're cheaper. Don't go to people's houses expecting to be fed. It's rude and times are hard. Be thankful if they feed you, it's not easy for anyone. Give out you and your kids old clothes and shoes to people who truly need them. Pay an undergraduate's school fees. Recommend a good graduate if you know of a job opening. That may be the only way he or she can feed their parents and siblings. Let neighbours fetch water from you if you have a borehole. Feed a homeless child or person. You never know who you're helping. That might be the next Einstein. Pay someone's hospital bill, it could be life or death. You could literally be saving a life. We all know how prices have doubled. Some families may not have food on festival day, feed a family. Invite them over. People won't tell you what they're going through so be sensitive and see through the facade. If you live abroad and can spare some change for poorer family members please send it, it's no joke. Folks can barely feed daily. There are so many little things that can be done, please search your heart and be creative to come up with other ways you can give. Folks are hungry, angry and tired. Leave the government, we are the welfare system in Nigeria. None of these are compulsory please. It's just a way to help each other out. Do what you can. If you're already doing any of these and can afford to, then well done, if you can do more please do. Keep being kind. We are a very religious lot, this is the time to practice what we preach and the essence of every religion - love! The law of giving never ever fails, believe it or not! Show love to someone today, tomorrow! God bless you as you do.

A Nigerian guy has cried out when he saw the list given to his friend who wants to marry a lady from Ubima in Rivers state.

Vicky Thompson Owhorji took to his Facebook page to express shock as to why some items made the list. In the list, unbelievable things like mattress, pillows, tins of beverages, loaves of bread, underwear and many more ridiculous items were on the marriage list.

Owhorji shared the marriage list with the caption:

"I no marry Again!, I said I will NOT marry again!!! In fact I will NOT even think about it.

"Adaobi Amadi, Uche Anunobi, Dube Sandra Christiana Amadi-aye Chinyere Juliet Nnoduo George Grace Amarachi Cynthia Leo Cynthia Anthony Nneka Merit Opara Peace George Awiri Nikkybells Wuche Amadi Doris Hope Oby Promise Prisca Briggs Otunba Prince Sam Elekwa Amadi Gift Victor Naomi Nkechi Emmanuel Amarachi M Kalu Francis Chinedu Freeman Akoma Jennifer etc. This is Ubima Community in Ikwerre LGA Marriage List. I can't say if its expensive or not but what caught my attention is Item No:16-One Big Family Foam with 4 pillows and all the things listed below the "Other Items include" List! They would have told me and my friend to open a Provision store for them na instead of giving us this item.

"My friend is thinking of opening a Provision store for them with a partnership agreement with Mouka Foam or he will cancel the marriage and go for another girl. Biko see what I am saw."

Business / GT Bank Agrees To Restructure $138m Etisalat Loan by simtosul: 4:26am On Mar 16, 2017
LAGOS—Guaranty Trust Bank, GT Bank, has agreed to restructure the N42 billion ($138 million) loan which is the banks share of the $1.2 billion debt a telecom company, Etisalat, owed three Nigerian banks, including Zenith and Access Banks.

Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr Segun Agbaje, was quoted by Reuters as saying that the bank was exposed to Etisalat Nigeria to the tune of N42 billion ($138 million) via a secured loan, and would go through a restructuring of the debt.

The loan saga started last week when the telecom company informed its creditors in February that it would miss payment on the $1.2 billion loan.

Apparently, the banks feared that inability to recover the loan could expose them to the Asset Management Company of Nigeria, AMCON, which had been demanding immediate cut down on the rate of their non-performing loans.

The loan facility, totalling $1.2 billion (about N541.8 billion) involving a foreign-backed guaranty bond, was for Etisalat to turn around its network and expand its operations in Nigeria.

However, the banks claimed that Etisalat had failed to service the debt as agreed since 2016.

They subsequently reported Etisalat to the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and its communications sector counterpart, National Communications Commission, NCC.

Meanwhile, the NCC and CBN had prevailed on the three local banks to pursue a default deal rather than a receivership for Etisalat Nigeria so as not to deter investors and to avoid a wider debt crisis.

Sources say another meeting will be held today between the two regulators, Etisalat and the creditors to discuss the default.

Phones / Nigerians Spent N3.66trn On Calls, Data In Two Years — NCC by simtosul: 4:16am On Mar 16, 2017
abuja—THE Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has said Nigerians spent N3.66 trillion on telecommunications services in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Dambatta, dropped the hint at the flag-off of the NCC Year of Consumer at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, Nigerian subscribers spent $5.6 billion in 2015 and $6.6 billion in 2016, amounting to $12.2 billion (N3.6trn) on telecommunications services at an average exchange rate of N300.

The analysis of the amount showed that the N3.66 trillion spent by Nigerian telecoms subscribers is more than half of the 2017 annual budget of N7.298 trillion.

He said: “In 2015, Nigerian telecom consumers spent a whooping $5.6 billion on telecommunications services. And in 2016, they topped it up by another $1 billion to make it $6.6 billion. That is why today’s event is remarkable. More remarkable is that the year 2017 is dedicated to the Nigerian Telecom Consumers.

”A management decision that compels us to seek to amplify our activities towards ensuring that the consumer enjoys a customer experience that is enhanced and consistent in time and quality.

“Just as their patronage is important, the consumer will be our focus. NCC intends to inform and educate the consumer with the sole intent of protecting and empowering them to make the right decisions. As a regulator, NCC has the mandate to ensure all its key stakeholders are protected and their interests balanced in an atmosphere of openness and transparency and within the framework of the NCA 2003 and other subsidiary legislations.”

Continuing, Dambatta noted that the Commission was rolling out new initiatives to achieve high quality of service by the service providers.

To address the two key areas of focus: improving the quality of service and protecting and educating the consumers on their rights this year, the EVC said the Commission had lined up measures to boost customer awareness creation in all the 774 Local Government Councils by ensuring prompt enforcement of the Do Not Disturb (DND) facility already provided by NCC.”

In his goodwill message, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said the Senate was at the forefront of consumer protection, and on the verge of passing the Consumer Protection bill into law.

Saraki, who was represented by the Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Communication, Solomon Adeola, said the bill when passed into law, was expected to provide consumers with protective prices and further insulate them from any exploitative tendencies currently experienced in the sector.

Crime / Update: Army Detains Six Soldiers Over Alleged Brutality Of Woman by simtosul: 4:03am On Mar 16, 2017
https://www.nairaland.com/3682722/soldiers-brutalise-woman-challenging-slapping

Lagos – The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army on Wednesday said it had set up a Board of Inquiry (BOI), and detained six soldiers over the brutality of a woman in Lagos state.

The incident on 12 March, according to the Division’s spokesperson, , Lt.-Col. Olaolu Daudu, happened in Odoguyan, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

It involved soldiers of 174 Battalion and the woman attacked has been identified in various reports as Ruth Orji.

According to reports, the Joint Legal Action Aids, which is representing her has already sued the military authorities and asking for N250million in damages.

In their reaction to the incident, the military authorities failed to disclose the names of the victim and her attackers.

Here is the statement by 81 Division:

“The attention of Headquarters 81 Division, Nigerian Army, has been drawn to the social media and Newspaper online reports on alleged brutalisation of a female by soldiers”.

“The incident occurred in Odoguyan, Ikorodu area of Lagos state involving soldiers of 174 Battalion on Sunday, March 12.

“The alleged incident is highly regrettable, even as the division under the Nigerian Army has zero tolerance for inhuman treatment.

“Discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigerian Military Profession.

“It is quite disheartening when such incidences occur even though such incidences will not be treated with any laxity.

“Consequently, a Board of Inquiry has been constituted by the Commander 9 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Elias Attu.

“This is to investigate the circumstances that led to the incident, determine the level of the soldiers’ involvement, submit its findings and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures which will be communicated.

“The brutalised lady, name with held, has been taken to hospital where she is responding to treatment.

“The six soldiers, also names withheld, are being detained in regards to the incident.

“The Division remains committed to its tasks as part of the constitutional mandate of the Nigerian Army.

“The Division continues to enjoin all to be law abiding and count on their support and cooperation,” said Lt. Col. Daudu.

Two years ago, he got his first English debut in the movie ‘Taxi Driver’ one would have thought that Odun would be proud of this step, the actor was reported to have been un-bothered about the state of the movie to the extent that he failed to promote it despite the fact that he was paid higher than his usual fee.

Truth is, Odun’s role could have been interpreted better by anyone...

His actions towards the movie could have been said to be a mistake that could not be avoided, Odun pulled yet another stunt with Funmi Holder’s movie ‘The Grudge’. He was said to have failed to turn up at the location while the movie was being shot and his hotel room left vacant because he failed to show up.

To add to it, Odun failed to show up at the premiere after stating that he was going to be there and once again failed to promote the movie on any of his social platform.
