Fashola gives back houses to 16 senior citizens

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday gave houses to 16 senior citizens who first occupied Shogunro Housing Estate before it was demolished in 2009.

Fashola said the 16 beneficiaries would be relocated back to 16 homes in the newly constructed Shogunro Housing Scheme.

The governor disclosed this at the sixth public draw of the Lagos State Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme (LagosHOMS), where 37 new winners won homes in different housing schemes in the state.

He said 16 beneficiaries were those who cooperated with government and willingly gave up their apartment during the regeneration exercise of the estate.

He also said the development further confirmed the commitment of the government that it would keep the promise made to citizens in the state.

“After five successful draws, I want to now announce a new dimension to the Lagos home policy. I want to share with you the regeneration and the compassionate side of the LagosHOMs and the inclusion that seems to carry everybody along.

“This morning, 16 senior citizens have benefited from sixteen homes part of the Lagos homes in the Shogunro scheme in Ogba,” he stated.

Fashola then assured residents that the ongoing regeneration exercise across the state would not leave anyone provided they cooperate with the government.

The governor also explained that the other side of the LagosHOMS regeneration exercise was where 30 families in Adeniji Adele have been relocated to accommodate development of a scheme in that area.

The internet was first introduced in the early 1990s, and usage grew more popular following an internet workshop organized by the Yaba College of Technology in 1995. Internet access expanded when cybercafes sprang up in major cities across Nigeria in 1999, though it was expensive and connections were very slow. The introduction of internet access via mobile phone service in 2004 has spurred further increases in internet use.

The part that really upset me was at the crossing of the red sea, in the Bible God asked Moses to strike the water with his staff and the winds parted the water on either side and they crossed on 'dry' ground. Watch the movie to see how this scene was ill-depicted.

yes, that scene was depicted differently from what people were expecting.
