Religion / Re: Oyedepo & Kumuyi Meet At Abuja Stadium To Pray For Nigeria by tomquest: 11:06am On Aug 10, 2016 |
A nation where everyone calls God God yet they don't know Him. Love is the greatest religion. Other progressive nations practice love. That's why their citizens don't steal public funds like we see in Nigeria. That's why they have powerful institutions and fantastic public infrastructures. But in Nigeria, we pray, but don't love. That's why wickedness, corruption, greed, selfishness and materialism prevails... ...we started praying since 1960. What has changed? Our hearts still remain the same- black as charcoal... 2 Likes |

Truth comes in different shades. Pastors receive their blessings from church funds while members of the congregation are told to wait for divine breakthrough... Our mumu neva do? They collect from both the rich and poor to build big schools which the poor amongst them cannot attend freely... They ride multimillion dollar private jets and live in opulence in a third world nation where millions (including their members) are living under a dollar per day... They no longer preach about sin or rapture but prosperity and tithes. The FULL truth about tithes is never preached..." When will our mumurism end? 1 Like |

Very beautiful. But from where did he earn all these billions as a public office holder? The amount spent here for the enjoyment of one family (of less than 10 persons) is enough to build a manufacturing plant that would guarantee employment for 500 persons with their families. Africa is doomed beyond redemption. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

If I was the DPO, I would buy her grandma a chilled bottle of Guiness malt, get her seated in my office and then ask how her business is going. This spoilt girl's unfortunate death mustn't be allowed to stress "mama" for anything more than 10 minutes. |

For the 2 kids somewhere above me kid 1. You don't have to poke your nose into another person's affair. He certainly has a reason for his 200k budget. Kid 2. You don't have to respond to every kid's comment, so as not to bring out the kid in you. You didn't have to tell us what you drive now or what you drove at 25. The truth is that we don't believe you (because this is a faceless social media forum). 7 Likes |

I just keep wondering why Nigerians still patronize Peace Mass Transport Company (PMT) after all the hundreds of young lives they have wasted on our highways over the years. Funny their buses always have "godly" inscriptions to attract religious Nigerians who believe so much in the power of prayers over man's physical lapses and recklessness. Do they not know how many prayer warriors have perished with/in PMT buses? Two things are obviously wrong with PMT: man and machine. But trust my Naija people, as long as the buses have "Prayer is the master key" or "God is behind the wheels" then they wouldn't care whether PMT drivers are doing 160km/hour or even hitting record number of return trips per week, than the competition. It wouldn't matter if they don't even check tires before each trip. Well if you pay less attention to the physics of this world, then join PMT for a quick "heavenly" experience. Whatcha think? Lalasticlala, mynd44, Seun please don't patronize PMT o.

dokyOloye: It's a matter of 1) RELIGIOSITY because 8/10 of religious people would rather pray and believe they are covered with "some powers", than service/check their vehicles, caution over-speeding and reckless drivers. 2) IGNORANCE because 9/10 of Nigerian drivers DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE! I know what it took me to get a drivers license in Canada. But in Nigeria, even a blind man can obtain one. 3) PRIDE because "Big Men" in Nigeria are often above the laws of the road, after all they can literally "payoff" our law enforcement agents. Or intimidate them and other road users. 4) SELFISHNESS because most Nigerian motorists don't care about the other guy behind the wheels or even a pedestrian. Bad roads only contribute 5% to road crashes. (Yes only 5% because no driver would claim that he/she doesn't know that our roads have been bad since 1960). Bad leadership contributes 25%. So 70% of auto crashes are caused by MAN. 1 Like |

adedapodvirus001: My brotherly advice: 1) after doing your SWOT, test/try/practice the business first with your 100k and see how viable it is. 2) DO NOT BORROW EXTRA MONEY to start a new business. Start small and grow gradually. I'm saying this because if you make mistakes (which is normal in a new business) with borrowed cash that probably has interest, then it's a new challenge for you to deal with. I wish you the best in your venture. 3 Likes |

Religiosity, ignorance, pride and selfishness are killing us on our roads. Pictures like these should be put up on giant billboards on every 20km of Nigerian roads. Maybe that's the only thing that can remind road users that they can die too. For how long do we continue saying RIP while the same disasters keep happening on weekly basis? 42 Likes 3 Shares |

Oche211: Think of it this way: if your state runs it's own police and the community where you live operates it's own security personnel (more like vigilante) which is in 24/7 contact and synergy with the state police, don't you think you and your family would be safer than in this present setup with very family owning a gun? |

Crime / Re: Reasons Why Guns Should Be Legalized In Nigeria by tomquest: 6:31am On Aug 07, 2016 |
Truly there's some sense in this but you missed some points: 1) you can legally own a gun in Nigeria but it's quite a process to get the necessary permits. 2) Nigeria has so much poverty and many illiterates. Making guns come easy to them is like advocating for chaos. People would be shot dead over flimsy excuses. 3) Nigeria's judiciary is messed up with corruption and injustice. If I shoot you over a flimsy excuse, you'd likely not get justice if I'm a "Big Man". 4) Residents have no documentation in Nigeria. Before you give easy permits to your citizens, you must account for every one of them. 5) Nigeria needs "Regionalism", where every state would exclusively run her own police in synergy with respective community security outfits. 2 Likes 3 Shares |
