Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

Don't try to be someone else because you can only be second best,
be simple, be real and above all be yourself, that's only when you can be the best,
be yourself because that's what makes you special

You can pray. There can be a revival if we pray.Of course we need to believe it before even praying.Do you believe it?

There's prophecy that some will be saved, can't the Nigerian believer(s) be among that few.Must we all go ahead to fulfill the love of many shall wax cold?We can be among those that repent and endure to the end.We need a prayer for spiritual revival.A prayer that starts from individuals and homes.A heartfelt, heaven rending ought always to pray prayer. With God,all things are possible.

Arggg. . . . . . You know that's why we can't have good things.

Every time Igbo people are involved in something, some stupid ishh goes down. Thats why we can't even have a Nigerian Independence Day Parade anymore down here. Cause they always bring trouble. Now they just cancel the whole thing.

At first I loved this thread. I mean the Yoruba people had their music thread which I loved too because the music was all that. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO can Igbo people have ONE peace thread here. . . . . I think not.

I give up with the ppl on this thread. I'm so glad I don't get on as much.

Onyiye has a point here, this thread started beautifully well, but seems to have deviated of late. Never mind the deviation, its part of the expression.

My first time coming to this thread and I have spent the whole night flipping from the beginning to the end.

To Osisi: GOOD THINKING AND GOOD JOB

To Ezeagu: THANKS

To Oyinye: DON'T GIVE UP

I have pains all over my ribs I developed due to excessive laughter reading through the thread, I am off, let me go and take some panadol!
Religion / Re: The Number one Sign Of A False Church by tnk24: 11:14pm On Mar 17, 2009
Osisi, reading through your post, you made good points no doubt about it. But in my own view, there is no doubt one need to fear God, but your emphasis on fear was too extreme like the type of fear one will have when one sees the lion in an open field and no where to hide.

Definitely, we need to fear God, just as we need to reference Him, obey Him, love Him and ,

This is a Benediction

FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS
HAS SET US FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH
AND SO SIN SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER US
FOR THE SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEATH
DWELLS INSIDE OF US AND QUICKENS OUR MORTAL BODIES
TO THE GLORY OF HIS HOLY NAME, AMEN.

KunleOshob:

Interesting topic, i once wrote an article which also explains the problem with the church we also came to a conclusion that there is nothing that can be done about it. But individual christians should strive to do the will of God and share the truth with others (if they are willing to listen).

Do you really think that nothing can be done about the situation?

Religion / Stop Press! What Changes For The Christian Church? by tnk24: 8:43pm On Mar 16, 2009
It's like almost every topic in every thread in the Religion Section is always about negative reports on Churches, Pastors and Christian doctrine. There is no doubting the fact that some individuals or group of individuals had bastardised the sacred institution 'The Church' through their nefarious activities. We see a lot of people who are not deserving becoming pastors overnight due to unemployment and not due to callings or even proper training. We see some 'pastors' (quote and unquote) taking advantage of the situation in the country to exploit some Nigerians and as a result give bad names to the pastoral title and thereby bringing the Church to the place of disrepute.

If a Committee is set up by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the way forward for Nigerian Churches and how to correct the perceived lapses seen in churches, and you are among the people elected to be on that committee, WHAT WILL BE YOUR SUGGESTIONS TO THE COMMITTEE?
Politics / Re: Delta To Pay Waec Fees For Students by tnk24: 7:59am On Mar 16, 2009
This is no doubt a good program by the Delta State Government. For those that had already left school and the government is now talking about refunding the money they paid, I think the benefit of paying for such pupils had already been defeated. WHY? The actual time the money was desperately needed by some parents, they could not get it and as a result some of their ward/child(ren) could had missed the exams and this is an avenue for some government officials to embezzle govt fund as there is no way that every parent will collect this money and it will be accounted to have been collected by this officials
Politics / Re: Area Boys Sack Contractors From Site, Receive N5,000 Daily For ‘permit’ by tnk24: 7:42am On Mar 16, 2009
The case you mentioned in Oyo State is a very common occurrence in Lagos State. There is no doubt that this so called 'Area Boys' are a complete nuisance to the development of any society. Is it that the State Government can't do anything to remove them from the streets even after the case had been reported to them OR was the State Government not aware of their existence in the first place?

When people in government use them as thugs during election period and to hunt political opponents even after elections, it becomes very difficult to eradicate them from the streets as those in government becomes their benefactor.
Business / Re: Aliko Dangote And Femi Otedola Richest Nigerian Billionaires: Forbes by tnk24: 7:21am On Mar 16, 2009
I saw a similar thread this morning and my opinion remains that the criteria used by Forbes is not in itself a perfect one, as we know too well that there are more than two Nigerians worth over a billion dollar and don't be surprised that Aliko Dangote might not even be the richest man in Nigeria. About two or three years ago, a magazine in Nigeria (City People, I am not too sure now) rated Mike Adenuga richer than Dangote with figures then, even though we know these figures change regularly.

I agree with the views expressed by pheesayo, gozzilla and kunleoshob on this subject and not the ones on religion. We all cannot have the same choice of people on that list

My Nomination?
Dr. Dora Akunyili
Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo (Rtd)
Nwankwo Kanu
David Dafinone
? ? ?
(The fifth will be known when the last five names are made public)

To those who do not agree with my choice sorry, this is my personal choice!

Mind you, the final five will only emerge through a voting process by the public
Politics / Re: Ibadan Residents Panic Over Robbery Attacks by tnk24: 3:02am On Mar 16, 2009
Since the story was published in the media, the Police authorities should now be aware of the situation in that area
and therefore should do something concerning this. The people in that area can also come together and petition the
Police authorities to establish a Police Station there OR alternatively they can come together and form a
vigilante group to combat the situation.
Politics / Re: Should Yar'adua Contest For Another 4 Yrs? by tnk24: 2:37am On Mar 16, 2009
I think it is a bit early to talk about a second term for Yar'adua when he has barely completed two years in office.

But a government that was elected for a four-year term, after almost two years should have been able to
convince Nigerians of its ability to deliver on its 7-Point Agenda.

Talking about second term, if we are to consider this on the basis of his achievement so far, personally he has not
done enough to convince me to vote for him again, but then, two more years is still enough time for him to convince Nigerians
that he can deliver the now famous Democracy Dividend.
Business / Re: Nigeria's 10 Richest Persons As Of 03/13/2009 by tnk24: 2:07am On Mar 16, 2009
Some publication (may be City People, I cannot remember) about three years ago revealed Mike Adenuga (Jr.) to be wealthier than Dangote. It is surprising that both last year and this year Forbes Magazine still publishes Dangote as the richest Nigerian while Adenuga does not even appear on their list. Surely without any doubt, their criteria is lacking ,  It will actually take something special to know the true worth of these super-rich Nigerians as we sure do know that there are more than two Nigerians worth  billions of dollars each. Forbes Magazine is published by humans and therefore cannot be said to be perfect.

Religion / Re: Can Any Nigerian Pastor Reject A 10 Billion Naira Bribe ? by tnk24: 2:49pm On Mar 14, 2009
tpia:

why not. I'm sure there are Nigerian pastors who can reject a $10 billion naira bribe. People just wont hear of it, thats all.

There are plenty of regular people who can also reject bribes. They may not be as visible as the ones who dont reject bribes but it doesnt mean they dont exist.

tpia, I strongly agree with you.

We know that corruption has eaten deep into the system in Nigeria (ofcourse, there is no single country in the world were there is no corruption) but, saying there is no single individual who will reject a =N=10 billion bribe is to say the least a lack of faith in Nigeria and Nigerians
