Cybertruck is not for everyone. Tesla's Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen has admitted as much several times. With its unorthodox design and cutting-edge technology, this pickup continues to generate buzz as its expected release date nears. Recent sightings have unveiled intriguing insights and sparked a candid reaction from an Instagram user known as @triggertx.

A Refrigerator on Wheels? A Unique Discovery

While stopping by @petrol_lounge in Austin, Texas, to drop off something, @triggertx was invited to witness what was humorously described as "peak vaporwave." Expecting to see something cool, like a "Vector W8," @triggertx was momentarily perplexed, comparing the Cybertruck to a refrigerator on its side. This unexpected metaphor serves as a fitting reflection of Cybertruck's unapologetically unconventional appearance.

Beyond the initial humorous observation, @triggertx posted more about the Cybertruck, particularly the tire size. Noting the 285/65R20 dimensions, he observed that this translated to about a 35" tire on a 20" rim, with a considerable amount of sidewall. The six lug nuts spotted suggested a vehicle ready to handle robust use.

These discoveries were augmented by the new wheel design recently observed, featuring thicker black spokes and a square shape near the center. The visible tire air nozzle hints at Tesla's patented automatic tire inflation system, further emphasizing the blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.

A Game-Changer with Mixed Reactions

The less-than-polished appearance of the Cybertruck, coupled with these design quirks, has created a portrait of a vehicle that’s been tested hard, yet may still have some aesthetic challenges to overcome - mainly the gigantic wiper.

The Cybertruck's design and features have sparked contrasting opinions, with some praising its innovation and others expressing reservations. Though likely tongue-in-cheek, the comment about the Cybertruck resembling a refrigerator indicates the vehicle's divisive appearance.

As Tesla remains tight-lipped about the exact specs, even as the start of deliveries looms, we are left to glean insights from sightings and speculations.

Tesla's Cybertruck is certainly not for everyone, and its groundbreaking design has inspired both awe and skepticism. The Instagram posts by @triggertx, candidly capturing his surprise and confusion, encapsulate the ongoing dialogue surrounding this futuristic vehicle.
The unique blend of rugged wheels, innovative technology, and an appearance that leaves no one indifferent demonstrates Tesla's commitment to pushing the envelope in automotive design.

Whether it becomes a revered icon or continues to remind some of a household appliance, one thing is clear: the Cybertruck is set to redefine pickups and perhaps even the automotive landscape.

With gas prices soaring and EVs becoming more affordable than ever, it could not be a better time to purchase an electric vehicle. Tesla is leading that charge in terms of performance, technology and affordability.

The Austin, Texas-based automotive company has built a strong product that sells itself and recently became the most popular car worldwide. Tesla currently produces five different models, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, the Model Y, and the Tesla Semi. The Tesla Cybertruck will join the mix later this year, and the new Roadster is expected to begin production next year.

The cost of a Tesla will range from $40,000 to almost $140,000, depending on the model and options. But before we get into the actual upfront and ownership costs, it’s helpful to understand Tesla’s mission: Accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

Tesla’s Mission and Master Plan

On August 2nd, 2006, co-founder and CEO Elon Musk published a blog post outlining Tesla’s master plan. It was simple:

• Build a sports car (Tesla’s first-gen Roadster)

• Use that money to build an affordable car (Model S, and later Model X)

• Use that money to build an even more affordable car (Model 3 and Model Y)

• While doing the above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options (Solar Roof, Solar Panels, Supercharging, Powerwall, Megapacks)

Tesla is now working toward their Master Plan Part 3.

What is The Cheapest Tesla Model?

The price for a Tesla ranges greatly depending on the model and upgrades you add. At the time of this article’s publishing, the Model 3, which comes in at $40,240 (before taxes and incentives) is the most affordable.

In June 2023, Tesla announced that all Model 3 variants in the United States are eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. This was due to the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which expanded certain EVs to receive a federal tax credit of up to $7,500.

In addition to Federal tax incentives, many states offer additional incentives to EV owners.

Model 3

The Tesla Model 3, introduced in 2017, revolutionized the electric vehicle market by making cutting-edge technology and sustainable transportation more accessible to the masses. As Tesla's entry-level sedan, the Model 3 combines sleek design with impressive performance and an exceptional range of up to 333 miles, making it a compelling choice for those who prefer a smaller, nimble vehicle.

With seating for five passengers and a spacious interior, the Model 3 provides comfort without compromising on style. Its minimalist yet futuristic interior features Tesla's signature touchscreen infotainment system and a host of advanced driver-assistance features, including Autopilot. The Model 3's affordability, eco-friendly credentials, and thrilling driving experience propelled it to become one of the best-selling electric cars worldwide, showcasing Tesla's commitment to accelerating the global shift towards sustainable and emission-free transportation.

However, seeing how Chevrolet chose to kill the $40,000 variant of the Silverado EV, Tesla may go on a similar route and ask more money for the Cybertruck than originally planned.

with the American automaker saying that it will go into production later this year, stopping short of offering an actual date.

Pricing was announced at $39,900 for the base RWD variant and $49,900 for the dual-motor AWD trim, but in 2021, Tesla removed all pricing and specifications from its website, so we don’t know what the Cybertruck will actually cost when it goes on sale later this year, possibly in September.

would be one-upped by the rumored 350-mile variant of the Cybertruck. At the same time, there’s also the GMC Hummer EV 3X pickup that recently got a range boost to 381 miles (613 km) for the 2024 model year

If the rumor turns out to be true, it would mean that Tesla’s first-ever pickup will fall short of the 620-mile (998 km) range touted when the Cybertruck made its debut back in 2019. It will also be less than the Chevrolet Silverado EV’s 450-mile (724 km) driving range

The much anticipated Tesla Cybertruck may debut with a battery pack that’s capable of delivering 350 miles (563 kilometers) of range, according to the Twitter user Bearded Tesla who claims he had confidential conversations with three persons in the know.

Tesla flew two Cybertruck prototypes to New Zealand for the winter testing season in the southern hemisphere. The tests take place at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG), a state-of-the-art testing facility on New Zealand's South Island. After arriving in the country last month, the Cybertrucks were spotted earlier this week at the testing facility in Cardrona, together with a dozen other Teslas, including two Project Highland prototypes.

As the Tesla team prepared for testing, security around the facility prevented fans from taking better pictures, let alone videos of the electric trucks. Still, according to the Tesla enthusiast behind the CybertruckNZ Twitter account, there was one camouflaged pickup and one without the camo, but with a "512" number written with blue tape on the side. I don't know the meaning of this number, although this is less important.

The Cybertrucks finally got out to play in the snow on Friday, and the first videos appeared on social media. While the camouflaged prototype was spotted doing traction control and steering tests in the snow, the other was tested inside the ice tunnel. I don't know what was going on under that roof, but the guy behind the wheel (or is it yoke?) of the camouflaged pickup seemed to have the time of his life.

People were intrigued to see the Cybertruck tested that close to the production start. After all, the most critical part of the initial testing was done last winter in Canada. Tesla might use this test session to fine-tune the suspension, traction control, steering, and braking in low-grip situations. The Cybertruck features rear-wheel steering, which needs careful consideration on ice, as it tends to be a lot harder to control due to the extreme yaw movements it generates. This feature was likely not finalized last winter, hence the tests in New Zealand.
Autos / Tesla Changes Free Color Option, Pearl White Gets The Boot For The Model 3 And Y by usj(m): 9:26am On Jul 06, 2023

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nF6RVtUG0g
There are a lot of white Teslas, says Captain Obvious. The free color of white mixed with record-high sales figures has produced a whiteout on many Tesla lots and several highways around North America. The stormtrooper paint job, also known as Pearl White Multi-Coat, will now cost you as the company has made Midnight Silver the free color option for the Model 3 and Model Y in North America.

The History of Tesla's Free Color Options

Tesla's history with color options tells a tale of evolution. Pearl White Multi-Coat has been the default color for the Model 3 since June 2019, taking the baton from Solid Black. The company's choice of free color heavily influences the vehicle's road presence, leading to waves of monochromatic Teslas. This new change to Midnight Silver promises to bring a touch of diversity to Tesla's presence on our streets.

In late 2021, a tweet from a Tesla owner to Elon Musk sparked a conversation around the abundance of white Teslas on the roads. The user suggested a change in the free color option, favoring silver over white. Musk must've taken this to heart, stating that he would discuss it with his team. Fast forward to today, and the team's decision is clear — Midnight Silver now reigns as the no-cost color choice.

Other Available Colors and Their Costs

Despite the change, customers can still opt for the Pearl White Multi-Coat, albeit for an additional fee. Other paid color options include Deep Blue Metallic for $1,000, Solid Black for $1,500, and Red Multi-Coat for a hefty $2,000. The color palette varies in different regions globally, adding to Tesla's distinctive and localized charm.

Model S and Model X Remain Unaffected

Importantly, this change in color options only applies to the Model 3 and Model Y. The Model S and Model X continue to offer Pearl White as the free color choice. Midnight Silver Metallic still comes as a $1,500 upgrade for these models.

A Colorful Future

This modification in Tesla's color offering is a fresh move that signifies the company's willingness to listen to its customers and adapt accordingly. However, there is no news on additional colors. We have seen Midnight Cherry Red and Quicksilver in other jurisdictions and Ultra Red offered for the Model S and Model X. While some may bemoan the additional cost of the previously free Pearl White Multi-Coat, others may rejoice in the change, adding a new hue to the Tesla family on the road.
