I know for certain it is wrong for u to pay for a meter if it wasnt placed specifically in ur care. If it was in public domain then he should have thot about that before he place it there. As for the stuffs u fix. U should have had a kind of written agreement of everything and even pictures before u moved in, most people have camera phone but dont know what to do wit it. This where a camera phone could have been put to use. Dont let him intimidate u.

@sam milla
Comparing Naija to tax paying countries in the EU or US is the most foolish thing anyone can do.
Why?,

*We have oil, why aint our refineries working?
*Why dont we have electricity?, for the welders, electricians and barbers to do their jobs?
*why aint our roads motorable. Buying a car is now a cash trap, has anyone ever calculated how much he or she spends on spare parts or car repair in a year!
And yet some dumb ass is saying, we like complaining. Even Liberians wont tolerate what we are tolerating as a people.
Travel / Re: Should Nigerians Abroad Be Encouraged To Return Home ? by Thadude(m): 12:32am On Jan 28, 2009
Without security and electricity returning to Nigeria will be wishful thinking.
Who doesnt like freedom, peace, tranquility, dignity in labour, rest of mind, no fear of human turning to goat at ur backyard, i beg naija na history, make we forget am!, i only remember Nigeria in my dreams and once or twice in a day hold a moment of silence for it.
If i wanna feel naija i come to Nairaland and feel Naija, that is enough for me.
Business / Re: How Can We Salvage Our Currency? by Thadude(m): 12:22am On Jan 28, 2009
@ Seun
True as wht u said may sound, it is a text book solution not an on-the-ground working solution in Naija.
no amount of inflight can defeat the outbound flight of the dollars. what are we to export apart from oil?, is it guguru and epa?
Forget Obasanjo cassava theory oh!, even Obasanjo have ignored the project he intiated. If the govt was serious on export, they should have formed a body that would purchase exportable goods from local farmers for onward exportation. Not telling baba-kabiru who didnt read and write or bearly has N9,500 naira in his account to go and export cassave cos he is a farmer, and how do u expect him to source for buy online when if he see the computer the only thing that comes to his mind is
"ah oyibo sha, aje ni won". In Saudi, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman the govt buy farm produce from farmers and re-distribute it for sale. That way a farmer knows that after his hard work on the farm, there will be no sweating to sell.

@sammyafrik,
U're funny, first of all, i m amazed by the number of times u mentioned guinean and 9ja passports. Hong Kong is fucking expensive u dont wanna try that place take my advice no matter the free visa level available. Tho! beautiful and full of life. There isnt any way to live cheap in hong kong, ur money flies out of ur pocket like u're being robbed my an invincible thief. You would know from d airport cos' every govt bill is passed on to d consumer. there are sights to behold tho!, one of which is the hong kong tunnel, which is a tunnel completely under sea and the only link to the city from d airport cos the airport itself is on sea.
It will be foolish of any body to solicit for Guinean passports especially for the purpose of going to Hong Kong in this age and time. Guinea is a french country, while Nigeria is english, think!
Hong Kong immigration dont Joke when they see a black man that is holding a visa free passport, be ready to sign that signature multiple times, say the country's national athem and answer history questions with relation to guinea.
So!, what u dont know about dont come fronting based on visa search information or greed to make money. Their immigration is well equipt to handle immigration fraud besides they have officers who speak french!, also did u tell them the consequences of using a fraudulent passport?, well i'll leave that for the user to find out. With this age one doesnt require to use any other passport rather than that of his country. "No be by force or desperation to travel", If only the desperate onces would always remember that.

Business / Re: How Can We Salvage Our Currency? by Thadude(m): 8:18pm On Jan 27, 2009
While i give u kudos for ur concern on monetary issues in Nigeria. I see it as wishful thinking. The economic handlers or call them financial govt, are the once that can impact it negatively or positively. What i believe we can do is take advantage of it in production areas and produce goods and services within the price range of N5-N20. This would mean the goods would be affordable to everyone. Our small dollar cant impact the currency market as much as the bigger dollars (oil dollar) which is d mainstay of the economy.
Havent said this what we can basically do is to elect a govt come 2011 not base on ethnicity, religion or location but a govt that can break corruption, reduce the big govt to small govt and put the peoples agenda's ahead of the big kabal.
Also a strong message of disappointment should be sent to the national assembly members by out voting all of them completely, they are suppose to keep the executive in check and not dance to the executive. Lets learn from USA and Obama's election and kickout the so called rotational presidency. I'm from the Niger-delta, i dont give a damn if we ever produce the president, i want a man that can best do the job according to the wishes of the people. Rotational presidency will only set us back, because it will be based on my turn and ur turn not performance.

What should she call u for?, have u been able to help urself in dakar?, how many yrs have u spent in Senegal looking for an opportunity to cross to the canary island? or maybe u wanna take her to morocco as a sex slave. hope u are aware she is pregnant heartless scammer. No wonder u wrote only ur phone number hoping ur location would take cover. If ur intentions are good why not help the numerous Naija girls and guys tht are already stranded in dakar.
The only reason she will call u is if her post was a bogus lie to gain attention in the first place. Cos if she is wondering what awaits her in senegal, i just kilt it. Better have ur man kill u in Nigeria than go to a country where u will be forced into sex trade and then d trade agent uses the money to help himself to wit a small boat to canary islands, that is if the boat isnt swallowed by the ocean as a result of his sins.

Good convo, @J4real thanks for ur contribution, now we know there some good sensible nairalanders.
Who will say it as it is without interest or bias and not telling people what they wanna hear.
I agree South Korea gives u a better option to Taiwan in terms of work, school and even language, english is widely spoken in Korea and they can be very friendly. Race wise, u're gonna be widely acceptable. If ur english is polished, it will make things easier for u, cos u will attract attention easily. Work ur way thro' the colleges online and satisfy all requirement you shouldnt have a problem with the embassy if u work closely with the school. Once u've made ur payment and statisfy necessary condition to study, ask the sch to do u a favor and fax same docs to the embassy that will set u apart and give u a standing with the embassy, cos some sch dont do that. They wait for the embassy to call them and confirm ur docs. You might wanna scan for the fax number of the embassy via google and forward it to them when the time is ripe.

Pls dont collect her small survival change ooo. If u re true to ur self instead of meeting her post ur intention here so we can all follow the process and place advise where necessary. This is the kind of situation u dont wanna take advantage of, if u do, u re placing a curse on ur head.

@ chi-nne dont be too desperate to travel oversea, because scammers will work on ur desperation to tell u what u re willing to hear, and dont travel to any african state, rather change location within Nigeria if u can.
Romance / Re: A Life In Danger. by Thadude(m): 1:04am On Jan 27, 2009
Ur request is tall the task ahead is daunting. Right now the best you can do is make a police report and then inform ur parents, they certainly wont kill you as u think, they might be disappointed in u tho! inform ur pastor and ask him to follow u to ur parents. With the backing of ur parents u dont have to run, as he would have known that ur life is now on him. Hopefully some few good people will understand ur plight and oblige u a letter of invitation, but still, that isnt a visa and u know it takes grace for visa to be granted nowadays, with prayers u might scale thro'. secondly, Nigeria is big enough for u to conceal urself.

I hope this will teach other girls a lesson never say it cant happen to u, prepare for the worst and hope for the best, make sure a man marrys u before u take-in cos' as a man, our minds are like market indicators. It can turn down at anytime. especially when a lady appears to be to desperate tht reads alot of negativity to most men, because why hurray if u re certain of urself.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Intrest Free Loans Without Collaterials by Thadude(m): 4:51am On Jan 26, 2009
charity they say begins at home. Service ur community and neighbors first, then those that u have loaned successfully will inform their friends and associates, it is only a fraudulent mind that will leave his community in Enugu and solicit for people in lagos. The fact that u're soliciting spells fraud. How much is your application form?, what is ur CAC registration number?, what is ur website? what is ur office address, lol, this man u re funny, so u want people to apply for a loan to an email address. Chei!,  how much will i pay to become a member of ur club before i can get the loan? This ur loan that has no collateral what if i take the loan and run away?, i guess u wont mind because there is no loan in the first place, advance fee fraud or membership fee fraud abi na application fee fraud i go call am self.

Travel / Re: I Want Canada Visa Me And My Wife by Thadude(m): 10:55pm On Jan 24, 2009
You have just exposed yourself. Know that the kind of embassy visa you are requesting isnt malaysian visa!
If you are cheated upon, you will start making noise. If you are contacted two things will happen either you loose ur passports or you loose ur 700k if you loose ur passports u are lucky if u loose ur 700k na u sabi, that is if u're not given a fake canadian visa. I would have thought you would formally make an appeal to Nigerians in Canada of ur intention and how best you can go about it, or rather request assistance with an invitation letter, with which u can go and apply urself or sign up for a conference and hope u are granted the visa. There is no way canada embassy will give a visa to u or anyone without sighting, so how will the contract ur dishing out be executed successfully? infact u're truly a Nigerian, this is how the Nigerian govt dish out contracts without any bidding, plan, research or quotation. Dont get ur self entangled with desperate 419ers, all these guys want is a contract like what u just dished out, not minding if they can execute or not knowing the money will come out do or die!, so be careful and mindful of ur request.
One of the secrets of getting a visa is not to be too desperate. My advice to u is to cool down, and make some research with google. Then fully make use of nairaland by hearing from Nigerians who live in canada.

Politics / Re: Soludo: Obama’s Energy Policy, Threat To Nigeria by Thadude(m): 3:19pm On Jan 22, 2009
the technology for alternative to oil is already here and its (1) HHO (2) Rechargeable battery. With Obama, the oil monopoly will be broken, because he has already taken the bold steps. Soon oil will be below $10 per barrel. Come to think of it, what have we achieved as a nation with oil, we were better when agriculture was the main stay of the economy, oil came as a curse. Hopefully when oil becomes $10, the killing in the Niger delta will stop, true union of states will begin. Individually we should all go back to farming with the aim of growing crops to feed our selves, if we start that,, we can walk up the ladder to feed our communities, states and country at large. When i was alittle boy tho my dad a banker then and  my mum a successful trader we still had 2 plots of land with which we farmed every 2weeks. In a journey of 45mins drive within lagos. Gush what was my dad thinking then?,
The most ignored way for govt to earn money is through tax, put your citizens to work and let them pay tax. That is one of the key fund raiser for the USA govt. But the govt of Nigeria are so blinded by oil that they ignore that fact that with a population of above 140million tax generation can rival oil income, and there can be no tax if you cant provide jobs for your citizens or create the reasonable environment for them to help themselves.

And whats with our hybrid youths of today?, everyone is scolding the govt they know doesnt exist, instead of them to take simple initiatives that would change the life of the nation, like Obama said, we can start reclaiming our country from the bottom up by reclaiming our communities and reshaping the minds of our youths. Where ever you are plant a food crop even if its peper or tomatoes, if u dont have a land by virtue of your location get a planting pot. Last August i planted pepers and tomatoes with 3 planting pots, because tho fun, i like my peper hot and i hardly get the hot ones in the store, i enjoyed every bit of it, after winter i'm gonna increase my planting. My dad instilled it in me and even tho i live in the USA, i still prefer getting my fingers dirty with the soil.

O'boy easier said than done, where is the money to make ur veto a reality? The CBN gov is even trying his best now. The problem with him is that he devalued the currency late and without any time frame for manufacturers to work with. So the panic is what is determing the current market value no body believes wht the CBN gov says any more.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Are Born Cowards! by Thadude(m): 6:38pm On Jan 20, 2009
Not all Nigerians are cowards. If you say Nigerians are cowards for leavin Nigeria to promising lands, what would you call a group of people who fled europe at a time of an evil uprising to America and made American the greatest country on earth?, were they cowards for refusing to be killed in the uprising and delivering their families to a Land where their unborn could tell their story?, pls we should always talk perspective when we speak. Every man has the right to achieve his/her GOD given potentials when your country refuses to see ur potential, that country becomes the ultimate looser in the face of nations that is the story of NIGERIA. If i can achieve my dreams truthfully, honestly and with hard work in Cotonu why should i give a heck about Nigeria, Nigeria has failed in its responsibilities to its people and can not expect such failed people to reward it.

Thats funny,  because if you have ur geniue documents and your not starched with drugs or illegality, you wont care to know what exist at any airport in the world.
Havent said tht, i dont think the airport would be any different from any in Africa, e.g Nigeria, with numerous black people maning the security post and stamping passports, definitely would be suprise to see a white security personal at the Senegal airport after all its in an Africa country.
