Education / Re: Why Are Female Generals And Major Generals Not Common In The Nigerian Army? by Valleys(m): 9:56am On Jan 30, 2021
Chelsea350:
Please can someone put me through on the reason why Nigerian female Generals and Major Generals are not common in the Army. Though there are few Notable ones among them such as Major General Aderonke Kale and Major General Abimbola Amasu.

First thing first, how many women entered the military 25 to 30yrs ago. There are prerequisite to being promoted to the rank of general.

As more women enter the military, the chance of them becoming generals becomes bigger. They will not come your street and start dishing out ranks.

I will go through this in the evening, but hope there's a way to undo it?

If you can't be blunt and tell him then, do this.
Back up your data and put your phone on recovery mode. Which means anytime you want to start using the phone, you will have to flash/wipe data completely. This is very risky cos I don't know how your phone will respond to such.
Phones / Re: Please How Can I Stop My Friend From Using My Phone, I Need A Trick by Valleys(m): 12:58pm On Jan 09, 2021
Trust me, you gain more when people "inconvenience" you by using your things. Just tell him not to view your sensitive details or simply clean your phone and let two of you use it. I remember in my 200 level, my guy and I were using my bold 5. I don't know, maybe it's just in my character.
LordviccoDaGuru:
Good afternoon everyone, there's this friend of mine who's phone got damaged beyond repair of recent and since then he has been using my phone. He put his sim inside Torchlight phone. I bin the owner of my phone I now use it as if am borrowing it. What pains me the most is that he uses my data if I don't have data he will insert his sim and what I hate in my life is someone to remove my sim and insert another sim on my phone. We've gone a long way we help each other we are from the same state he senior me. I don't know what to do, even if the phone is on lock he ask me to unlock it. I lock all my important apps he insist I should unlock Facebook for him. He chat and browse. Please is there any third party app I can disable my phone from functioning?

I want a trick to disable my phone from browsing and chatting even if anyone insert his or her sim it will not work unless I undo it my self, please Nairalanders u people should help me. can u imagine I been the owner of my phone I use it less while u uses it more than me. it's Tecno SPARK 3 please help me out, thanks.
In this era of app locks. You can lock your message app, put password on WhatsApp. So that anytime he wants to use it, he will log into his own.
But then, this is where a phone like redmi comes in. I don't know the brand you are using.

Those prices are for China.

Global prices could rise by about 20 or 30k+ due to taxes, import duties, customs etc.

But trust Xiaomi to keep things affordable.

Okay.

It's almost the same price with the mi 10Ts.

Or the price will change by the time it becomes available?

No matter what and how you expose a nigerian politician, once the cabal has chosen that person, there's little to nothing anyone can do. Nigeria is largely an uninformed country. We are at the mercy of these criminals. We can only pray for a lesser evil.

Tinubu can not be as bad as buhari but I would prefer Atiku. No apologies.

Success to all the candidates from here. My younger bro just told me he missed his time and army told him to bounce. Imagine, the young man did not even know his time for exam. Was travelling on the morning of exam. Who does that. Some people are not serious. After all my efforts in getting info from this thread to him. Well, that's the power of the words of our mouth. He angrily said its over between him and army after last year's fiasco. I believe this year is just in fulfilment of what he said.
Once again, be careful how you talk down on something you are looking for.

For some of us singing the patriotic anthem, I wish you all the best. For the fact somebody is being realistic doesn't make the person unpatriotic. In fact there is a misconception about realism and optimism.
They are brothers actually.

When you say you want to change the system, first of all know what you want to change. The Nigerian Army is part of Nigeria and you should know the history of Nigeria first before you even think of changing it. Of course we are all educated to some extent.

This country was built on falsehood from inception. Look at this scenario: President buhari promised and assured us all of restructuring of the system, you can see how he has been able to do so. He may have good intentions but there's always a group that will take charge. It's called the Cabal.

You are in a battle field and something (death) happens to your senior or so, and the authorities deny such death ever happened and no recognition is accorded the officer. My question is, what does it do to your psychology? Is it that of good or bad? Remember commitment to a course is determined by events like this. A country that you know doesn't value human life.

Look at NE deployment, some godfathers shield their peeps from being sent to that zone. Why some overstay there. These are morale killers.

After singing the passion anthem, when reality strikes, the things that propel you is personal ambitions. This is where the condition of the country comes to play. Poor health care, comatose education and the likes. When you remember there's little or no favourable housing policy, and you know that with your Salary you cannot build your own house even as a Major.
Here comes corruption. You see? It's not easy to change a system.

However, I don't think it's wise to speak ill of the military that you want to join but when they do wrong, it's only good to talk about it the way it is without being hypocritical.

I have been around military Barracks for over a decade. Officers renovate their houses themselves. Even other ranks quarters took ages before they thought it wise to renovate it for them. What I am saying is, there should be benefits for fighting for your country. Is there something like discounts in big malls for the immediate family of these guys. There are things government can implement without spending a dime. Guess what? The ruling class don't care.

I once visited 44 for a health check. Common malaria drugs I was told to buy outside. You know why? Because I went there based on the fact that I am a dependent. So, I didn't pay. That means I don't deserve the drugs but the senior men children will get it.

All in all, I wish you all the best. My younger brother is on this table, we pray for the best.
I only pray for a mutation of mindset among Nigerians. For that's what we need to make this country move forward.

This is coming from a group that has been technically defeated. So sad mennnn.

A captain that went to the NE was telling his friends when he came back that the first thing on their mind is the way NA will deny their dead body if anything happens.

So tell me why you will give your best when you already know how the system will treat you. These ones were probably denied. Na will come out and tell us it's an old picture or even photoshopped.

May their souls rest in peace.
