Hello,

I hope you all are doing fine .

I graduated from the University with a Second Class Lower (Bsc Economics), Missed 2.1 by 0.01 point . A partly qualified Accountant who has good knowledge of Taxation , Audit , Financial reporting and Microsoft Office suite. I am still hunting for Job.

I would see a lovely vacancy that I would want to apply for, reading through the requirements, I would realize that the minimum requirement is a 2.1.

I would give my CV to people and they would say "No, We cant help you . You made a 2.2 .

All these denials just because I didnt make a 2.1

Lessons for undergraduates still in school :

-Try as much as possible to graduate with not less than a 2.1
-Graduating with a 2.2 might deny you from getting certain benefits.
- Ignore those that say , "Even first class still dey look for Job, who 2.1 help?"
- Trust in God.

I am sorry brother, it isn't 2.2. The course you read is what I called a problem course, hard to get a job with that even with 2.1, saying from experiences. My advice for you is to continue your accounting exams and become chartered.lots of my friends that had2.2 Accounting barely spent up to a year before getting employed.Lastly, there are so many job openings that requires a minimum of 2.2, so I don't understand your complain of marginalization. change your mindset and improve on your skill, diversify.

Can u listen to urself.
Cultist can kill some1s brother becox dey had issues with a person.

Cultists can shoot som1 mistakenly thinkin its another person based on wrong info.

Cultists can shoot som1 cox he caught them doing somethin and they r thinkin he might bust them one day.

So what are u saying undecided
yeah I still stand on my point. If you don't go around their corner you wouldn't be caught in their drama. Cultists are easy to recognize, they can be lousy and proud in school, even the ones without such attributes, you can know by their movements and the friends they keep. Avoid flexing joints, parties, mindful of the girls you chase, treat people with utmost respect and generally mind your business, you wouldn't encounter and you'll graduate peacefully. That guy was shot in very close range, they know him wella. People are hardly(though possible but minimal) caught in their web because they love to confront their targets to taunt or instill fear before killing them.

Ur thinking is really miopic as the lady said.
so Based on ur logic.......

Anyone shot by cultistist is a member.
Any man walkin with a lady is her husband
Every thick red liquid is blood.
any1 carrying gun is in force.
Any child crying is hungry.

U are really a WISE person ooh undecided
She might be right. When I was schooling I noticed cultists don't harm you if you don't have a connection with them. They might harass and steal from you but not harm or kill. In other words, they don't kill Jews.

Bros you are getting things mixed up though you both made some valid points.
CGPA or any point system is relevant and used for specific entry-level graduate recruitment (common with lots of big companies in the US and beyond) and for graduate program admission (yet there are exceptions in certain institutions). For general job openings beyond the entry-level your academic grade is mostly irrelevant. Some roles will specify that you must have a Bachelor's degree. That is just a requirement, they don't care about your grades. At that point, it's always about your resume (your body of work in terms of professional experience!) and in some fields, your professional certifications. Believe it or not, there are lots of people in Microsoft, Cisco, Google, Facebook etc without stellar university grades. In USA, the unemployment rate for graduates is around 4%. Which means if you pick 25 graduates in USA, 24 of them are employed. That means you can start your career with any company and build your professional resume. The path towards such achievement is the real story, so nobody should be discouraged just because they got a third class in a university. Lots of them end up being very successful after school life - maybe because they mostly have a point to prove as lots of them ended up with not too good grades in the university due to factors beyond academics.
Your grade in the university is just one part of your resume. This is not to encourage sloppiness in school but the fact is that your grade in most cases is not a reflection of your ability in a professional or business environment. It is even worse when your certificate is from Nigerian universities.
You are correct. I wasn't trying to say a person with 3rd class wouldn't be successful, that's ridiculous. I was only trying to make a point about CGPA's also being important in other countries.

Ok, I cnt tell of Australia, but in USA, once the university or the college awarded you the certificate, no firm cares about what you graduated with.telling you this from experience you are talking of your uncles that can lie...this is directly from me and not from any source
Bro, I have been abroad thrice now and I follow global trends. There's always a cut off point for cgpa's which you can easily translate to the first class, third class and all that. I applied for an executive MBA program in Holland and the minimum was a 3.8 of a 5 point system to be accepted. Even Deloitte are recruiting right now in the US and are demanding a minimum of 3.0 cgpa of a 4 point system for eligibility, that should be equivalent to a minimum of 2.1.

Am not saying third class is a good grade but if you believing you have hope of making it in life more than third class graduates, you are kicking your ass by yourself...let me tell you, in the western world, nobody cares with what you graduated with...once you are done with the courses and the university awarded you with the certificate....my brother, you can apply for any job and and compete for anything within your field of interest....the problems with Nigeria is the little jobs available are for millions applicants...you have to wake up from that sleep now.
Lies from the pit of hell. Most of my family school(ed) and live abroad both in the U.S and Australia. They value that thing called CGPA especially if it's from a reputable and very exclusive Institution. Even getting admission to Colleges and loans you must maintain a certain cgpa. They are more open minded, yes, but they value quality results too. I have a cousin who works for Google, he's a fúcking genius, a living computer. Most Tech firms and big companies abroad employ based on both strong educational performance and personality traits. So, you are wrong.

You nailed it. The ambition of most youths in Edo is quite pitiful. Cyber crime is wild spread there and some parent are openly proud and boastful of their ward involved in it as long as they bring in the ill gotten money to to spend on them

Tats over your body is considered hipster even abroad.Though some people get them during their teens or younger years, they end up regretting them. it's irresponsible.

Reason why Nigeria can't go forward. The youths have inferiority complex. Benz started somewhere. In fact all big brands started from somewhere even very small. No one is comparing the two brands, he was only wishing innoson gets as big as that.
