Autos / Accept A Used Car Donation by TimBoon: 4:29am On Mar 22, 2013
Hello all,

Used cars can be a great asset to any charity. Depending on the condition and mileage, a used car could become the backbone of a transportation network. It could also bring funds through resale, raffle or through selling the vehicle for parts and scrap if it is not in good running order. Remember to make use of the vehicle right away, as storage issues, maintenance costs and other considerations may have a negative effect on the benefit received from the donation.

Autos / Donate Your Car To A Car Donation Center by TimBoon: 6:40am On Mar 21, 2013
Hello Everyone,

When you donate your car to a car donation center, you are helping people in so many ways. They give away free cars to those in need, and will even repair cars so they can be given to low income families. They sell the automobile at a low price to raise money for the charity. They sell the vehicle at a reduced price to a low income individual who would otherwise be unable to afford his own transportation.

Autos / Donate A Car To A Jewish Charity by TimBoon: 3:24am On Mar 18, 2013
Hello Friends,

Donating your car to a Jewish charity is a fulfillment of the traditional precept of "tzedakah," a Hebrew word meaning "righteousness," and used almost synonymously with the English word "charity." The process is simple and almost all of it can be done online with minimal hassle. Besides the benefit that you will confer on needy Jews, you will also be entitled to a tax deduction as well. Many charities will handle picking up the car and towing it away from your home. Contact a Jewish charity that accepts car donations. Two examples of nationwide organizations are listed in the References section, or you can call your local Jewish Federation to ask for charities closer to home. Provide the charity with the relevant information, such as your address and the car information.

Automobile Donation
Autos / Charities That Accept Automobile Donations by TimBoon: 5:04am On Mar 14, 2013
Hello Everyone,

Selling a used vehicle is not high on most people's list of favorite things to do. One alternative to placing ads or consigning a car is donating it to a charitable organization for a tax deduction. By donating a car or other vehicle to a non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, you can aid that charity by giving it an item the charity can re-sell or sell for spare parts.

Established in 1966, this chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America donates money and equipment to Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers in Lexington and Louisville, Ky., and Indianapolis, Ind. The agency's mission is to improve the quality of life for veterans with spinal cord injuries. The chapter accepts tax-deductible donations of cars, trucks, RVs and other vehicles. According to the Better Business Bureau of Kentucky, at least 80 percent of funds go to helping veterans and other disabled people.

Autos / Obtain A Free Charity Car by TimBoon: 3:53am On Mar 11, 2013
Hi Guys,

There are a number of companies nationwide that invite people to donate their unwanted used cars to charity in exchange for tax deductions. If you are in need of a car, you may be wondering how to go about receiving one of the vehicles that have been donated to charities. Unfortunately, receiving a car from charity is not as simple as it may seem because many of these donated vehicles are auctioned off and the proceeds are awarded to the charity in place of the car. However, with a some investigative work and a proven need, you may be able to get a car from a charity. Research charities that give away cars. There are several in the United States, including Goodwill Industries and Salvation Army. Local charities and church charity organizations are normally a better bet for free cars because they have lower levels of demand and may actually keep a donated car or two around instead of selling it in order to fund a bigger project.

Autos / Salvation Army Auto Donations by TimBoon: 6:37am On Mar 02, 2013
Hello Everyone,

With the Salvation Army auto donation program, you can get a hefty tax write off for a vehicle, and help a worthwhile charity in the process. By donating a used car to the Salvation Army, you receive a large tax deduction. Because the Salvation Army is a nonprofit organization, your donation is completely tax-deductible. The Salvation Army will accept any working vehicles, and sometimes nonworking vehicles as well. The types of vehicles accepted by the Salvation Army auto donation program include cars, trucks, vans, boats on trailers, RVs, trailers and small airplanes. The only stipulation on the vehicles is that you must have clear title to the vehicle. The charity will not accept any vehicles that do not have titles. If you have lost the title, you can get one through your state's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Autos / Car Donation Requirements by TimBoon: 6:17am On Feb 27, 2013
Hello Guys,

Taxpayers can lower their federal income tax obligation by claiming either the standard deduction or by itemizing their deductions. The Internal Revenue Service advises taxpayers to work their federal income tax returns using both methods, and to file their return using the method that provides the lowest federal income tax obligation. Taxpayers who choose to itemize their deductions may deduct cash and property they donated to qualified charitable organizations. Donations of cars are subject to special IRS rules.

Car Talk / Get Rid Of An Old Car by TimBoon: 11:25am On Feb 22, 2013
Hello Friends,

Dealing with an old car can be a bit of a challenge, especially if you're low on funds and don't know the first thing about how to sell something. Thankfully, there are several ways you can get rid of that old car, and they won't cost a dime. So go ahead and clean out the back seat; that old clunker can be gone before you know it. Give it to a friend or family member. If you know someone who needs a vehicle, give your car a new life by donating it to a friend. She'll be grateful for the wheels, and you don't have to deal with the expense of trying to sell it for pennies on the dollar. Make sure she knows the condition of the car, so that she doesn't come back later upset if it breaks down on the side of the road.

Thanks a lot!

Autos / Throw A Charity Car Auction by TimBoon: 7:44am On Feb 18, 2013
Hello Friends,

Auctions of big ticket items such as a car or truck can be a quick way to raise much needed funds for your favorite charity. Whether you auction off one or many, you can throw an inspiring charity event to help raise money and awareness for a cause you are passionate about. Solicit donations of new or used cars from area dealerships. You will need to provide them with your tax-exempt status if that is applicable, and most potential donors will require a statement of purpose informing them of what you intend to do with the money raised.
