My point is the possibility of FBHN trading @N1 on the NSE while the entity survives a crises and your money will be intact in your account.

Off course FBHN can't be wiped out unless Nigeria seizes to exist.

Anyways let me stop here! They are already crying that I am predicting doom grin

FBHN at 1 shocked shocked please don’t tell me I will have to go to luth to look for Transcorp.. I don die oo ! Ha!

You have overflogged this issue. Considering most people on here did not ask for your opinion when they wanted to build their portfolio, making it sound like Armageddon has arrived won't help to push your case. Why not let it rest? Moreso, not everyone here is a trader. So, giving a blanket advice of SELL (mostly unsolicited) gives the impression that you might have an agenda. Let everyone stick to their plan. If you're in cash, we are happy for you. If you are in sound coys, we are happy for you.

You can't keep money in the bank if the country goes down. Banks will be wiped off as well grin grin

So where do you keep the money? You want to heap money under MATTRESS?

Nigeria will not learn from this event. Though this event is worst than 2014 to 2016 oil price decline. I must confess.

Dem say weytin you no know no go kill you na true oo..

Sir, this is what is expected to happen but you can not be too sure that everyone adhere to this. One of my senior colleagues once told me about how he discovered that all his bosses were active investors in the NSE through blind trust companies. This was in the 70's.

Lol na today yansh dey back ?

That is the truth, you can do your findings.

With the blind trust managed by the Trustees, you don't trade online, you don't give purchase or sale mandates, you don't get dividends, you don't know the stock bought on your behalf. You only get you yearly performance of your investment at the end of the year and can make withdrawals.

Just as you don't know the stocks you Pension Fund Managers is buying for you in your retirement savings account

Ok this is where the smartness comes in.. you are her friend right ?
Lol even Trump owns shares

Let me be working in NSE and make I hear say I no invest in NSE
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by TraDeRR: 9:21am On Apr 21, 2020
emmanuelewumi:

I think they have to inform their employers, who will inform NSE.

I have a friend who works in NSE, she said they are not allowed to invest on NSE. They can only invest in mutual funds, Treasury Bills, money market funds, bonds, Commercial papers. Their husbands, wives and children can invest in shares.

If they must invest on NSE, they must inform their employer. And the investment will be through a " blind trust", to be managed by a Trustees.

She is either telling you story story or she is not smart..

Passive income is also affected, 6 of my old man's tenants have not paid their rents which should have been paid since January. But on the worst scenario they would have paid since March.

Passive income in form of dividends will also be affected in 2020 and 2021.

The only thing is ti have money than enough cash reserves in money market funds and other near money assets.

I want to believe he’s referring to something like supermarkets or food selling but if it is His hostels or house rentals, then he should get ready for story.. Divorce and lack of house rent payment are the new C-19

Chief, what you are saying here is just theory.

An economy is on lockdown and you are here talking about passive income. Please mention the passive income streams that are lockdown-proof.

While at it, you may do well to note that one man's passive income is another man's main source of earning.

Then and now are not the same.

Then there was no QE. Ben Bernanke started it afterwards. They even introduced the TARP.

All those were to stabilize the market.
