He should remain steadfast and prove his case in court desisting from "Dino-esque" shenanigans. Most importantly, we all should stop feasting on the lies being fed to us by the media and demand for fair trial and justice. This can happen to any one of us tomorrow. I wonder why osibanjo is silent in all of this

Please remain objective, if he’s found culpable he wld resign with his own hand & by his own volition & face the consequences.

So this man has plunged to this level.

When his case has become bad to worst, he has decided to whip up sentiment after it died at the Court of Appeal.

He has resorted to pillar to post approach to get sympathy. I pity all the fools that protested for this man.

By this petition, he wants to tell us that he has another source of funds which should explain the pounds and dollars in his account. Secondly, we as Nigerians should have empathy on him because he is just being a Fulani victim, from Aso villa to his farm in Nassarawa state.

My farm has been invaded by fulani since 2010 and became worst in 2015. If we investigate well, we would find his farm has been invaded several times before but it is now he has found need to write a petition, when he needs all the sympathy he can muster.

Did you check if he had reported it before ? How are you sure it isn’t the media houses who are making it a big deal because they want to sell papers.

This matter of invasion isn’t new & it’s been reported severally to the very same police and not to the newspapers, so how did they get the petition, was it them he reported to?

And he does have the farm as an alternate source of income no crime there! The farm has been in existence for years if you don’t know about it dsnt mean it didn’t exist.

And he dsnt need your sympathy, to what end! Do you hear him responding to their narrative

What does "the farm, which belongs to the family of Onnoghen" mean? Does the farm belong to Onnoghen himself, his father or his grandfather?

The if the farm is making so much dollars, where are the tax receipts? He cannot tell US that a whole chief Justice is evading taxes.

I’ll help you, it means it belongs to Himself, wife & kids that’s his family, understand now?

And he never said the farm is making dollars tho it does make money which he can convert and save as he likes, no crime there!

Evading taxes? why don’t you ask the pple who making the farm issue like news to tell you.

That farm has been existence for years. He goes every Saturday until he became CJN & cldnt make it as often.

It’s always been in the public space, just cos you don’t know about it dsnt mean it don’t exist.

And all this uproar about herdsmen attack on he’s farm, all you guys need to do is go find out from the Nasarawa police station. The Attacks did not start today. They’ve rustled cattle from there before it’s why there’s none there so someone dsnt get killled over a cow. Lightings, water pumps, solar panels have all been stolen before, nothing new there.

All you really have to do is to check for the reports at the police station, it’s all documented.

He’s written before about it by the same person but it’s now news worthy by newspapers and pple who wld like to throw shades

You want a crooked CJN with unexplainable hidden 3 million dollars to clear his "good name, innocence and suspension", really! I'm not surprised though, corruption is a now a profession for this generation of Nigerians.

What 3 million dollars, did you even see the purported EFCC prelim report.

Tho we can’t give it much credence as to its source but it’s the only document out there as to what’s in the account cos if I tell you the actual figure you wldnt believe so I’ll go with their purported report.

The figure they are quoting now is nothing close to what you mentioning there and the actual figure from what I’ve seen is even less but don’t believe me.

Some of you guys are really jokers, honestly. A man said his farm was attacked all of a sudden pple have twisted it to mean he said he got his money from there or the farm just sprung up.

That farm has been in existence for years & he’s never hidden it, he’s had problem of cattle rustling before it’s why he dsnt have cattle there before someone gets killed over a cow. Got to the police station in Nasarawa, the reports are there.

That AGRIC CODE the mischievous OP is trying to imply that it is he’s farm is actually the name of aninvestment portfolio at standard Chartered Bank.

Going by the so called EFCC report, they have reduced the money’s found from BILLIONS to millions of NAIRA and THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS with their source being investments, treasury bills and shares and 55 house to 1 house in Chari close .

Now they are throwing SHIT at the wall hoping one wld stick.

The man is no fool, you don’t keep money in your account as a civil servant you can’t justify. He’s asked them to go ahead with their investigation, they are very free.

Let me help quote you rightly and state that:

1) You don't know what you're typed at all. He filed for error in declaration of assets as said in his confession and there was no due updates as regard the present status of his assets.

2) You still don't understand what you typed, the amount I stated was at 2011 not 2018. Even in 2011 that's too much but I won't be surprised that was an era where corruption was legal.

3) You're still confirming my submission further by asking if it's a crime to open a foreign account. Is he a bureau de change that he's operating 5 DOM accounts?

4) You said not all civil servants are poor, that's laughable. Which court judgement is he passing that made him N1 billion from 2011 to 2018?

I insist stop supporting corruption, what is wrong is wrong.

That's all

1 Wld be dealt with in court no worries there.

2 Dont let poverty cloud your judgment, I knew what I typed; even in 2011, dollar wasn’t much. Anyone who earned well cld easily access it, there was no big deal. Even I paid my fees in the US 2013 with my own savings, $55k and I didn’t steal it I worked & saved for it, best believe it. And I’ll even help you further, that money you quoted has grown to $519k, smart investments from the man you all want to hate.

3 Never said he had a foreign account, please read my post. All the monies are DOMICILED in NIGERIA, Standard Chartered Bank Wuse 2. With BVN. Go check. And what’s wrong in having as many dom accounts as you like, what’s the crime here, I’ve got 2 so?

4 There are many rich, I repeat very rich civil servants all legitimate. Come to Abuja if you can I’ll show you. My wife is 1, just level 8 her accommodation allowance is 1.7mill civil service; she buys dollars and saves it in her dom account. In 4 yrs she’s accumulated $20k+ already. 20yrs down the line your elk wld call her corrupt cos she was wise enough to invest & save her money.

I insist don’t support tyranny cos it’s consequences even you can’t live with it.

Transaction amounting to N1 billion is on record and the actual balance has been mentioned accordingly and it's also on record.

In one standard chartered bank, there was $391,401.28 and that's as at January 31, 2011.

In another standard chartered bank there was a balance of 49,971.71 euros as at January 31, 2011.

The pound sterling account have a balance of 23,409.66 as at February 28, 2011.

All these were what he claimed to forget to declare in 2016? C'mon and as at 2018 he's operating 5 DOM accounts and additional 50 properties undeclared.

If you're still defending this, it tells me something about you.[/quote

He didn’t forget to declare it in 2016, he actually filled two forms in 2016 covering period he omitted and the period till he retires, whats the issue here.

1 billion & 50 houses on record, right ? No wahala. He’s waiting for them to prove it.

Don’t believe me but he’s got 1 house in Abuja, Gana street to be precise bought from the govt,no 1 stays there it’s dilapitated, not too sure but not more than 3 in calabar, what I’ve actually seen 1 personal, very very old & the rest are rented property nothing special, but hey you don’t have to believe me, all wld be reveled in due course.

And when has it become a crime to have money domiciled in foreign currency, in Nigeria. if I decide today keep my savings in foreign currencies because it holds better value, what crime have I committed?

All the money’s you’ve mentioned have been explained away as to their source, his bankers are alive they wld testify as to how it came about.

You do the math to what you’ve mentioned, are you saying it’s impossible for a man who’s held an office that actually pays not to have that much money, and all the money you’ve mentioned isn’t up to 150mill. So what’s the issue here. We talking of investments over a 30yr period, Savings & all. And this is to guide & protect against the very same thing we lament about pensioners about. Now hes been demonized!

Not all civil servants are poor, some are legitimate rich guys.

Don’t worry, I don’t care about what you think about me. I pray we all alive to live & see the consequences of the evil we support today cos it dsnt affect us personally.

There's a provision that allows all declared assets to be updated BEFORE the renewal time frame. You cannot file for an error and not update your declaration.

I said it already, this man was trying to outsmart the system. His record of deposits were enough to sell him out and not to mention the overall sum. The CCB rules says, when there's a change in your declaration in any form; maybe an added assets of some sort or a false declaration, you're allowed to file for error and update accordingly even before the end of the 4 years period stated for renewal.

All I see here is a smart man trying to outsmart the system he understands very well and hide over N1 billion. I can't be sentimental about this. This is pure corruption!

The forms where updated so I don’t know what you on about. He didn’t just do it like the govt wld like us to believe.

You talk of records of deposits, according to the petition he deposited $10k twice in 2011, please tell me, how much was dollar to Naira in 2011 & he says it’s from his reserve, are you saying he cldnt have had a million+ Naira then? Don’t just whip out a calculator in 2019, look at the time frame we talking about here.

And please there’s no 1 billion anywhere. Let them furnish us with his bank statement since there are so sure he has billions. All they have are transactions of investments of more than a 10 yr period and they’ve not mentioned the actual balance.

There’s nothing to hide here.

He was currupt cos you adjudged him so; right!

Please don’t twist the facts, his response not verbatim but implied I forgot the dates the accounts where opened & thot that my earlier forms from 05-09 covered them, on my being sworn in as CJN I realized my error while declaring my assets and filled out an additional form covering the period omitted, declaring this very accounts that’s brought all the uproar: this was in 2016.

And in all honesty you can say that this isn’t political. An account that’s being in the public domain since 2011 nothing hidden, no transaction hidden, BVN clearly stated ....please!!!.

He should have no doubt but I feel he knows that some element are hell bent on making him a scape goat hence the fight he is trying to put up!

Now look at the norm in filing and filling the CCT form...I just got the info from a lawyer who understands how this works...when the CCT people confronts a public officer to let him know that there is a missing asset to be declared, they usually bring another form for that public officer to fill the correct thing..but in the case of CjN ononghen, politics crept in ...some persons wants to remove him by all means....CCT documents are usually confidential.. So the question is who released such sensitive document to those who wrote the petition against him? Considering a recent refusal for Punch newspaper to investigate the CCT forms for Amaechi, kyari and co...which negates the tenets of the Freedom of information act...so the question is still who gave those petitioners the right of way to have Onoghen's form?

And the CJN from his honest response never knew it will go beyond the normal norm of getting a fresh form where he will fill the correct information hence he told them he forgot...

The removal of the CJN is a political coup in the Judiciary! And I guess that is why he is fighting it and does not want to resign or step aside....

The norm of refiling the CCT forms when there is an omission did not start today so why did it want to end during Ononghen's time?

Cabals just want to use Ononghen as a scape goat to score a cheap political point in the judiciary so that most cases in the various courts will begin to favour them...

Thank you, you’ve said it all. And to add he filled out the same forms way back 2016 for the period he omitted.

Yet they want us to believe he conveniently forgot because he wants to hide something when in actual truth he had declared these same accounts 3yrs ago all with BVN here in Nigeria

Its really sad that in a desperate attempt to remove the man from the seat, politicians wld spare nothing & wld go to any length to achieve their goal.

First off, there's no $3million anywhere its all hogwash; its $519k and going by today's rate that's 189m+ and this money has been there way back 2011 when the dollar was barely 150 or even less so what are we saying. Next, you might ask how it got up to 519k, hes got investments in treasury bills and over the yrs liquated them plus his savings which hes been able to build up to save for his retirement ; he's been a supreme court justice since 2005, been on the supreme court bench in the Gambia for years, ( im sure most of you don't know that) represented the judiciary for years overseas and all this come with estacodes in dollars, for heavens sake last yr alone he went on trips countless times, don't know how much he got as estacode but know for certain that junior PAs get between 3 to 5k Dolz. The man decided to invest his money overseas and the proceeds are paid into hes account here in Nigeria, he's accounts officer is alive let them go check. Except its a crime to buy shares anywhere in the world then i don't know what crime hes committed cos he never hid it & he wldnt be so stupid to put money in he’s account he can’t defend.

Granted he did forget to declare the account in 2011 cos he believed the accounts were opened earlier and that his 2005-2009 asset declaration form captured it, realizing this when next he had to declare in 2016 he filled out two forms covering the period he omitted and then 2016-2020 covering the period till he retired , he's never hidden anything, going by CCB act, no crime there as he did admit to having missed a period and put it in writing since 2016, so you have to ask whats the issue here abinitio.

Then there's the pounds and euro account, 50k+ pounds and 40k euro, all his savings and that's how he prefers to save his money as they hold more value, so when he gets his emoluments he coverts and saves and hes been doing that for years, going by today's rate the total isn't even up to 50mil.and he didn't just start today, this has been there from way back. Then some millions not even up to 10m yet pple are ready to crucify him.

Heard also he hasn't spent from his salary in 18months, for Gods sake this isn't even an issue, what does he need to spend his salary on, he dsnt pay fees, dsnt feed himself, hes got a farm and he does eat from there and also the judiciary provides budget for the CJNs house that let me tell you he's the first to have lived there after a while, the past 4 or so CJN never stayed but Julius Berger had yearly facility management contracts, dead frogs had to be removed from the pool, ill leave the rest to your imagination what's been going on, he doesn't fuel his car, he uses official vehicles what exactly should he be spending on? please, let's be objective. Im sure even the president dsnt spend his salary on anything cos of his position.

Read he's got 55 houses, this is all a lie, but what i know there's 1 in maitama bought from the govt, it's in his forms even Tanko got the one in Garki, the one i know in Calabar is so old and he stays there when he visits but his kids refuse to stay its that bad, they grew up there and its what they still have, ill leave it there.

please i dont speak for him cos im not his mouthpiece but it's been difficult reading the lies peddled around, had to register just to say what i know.

This is all politics, the aim was to oust him before elections by tarnishing his image. They know they don’t have a case.

Almost everyone on social media voiced former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun into resigning. Some even asked that the President remove her to prove that he's truly fighting corruption. When the brilliant woman saw that she truly erred by submitting a fake NYSC Exemption certificate, she did the honourable thing. She tendered her resignation letter and left. She RESIGNED!
By that time, those of you ethnic jingoists didn't see Kemi as a Southerner. You screamed at her, cyber bullied her and even hurled abuses at her. Now it is the turn of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, who admitted himself that he 'forgot' to declare his domiciliary accounts which was loaded with £23,409, €49,971 and $391,401, including 55 houses undeclared, and by so doing, he breached the Code of Conduct as a Public officer and was suppose to have resigned straightaway if he had any modicum of honour, integrity and shame as the custodian of the Nigerian Law, but he didn't. Instead, he was doing everything to stall his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. All those times, you didn't call for his resignation the same way you did with Kemi, you didn't bully him to resign the way you bullied Kemi, you were instead urging him to stay on, you were drumming support for him and some of you that were deceiving yourselves with your forming neutrality didn't say anything all this while too, you deliberately turned dumb. When it was first revealed a fortnight ago that the Chief Justice of Nigeria didn't declare his domiciliary accounts with dollars starched in it, all you were vituperating was that the President wanted to remove him because he's a southerner. You acted dumb on the offence he committed. Now that the CJN has been suspended, those of you fake neutralists are now crying foul. You're screaming that democracy is in danger. Can y'all see how nonsensically hypocritical you are? Your hypocrisy is legendary. Your hypocrisy stinks. You shouted and bullied Kemi Adeosun into resignation but aiding Onnoghen who can't explain how he got the foreign currencies starched in his domiciliary accounts which he didn't declare plus 55 houses. A whooping 55 houses.
Instead of the CJN to resign honourably and go clear himself, he was busy running from pillar to post buying injunctions to stop the case against him. Just a couple of days ago, another $630,000 and $800,000 was discovered in his separate domiciliary accounts again. Y'all pretended you didn't see the news, abi? Sensing that he could be suspended by the NJC, the CJN quickly suspend their meeting indefinitely. Why? So that he can stay on. You can imagine!
You asked Kemi to resign but Onnoghen who was selling justice for dollars and deliberately didn't declare those dollars in his domiciliary accounts including 55 houses should stay on, and he should be left alone.
Arrant nonsense.

PDP ARE SUPPORTER OF CORRUPTION

All you’ve written are what they want you to believe so they wld crucify him to achieve the goal of replacing him.

First of all, there is no $800k or $630k is all BS. But the 3 dorm accounts granted he forgot to declare it in 2011 as thats when the accounts where opened but from what he said he thot they were opened before then and his 2009 forms captured it. Fast forward 2016 he took two forms declared the period omitted and declared a Peroid covering 2016 to 2020, to retirement including these very same accounts, yet everyone seems to be forgetting that he did DECLARE IT as far as 2016 but for their convenience they don’t mention it.

The CCB act provides that you if you omit something and you provide written admission the case shall not be referred to the CCT, hope you are aware of that.

We are so quick to grab a calculator and start coverting how much money is in the account forgetting that we talking of a peroid of 2011. Dollar was less than 130 or so all of a sudden we are quick to judge. How can a civil servant get that kind of money in 2019? He’s bankers are alive, I’m sure they are questioning them. It’s investments but proceeds are paid in the dorm account. Not everyone is foolish some pple plan for their retirement. He’s not stupid to have money in his account that can’t be explained

55 houses you say discovered, absolute hogwash! I’m not even going to respond. Until they prove that he owns such.

The postponement of the NJC meeting was so the judiciary cld attend armed forces Remembrance Day, 15th January, it was rescheduled not postponed indefinitely. That story is not true. Moreso theres no petition before the NJC to consider. They shld follow the proper process.

And as events have played out, both Suspended CJN and Acting CJN wld recuse themselves when the matter is finally before the NJC because Tanko has become a party and a beneficiary, so for fair hearing that’s what wld happen.

If they had taken the petition to the NJC from beginning he wld presided over the matter but in their haste they’ve complicated things.

The postponement was so the judiciary cld attend the armed forces Remembrance Day, pple have suddenly forgotten that the NJC meeting was scheduled for that day, 15th January. if he had not attended that one same pple wld crucify him. And the NJC meeting had to be rescheduled it’s not just something you just call when the members all have their own jobs they do. So what’s the hue and cry here. It wasn’t postponed INDEFINITELY! It wld hold and more so there was no petition against the CJN on their agenda. The petitioners didn’t send it to them, so there’s nothing for them to consider rather they sent it to the CCB. Let’s be objective, please.
