Politics / Re: Gov. Okowa’s Secret Plot Against Urhobo And Itsekiri People Exposed by tintom1: 7:17pm On Jun 05, 2015
spirit of lable is working in your blood?
TopCelebritiesM:
Few days into office, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has started plotting against the good people of Urhobo and Itsekiri tribes of the state. Insiders told us that the first blow the new governor gave the Urhobo and Itsekiri people is the Asaba Capital Development Bill which he sent to the Delta State House of Assembly and the lawmakers pass it into law with 24hours.
Our sources told us that the governor is bitter that Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has been used to provide infrastructures for the people of Delta South and Central by other governors and he wants to use the Asaba Capital Development Bill to cater for the Igbo speaking people of the state. Politics / Re: Stop Mudslinging, Let’s Discuss Issues, Apctells PDP by tintom1: 5:15pm On Jan 25, 2015
ayodiya:
The All Progressives Congress has challenged
the PDP to tell Nigerians how it plans to move
from the near zero governance of the past six
years of the Jonathan Administration to good
and purposeful governance, instead of
engaging in perpetual and tiring mudslinging.
”We believe that elections should be about
issues that will be beneficial to the electorate,
not about throwing everything but the kitchen
sink at a particular candidate simply because
of his soaring acceptability.
”Therefore, it is time for the PDP to end the
muckraking and tell Nigerians how it plans to
tackle the worsening insecurity in the land,
the collapsing national currency, with the US
dollar now exchanging for 215 Naira, massive
unemployment, especially among the youth,
decayed infrastructure and the unprecedented
corruption under President Jonathan’s watch,”
the party said in a statement issued in Lagos
on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary,
Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
It said the essence of the sustained campaign
of calumny against Gen. Buhari by the PDP is
to distract the APC from telling Nigerians how
it plans to effect the much-needed change
from zero to purposeful governance, and also
to sweep under the carpet the glaring failures
of the Jonathan Administration.
”In both instances, the PDP has failed, as
Nigerians have refused to be swayed by all the
scandal mongering by the PDP, while the APC
has remained focused in selling its game-
changing manifesto to the citizenry,” APC
said.
The party said the PDP and President
Jonathan should tell Nigerians what
happened to the 20-billion-dollar missing oil
funds, amid concerns that the money could
have vanished into the ruling party’s slush
funds for electioneering campaign.
”Nigerians are also asking: Mr. President,
where are the Chibok girls who were abducted
nine months ago, and whom you promised to
reunite with their families? What happened to
the stage-managed truce with Boko Haram
and why has no one been punished for
deceivi
ng Nigerians? Mr. President, where is
the report of the forensic audit you ordered
into the missing $20b oil funds? It is now two
months since the deadline set by your Finance
Minister for the release of that audit report.
Will the report go the way of others before it?
”Mr. President, you said while campaigning for
the 2011 elections that ‘four years is enough
for anyone to make significant improvement,
and if I can’t improve on power within this
period, it means I cannot do anything’. Why
should Nigerians trust you to deliver on your
promises this time around, now that the power
situation has gone from bad to worse under
your watch?
”Mr. President, instead of creating jobs for the
teeming unemployed youth of Nigeria, your
administration has been fleecing and sending
them to their early graves, as it happened
during the fraudulent Immigration recruitment
exercise in March 2014 when many innocent
youths got death instead of jobs? When will
you move from creating phantom jobs to real
jobs? These are the issues that are bothering
Nigerians and these are the issues they want
answers to, instead of engaging in an
unprecedented personality-focused campaign,”
the party said.
APC said the truth is that the PDP and
President Jonathan do not have any answers
to those serious issues raised above, hence
they have decided to engage in a multi-
pronged approach of mudslinging, campaign
for election postponement and the instigation
of violence to scuttle next month’s general
elections, among others.

Politics / Re: 1985 Newspaper Story Created After Buhari Was Toppled by tintom1: 4:29pm On Jan 23, 2015
tron23:
Now that's an insightful article.
WHY BUHARI CANNOT RULE NIGERIA AGAIN: An update.
# Buari failed to apologize to Nigeria or to the families of those who lost their lives during the 2011 post-election.
# He truncated the Nigeria democracy in December, 31 1983- sacked a democratically elected government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Buhari cited corruption as the reason, but surprisingly, Buhari left Alhaji Shagari in HOUSE ARREST and threw his powerless deputy DR Alex Ekwueme in PRISON out of tribal sentiments. Ekwueme was tried, but found not wanting, while Shagari was not tried.
# He REFUSED to ATTEND the OPUTA PANEL, even though complaints tabled against him involved gross abuses of power and blatant assault on the fundamental human rights of the Nigerian citizenry- Killed Barthlomew Owoh, Bernard Ogedengbe and Lawal Ojuolape with retroactive laws.
# He sent soldiers to ransack the residence of Elder Statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, seized his international passport and offered no reasons for the action.
# Selectively jailed Sam Mbakwe (best performed governor in the history of IMO state) Bisi Onabanjo, Bola Ige, Jim Nwobodo, Aperture Aku (he died as a result of maltreatment in prison), Busari Adelakun (he died in prison) among others who got as high as 144 years jail term. And allowed Awwal Ibrahim, the then Niger State governor, who was arrested in Heathrow Airport in London with 14 million pounds sterling and several millions of Niara and dollars, and Shehu Kangiwa, Sokoto State Governor who conducted and supervised the famous Bakolori Massacre of poor peasant farmers whose land were appropriated without compensation to remain under house arrest.
# Chief Adekunle Ajasin (then Ondo State governor) was tried and re-tried three times before Buhari’s punitive tribunal because of Buhari’s dissatisfaction, but acquitted of all charges of corruption, and still he was not released, but detained indefinitely.
# Alhaji Shehu Shagari granted pardon to Odumegwu Ojukwu, but when Buhari came to power, he clamped Odumegwu Ojukwu into jail without any charge against him.
# He once asked MUSLIMS TO VOTE ONLY MUSLIM in a country with many religions.
# He executed 75% of PTF projects in the NORTH and distributed the remaining 25% among other regions when he was the PTF chairman. # He was the chairman of PTF, but claimed he does NOT KNOW how billions Naira got missing.
# He was a military head of state who knows he would be overthrown, but COULD NOT DO ANYTHING because his deputy was not around.
# He said that ACN is corrupt, but because of his presidential ambition now surrounds himself with those he described as corrupt ACN members.
# He could not allow the economies of demand, supply and internal production factors to determine the prices of commodities but used SOLDIERS TO FORCE price control.
# He did not allow his government to be criticized and UNJUSTLY ARRESTED those who criticized his government. Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor were jailed for ‘writing truth’ about diplomatic posting. Audu Ogbeh, an internal critic and reformer, spent months in unjust incarceration. Kola whole Awotunde was detained for 1 year without trial for writing against government.
# Fela Anikulapo languished in jail for years for being in possession of foreign exchange that he had legitimately received for the immediate upkeep of his band as they set off for an international engagement. But Buhari curiously allowed 53 suite cases to come into Nigeria unchecked.
# Ebenezer Babatope spent the entire tenure of Buhari in detention, because he once warned the media that Buhari was an ambitious soldier. Babatope’s father died while he was in Buhari’s custody, the dictator remained deaf to every plea that he be at least released to attend his father’s funeral, even under guard.
# At PTF Buhari brought in the late Ahmad Salihijo ( his in law) and other boys without informing us. We didn't know that he engaged them as consultants without our knowledge and consent because we are all members- late Group Captain Usman Jibrin ( October, 2009).
# It is a record that Buhari’s military re [truncated by WhatsApp]

I usually don't do this, and I sicerely apologise but I
think it's worthy of giving thoughts to: APC has been consistent in saying that PDP has ruled
Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption,
impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills
of society held sway. But at a very close look at the
APC, I am seeing: 1)Rotimi Amaechi – 8 years

3)George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP.

2 years BPE Chairman under PDP. 11)Tambuwal-3ye
ars as Speaker House of Reps under PDP; and to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man
who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as the
maximum ruler of Nigeria. It is now clear that APC is
a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who
created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years are
now dumped. So where is the change coming from? Are they now saints because they joined APC?

But for this election maybe I would not have read and known certain things that alledgedly happened in this nation.

Of course I read about the $50,000,000 LAGOS RAIL PROJECT said to have been canceled and an alledged $500,000,000 paid as fine instead, but not this.

Could this have really happened in Nigeria?

By Uzor Maxim Uzoatu

“I remember in 1985 in Africa Hall that he
was for confirmation of Dr Peter Onu of
Nigeria, who was acting Secretary General
but Nigeria’s Head of State Gen
Muhammadu Buhary was adamant in his
support of Niger’s candidate, Idi Omaro, a
Fulani Muslim. In a meeting, a handful of
Presidents led by Nyerere met with Gen
Buhary and Nwalimu begged him: ‘Please
give us Peter!’ Buhary refused and forgot
even to be courteous to his old peers. What
was astonishing, when the vote was in
favour of Niger’s candidate, the Nigerian
Head rejoiced to such a degree that he was
unable to control his emotions. That was a
moment I witnessed and was convinced
that General Buhary would not last long as a
leader.” –--- The OAU: Reality Or Fiction by
Ibrahim Daggash, former Head of
Information and Communication,
Organization of African Unity (OAU); pg 69;
ISBN 1-9044722-25-3

It is unheard-of in
history that a self-respecting leader of a
country would vote against his country’s
candidate in international diplomacy. But
here, you have it in black and white, in a
book, that former Head of State General
Muhammadu Buhari would rather have a
Fulani Muslim candidate from Niger instead
of Nigeria’s own esteemed Dr. Peter Onu.
Not even the highly revered then President
of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere could make
Buhari to change his mind.

This kind of
bizarre shamelessness is why Nigeria is the
laughing stock of the civilized world. It is
unthinkable that any leader, anywhere
would insult his own country by backing an
opponent from another country.
