Mahatma Gandhi's biography must be translated into Hausa for Buhari to read, understand and learn what leadership entails before any sensible Nigerian should think of voting for him. Buhari is history, he had is time and he mis-used it. Please if GEJ isn't working let's look elsewhere...but not from the past!

torkaka:

An accessory is a person who assists in the commission of a crime, but who does not actually participate in the commission of the crime as a joint principal. In some jurisdictions, an accessory is distinguished from an accomplice, who normally is present at the crime and participates in some way. An accessory must generally have knowledge that a crime is being, or will be committed. A person with such knowledge may become an accessory by helping or encouraging the criminal in some way, or simply by failing to report the crime to proper authority. The assistance to the criminal may be of any type, including emotional or financial assistance as well as physical assistance or concealment.A criminal charge of aiding and abetting or accessory can usually be brought against anyone who helps in the commission of a crime, though legal distinctions vary by state. A person charged with aiding and abetting or accessory is usually not present when the crime itself is committed, but he or she has knowledge of the crime before or after the fact, and may assist in its commission through advice, actions, or financial support. Depending on the degree of involvement, the offender's participation in the crime may rise to the level of conspiracy.

people like you don't impress me either so cut the crap.

you made this statement

A fight ensued, what kinda fight are we looking at? 4/5men vs 1, is that really a fight or subjugation? I can picture the guy being beaten by those boys not a fight, i think you have chosen to down play the scenario.

Bright alerted the Neighbors is no news it is a mere survival instinct i don't see the big deal there.

Bright was aware the guys were not thieves no doubt, but how else was he supposed to get help from the vigilante? he should have shouted debtors!! debtors!! debtors!!. is that what you will do?

Using thieves has different faces to it, the day bright borrowed the said money, did he borrow from a squad or one individual?
if i owe one person and a squad comes to collect the money, already, my mind will tell me that the situation is beyond debt. this is common sense.

Bright has stayed long enough in the community to know that the vigilante don't kill robbers or thieves without the Approval of the chief.

we saw the pics of the boys shortly after leaving the chief's premises, were they not looking fresh? is it uncommon for bright to assume that though the vigilante caught them, they still stand a chance to explain the situation to the chief no matter how aggravated?

i tell you what, the real demon is the chief. at some point in all the speculations, the boy's lives were in his hands, conversely, at some point, Bright's life was in the hands of the boys.

About why he ran, so many scenarios must have played out. it is difficult explaining some things to Nigerians in Diaspora or even the over fed baby elephants in lekki what the reality brings.

in most villages where vigilante's operate, not all of them have guns, in fact, i have not heard any police report or speculation that clearly proved the vigilante had guns.

in my own community they don't use guns, rumor has it they have charms or sometimes sticks but i have never seen them with guns.

speculation has it that one of the assailants fired a shot,(though unconfirmed) if vigilante arrives, will you comfortably say that bright has gotten help?

if that was the case, bright got a distraction and that created the opportunity for him to escape.

even in military rescue operations, there is what is called "friendly fire" where the rescuers accidentally kill one of themselves or the the man in captivity, asking why he ran after he got help is a lame line of reasoning.

what kinda help will an armless vigilante render to a person whose assailants are presumed to have a gun? is that real help? and in your infinite wisdom, you expect him to stand and exchange hand shake with the vigilante while one of his assailants have fired a scary shot in the air? (speculations).

If he ran to ph for instance, how is he supposed to keep tab on what the fate of those boys were?

I lost all confidence in the police the moment they presented us with a "false alarm" claim while bright himself was still at large, it is as barbaric as the chief who passed a death sentence on those boys.(speculations)

bright may not get justice after all, little wonder his community is relying on vigilante to protect themselves.

I seem not to get u at all...are trying to change your views?

Purist: And the jungle justice mentality is on display here YET AGAIN. With each passing day, I become more and more convinced that the ALUU incidence is just a microcosm of the larger - and sadly prevalent - Nigerian mentality.

These thirteen people, as of now, are only SUSPECTS, but we have over 95% of Nigerians here already calling for their head. "Burn them!" "Cut off their hands!" "Fry them alive in hot oil!" "Skin them alive!", etc. EXACTLY THE SAME THING the Aluu people did to those four boys who were only suspects at the time, but the people were also eager to "plank them", "burn them", "kill them". Whatever happened to innocent UNTIL proven guilty?

It is a pity that in our attempts to show concern and anger at this barbarism, we have also inadvertently revealed our true UGLY nature in the process. When next you feel compelled to shout and scream, "burn them alive!", "skin and kill them!", go stand in front of a mirror and you might just notice something very, very familiar.

"95% of Nigerians" pls provide proof! Nigerians are asking for JUSTICE not JUNGLE JUSTICE! Let the law take its FULL CAUSE!!!

Max-t, stop wasting your time responding to some people. Only very few nairaland members can reason logically. that's why they are very quick to insult or turn threads into comedy (garri crew ).

I still find it hard that people support five young men walking into another mans house in a dangerous terrain with a weapon at odd hours.
They ve told beautiful stories in support of the boys action. They even claimed it was a false alarm that was raised, some also claim the guy lured them to be killed.

Jungle justice is bad, but they all want everyone in the video killed, even when the sister to one of the boys claim she was also in the crowd.

So many questions begging for ans, but unfortunately, we all have a little bit of Aluu in us.

So many questions begging for ans you say? But initially you had all the answers? You argued back n forth that those kids where "cultist", now many questions are begging for answers? What dou you think will be in the mind of the ruler of the community right now? Let me help you- "Had I known I should have handed them over to the police"...too late!

Your last line "we all have a little bit of Aluu in us", now I understand the kind of person u really are for out of the abundance of the heart...

I am not justifying jungle justice, just applying logic, everyone except a few is responding to this issue exactly the same why the Aluu community did. INCLUDING YOU.

You are not applying logic here, YOU ARE like the ruler who cant make a good decision over d space of time the KIDS were paraded...you are like the lynch mob who MURDERED 4 KIDS without handing them over to authority for proper judgement...and you are on NL trying so hard to OBSTRUCT JUSTICE. ...Advice for you, DONT BE CAUGHT SUPPORTING A LYNCH-MOB ACTION, don't FOLLOW THE MULTITUDE to commit evil.

Laws are created for sanity to prevail in every society, that is why we have all the tiers of d govt, and other civil institutions set up by man to prevent chaos, anomie, civil disorder, lawlessness, and breakdown of the society. It's a fact that our society is in a state of social decay that's why you have people even on social media platform who ought to be "sensible" trying so very hard on NL to justify what befell the Aluu 4...anyhow, the long arm of the LAW will always catch up with offenders and law breakers.

Can you be bold enough to walk into AIG's office to explain what five boys are doing at 5am in another mans house?
What proof do you have that they are there to collect a debt? What proof do you also have that a gun was not carried?
How did a simple debt collection process degenerate into a serious mess that lead to brutal murder of four?
Did they run when the alarm was raised?
Did the debtor want them dead before? He could have just said ''these are my friends'' and everything will be fine?
How did the situation become chaotic? If they were calm and right in the debtors house when the vigilante came, the outcome maybe different.

What most of us also did not think of is the fact that they were given an opportunity to explain there mission to the village head. Their story must be so unconvincing for the village head to sanction their death ( if it is true he actually did). All the time they were being moved around, how come not a single soul recognised or put a call through to people that could help their case?

There are many loopholes in the story told to favor the guys.

THE ONLY SET OF PEOPLE THAT DESERVE PROSECUTION ARE THE GUYS DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN KILLING THE BOYS. EVERYOTHER PERSON CAN ACTUALY PROVE THEIR CASE AND WALK FREE, INCLUDING THE VILLAGE HEAD.

WHAT So the village head gets provisions and allowances from d govt to prosecute and take laws into his hands? Such a ruler isnt fit to be one, he based his decision without proper investigation. Even after investigations, culprits should be dully handed over for PROPER JUDGEMENT to passed according to the constitution.

...you didnt read the account of one of the sister of the KIDS? Guy check you facts very well and STOP JUSTIFYING JUNGLE JUSTICE!!!

rman: ..... the boys are brutally murdered and it is absolutely wrong. But trying to exonorate them from wrong doing by maikng them look like saints ia purely based on emotions.

Are they aremed? YES

Are the there to robb or collect debt? Can not be proven by anyone here.

Are they cultist? Can also not be proven beyond reasonable doubt but a strong case can be made.

Are the killers guilty of murder? Yes

DO we have to apply jungle justice to Aluu? NO

Was a fasle alarm raised? NO

Lesson to be learned from all these:
Students should face there studies in school and good kids should not keep known bad company for any reason (the armed cultist).
The Nigerian police has failed completely in protecting the people, our government needs to wake up.

Most importantly, I HAVE ALSO LEARNT A LOT OF PEOPLE BEHIND NAIRALAND ID'S CAN ALSO KILL IF THEY FEEL IT IS RIGHT LIKE THE ALUU COMMUNITY DID.

What emotions are talking about in your first para.?
Did you see the guns or arms paraded anywhere? Dont base your facts on hearsay...
If your answer to jungle Justice is NO! Then what is your point? Why the argument?

What did he do when his "creditor" and 3 other un-armed KIDS where stripped naked, beaten and marched around in the streets of Aluu? Did he tell the truth? NO! He didnt do any of these.IT WILL BE EASIER TO PROVE ANYWHERE THAT HE WANTED THEM ALL DEAD, a baby lawyer will prove that anywhere.

Alarm was raised by the home owner and NAIRALAND MEMBERS CLAIMED HE RAISED FALSE ALARM! Are we dumb or we are just responding based on emotions or just being hyrocritical like most people are on this site.

HE DIDN'T RAISE ANY FALSE ALARM. The question a right thinking person should ask is, WHAT ARE FOUR "PROCLAIMED INOCCENT" FRIENDS DOING TOGETHER AT THAT TIME OF THE DAY IN THE COMPANY OF A GUY WITH A GUN IN A DNAGEROUS TERRAIN?

Loaded gun theory is hear-say and very IRRELEVANT at this point. Nobody has proven here on Nairaland or anywhere that was actually a loaded gun. The story was that they where robbers at first, and later cultist....pls be consistent or wait for a FORMAL REPORT. As it stands now every SANE HUMAN is crying for justice for the slain kids I dont understand what you and the others stand to gain by defaming the characters of FOUR KIDS who cant defend themselves...

@moukafoam the guy who raised the false alarm has no alibi, cos alibi is used when the accused attempts to prove that he was elsewhere when the crime was committed... Even if the paramount ruler tells the police he passed judgement based on what the vigilante and every other person present at the scene fed him in anycase they all will face the music for taking laws into their hands.

@ dopejemi ...Then probably it would be another murder we are arguing about or a case of cult rivalry. But that seems not to be the case here, the only information available to you and me here (forget heresay)is the video of their killings. So every other are mere speculations, assumptions and "what-if". So many stories everywhere about what really transpired...only stories of them being robbers or cultist- a non-consistent fact. That shows that some kind of covering up and lies are being purported to save some HEADS FROM ROLLING!

Music/Radio / Re: 5 Nigerian Artistes Who Should Quit And Get Day Jobs by smtx(m): 5:18pm On Sep 01, 2012
akraym: If others won’t say it, we will. We are tired of wack artistes being embraced as the real deal. Some acts who parade themselves as the next best thing are really people with no talent who are hell bent on being famous and blocking the way for talented people in an already over-saturated industry.

These artistes can have meaningful day jobs. Not everyone can be a singer, rapper or entertainer. These guys we have listed below need to do us a favour and drop the mic and leave music to the folks who have talent.

1) Flowssickk:
Don’t let the pretty boy looks fool you; Flowssickk knows much about music like our first lady knows about the English language. His debut single “Lowkey” was based off a Wizkid line and didn’t pop until the Clarence Peters video came out. His follow-up single “Ringtone” is languishing in nowhere-ville. Flowssickk doesn’t really offer much musically. When his wack bars couldn’t cut it he switched to pop music. With lines such as “she dey use MTN but I give her the Glo” Flowssickk should quit the music scene go back to school and come out with a degree, hopefully.

2) Tunde Ednut:
When this dude came on the scene, he “claimed” to be a comedian who had won several awards in the UK. The funny thing is that Mr. Tunde hasn’t pursued his stand-up comedy trade in Nigeria which has a more lucrative industry. The young man has decided to pursue a career in music. Well the good news is that his songs will crack your ribs. They are funny (and wack) as hell! Clearly we can all see Tunde Ednut is a struggle artiste but yet he remains hell bent on making Nigerians suffer. Don’t be fooled by “Catching Cold” remix, Tunde Ednut cannot crack a joke and crack the music charts. My guy you need a day job, we heard Dangote is hiring with good pay too.

3) Sina Rambo:
OMG! Sina Rambo is the epitome of wackness in rap music. Kids in kindergarten classes have better rhymes. His delivery is poor and wordplay is non-existent. This guy shouldn’t be labeled as a rapper. His level of wackness is yet to be qualified. The only reason why this guy has a record deal is because he is related to the minimally talented Davido. I fear for the worst in that family. Sina go back to school, get a degree and run of the companies in your rich family’s portfolio.

4) B-Red:
It’s hard to believe that two brothers can be on the same level of wackness. It happens every 9,000 years. B-Red and Sina Rambo are the one in every 9,000 years. No need to write much on B-Red. The same applies to him to. He is as wack as his brother.

5) Dencia:
We ain’t even going to front, Dencia is eye candy. The only problem is that her songs make you want to cut your ears. No female artiste blatantly uses sex appeal to further her career like Dencia. There is nothing wrong in this if her songs are good. They are not! Career advice Dencia, the video vixen industry is popping in Nigeria, we feel your talents are required there. Singing is not in your foreseeable future or in any future for that matter. Please leave the mic alone

Seriously, I dont know these guys...
