Politics / Re: Nigerian Troops Prevent Speaker Aminu Tambuwal From Entering The National Assemb by tnktosin(m): 3:08pm On Nov 20, 2014
Gbawe:
Laughable. The PDP, out of sheer 2015 desperation, now acting in an intolerantly despicable and dictatorial manner that will only see even its most staunch allies begin to sympathise with and support APC. When the speaker has not been formally and authoritatively declared to have lost his position, how can he be tear-gassed like a common criminal?

At this time when Nigeria is alarmingly and dangerously divided, these sort of directly incendiary and antagonistic actions from the PDP are not what we need ahead of a general election that is itself going to be 'war'. Politicians have been warned to check their ambition and not plunge the nation in chaos. Certainly some folks are too power-drunk to listen as was the case before the civil war.

Best comment on this topic so far in my opinion. God bless you babyosisi, I just hope OP reasons along these lines else she's lost it. Most people she's seeking validation from here can't even keep a relationship smh.
babyosisi:

Looks to me that you have already made up your mind about what to do and are already doing it and perhaps came here to get affirmations from people that your decision is right. What you forget however is that these people are mostly unmarried.
your own parents and the man you claim to love plus others tell you this is wrong and here you are seeing validation from strangers
You have been married 3 years and living apart 8 months without your husband's consent eh kwa
Let me tell you the bitter truth nne
First of all by definition, you have abandoned your marriage ,now for a total of 8 months and your husband is legally ,morally and biblically allowed to marry a wife to replace you if he so wishes.

No wonder divorce rates are through the roof, the real definition of marriage is lost on you and those who agree with you

When you marry,it ceases to be about you as an individual but you as a plural entity
Did you say there is a child involved? poor child.
somehow your better judgement tells you this child is better off being raised by a single mother away from his father because you prefer to turn the daddy role into a visiting role because you are a doctor ?
Dokinta my foot!
What could be more important than a child being raised under the same roof by his mom and dad and bonding with them.
I don't know who you are listening to
If your own parents and your husband ,the three people on earth that should mean the world to you ,are unable to convince you to do the right thing then,I hope you can live with your decision and the consequences thereof.

There are sacrifices to be made in marriage and you ought to count that cost before getting in.You don't get in then redefine the rules to suit you with total disregard to your marital partner or the well being and nurture of his child.
Please don't come back here crying that the man has stopped answering your calls and refused to come back home
He won't plead with you for too long, pretty soon, when he tires,he will find someone else to keep him company
Winter is approaching cool

If that husband of yours were my younger brother,I would advice him to appeal to you further and if you insist,I will encourage him to come back home or look around and find him another wife after all this is just a 3 year marriage of which he has only been a part of for 2.The family is not even used to you yet.
I can only imagine how furious your mother in law and the family must be with this foolishness of yours.

[size=16pt]My heart goes out to this husband
If this how this marriage is for him first three years in,only God knows what he will face in years to come

Clowns allover the place. I didn't know virginity meant decency, or is it not a 22yr virgin that's always sending nude photos?
That being said, I respect those who have courage to wait but it doesn't guarantee a lasting relationship. I have a friend who got married a virgin at 37: it's one problem or another every other day.

donpeey22: Deliver more under part time appointment? Lol. I don't know the sort of public university you attended. Perhaps it's one of those where lecturers come to class thrice a semester and sales of hand outs and textbooks is the norm. Mine is a great citadel of learning that boasts of having some of the best brains in the country and even from abroad in her employ, and where academic excellence is the culture. Throughout my four years sojourn in the university, I never spent a dime on hand outs from lecturers neither did I have to 'sort' a lecturer to pass any of my exams, yet I graduated as one of the best in my set. My opinion about private universities is based on personal observation and devoid of any iota of bias.
Sounds like a great school. One question, what year did you graduate? If that standard is still maintained then i'd agree with you that yours is indeed an exceptional case.
Education / Re: 6 Reasons You Shouldn’t Attend A Private University by tnktosin(m): 2:51pm On Sep 09, 2014
donpeey22: Aside that the social life among students of Nigerian private univerties is poor, most of them rely on part time lecturers from public universities who render only part time services to them. They don't spend money on hiring full time lecturers. Not only lecturers but even other staff. Go to Madonna university you will be shocked to find out that an ssce holder is the secretary of a department, while MOST departments don't have a single PhD holder.
Fortunately these part time lecturers deliver more in these private universities. What use is a PhD holder or a Prof who appears twice in a semester just to sell handouts? Stop lying to yourself. I attended a public institution like you did (i guess), this is not about repping its about facing facts. My kid sister in a private university has all the freedom in the world and still when it comes to lectures, its real intensive and is worth every penny.

Acidosis: There are some parents who wouldn't send their wards to OAU or UI even if their wards score 399 in JAMB. Not everyone love a rough life amidst cultists, uncultured elements, congestion, stress, struggles, reading with candle sticks, queueing for water, harrasment, intimidation, etc.

In summary, your points are invalid, void and unintelligent.

You got that right man. I wonder why they don't compare their public institutions to others outside this Country. Suffering and smiling Nigerian mentality. They take lectures with over a thousand students in a hall meant for 200 and call it hard work. I attended a Public institution but thanks to my private foundation i was able to make good grades. Nigerians seem to love a situation where you go hunting for past questions, studying all night till they run mad all because they still don't know their lecturers two months into the semester. Now they hate on their private university counterparts who are 'spoon fed' and will ultimately graduate ages before them.
I can only feel sorry for those who still believe Nigerian public schools are better than the private ones just for lack of freedom in a selected few. To think that suffering makes you stronger and better, is real concentrated poverty mentality in display.
I currently pay the fees for my younger sibling in a Nigerian private University and will ensure my kids get the best of education within and outside this country. They would not suffer the same fate as I did in Nigerian public institutions.

deols: How can anyone see the last two points as good. Poverty, struggling and Not getting what you want are now seen as normal.
Smh for peopleblike the op. Poverty and all that goes with it should never be seen as normal
I tire for our countrymen.

ryom: I marvel at these comments. Its either a display of utter naivety or stupendous ignorance. Where do people think the data base of their electronic records are held anyway? Do you have a mobile phone (especially a smartphone), an email address, an ATM card and the like? Do you hold an international passport? Travelled abroad, especially to any of the so called first world country? Drive a car manufactured 2010 and beyond? Then they already have the records. This card favours you by consolidating your information in one place at your point of access; but them? They already have the information if you have done any of the bit I mentioned earlier! Looks like a lot of folks are in deep slumber!! Its too late to want to be anonymous. Like a boss of mine once said, ''its not about being raped (figuratively), its about making the experience as pleasant as possible.''
You changed my opinion on this issue. You're very correct in your analysis, thanks.
