DeepSight:

You actually have not addressed the point or what I said. I repeat: Russia took most of the pain and torture of Nazi wrath in WW2. So much so that Stalin accused the Western Allies of being cowardly at his meeting with Churchill when the latter visited him to firm up their pact. Of course this greatly irritated Churchill's pride but that is neither here nor there. You need to understand that one is by no means taking anything away from the United States. Their contribution was most crucial and certainly decisive on the Western Front. But on the Western Front you had the US, Britain, Canada, Free French Forces along with an assortment of British Empire troops advancing on Germany after D-Day.

On the Eastern Front you had only Russia. The invasion of Russia remains the largest invasion in history. Their fight-back remains the largest fight-back in history. By the time they flooded Berlin they were coming with some two million men and they had lost almost twenty million. The US by contrast sat an ocean away from the scene of battle and was therefore mostly immune to any attack from the enemy owning to the limited technology of the time. Thus it remains true that Russia bore most of the brunt of the war in Europe. This is an indisputable fact. This is also the reason they had the largest territory when Germany was split up after the war.

Head to head today, dont let anyone deceive you: the US is NOT the only country in the world with astonishing military technology any more. War has evolved and there are so many secret weapons the major powers hold which are unknown to the public. A single small country with sufficiently bright and sophisticated hackers can immobilize the entire high-tech weaponry of another power through a simple cyber-attack. So please you have to think deep and wide on matters like this, we are far beyond the days of Rambo defeating entire foreign armies single-handedly in Hollywood movies.

My thoughts exactly. The US greatest weapon is propaganda, even the American citizens themselves know that their military can be rivaled and surpassed. But the propaganda they've been spreading will make people think they are the best. Anyone who actually thinks for himself would know. There's no point arguing wit those that don't. Nothing you say or do will change their mind

I really love the arguments I'm seeing here. Even the ones where people are bringing up wrong and outdated stats. First off, America is a not so great country. The world has changed a lot from WW2, I don't know think they've won a war since then and they didn't win that war alone. Russia did most of the work. You're boasting of America's strength, yet they lost to rice farmers in Vietnam and goat herders that they themselves trained in Afghanistan. The flaws in the US army is becoming more obvious by the day. I wouldn't know who would win in a fight today but my bet would be on russia on the sole reason that US has lots of weak friends/ally e.g France, Germany, Japan etc. And also they have lots of strong enemies who wouldn't mind joining up with russia just to see the US
burn eg North Korea, China, Iran (they all have nuclear arsenal).
There's still much more to say but stop glorifying the US, a nation that couldn't stop an assault on their Capitol building. You don't know how that alone made US a laughing stock to the rest of the world

Someone actually said they'd win Russia in an hour, please if you're that person don't reply to this
