Simplestone:
Please my fellow Nairalanders,Am very depressed,I have a man who I have known for 8years,we were friends and started dating 4years ago, although the relationship was a distance one, cause I school in Ogun state, while He reside in delta state,He practically does everything for me including paying my school fees,He is a very caring man,we have agreed to get married this year 2016,Although I don't love him,but I never wanted to be an ingrate to him,and I believe since we are friends that the love will eventually come.
Last year June I had a dream, and I saw a woman and a child crying in front of him, while He kept on pushing them away,I was worried so I asked him if there is any secret He is hiding from me,that I already know, but I wanted to hear from Him,that was when He told me that He got a woman pregnant by mistake in 2013 ,that He does not love the girl, and He has even refuse to see her since she gave birth.
I was depressed and I felt betrayed I stopped picking his calls for Two weeks, and the next thing He did was to rush down to my elder sister and told her everything we have shared in the relationship, and even threatened to deal with me if I don't marry Him,He boasted about all He has done for me,including paying my school fees and all that.

I am truly confused,I need serious advise, please no insults. Thanks.

To me you are talking trash, I decide to take my pack if I like it doesn't mean I am uncultured. I can pack it nicely in my bag and can leave it behind, its my money dude.
Nigerians and inferiority complex.
Antoinne:

No, you didn't really pay for it. At some point, Aero never used to serve food on airplanes and people still flew. This food is complimentary and not paid for.

Why not 'munch' it in the plane? Are you not 'settled in' in the plane? Or you feel people are watching you?

Cultured people don't take food out of airplane. Don't get influenced by the habit of taking food away from a party. It simply doesn't speak well of you. If anything, it suggests that you are too hungry and can't afford a meal whenever you want one.

Crime / Shocking Pics: Fetus Soup Served! by truetalknow: 10:29pm On May 23, 2015
Baby Eating in ChinaMy name is Ling Hong, from Canton, China. I want all Christians to become aware of this horrible practice in China, so that we can all pray that the Lord will put an end to it! I thank this website for allowing me to post this page. It was not easy to convince them to do this.Very disturbing pictures are now spreading across the internet about a certain delicacy which could be found in China. Certain towns in China are now on trend making baby herbal soup to increase health and sexual performance/stamina. The cost of the fetus soup in China currency is approximately $ 40.00US.  A factory manager was interviewed and he testified that it is effective because he have tried it and is a frequent customer. It is a delicacy whereby expensive herbs are added to boil the baby with chicken meat for 8 hours boiling/steaming."Spare rib soup" local code for fetus soup is being served to local restaurants in Canton. Couple who would like to abort their babies, could just go to these local restaurants and sell the aborted baby. These local restaurants also accepts placentas for several hundreds if couples do not want to sell their babies. It is very disturbing to mention that most fetus served in these local restaurants are female babies. This is due to the fact that majority of Chinese prefers to have male babies and those poorer families usually end up selling their female babies.

Crime / Shocking Pics: Man With, Woman Breast, Butts, And A Pennis! by truetalknow: 10:18pm On May 21, 2015
This has got to be one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen. It’s supposedly a scene from Madina in Ghana. So this person who looks like a man (abi?), has female breast, female butt and a p*nis. And expectedly, they are calling him/her a witch/wizard.According to the story (which I can’t verify), he/she was flying (as an animal) very early in the morning around 5am but became weak and decided to rest. (this is what Ghanaians are saying). Then  fell into a deep sleep only to wake up later naked & surrounded by people who had called the police. So I heard o!

He/she is currently in the custody of Medina police. Is there any other explanation for this, other than he’s a witch/wizard? A hermaphrodite, maybe?

WHAT CAN HE/SHE BE? If you know please tell us abeg.

Health / You Can Get Infections On Planes, Precautions. by truetalknow: 9:34pm On May 21, 2015
Every single time I board a plane for a long-haul flight, I know I will catch a cold on board. It happens pretty much without fail. And no amount of Vitamin C, echinacea, or hand sanitizer seems to do the trick.

In some cases, the runny nose, headache, and sore throat start before I have even disembarked at my destination.

Now I know why.

New research carried out by the experts at Aquaint sanitizer, has uncovered some disturbing truths about air travel that may make you run as fast as you can from your next flight.

“Sickness and ill health can put a damper or even ruin well-deserved holidays abroad that have been planned for months or even years,” explained Bola Lafe, founder of Aquaint. “Airplanes, airports, cruise ships, and hotels can all be breeding grounds for bacteria.“

The source of much of the bacteria is our own suitcases.

The study, which looked into how dirty airline travel can be, found that planes are absolutely teeming with bacteria, which can cause a whole host of illnesses. Your luggage can come into contact with up to 80 million bacteria before you even set it down in your hotel room. This is largely to do with the number of people and places it comes into contact with on its journey — an average of two baggage handlers, a member of the airline crew, two cabdrivers, etc. The hands of each person could carry approximately 10 million bacteria at any one time.

You get the picture.

To put this into context further, the average public surface houses around 33,000 bacteria. Anything that gets passed from person to person regularly is swarming with microscopic nastiness.

The Today show carried out a similar study, which discovered bacteria responsible for causing the common cold, influenza, E. coli, listeria, and even the deadly MRSA, have all been located in airports and on planes.

Another thing that gets passed around and is guaranteed to be covered in germs is money. That foreign currency you purchased for your trip? Unless it just left the mint in a plastic bag, it is covered in foreign bacteria. Literally, foreign.

A study by New York University found that paper money can harbor hundreds of different kinds of bacteria. In some cases, up to 3,000 on a single note. “It was quite amazing to us,” Jane Carlton, the director of genome sequencing at NYU, said in the report. “We actually found that microbes grow on money.”

With over 180 legal currencies in the world, paper money is one of the most frequently passed items, making it a huge source of potential contagion.

By far the worst, and grossest, discovery made in the Aquaint research concerned the causes for the bacteria found onboard planes.

“Cleaners don’t have time to thoroughly clean the planes between journeys, as they are constantly under pressure to provide a quick turnaround,” explained an anonymous member of a cabin crew who was interviewed as part of the study.

“I have seen passengers change their baby’s nappy [diaper] on the tray table, cut their fingernails onboard, and even urinate in the seats. The carpets are filthy, and the toilet floors are the worst.”

Just thinking about it makes me feel unwell.

They continued: “I would always encourage passengers to sanitize their tray tables and other surfaces before takeoff, use a sanitizing spray on their hands after using the loo [toilet], and never walk barefoot around the cabin.”

So aside from arming yourself with a year’s supply of Lysol, what else can you do to minimize the transfer of bacteria and lower your risk of picking up some unmentionable illness while onboard?
Stay hydrated. According to the Mayo Clinic, dehydration causes dry mouth, skin, eyes and mucous membranes. This can make you much more susceptible to infection. Use of a nasal spray will also keep the membranes in your nose and throat properly lubricated, acting as a barrier to bacteria.

Sanitize everything. Wash your hands regularly throughout the flight, and use hand sanitizer. Wipe down your tray table, arm rests, and seatbelt buckle.

Bring your own blanket/pillow. Airplane blankets and pillows are regularly reused several times between washes, so are likely to have come into contact with several people (and their bacteria) before they get to you.

Don’t walk around barefoot. As previously noted by the Aquaint study’s anonymous flight attendant, the carpets and bathroom floors are completely filthy, and therefore swimming with germs. You do not want them on the bottom of your feet.
Health / I Shot At The Two Scary Faces, I Killed my Friend! by truetalknow: 10:52am On May 20, 2015

Health / Nigerian Restaurant Shut Down For Serving Human flesh by truetalknow: 1:40pm On May 16, 2015
Sad and horrifying and gross and true.A hotel restaurant in Anambra, Nigeria has been shuttered by authorities for serving human flesh. According to the BBC, suspicious residents told police of rumors that the restaurant was cooking human meat for customers. Police then raided the restaurant, where they discovered fresh human heads that were still bleeding. The blood was in the process of being drained into a plastic bag.In addition to the illegal meat, authorities discovered automatic weapons, grenades, and cell phones. Ten people were arrested in conjunction with the crimes. One resident said, "Every time I went to the market, I observed strange activities going on in the hotel. People who were never cleanly dressed and who looked a bit strange made their way in and out of the hotel, making me very suspicious of their activities. I am not surprised at the shocking revelation."A priest who ate at the restaurant was alarmed when presented with a bill of 700 Naira, or roughly $3.50 (Tens of millions of people in Nigeria subsist on less than $1 a day). "The attendant noticed my reaction and told me it was the small piece of meat I had eaten that made the bill scale that high," he said. "I did not know I had been served with human meat, and that it was that expensive."Last year, Australian chef Marcus Volke murdered and cooked his girlfriend before killing himself. In Brazil, also last year, a man and two women were arrested for murdering potential nanny candidates and then cooking their flesh into empanadas.

Politics / South African President, Zuma Support Killings Of Immigrants. by truetalknow: 11:59am On Apr 28, 2015
Durban, South Africa - The recent xenophobic violence in South Africa against migrant workers has sparked a new diplomatic rift with Nigeria, with the South African government condemning Nigeria's decision to withdraw its envoys from Pretoria. On Sunday, the South African government released a statement calling Nigeria's move "an unfortunate and regrettable step" and said the government and a wide range of civic organisations had been "decisive and unequivocal" in condemning the attacks on foreign nationals in the country. The statement by South Africa's Department of International Cooperation, however, goes on to deride the Nigerian government over its inability to rein in the Boko Haram insurgency in the north of its country. It also points out that South Africa did not blame the Nigerian government for mishandling the aftermath of the collapse of a church building in 2014, which left 84 South Africans dead.Nigeria's acting high commissioner in South Africa, Ambassador Martin Cobham, and the consul-general, Ambassador Uche Ajulu-Okeke were called home on Saturday to brief the Nigerian parliament about the welfare of Nigerian citizens in South Africa following the anti-immigrant violence in Durban and Johannesburg.Tolu Ogunlesi, West Africa editor of the Africa Report magazine, criticised the tenor of the South African government's statement.Ogunlesi said it was not logical to compare the Nigerian Church disaster in 2014 to the xenophobic attacks and referring to the church disaster was misplaced in a diplomatic context. The Nigerian government has been criticised for mishandling the response to the collapse, with bodies repatriated some nine months after the incident."The statement sounded like the thoughts of someone, rather than a diplomatic response," he said. Many South Africans however, including prominent South African analyst, Eusebius McKaiser, have described South Africa's response as justified.“This response from South Africa - via Clayson Monyela [deputy director-general of the Department of International Relations and Co-Operation] - is fully justified in my view," McKaiser wrote on Facebook on Sunday night."However it certainly helps neither South Africa nor Nigeria - and definitely not the continent, geopolitically - for diplomatic relations between us to deteriorate," he added.Nigeria 'opportunistic'While some have described Nigeria's decision to recall its envoy as "opportunistic", others say the action has only come after public pressure. "The government did not say anything even in the face of protests almost on a daily basis especially in Abuja and Lagos," Deji Badmus, a freelance journalist based in Lagos, said.Badmus told Al Jazeera that the government decided to act following the decision of the parliament and a meeting of the Nigerian senate."I don't think it would have been proper for the Nigerian government to say nothing, do nothing, when, foreigners, not just Nigerians are being attacked in South Africa," Badmus said.Jackie Cilliers, executive director of the Institute for Security Studies in Pretoria, however feels that Nigeria's diplomatic withdrawal is not indicative of a continent-wide indictment of the South African government's failure to stop anti-immigrant violence."I don't think Nigeria's action is a statement on behalf of the rest of the continent," he said, adding that the "reality is Africa is multi-polar and there is no singular country that can speak for the entire continent".Rift between leadersFew believe Nigeria's decision to recall its envoys speaks for anyone other than themselves.Nigeria and South Africa haven't enjoyed close relations in the past decade, especially under the leadership of presidents Jacob Zuma and Goodluck Jonathan. Analysts see this rift as part of the larger story of worsening relations between the two countries."It has become an all-out contest for influence in Africa between South Africa and Nigeria," Cilliers said.Leaders from Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe have publicly condemned the attacks, with both Malawi and Zimbabwe sending buses to repatriate citizens following the violence.Few doubt however, that the violence has been a blow to South Africa's image."I think African states have reacted quite strongly to the xenophobic violence in South Africa this time," Cilliers said.Zuma's administration has come under much criticism for the violence. But not everyone agrees the South African government's response has been poor. Cilliers, for one, describes the government's response as "admirable".Tolu Ogunlesi said the latest developments between the two countries was only a manifestation of the quality of leadership in both."President Goodluck Jonathan has been a dismal leader and Zuma has also not lived up to his responsibility," he said from Lagos."They both don't inspire confidence within their countries and outside." At least seven people in South Africa have been killed in the attacks against migrants since March 20, when South Africa's Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini spoke out against foreign workers.

Nigeria Will Evacuate Nationals If South Africa Attacks Worsen –
Despite the horrific xenophobic attack ongoing in South Africa, the Nigerian Government has said it will move to evacuate its citizens only if the situation gets worse. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali, on Thursday said so far Nigerians have not been attacked. “With the discussions I have been having with Nigeria’s Head of Mission in Pretoria, no Nigeria n has so far been affected,” Mr. Wali said Thursday in Abuja. ”They informed me that they have called the Nigerian community and addressed them and told them to close their shops, stay home and keep out of trouble and obey the laws of South Africa.“They have also confirmed that the South African authority has moved in to take actions that would forestall any further disturbance in South Africa,” Mr. Wali said. Mr. Wali said it will move to evacuate its citizens if the xenophobic attacks get worse. “If it gets worse it is the duty of our country to make sure our people are brought back, and we are taking that duty serious.”We are not prepared to allow any of our nationals to be subjected to such inhuman treatment. “We are monitoring the situation and will now take action according to the situation that develops,” he said. Xenophobia in South Africa dates back to 1994 and are mainly targeted at citizens of other African Countries. In May 2008 a series of xenophobic attack left 62 people dead. In the current attack, at least five people have been killed and hundreds forced to flee their homes in one of South Africa’s worst outbreaks of xenophobic violence in years.Source:www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/181576-nigeria-will-evacuate-nationals-if-south-africa-attacks-worsen-minister.html

Politics / Woman Stabs Husband To Death Over PDP, APC Presidential Candidates by truetalknow: 7:05pm On Mar 30, 2015
Lagos—Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old pregnant woman who allegedly stabbed her husband to death during a quarrel over who would emerge winner between the Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidates, while voting was on-going , weekend, at Ejigbo area of the state. The sceneThe incident, which threw the densely populated area into disarray, occurred at about 12noon inside the couple’s one room apartment at 81 Military zone junction. There were different accounts on how tragedy struck. A version of the account said the couple had divergent views on their choice of presidential candidates. While the husband was said to have decided to vote for the PDP, his wife, simply called Onyiyechi, reportedly chose to vote for the presidential candidate of the APC. An argument which degenerated into a fight over whose choice would hold sway reportedly ensued between them.In the process, Onyiyechi allegedly stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife in the chest region.Another version said the deceased, whose identity could not be immediately ascertained, told his pregnant wife to take the okro she was grating inside the room, to the veranda which also served as kitchen , an instruction she reportedly disobeyed, following which an argument which led to a fight occurred. when visited the couple’s apartment was under lock . Their neighbours however described the suspect as an amicable person who had never quarreled with anyone since she moved into the building. One of the tenants who spoke on condition of anonymity said that they did not witness how the suspect allegedly stabbed her husband. But he explained that : “ We were all outside waiting to vote when Onyiyechi rushed out, shouting for help. Out of curiosity, we all ran inside, only to discover blood all over the ground, on entering their apartment.”On closer observation, we noticed that the blood was from her husband chest region. We met him on the ground. Before we could rush him to the hospital, he gave up the ghost.Perhaps, he would have survived the attack had Onyiyechi called for help early. From all indication, it was clear that she attempted to manage the situation immediately the incident occurred. It was when she discovered that the situation had overwhelmed her that she raised alarm.”I do not know the name of her husband. We only know that of his wife, who we fondly call Onyiyechi. The irony of this matter is that she is not cantankerous.”She has never beaten a little child, let alone to fight with any neighbor. Again on that day, we saw both of them together. They were seen sitting outside, one hour before the incident occurred. Policemen from Ejigbo later came to remove the corpse to the Isolo morgue”
