I didn't tell you he contributed to the goal but since he was brought in we begin to play from the back again and retain the ball more and west ham persist with the game plan of pressing us high up and we break their press twice which lead to the goals; if Kova wasn't brought in my brother we can't break their press with jorginho as you saw in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
If jorginho was brought in and did the same today I will equally praise him for that.

I came across this on Twitter few hrs ago. How can Kovacic backpasses be catching up with his forward passes? Is this one of the reasons we don’t play progressive football sometimes? Just A shot on target all season & majority of time he plays AM in 433. Even mctominay plays more central. Once we have a proper DM, Kovacic will be surplus to requirements.

we were in shamble from the begining of the second half till five minutes after Kova was put on; If you are not watching the power cable of your TV you will see that West ham pressed us and didn't allow us to play from the back because of fragility of jorginho and when we send it long they beat Abraham 4/5 in the air making us lose possession of the very often but immediately Kova comes in we return to playing at the back because of his ball retention ability and it makes it possible for us to break their press twice which resulted to the two goals.

Westham were chasing the game & Kovacic was obviously brought in to lockup the game at 1-0. We rely from then henceforth to see out the game & see if we can hit them on the counter.
