Politics / APC Has Concluded Arrangements To Rig Bayelsa’s Governorship Election – PDP by SirSmithHarry(m): 4:42pm On Nov 30, 2015 |
By Henry Umoru Ahead of Saturday, December 5 Bayelsa State Governorship Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP yesterday raised alarm that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has concluded arrangements to rig the poll through the use of cloned Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs and fake security agents. According to the governors under the aegis, PDP Governors’ Forum, PDPGF stressed that as part of moves to actualize this, the APC has brought in Indians to effect the PVCs’ cloning in order to circumvent the electoral process in Bayelsa state knowing full well that the ruling party knows it cannot win without manipulating the system. The PDP Governors Forum in a statement by its Director General, Earl Osaro Onaiwu in Abuja yesterday disclosed that the Indians, numbering five, were lodged in a hotel owned by an APC chieftain in Port Harcourt, where the card cloning process was ongoing. He said, “The APC is desperate to capture Bayelsa state as an oil-producing state which fits into the party’s inordinate ambition to take over all oil-producing states which was proposed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State. “To achieve this dangerous plan, the APC brought in five Indians, all IT experts, to help them clone PVCs for the Bayelsa governorship election. We are raising this alarm so as to alert Nigerians, the INEC and the international community on the machinations of the APC against democracy and the right of the people to freely elect those that should govern them. “The INEC must demonstrate its independence and commitment to free, fair and credible election by being vigilant and ensure that it does not kowtow to the wimps and caprices of the APC by ensuring that only authentic cards are used.” Also, Onaiwu alleged that part of the sinister plot of the APC include the procurement of police and military uniforms for agents of the party to wear on election day to achieve their plans to rig the poll. The governors who urged the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Arase, the DSS and military authorities to guide against the infiltration of their ranks by fake personnel of the APC, said, “The Forum appeals to the Inspector General, DSS and military authorities to ensure that only real personnel are on the field on election day and not fake APC agents who are already kitted in police and military uniforms to rig the Bayelsa poll for the party. “It is important to remind the security agencies that their failure to checkmate against any perceived illegality by the APC will seriously undermine their integrity to safeguard the people and could seriously erode the people’s confidence in the ability of the various security organs to guarantee their safety.” Cc: lalasticlala http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/apc-has-concluded-arrangements-to-rig-bayelsas-governorship-election-pdp/ |
Politics / Umahi Suspends Jacinta Nworie, Special Adviser by SirSmithHarry(m): 1:50pm On Nov 30, 2015 |
Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, on Monday suspended indefinitely his Special Adviser in charge of Lagos Liason Office, Mrs. Jacinta Nworie, for alleged unruly behavior. A statement issued by the Governor’s Principal Secretary, Nweke Clement, said the suspension followed alleged unruly behaviors and acts unbecoming of a public office holder, which portrayed the state in a bad light. The statement directed the suspended Special Adviser to immediately hand over all government properties in her possession to the most senior civil servant in the office. Mrs. Nworie was last week redeployed back to the state to take over as Special Adviser on Talent Development in the office of the Secretary to the State Government. http://thenationonlineng.net/umahi-suspends-special-adviser-indefinitely/ |

Crime / Man Slaughters Own 4 Children After Quarrel With Wife by SirSmithHarry(m): 5:25pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Kaduna – A middle aged man, on Wednesday in Kaduna slaughtered four of his children and attempted to kill himself after an alleged quarrel with his wife. Neighbours said that the man had quarrelled with the wife throughout the night, forcing her to leave the house located on Ahmadu Bello street in Kawo area of Kaduna metropolis. Thereafter, the man allegedly locked the entrance to the house and used a knife to slaughter the four children aged between six to one year. One of his children who was not in the house at the time, alerted the ward head of the area, when he found the door to the residence locked from inside on Wednesday afternoon. When the neighbours and some policemen forced the door to the house open, the children were already dead while their father was still alive but in serious condition. Police spokesman in the state, Zubairu Abubakar, said that the man and the children had been conveyed to St Gerards General Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna. He said that the police had commenced full investigation into the matter. Cc:lalasticlala http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/man-slaughters-own-4-children-after-quarrel-with-wife/ |
