Religion / Re: Is God A Politician? by trinigirl1(f): 10:12pm On Jan 19, 2007
mrpataki,

i like your revelation, it makes sense. but perhaps you should rethink the idea of God being a politician. His sovereignty makes him exempt of political confinements and prejudices grin

Hold up, wait a minute shocked.
Before you all break your arms patting yourselves on the back and require tongue retreads from hailing each other, grin can I just say something please?

Thank you for your kind accomodation! Let me say this;

The God of the Bible, is not a democrat, He is a Sovreign!
Please, feel free to kiss-up and brown nose each other all the day long.
But don't reduce God (my God) to being a vote canvasser.

Nonsense and ingre-dent as uncle Titus would say.

Feel free to feel as sheepish as you please cool!

**Laughing hard**

I agree that the kingdom of heaven is not a democracy. Democracy has no place in the kingdom of God. There are no "votes" or "campaigns". Democracy is a man made concept for earthly government which can only be justified by the introduction of Adamic sin. The Almighty God is supposed to be the sovereign Lord of spiritual heaven AND physical earth.

If that was the case (no separation from God) the government of the earth would have been an image of the goverment in heaven.

However!

There is a government in heaven, and had sin not be introduced to man, there would be a reflecting earthly government.

Since sovereignty denotes supreme power , it means then (in my opinion) that God is sovereign over His government, including the 24 elders, all of whom are subject to and worship Him, our Sovereign Lord.

Revelation 4:4
Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.

However I do find the concocted theory of God being a politician funny grin Quite imaginative, but scripturally unsound.

Any corrections for me TV?

Honestly, i almost always resisted the temptation to ignore you guys. The speed at which you completely overturn a very simple analogy beat my imagination. How can you juxtapose the concept of freewill and ethical codes and arrive at such a conclusion? Islamic conducts are codified and you are free to choosed to either obey them or not, just like we now have a lady called Shahan and her critical siblings. You don't have to be a muslim if you like. Freewill here extend to all humans and Jinns (who you don't seem to know they live on earth with us).

I also don't know what is confusing about worship on earth and Reward in heaven. But let me confirm your speculation about my little background. i was born and bred in the heart of caliphate, Sokoto, moved to Abuja a couple of years back. When i was a kid i noticed that we do all the fastings and daily prayers in the mosque, while our christian neighbours relax with some cool bottle of beers playing scrabble and monopoly. They go to churches on sundays to have fun, singing and dancing. I looked around and saw lot of christian prostitutes called "okoto" all over the town. I now begin to understand the concept of Freewill. That was entirely my childhood perception based on my early experience. When a kid doesnt pray or fast, we say he is becoming a christians who doesnt do any act of worship. I grew up remembering those historical pictures, but then up to my adulthood i havent seen much differences except new grammers and plenty rethorics.

However, last year when my little nieces came from the states for holiday. Their dad is my blood brother but their mum an American. They came to see me in my office and jokingly i told the elderly sister that i think they should talk to their mum about Islam so that she may see the light and not die as a christian and end up in hell. the kid shocked me when she said "uncle why do you think she will accept that because she probably feel the same way about us too". That was the beginning of my quest about what the christians think they are doing. So all these while christians thinks they are also worshipping God. That is exactly what am getting to hear everyday on nairaland. But what exactly is the Act of Worship apart from too much noise and over-enthusiasm?

I think my little niece is right. But the Christians are dead wrong.

This is the exact reason why I try my best not argue religion. It almost always takes all parties involved to the same place where they began, and both sides are even more convinced that the other is wrong and they are right.

Very counterproductive and obstructive.

Hebzi:

why do people tell lies so easily and feel comfortable
without seeing anything wrong with it?I don't think God
is pleased with the frequency with which our lips give birth to lies.

what makes you tell a lie so comfortably?

Hebzi,

was your post meant to sound so accusatory and presumptuous? Because it sounds like you assume that everyone here lies but u don't.

what's your point? u doing a survey or u lookin for self help?
Religion / Re: Pre-Marital Sex Is Not Fornication by trinigirl1(f): 4:30am On Jan 19, 2007
Hebzi:

my dears, pre-marital sex is fornication.
wether we try to justify it or not doesn't
stop it from being what it is-FORNICATION.

most of us struggle with it and are helpless
when it comes to yeilding to our sexual desires
hence we become regular 'slaves'as it creeps from
just happening once to becoming a lifestyle,a
besetting sin.

God is capable of turning around anyones life no matter
how disgusting it might be.most of the time we feel guilty
and heavy, your body may tell you you are an adult,
it was worth it,and all the other lies it usually does.yet
deep in your heart there is a hole you,you feel like a
prisoner and sometimes dirty.all these is to tell you that
all is not well.however some hearts a so seared with the filth
that we find it hard to believe its wrong,

whatever the case,God can set us free.we only need to tell
him that we are in trouble with this sin or habit, he that
covers his sins shall not prosper but if we confess our sins
God is faithful to forgive, go ahead, ask him for grace
to live above fornication and preserve your body and dignity
for the man who will someday marry, honour and treasure you
without defiling you.

you are blessed!

In your eagerness to submit this borderline self righteous post intimating condescension, I assume you did not read my previous submissions qualifying how pre-marital sex in some instances is in fact fornication.

However, this repetitive bore of an opinion no longer surprises me.
