Politics / OPINION:Niger Delta Avengers Are Terrorists Too by Ublaize: 12:40pm On May 27, 2016
The perennial attacks on our Nation's oil pipelines since the advent of PMB's administration call for a swift nip in the bud . I am totally in support of the northern governors forum who have opined that militants be treated in the same measure (military offensive) with the Boko Haram sect.

In times like this, critical economic emergencies bedevilling our nation, such measure is seemingly fair(In war nothing is fair after all). No insignificant bunch, group or people should hold the nation to a standstill.

The twilight of yesterday heralded the four big security chiefs to wit, Chief of army staff, defence, navy and air into Rivers state to salvage or rather negotiate with the famed notoriously rising Niger Delta Avengers. What are they avenging? I am constrained to ask? The Niger Delta Avengers are terrorists and should be seen in that light.

What have the past militants or militancy brought their sympathisers? The Tompolos, Asaris et al are all big boys today-bigger than your imagination. This trend of militancy shielded in self-service and wealth accumulation should be annihilated . We thought the amnesty program should have settled this but here we are today back to our spoils. How much negotiations and settlements can we do? More groups will only rise

Can PMB resolve this? I don't think so.......our leaders are the biggest self-serving and wealth looters of our commonwealth.

i didnt get any oral interview or oral invitation. it was an sms. yes, im a lawyer.

what was your oral interview about?

Even sms alone is not very professional. Thought it was fake esp as ive gotten some fake sms inviting me for interviews when i never applied. Thought it was another marketing gimmick. Decided to check Nairaland on the off chance that there might be information revealing it as fraudulent.

Nb: Checking/searching for the number .will send as soon as i find it

The oral interview was just about my experiences. Let me know if you find the number. Anyway, they are a genuine company

Hello. I just got a similar txt msg and no formal invitation or email. Did you attend the interview? Please could you kindly share your experience?

No i didn't. The risk is grave premised on the fact of no formal invitation. Are you a lawyer? Do you still have the number that called you?

NB I didnt say i got a text message, if i did i'd have gone. Did an oral interview over the phone and was given an oral invitation

Jobs/Vacancies / Banex Group Interview (urgent Please) by Ublaize: 7:27pm On May 22, 2016
I was called by the aforementioned company for an interview. An oral interview was done by the HR personnel via phone and i was scheduled for 20th May for a proper interview. I was not sent a formal invitation afterwards or given the venue and time for it. I tried to reach the person that called me but unfortunately i couldnt because i didnt save the number. I ransacked their corporate website to get a staff to speak to and was told the interview will be on 24th May 2016 being in two days time at Banex hotel and suites Maryland by 10:00am. I still havent been given a proper intivation than an oral interview and appointment which was 20th May and the time has lapsed.

Should i go for this now or not? Please i need your input. I reside in PH, the interview is in Lagos, while the job will be in Abuja. I am in a fix as regards this. Urgent please, if i have to travel tomorrow

A court can always issue an order mandamus compelling the police service commission to dismiss an officer who goes against the service rules.

Just as the court can order the Police service conmission to reinstate an officer who was sacked unduly from the force.

The court interpretes the laws...and what matters here is what the police ethic laws says is the punishment for gross misconduct.

This also applies to the powers of the court to dismiss a Student from a university for violating the ethics, codes and conduct if the student disciplinary council fails to act.

However, if the court wants to be mild about it, it can compel the Police Service Commission to set up an investigation panel that will come up on with it's stance before any high court may revisit the findings.

Some judges do not spend quality time in writing judgments...maybe they also don't read hand written materials sha
The court is not a Santa that grants prayers not asked for. U don't expect the court to infer by bringing an order of Mandamus on their behalf

This a very useless report! Kashamu's case is currently before the Federal high court Lagos! He has opportunity to prove his case on why he shldnt be extradicted

Notably, the US formally applied to the right office for this but GEJ protected him. The baboon's days are over.

Shekau's infuence is only circumscribed/limited amongst his fellow Boko members. That's where it stops. Shekau has no influence on the outer world. It's the gravity of his nefarious misdemeanours that makes him seemingly influential. The idi.ot isn't !

They can still be sued being an e commerce firm regardless.

Firstly, they were registered under the Act, CAMA 2004 precisely. It's believed for them to be engaged in such. Also, the object, location et al of the busines are stated in their memorandum of Association. Once these rudiments can be sorted out, u are on cause. Being an e commerce outfit doesn't adorn them with invisibility.

The capacity which a senior judge can act is limited by what or who? Is there anywhere the constitution states that the Acting Judge can not perform swearing-in ceremony?

E be like say you just want to argue. So if Jonathan sacks the CJ of Nigeria tomorrow, Buhari will not be sworn in?

Anyway, Wike will be sworn in. There is no constitution crisis

Swearing in is an 'act' hence the most senior judge can 'act' in the place of the chief judge if the latter is not available.

There will be no constitutional crisis my friend.
swearing in a governor isnt just any ceremony. There's no place in the constitution where it stated a senior judge can swear in a governor. The provisions are clear. The capacity which a senior judge can actt is limited.

the same constitution also says the most senior judge can 'act' in the place of the chief judge if the latter is not available
There's no place it said the senior judge can swear in. Thiis explicitly clear. There's no ambiguity in that section
of the law.

oh okay..you said they do not have a CCA president as well...well in that case..either the most senior judge of the high court or the most senoir judge of the CCA is expressly qualified to swear him in.
Nah, the constitution says only a chief judge or president of the customary court of appeal can and not the most senior judge of the high court/CCA.

The Ejusdem rule or mischief rule won't apply here
