Ejay88: Yes, try Univeristy of the West of Scotland.
Ebalafaa:
I confirm that University of Abertay Dundee does. Thank you very much for your reply. She applied to UWS and got admitted for MSc. She also applied to Strathclyde and got admitted so she is happy to go with Strathclyde which is one of the top 10 in UK. Plus she also got a scholarship of 4k from them making it cheaper and more affordable than UWS |

T3012: @ STENON, I am new here but making inquiries on behalf of my sister. Appreciate your insight:
-BEd Educational management in 2010 then NYSC with school teaching for a year or so. -MEd Educational Admin and planning from 2012- 2014 but has not really been teaching since then. Now in the process of getting her TRCN with the hopes of moving to Scotland or Ireland to get back into teaching, doesn't have to be in England. Interest is in primary education. The PGDE option was considered but cost will be an issue. The GTCS in Scotland looks promising even if it's a provisional registration but the concern has been time out of the classroom. Thoughts on strategy and next steps?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I think you are doing the right thing. With PGDE primary Education which is 9 months, next is to be employed as a probational Teacher for one year which is definitely going to count as work experience for her. I am afraid all other qualifications would not be recognised just for now and MEd and TRCN should be kept as a secret for now, they are definitely going to help her move up the ladder of Leadership once she get into the primary school system. The only requirement for now is PGDE so as to get registered with GTCS. |

TeeNic: @STENON okay ...in other words, you’re suggesting I should apply for another diploma degree yeah? Instead of applying for a teaching Job directly from Nigeria? If yes, what program/course will u suggest I study? And if you think I should try the job application route from Nigeria, how do I go about it ? Thanks! I won't advice Job application route from Nigeria as there are thousands of Teachers who are currently unemployed in UK. It is a bit difficult for an employer to employ a Teacher from non EU country. Try and apply for PGDE in UK, or let your wife apply for a course, then come as her dependant which is definitely going to give you a work permit visa . 1 Like 1 Share |

Yes you are responsible for it. Scan doesn't calculate when last you had sex with your partner but always add some few weeks to it. Have you calculated the date shown on her Expected Date of Delivery (EDD) is 40 weeks(10 months) but not 36 weeks (9 months ) ? Were you taught that people get pregnant for 10 months or 9 months !! 9 Likes |

thanks omo papa. Yes, I thought of students route but too expensive to afford at once..I was thinking the few months childcare savings from her visitation would be helpful for paying tuition fees, but the ECO got my code 1 Like |

To ensure she got some ties to Nigeria (working and earning well).........
Once your sister is above 18 years old, you really have no control over her ..........
If the visa is granted and she decides not to return, you guys cannot force her ..... You gerrit .......
Yes sir. Thanks |

She must prove financial stability and also show ties to naija...make it look like she cant wait to come back naija...
thank you. Thinking student visa should be better ? |

Very high likelihood she will still be denied. She hasn’t shown (by means of evidence) a compelling tie to home. If you do not show her bank statements, how will you proof that she is so comfortable at hone financially that she is able to afford hundreds (May, thousands) of ££ for a ‘Holiday’? ‘Holiday’ from what? Work? Job?
Naah….
PS: if it were that ‘easy’ all of us for don ‘import’ our unmarried younger sisters to come on holidays…. (I mean no harm). Thank you, but she is not paying anything, we are sponsoring her trip. What is the best thing to say she is coming for? |
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by STENON(f): 4:26pm On Aug 03, 2021 |
Thank you all for the advice. We actually invited her to come over for holiday and tourism and we wrote a supporting statement that she is definitely going back to continue her work. The bank statement was the main issue as pointed out. Is it wise to re-apply but without using the bank statement again? |

Let me put myself in the shoes of the ECO 1. Single, unmarried young woman. Loose ties to home. Red flag.
2. Earnings per year: Suggests she is not gainfully employed. Red flag.
3. Bank statements: 142 naira closing statement on some days. Suggests she is not financially stable. Red flag.
4. Wanting to visit the UK for holidays. Holidays? When her account statement shows that she can barely live comfortably in Nigeria? Red flag.
5. Has applicant shown proof that she will be motivated strongly enough to go back to Nigeria after 2 months? NO. From evidence provided, does it appear she could hit the UK and get missing? Yes.
Risk Assesment: HIGH RISK.
Visa: Denied. 1 Like |

tushqueen: I'm interested in this visa refusal. If I may ask, is it compulsory to show the applicant's bank statement when she is fully sponsored? I think that was my mistake. But I was trying to show that I always send her money everymonth just as a sister. |

Goodafternoon. I applied for my younger sister for 6 months visiting visa but she was refused. She is a graduate, worked with a private hospital in Nigeria for 1 year prior to January 2021. She left her job, moved to stay with my Parents as Home Care Assistant because they are old and now wanted to visit for holiday. I and My husband are sponsoring her trip but I was disappointed based on the reason for refusing her visa. Why are they interested in her bank details ?? 1 Like
