Family / Re: As A Grown Up ,how Do You React When You See Your Child Hood Bully Now. by uzoo: 12:59pm On Jul 17, 2013 |
biolabee: Sorry ma... i really feel u You are so right....The effect it has on a child even when they are all grown up is really deadly...like i said may even lead to suicide. As soon as i saw him, i felt my heart pacing and racing faster, my fingers were trembling on the wheel, i was shaking (never felt like that before over something like that) i didn't know what happened to me . I knew it didn't feel normal... i didnt know if it was that fear i had for him as a child that came all over me again.Just couldn't explain it. i spoke to another child hood friend of ours (who went to the same uni with him)abt the whole incident and after listening to what he said about the guy and what later happened to him and his family , that was when i became calm. My God ,now i know why this makes people suicidal. |

Connoisseur: Guess he finally entered the profession that suits him. wow....you're right ,i never really thought it that way. @Cholls Sad. i hope he was a changed person before he died. Yes some times such things can have that sort of effect on the person and either make or mar you. @biolabee will try and see how i can help him...'cos i also learnt he lost his dad and this was after his mom left their dad and the kids and relocated to the US. After reading all your replies,Now i feel really sad for him... |
Family / As A Grown Up ,how Do You React When You See Your Child Hood Bully Now. by uzoo: 9:31pm On Jul 16, 2013 |
As i write to you i am still shivering from the shock i encountered when i saw my child hood bully working as a Security Gate man for a cake shop. not to make fun of him or anything, in fact i think by the time i can gather some courage to speak. i will like to offer him a better career opportunity because i just learnt from someone who studied at LASU with him that he's been on the job for 8 years now. it Was just a fine afternoon and i was driving along the express way and right there he waved his hand to stop my vehicle in order to direct the cars leaving the shop premises, for a minute there ,i thought -it couldn't be him because he was all dressed in the security outfit with the hat and all so it took me a while to recognize him,and when i did . i had to find a way to hide my face with something - my sun glasses, the flap thing on the roof of the car.But it was no use because i figured he'd already seen me.All through the time i drove back home i was in such fear and shock (i had to pull over and calm my self down) which i can not explain. As a child ,in my adolescent/ early teenage years, this guy bullied me so much that both parents (mine and his) in the neighbourhood had to get involved. And that was when he almost killed me ... One time he put some hair relaxer he got from his mom's salon in a cup and pretended it was ice cream and made me take it...you can imagine what happened next.My parents had to do some self medication to get me to throw up. i can not begin to count how many of such incidents like that ,and i think that was why i was in shock when after many years i bumped in to him . i dont know if i should feel sad, bad, or happy for him because it wasn't just me , he bullied everyone ,cursed and fought with everyone and talked ill of other neighbours and their families.Everyone said it was because his family was one of the wealthiest in the neighbourhood and he was just basically taking a pisss. Any ways i had to come here and let off some steam and calm myself down by narrating this and finding out if this feeling is normal. i've read a lot about Bullying to know that its really bad and why it sometimes leads to suicide even after many years. Kids dont forget such things easily ,and as such ,looking at that face can sometimes bring back horrible memories they dont ever want to remember. |

BagLova: i recently switched from 100% coconut oil to Argan Oil,and you're right ,its definitely great, the shine is incredible and the fact that its not runny like most oils. but i still like the pleasant smell from the coconut oils when i seal in my Africa's Best shea butter moisturisers. I guess you cant have the best of both worlds...or can You? its been a little over a month since my last length check,So here http://productsthatactuallydowork..com/p/hair-w.html is a picture of my current length .Just did a review of this great conditioner from Clairol, here http://productsthatactuallydowork..com/ Ladies,if you need to get that soft silky feel for your hair then you should try this conditioner by Clairol If you are looking for a treatment for dry damaged hair and more volume for your hair then try The Joico range , i particularly like the brown one (K-PAK) 'cos its got keratin which is essential for strengthening the hair especially those ends. But for now i think i'll stick with the one from Clairol.

ogugua88: glad he liked the meal... Nice one The Tortillas tasted great , i used the beef stock from the beef i boiled for my egwusi the other day,so the fillings made it really tasty. @Dreamsinbc i was going to post the recipe for the egwusi but i just saw yours now. i do use a different method from yours though. for the ground Egwusi it self i usually mix it with a little bit of water to form a thick rough paste. And then dump them in balls into the boiling pot .That way they get to cook much longer with out burning. for the leaves i prefer to use Bitter leaf that has been thoroughly washed. It gives the soup that bitter yet savoury taste. then i blend the cray fish ( the big ones and the tiny ones) with onions ,red peppers, yellow peppers and the local seasoning made from soy bean (called iru in yoruba, Ogili in Igbo, and dawadawa in hausa ... i think).A lot of people in my house can't stand that stuff 'cos of the smell. But i tell you,it totally works for me,can't do with out it when making soups. I also use Dried fish washed in hot water (the really black ,dried fish, round in shape and lined on a stick) Lastly ...my favorite ,the Cow leg meat. The flavour from the bone marrow is what makes the difference in the stock. |

ogugua88: I had to eat it first. Too tasty. I outdid my mom! Lol. @Ogugua88 lol..... i was going to '' chew your head off'' when i went back to read the post that came with the Oha soup picture. yes ,you're right about the dry Oha leaves ,they dont do it for me at all.... the fresh ones are greener and awww....they make the soup so tasty with some cow leg and yellow pepper. @StellaMeza i made Some Egwusi soup 3days ago , as with every soup in my house,it never sees the light of day. So couldn't take any pictures . will send you the recipe and directions later. This was last night's dinner. BEEF TORTILLAS WITH APPLE PIE,and VANILLA/STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM couldn't get any Tortillas at the near by store, so I made mine , they didnt come out that great, but they did the job.

Food / Re: Which Blender Type Is Durable And Can Grind Beans. by uzoo: 11:58am On Jun 28, 2013 |
Originalsly: No matter what brand blender you buy the results would be the same. Not any and everything blenders were made to blend.Beans are too hard and for that reason people soak them ...to make them soft. If you don't want to then try just a small amount at a time.If not I suggest you buy a coffee grinder which is like a small blender but made to grind/blend bean stuff. If you insist on using a blender then buy a commercial blender which is like heavy duty and can run for longer periods at a time. Cost? I guess like 3 times more than a regular blender. yes , i was going to suggest she gets one of those commercial use blenders but don't think you can find them around that easily. @Pretty4ril i think you should get the coffee grinder, just to avoid any damage blending the beans might do to a new kitchen blender . They are sold at PARK n SHOP , or check CASH N CARRY, or any good electronics store. |
Food / Re: Which Blender Type Is Durable And Can Grind Beans. by uzoo: 11:51am On Jun 28, 2013 |
Yvete: Quick question: What is the right consistency for Moi-moi while blending beans? The consistency should be like that of whipped cream....it shouldn't be watery otherwise your moi moi will become runny. there are different species of brown beans , if you were to shop in the local markets here here in Nigeria , you can tell the difference just by looking closely at them .But the thing is, all brown beans here cook differently(longer or shorter time period) and taste differently too.So when i get there i just tell them i want the one for making moi-moi which is different from the ones you prepare normally. The ones used normally in meals (like rice and beans) brown will make your moi moi run if used, and its not as tasty. For me, i Think The brown beans is better and easier for moi-moi preparation, compared to the black eyed ones . |

SniperInADiaper: What's the point of making food you can't eat then. Make a healthier version of it instead. it was a family breakfast i made for everyone, and the one in the picture is dad's portion. Cooking for this entire house made me add on the pounds, That is why i said ''' very tempting''' my healthier version of breakfast that morning was green tea and a miserable slice of wheat bread....Trust me ...you dont want to see a picture of that ... |
