What makes a man or woman beautiful/handsome is THE POTENTIALS THAT LIES INSIDE THAT PERSON, WHICH COMPRISES OF THE PERSONS CHARACTER,ATTITUDE AND WAY OF REASONING,

Mcjiro ~ AGREE

Actions are a man's way of saying things about oneself without talking, I also feel beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what one may find beautiful, another may not.

Our eyes tend to take everything in, how someone responds, smiles, is it genuine, bascially all coming back to ones actions.

actions of good character tend to make a person glow = beauty

actions of bad character tend to make a person look bleak = ugly

Religion / Re: I Find Church Services Boring by tamj(f): 5:06am On Jul 30, 2007
We should go to church not to be entertained but to be closer to God, to mingle with others that feel the same need.  To be there for others to encourage them and to be encouraged.

The other thoughts that come to mind when I read this topic were if God is embedded in our heart as he should be, then we should feel joy to be able to go to a place of worship that allows us to speak his name openly and without worry of ridicule.

Too often in this world we are working, mingling with people that do not hold the same beleifs that we do about things and him, and at times, although we may try not to allow this to happen thier ways tend to rub off upon us, especially if we do not touch base so to speak.

We should always go to church for our own souls.

I feel work and personal life should be kept separate. Think of it this way, if things work out, what about your other subordinates? They may view anything you do as favortism towards her. Then again if you two date and then it does not work out, can you professionally separate yourself and work with her, with hurt or even anger between the two of you?
Religion / Re: Where Do We Go When We Die? by tamj(f): 7:08am On Jul 29, 2007
I lost a daughter several years ago, and although I have always known death is possible at anytime for anyone, it never dawned on me to question or really think of the afterlife or where we wait until judgement day, until my dauthers passing.

I have always held on to the verses from Luke 16:22-23 ~ And it came to pass, that the beggar dies, and was carraied by the angels to Abraham's bosom, the rich man also died and was buried, and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments and seeth Abraham from afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

It always brought comfort to me to know my Gwennie was safe in Abraham's bosom, and not in the ground waiting on judgement day, how could she be judged after all, she was only 14 hours old,

5 things I am most grateful for ~  to know Christ as my Savoir, to have had the wonderful opportunity to have held my daughter before she passed, to be blessed with three loving children who continually bring great joy to my life, for having loving God fearing parents, who brought me up in the Church and for being blessed with my extended family and friends both at work and at home.

http://www.teachingtruth.org/bibleDrill/A/drill.cgi  This is a really neat site that changes everytime you finish taking the quiz, it also tells you the verses to go to if you get the answer wrong, try it, I think you all may enjoy it.

dontworry ~ wow, thank you for your response, it was very flattering, however, I am not sure I am ready to start something online again. Thank you though,

Denex ~ thank you for taking the time to speak to me earlier and now, it was very thoughtful of you, and although I admit I didn't want to hear what you were saying to me, as it just confirmed everything all my freinds were saying, I really needed to hear it. Thank you so much Denex~

Oberin ~ my apologies if I appeared rude in my response to yours, today has just not been a "Good" day, and although that still does not make my short reply right, I just needed you to know I am not like that, (snappy)

How true that would if it were as it was at 1 something in the morning, since that time frame, I have found that the NIgerian man I had been speaking to has been or is involved in a fraud scam. I am lucky that I was able to find this website and lucky that I did post early this morning when I did, because I was able to connect with a person who actually showed me the things I guess I already knew to be true, yet needed to hear it from an unbiased source. I am single, and looking, and had met the previous Nigerian man through Eharmony. Is there anything else I can explain to you?

Romance / Re: White Girls Dating Nigerian Men by tamj(f): 4:18am On Jul 28, 2007
I have recently started to date a very sweet Nigerian Yoruban man, I am very curious and have many questions.  Is it customary for a Nigerian born man to have an americanized name and a native name?  Since I am a caucasion woman, with biracial children from a previous marriage, I wonder if the acceptance from his family of myself and my children will be similar to what I would/could expect from an American black family, or if the culture is different and is it more acceptable in Osun State (I believe that is the spelling)?   If I wanted to send a gift to his mother, what would be an acceptable gift?  I do not wish to offend the sweet woman that raised this loving man, so any help in that regard would be greatly appreciated.   I was raised in a very stong Christian home, and color was never a topic persay, so to me, the love I am starting to feel for this man, is just that, for a this loving man who just happens to be from Nigeria and is a Yoruban man.  I wish to know more about his culture and traditions, and would like to know of any great websites to be able to gather this information.  Thanks and God Bless!  smiley

Please disregard earlier questions, as since I posted this early this morning, I have been informed by a fellow Nairaland man that was so kind to help me with answering some of the above questions, also told me some things, which led me to tell him some things that were bothering me about my relationship with this Nigerian man that I spoke of above, and things I knew I should have come to the conclusion he was scamming me, and I didn't but it was very kindly said to me by the a nice young man that money I sent because he claimed to have had malaria, was indeed, the beginnine or down payment of a scam. I am the fool. As they say, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, Thanks to all that did read this and were going to reply.
