Can we move on from this passport palaver.. I spoke with an officer at the Immigration Office and he said if you have exit and entry stamp on your passport it will not be collected unless you want them to have it.
Your international passport is your evidence of travel history and if you have a valid visa on your passport will you leave it with Nigeria Immigration even if there's no visa stamp on it... you can still use it as an ID and use it for local flights in the country... I'm not accusing you of anything because it's fishy if they have to collect your expired passport with entry and exit stamp on it because there goes your evidence of your travel to those country which means it's not admissible and it's misrepresentation... I don't care about where you've been or what you do... if we can't accept reason on this thread we will lose our credibility maybe this is the reason why @LagosNIV did not bother with this issue.
NB By the way I did not call you criminal I questioned why you leave your passport with them.

Thanks for the clarification @seyewest.

Nobody is disputing her claim, just trying to know how questions that might arise in relation to her old passport travel history will be defended.

I could remember few weeks back when The federal government directed the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to retrieve all valid diplomatic and official passports from holders who are no longer entitled to carry them so this might have also affected the person in question.

Foreign Affairs / I Want To Give Power Back To The Church – Donald Trump by Solo84(m): 9:15am On Nov 10, 2016
In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Donald Trump wants to see Christian pastors speak more boldly from the pulpit because as he sees it, “the church has to have more power.” He’s referring to the passage of The Johnson Amendment in which the U.S. tax code was altered so that tax-exempt organizations (like churches in many instances) would not be allowed to endorse or oppose political candidates.

Trump says the federal government should never have done that. “They’ve taken a lot of the power away from the church. I want to give power back to the church. … Christianity is really being chopped; little by little it’s being taken away.”

Trump continues: “I want pastors and ministers to be able and get up and speak on behalf of Christianity, and they’re afraid to do it right now because they don’t want to lose their tax exempt status. We will take care of that.”

The Brody File has interviewed Trump numerous times, and this is the first time he’s ever mentioned the Johnson amendment as it relates to pastors speaking out from the pulpit.

Trump leads with evangelicals in South Carolina. His no-nonsense strong approach is attractive to some evangelicals. In public, he can be rough around the edges for sure but his narrative is of a guy who gets things done.

His brand is accomplishment and so when he says he’s going to “take care of the evangelicals” and start winning again for Christianity, many people believe him at face value. It’s a great “trump” card to have in your political hip pocket.

Politics / BREAKING: House Clears 3 Lawmakers Accused Of Sexual Misconduct by Solo84(m): 3:24pm On Oct 11, 2016
The house of representatives has cleared the three lawmakers accused of sexual misconduct scandal by the United States.

The decision of the lower chamber to exonerate them was sequel to recommendations of the joint committees of ethics and privileges and foreign affairs who had investigated the matter.

The recommendations given by the committees were:

“That Hon. Mohammed Garba Gololo, Hon. Mark Terseer Gbillah and Hon. Samuel Ikon are cleared of and exonerated from the allegations levelled against them by the United States Ambassador to Nigeria in his June 9, 2016 letter to the Rt. Hon. Speaker, for want of evidence.

“That in the light of the foregoing, the Hon Minister of Foreign Affairs do engage with the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, with a view to finding a seamless resolution of the domestic fallout of this unfortunate incident as it relates to Hon. Mohammed Garba Gololo, Hon. Mark Terseer Gbillah and Hon. Samuel Ikon;

“That the Ministry of Foreign affairs do write to remind the United States Embassy of the need to always adopt the official channel of communications in its dealings with any organ or institution of government.”

The house approved of the recommendations after it was put to a voice vote Yusuf Lasun, deputy speaker.

James Entwistle, the then American ambassador to Nigeria, had written to the house in June, accusing Ikon, Gololo and Gbillah of seeking the services of sex workers while they were attending a leadership programme in Cleveland, Ohio, in the US.

“It is with regret that I must bring to your attention the following situation. Ten members of the Nigerian national assembly recently travelled to Cleveland, Ohio, as participants in the International Visitor Leadership Programme on good governance,” read Entwistle’s letter.

“We received troubling allegations regarding the behaviour of three members of the delegation to the U.S. Government’s flagship professional exchange programme.‎

“The U.S. Department of State and the Cleveland Council on World Affairs received reports from employees of the Cleveland hotel where the representatives stayed, alleging the representatives engaged in the following behaviour: ‘Mohammed Garba Gololo allegedly grabbed a housekeeper in his hotel room and solicited her for sex.

“While the housekeeper reported this to her management, this incident could have involved local law enforcement and resulted in legal consequences for Representative Gololo. Mark Terseer Gbillah and Samuel Ikon allegedly requested hotel parking attendants assist them to solicit prostitutes.

“The U.S. Mission took pains to confirm these allegations and the identities of the individuals with the employees of the hotel in Cleveland.

“The conduct described above left a very negative impression of Nigeria, casting a shadow on Nigeria’s national assembly, the International Visitor Leadership Program, and to the American hosts’ impression of Nigeria as a whole. Such conduct could affect some participants’ ability to travel to the United States in the future.

“While the majority of Nigerian visitors to the United States do behave appropriately, even a few Nigerians demonstrating poor judgement leads to a poor impression of the Nigerian people generally, though it is far from accurate. Such incidents jeopardise the ability of future programming and make host institutions and organisations less likely to welcome similar visits in the future.

“I request, in the strongest possible terms, you share this message with members of the National Assembly so they understand the seriousness of these issues, and the potential consequences of their actions, not only for themselves as individuals, but also for the future of such programmes designed to benefit Nigeria.”

All three lawmakers denied the allegation, while the house set up a panel to probe the matter. However, Entwistle, who had earlier claimed to be in possession of video evidence of his allegations, shunned the sitting of the panel on at least two occasions

Photos of the interiors of the home of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has hit the internet. The multi million dollar mansion situated in Abuja is worth $30Million (N5b) and it spells out luxury. According to Africa Cradle, Dangote has called the mansion home for good twelve years, and he just completed a new piece of real estate in the United Kingdom.

Talking about his living room, he said:”Television is an invention that permits you to be entertained in your living room by people you wouldn’t have in your home. I love watching television. I watch a lot of business channels, such as Bloomberg TV, which is my favourite and many others. I look forward to the day when AFRICA will have quality media, which gives us good entertainment, and insightful information into African business trends and those from other parts of the world as well. But yeah, welcome, this is my living room.”

Talking about his kitchen, he said: “They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. It is where the meals are created – it fuels the bodies, minds and souls of friends and families all over the world. Some say that while life may be created in the bedroom, it is certainly lived in the kitchen. ”

TV/Movies / AIT Fires All Workers In Benin Station by Solo84(m): 5:55pm On Jun 14, 2016
– Latest decision may be a reaction to the recent protest by the workers
– Feelers say their chairman’s travails in the hands of EFCC may have affected them as well

Reports credited to The Nation have it that the African Independent Television (AIT) has fired all its workers in Benin City with immediate effect.

The affected workers were said to have been owed upward of two years before the company’s management took the decision to terminate their contract on Tuesday, June 14.

The letter conveying the management’s decision was signed by Victor Okasoga, the company’s senior manager in charge of HR.

According to the letter, those affected are expected to “handover all company properties in your possession especially your identity cards to the Head of Center.

“Failure to surrender company properties in your possession may delay the processing of your entitlements.”

This sudden decision by the company may have been as a result of the recent protest carried out by the affected workers including reporters, cameramen, presenters and producers.

Recall that Chief Alegho Raymond Dokpesi, the chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, owners of AIT, was on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Dokpesi, who was on trial for a six-count charge of money laundering and other fraud related charges, was taken to Kuje prison on Monday, December 14.

According to the charge, Dokpesi allegedly received about N2.1 billion from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) for PDP’s ‎presidential media campaign.‎

Justice Gabriel Kolawole had granted the media mogul bail. The conditions for bail are N200 million each (N400m) by two sureties and the judge ordered that he should be remanded in Kuje prisons pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.

Although feelers from the independent tv station informed that the salaries were being owed before the trial of their boss commenced, it is not impossible that his recent trials are part of the current crisis rocking the media firm.

Politics / EFCC Recovers $1m In ‘soak-away’ @ex-air Chief Amosu’s House,n3bn Traced In Wife by Solo84(m): 12:12pm On Feb 12, 2016
A huge amount of $3 million has allegedly been recovered by the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the EFCC, kept in a soak-away pit at Badagry resident of the embattled past Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd) reported by New Telegraph Newspaper.
Another N3 billion also traced to his wife, Lara Amosu bank account, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission source revealed to New Telegraph Newspaper.
According to New Telegraph, the EFCC has arrested, Lara, the wife of the immediate past Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd), over the arms procurement scandal. Impeccable sources told New Telegraph that Mrs. Lara Amosu was picked up by the EFCC operatives last week in Abuja.
She has been in the custody of the EFCC in Lagos for the past one week. It was learnt that her lawyer has been battling without success to get her released. Mrs. Amosu’s arrest followed the alleged discovery of about N3 billion in her bank accounts. She was allegedly holding the money in trust for her husband.
A source informed New Telegraph that other properties traced to the former CAS were also being held by his wife and children.
New Telegraph had reported that the EFCC discovered N17.5 billion in the accounts of wives of three airforce chiefs. The monies were scattered in various banks accounts.

A source familiar with the investigation told New Telegraph that N13 billion was traced to the bank accounts of a wife of a retired Air Vice Marshal, who held strategic position in the Nigeria Air Force (NAF). In the bank accounts of another wife of a serving senior officer, N1.5 billion was found. New Telegraph learnt that the officers handled the finance, budget and accounts of NAF.
Amosu was arrested two weeks ago by the EFCC over his involvement in the arms scandal. “Shortly after Amosu was picked up in Abuja, his wife, Lara, was subsequently arrested. Investigations conducted showed that some of the monies the former Chief of Air Staff made through some contracts and procurements in NAF were traced to his wife’s accounts.

“About N3 billion was traced to the wife’s accounts while some assets acquired by the former service chief was in her name and some others in her company’s name. “So, Lara is an accessory to a crime. The proceeds with her are from the arms funds. As we prosecute her husband, she must also be held accountable,” a source told New Telegraph.

It was further learnt that the wife of Air Vice Marshal J.B. Adigun, Chief of Account and Budget of NAF, has travelled out of the country two weeks ago, shortly after the arrest of her husband. The hurried trip was said to have become necessary in the face of the arms probe. Adigun has been indicted by the presidential arms panel. He is in the EFCC custody. Several of his properties in Lagos and Abuja have been seized by the antigraft agency. Billions of naira was said to have been traced to Adigun’s wife’s accounts.
New Telegraph has also learnt that the EFCC retrieved $1 million cash in Amosu’s residence in his residence in Badagary, Lagos. A source told New Telegraph that the money, in foreign currency, was retrieved when EFCC operatives carried out a search on Amosu’s residence in Badagry.
According to the source: “In continuation of the investigation into the arms probe, the EFCC operatives took Amosu to his residence in Badagry. After a thorough search of the residence, a fresh small ‘soakaway’ pit was discovered in the compound. The operatives suspected foul play, which informed the breaking of the ‘soakaway’. Surprisingly, $1 million was found in it. The money was subsequently confiscated.”
New Telegraph also learnt that Air Commodore Akinwale (rtd) who manages the St. Solomon Health Care Limited, an ultra-modern diagnostic centre owned by Amosu, along Adeniyi Jones Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos is still in the custody of the EFCC. The retired airforce officer oversees the medical centre on behalf of Amosu.
The diagnostic centre has been sealed off by the anti-graft agency. Meanwhile, the EFCC is still keeping Amosu, Adigun, and Air Commodore O. Gbadebo in Lagos. A source said that the anti-graft agency has been taking the indicted officers to assets traced to them, considered to have been acquired through funds illegally realised from the arms procurement. Some of the identified properties have been sealed off.

Amosu, Adigun and Gbadebo were arrested two weeks ago in Abuja. Impeccable sources told New Telegraph that the trio were flown into Lagos in an airforce aircraft on a Sunday and discreetly kept in a hotel.
The arrest and interrogation of Amosu is coming after New Telegraph had exclusively reported in the November 30, 2015 edition, that the Federal Government had directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to prosecute the ex-CAS. Amosu, Adigun, Gbadebo and other indicted officers are being investigated over 10 NAF contracts totalling $930,500,690 awarded to Societe D’ Equipments Internationaux (SEI) Nig Ltd. between January 2014 and February 2015.
The award letters, according to the arms probe panel, contained misleading delivery dates, suggesting fraudulent intent in the award process.
Operatives are also grilling the ex-chief of army staff and the two senior officers over the procurement of two used Mi-24V Helicopters instead of the recommended Mi- 35M series at the cost of $136,944,000. The helicopters were discovered to be excessively priced and not operationally airworthy at the time of delivery.

The arms probe panel established that a brand new unit of Mi-24V Helicopter goes for about $30 million. The helicopters were delivered without rotor blades and upgrade accessories.
The three of them are also being grilled over the procurement of four used Alpha-Jets for the NAF at the cost of $7,180,000. Whereas NAF paid for four used Alpha-Jets, the panel confirmed that only two of the Alpha-Jet aircraft were ferried to Nigeria after cannibalisation of engines from the NAF fleet.

They are also being investigated in the procurement of 36D6 Low Level Air Defence Radar for NAF, which was awarded to GAT Techno Dynamics Ltd in April 2014 at the cost of $33 million under his watch.

Events / Pregnant Teenager Says Jesus Is The Father Of Her Baby by Solo84(m): 8:50am On Feb 12, 2016
– Teenager says she was divinely impregnated

– Adds that she will call for paternity test after delivery to confirm her statement

– Doctor says her pregnancy as a virgin has been confirmed

Latifah Smith-Nabengana, a pregnant 15-year-old teenager from Ohio has claimed that Jesus Christ is the father of her unborn baby.

According to her, an angel, during an encounter in July 2015, ‘divinely impregnated’ her while explaining that she she had been chosen to bear a child for Jesus Christ.

World News Daily Report quoted her to have said: “He told me that he was a Nephilim, like those described in the Bible.

“He told that he had a message from Jesus, He said that I was going to be pregnant, and that I would give birth to a son, Jesus’ son.”

According to the Bible in Genesis 6:4, “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”

Everyone in her family has since shown support for her since she announced it to them.

Dr William Franklin Murphy, who has been monitoring the teenager’s pregnancy, informed that he is aware of her version, but is unable to either confirm or invalidate her claims.

The gynecologist said: “For all I know, her pregnancy seems normal. Her claims of ‘Virgin pregnancy’ are technically true, but that doesn’t mean there was a divine intervention. I can tell you that it’s a boy, but there no way for me to determine if it is Jesus’ son until he is born. If she asks for a DNA test at that time, then we can tell you who the father is.”

The doctor, being aware of some laws concerning medical secrets, refused to discuss any detail concerning the young woman’s pregnancy.

The young lady has further stated that she wants a paternity test as soon as her son is born, just to show that she was not hallucinating with her claims.
