Very Inspiring story!

Sometimes, we feel sorry for ourselves, then point and lay blames at the feet of the creator or family members, myself inclusive but life has a way of making us realize how fortunate we are and tends to point back the four other fingers at us, do we take the blame?

This story has also continued to encourage me and make me believe, i can do much more, i owe humanity something special through making use of my God given talents and not being lazy...

I hope that we can all share success stories together on here from time to time as well..
BE INSPIRED..

Am not sure were to post this Article, i just it to reach as many people as possible, so please mod this is really inspiring, and i want people to see this.
This is a true story of a young woman who went through the most gruesome fire. When you read her story, you’ll realize that your trials are absolutely nothing compared to what this young girl went through.

It was September 25, 2000. Maricel Apatan was an 11-year old girl in Zamboanga. On that day, this little girl went with her uncle to draw water.

Along the way, four men met them. They were carrying long knives. They told her uncle to face down on the ground, and they hacked him on the neck and killed him.

Maricel was in total shock, especially that the men were their neighbors. She tried to escape, but the men ran after her.

She cried, “Kuya, ‘wag po, ‘wag n’yo akong tagain! Maawa po kayo sa akin!” (“Don’t kill me! Have mercy on me!”)

But they weren’t listening. With a long knife, a man slashed her on the neck too.

Maricel fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

When she woke up, she saw a lot of blood. She also saw the feet of the men around her, but she pretended to be dead.

When they walked away, Maricel ran back home. But along the way, she saw that both her hands were falling off. Because the men hacked them too. She cried but she kept running.

Sometimes, she would faint and fall to the ground. But she’d regain consciousness and run again.

When she was near her home, Maricel called her mother.

Upon seeing her daughter, her mother screamed in terror. She wrapped her bloodied child in a blanket and carried her to the hospital.

Here was the problem: From her house to the highway, it was a 12-kilometer walk. It took them 4 hours just to reach the highway.

When they arrived in the hospital, the doctors thought Maricel was going to die. But for 5 hours, they operated on her. It took 25 stitches to stitch together the long knife wound in her neck and back.

Maricel barely survived. And she lost both of her hands.

Ironically, the next day was Maricel’s birthday. She was 12 years old.

But tragedy didn’t end there. When they went home, they saw their home was gone. It was ransacked and burned down by the goons.

Being very poor, Maricel’s family also didn’t have P50,000 for their hospital bills.

But God sent many angels along the way to help them.

Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, a distant relative, paid for hospital bills and helped them bring the criminals to court. They were sentenced to prison.

Today, she’s staying with the nuns at Regina Rosarii with Sr. Eppie Brasil, O.P.

But this is the incredible miracle. Instead of staying down, Maricel kept running.

Instead of cursing God why she had no hands, she now uses her wrists in incredible ways that will boggle your mind.

Maricel was cited as the most industrious, best in computer, and most courteous in the School for Crippled Children.

In 2008, she graduated from a course in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She even received a Gold medal for Arts and Crafts.

In 2011, she finished her education to be a chef. Yes, a Chef without hands.

Nothing can stop this young lady from reaching her dreams.

Business / How To Write A Business Plan For A New Business? - Marvejohndaily.com by vascable: 5:14pm On Jan 25, 2016
So you have decided to take the leap and start your own business. What is your plan to execute your business idea? Few days back, I had shared some of the basics for starting your own basics. I continue taking you to the basics, because the new ways have also evolved from these. I mentioned documentation is like your oxygen mask. Whenever you feel out of breath, meaning defocussed, refer to your business plan. Here we will discuss how to write a business plan for a new business. Like always, feel free to suggest or add anything relevant.

A business plan essentially means a plan of action to implement certain processes to reach a certain goal, financial or volumetric. You define everything about the business in the business plan. Products, services, sale, revenue, cost of sale, marketing, financial etc. Yes, each and everything should be documented. Office setup, operational setup, marketing plan, things you will need to run and grow your business.
How do I write a simple business plan?

A simple business plan is an idea in your head. When you have a business idea, you write multiple things in your head; thinking about some of the things like market research, process, product flow or anything. You are already developing a business plan in your head. Start writing it down. Become more articulate in your business planning. This will encourage yourself or your team to communicate within and make the planning stage more fun and easy.

A good business plan is never crafted alone, instead you sit with your co-founders, team and discus debate to write down a business plan, that is achievable. Your business plan consists of lots of things, and a good idea is to document it at a very early stage, as it will work as a checklist when your business is live, and you don’t want to lose your focus. One major reasons why start-up fails, is due to lack of a proper plan for their business. If you are not sure, what product is going to be your core product, how you going to market the product, what will be after sales responsibility, and how you will retain the customer, you are 10 steps behind running a successful business.

It doesn’t matter if you are looking to get investment for you business or starting a self-funded business, a well documented business plan is an essential, and you should plan out right now by following below business plan checklist. As a basic structure, we can break the business plan into few headers:

1. SOP – Statement of purpose

((why does my company exist? What is the vision of my company?) – A statement of purpose for a company will be the lighthouse and will define why does the company exist. It’s vision, mission and goals should be put in here. If you have a blog, this is your About Us / Who we are page.

Here are few questions which you should answer yourself:

Why I’m creating this product?
Who needs this product?
How I’m going to reach to potential customers?
Analyze existing competitors, and build something better

2. Product Side (how will I make money?, what do I sell to make money?):

Define your products. What will the company sell? Where will your business make revenue. If you are a blogger, segregate affiliate, AdSense, theme sales revenue. With time you will feel a lot confident and focus on high performing products and improve on the low performing ones. You should make a list of all focus product/services, and mark few as your core product.

Your core product will be strength of your major revenue, and other products will help you to reach your financial goals.

3. Financials(how much money do I need to run a business?):
The cost of everything you use in your business should be defined. I do not mean waste a lot of time finding out prices or costing for each expense but have an approximation to start with.

Office setup (how much capital would you require?)
Operating expense (how much money do you need to run the business?)
Marketing expense (how much money do you need to sell your products?)
Administrative costs (legal paperwork, regulatory paperwork and fees).

These are some of the basic heads from a new business’s financial point of view.

4. Organizational Structure (what is the team structure for my business?):

Even if you are a Solopreneur, write down a role for yourself. When you move from Solopreneurship to Entrepreneurship, you will have a team. In that team, at basic level, your board of directors (simply, people with decision making authority, call them anything based on the regulatory requirement), will become key members. Define roles for each of them.

5. Growth strategy (how will my business grow?):

This will include your marketing plan. A simple marketing plan consists of steps that help you sell or make a brand. Brand awareness and sales are two major goals of a marketing plan. Once you have identified your target market, note down the route you will take to reach your target group. Define channels and make a network of your “marketing strategy”. This will go a long way in giving you faith, power and belief for doing the right thing for the business.

If Social media is going to be part of your marketing strategy (It should), you need to plan out marketing strategy for the same. You need to find ideal social media channel for promotion. If you are a company offering fashion goods, fashion e-commerce site, Pinterest should be your number one target, followed by Facebook, Twitter and other channels.

6. Market Research (how do I know I am entering the right industry?):

Your business plan needs to have the potential market size or number of users who are your target audience as well. Often it is know as Market Sizing. For a blogger, this exercise becomes much each easier with Google Trends and other keyword search tools. You can identify how many people are searching for a service or a product that you want to sell. If it’s a new product, it must have evolved at some level. How has the consumer behavior changed since then? You need to understand and put it in your business plan. This will be your key for research and innovation in later stages.

I always emphasize on setting up a business as soon as you can, but one should always remember to put a simple business plan in writing. Even if you were to pitch to investors or clients, you need clarity in your head. If you continue writing the plan in your head, clarity will stay much away. Document the business plan and stick to it.

This is a standard format of writing a business plan, and if you include something else apart from above, I would love to know that too. This article is a part of our starting a business series, and if you have more questions related to your business, do let me know via comments. If you find this article useful, do consider sharing it on Facebook & Twitter.

Blogging is a habit which once made will not be easy to Quit. Because apart from making money online you can also make Good Relations with the other Bloggers, not from your country but also can explore the whole World. Being a Blogger itself is a proud feeling because only a few people in the world have the writing skill. You can learn the tactics of Blogging from your daily life activities even, like while watching wrestling or watching movies. Recently I came across my two years old nephew, after observing his daily life activities I was amazed that what I can learn from this. Here is the list that I learnt from him.
1. Never Complain

Have you ever noticed a two-year-old child? He’ll never complain. The only thing he/she can do it is either laugh or cry. The same thing we can do in our life that we can take all our responsibilities on our shoulders. So that we can never complain about anybody that just because of you I am unsuccessful in Blogging. Friends no one is going to feed you with the spoon, all you have to do is just your own. So be a responsible person and keep concentrating on your Goal.
2. One Target

A two-year-old child has one target, once he/she asked for anything then what so ever or, however, he/she just need the thing. When you started Blogging what was your target and what was your dream just keep them in front of your eyes all the time. You remember the tale when Guru Dronacharaya asked Arjun what he was seeing when he ordered him for the Target. Arjun answered, “The only thing I am seeing is the sparrow’s eye.” The same thing is also suitable for the blogging.

3. Affection for Mother

A child has too much affection for the Mother, even he/she can feel her touch or with her voice. The same affection will have made for your Blog. You will have to love you blog if you want to succeed in life. Blogging is all about madness and passion and the only person succeed in this who have the Passion, not the Tension.
4. Fix Timing

A Child has fix timing for getting up early in the Morning, Taking food at a time and then going Bed at the fixed time even you can notice this thing. If you don’t have time for your Blog, then you are not going to make any Miracle, which you were thinking at the start of Blogging. This is all about keep doing the same thing daily and daily and daily and finally become the perfectionist of any Field. There is one good saying.

“It’s better to do small thing DAILY rather than planning BIG things occasionally.”

5. No Worries

A Small Child doesn’t have any worries like when to eat or how to eat etc. You should also not have any worries either you are earning from your blog or not. It has been proved in a study that most of the new bloggers QUIT in the first 90 days of Blogging.

When they see that no money is coming from the blog they just decide to QUIT blogging because QUITTING is a very easier thing. But my principal of life says –

“WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN.”

When done right, entrepreneurship can offer you limitless possibilities. We are all familiar with the modern day rags to riches stories of entrepreneurs being propelled from the bedroom to the boardroom. However, there is another side of entrepreneurship that tells the tale of misfortune and failure! As entrepreneurs we start our ventures with a lot of hope and aspirations.

For one reason, or another, those hopes don’t materialize. So why is it that some businesses make it to the list of Fortune 500 companies, and others fail?

There are numerous reasons why businesses fail. Here are 10 common causes of business failure, and hopefully these bits of insight will show you how to avoid business failure:

1. Being driven by survival instinct:
When entering a particular field of business, we all aim to survive and make and make an impact. However, making survival a goal is not going to bring out the best in you. Rather, you should focus on adding value. If your only objective is to seek money, and you care less about creating and adding value, your dreams of being successful may quickly fade away.

In today’s overly competitive business world, every entrepreneur must focus on offering innovative products and services to its customers. Profits will follow eventually once they are able to cater to their customers/clients successfully.

“Profit in business comes from repeat customers; customers that boast about your product and service, and that bring friends with them.” – W. Edwards Deming

2. Having inadequate business knowledge:
Knowledge is the key to success. An entrepreneur, who does not feel the need to upgrade their business knowledge, is clearly comfortable standing still, and not concerned about moving forward. Something new is happening every day in the business world, and being up-to-date is absolutely crucial. Contrary to what many people believe, a successful business cannot be quantified by just profit. The value you add to this dynamic world is also a significant measure of business success.

3. Having no focus:
Being a jack-of-all-trades but master of none can be detrimental as an entrepreneur. If you focus your energy and concentration on multiple things at a time, you may not be able to achieve excellence in anything, and in the end, you could be damaging the competitive advantage of your business. Instead, you should channel your efforts into maximising your strengths, and find people around you to support your weaknesses.

4. Being afraid of failure:
Okay, failure in business is quite common, but it is something that we are all afraid of, but you cannot let your fear prevent you from taking risks. After all, being an entrepreneur is almost synonymous to being a risk taker, right? Instead of letting your fear hold you back, you should let your passion and creativity drive you. Remember that the death of fear is only possible when you dare to do the thing that you are most afraid to do.

5. Having no vision:
Entrepreneurs are people who tend to poses great vision and creativity. Being shortsighted as entrepreneur can be costly. Although short-term goals help us stay motivated, but having a long-term vision is crucial. If you want to make a difference with your project, you would have to start thinking into the future. You need to think about how you can do something today that will leave an impact even in the future.

6. Not being resourceful:
As entrepreneur, you have to find creative ways to do more with less. With the limited resources that you have available at the start of your venture, you cannot afford to be flamboyant or wasteful. To be successful in your entrepreneurial journey, you need to learn to climb up the ladder of success by being resourceful and frugal.

It’s one thing to have a great idea, but the great test is being able to find creative and effective ways to successfully execute that idea.

7. Being over confident:
Confidence can help you achieve great things, but over-confidence can sometimes ruin it for you. A person, all by himself, may not be able to achieve all that he wants. Teamwork is extremely important, especially when it comes to running a company. You cannot move ahead unless you know how to empower the team that is working with you towards the same goal.

8. Failing to listen to customers:
The fate of a business lies at the hands of the customer. If you can’t cater to their needs, you have no business. In order to understand your target customers better, you need to give them a platform where they can directly interact with you. Also, remember to pay attention to their feedback. While positive feedback will encourage you to do better, negative feedback will tell you where you need to improve.

“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.” – Bill Gates

9. Ignoring online marketing:
In today’s age of digital marketing and social media, you cannot overlook online marketing. This goes even for businesses that do not offer their products online. Yes, even if you own an offline business, having a strong online presence will help you reach potential customers who may not be aware of your existence. You will be missing out on a lot of potential growth if you ignore online marketing.

10. Failing to adapt with the changing business market:
As mentioned before, the business world is constantly evolving at a rapid pace. If your business strategies are working today, there is no guarantee that they will provide the same results tomorrow. As the dynamics of the industry change, you will have to change your business model accordingly. Businesses that fail to evolve, ultimately fail, as they eventually become outdated and irrelevant.

Am sure you will find topic on NL that will walk you through, this post is just to list them for you, you now pick a niche and research on it before going into it.
We all dream of being financially stable and earning good money, but there are circumstances that often stand in the way of this goal. Maybe it’s the shortage of employment opportunities and lack of job security, or maybe your startup isn’t generating the type of money you initially anticipated. Whatever your situation is, currently, there is a growing need for us to consider and create multiple streams of income.

The only problem is finding the extra time from your already jam-packed schedule. Perhaps you have a family to look after or you spend your spare time studying and developing yourself, which is no small feat. So, what’s the solution?

The Internet has emerged as an inseparable part of businesses globally. There are a myriad of legitimate money making options available online to earn extra leisurely from your home. The more you work, the more you earn! The most striking feature is you can do a number of activities simultaneously, rather than sticking to one career option. If you are a Nigerian citizen and planning to launch a startup business in Nigeria, here are some profitable Nigerian business ideas that can help you realise your dreams.
10 Guaranteed Ways to Make Money from Home:-

1. Create a Blog: Writing a blog is one of the most lucrative ways to generate income, especially if you are a passionate about writing, and have a mind full of ideas. Choose a subject that appeals to you as an audience and jot down your blog ideas. Creating a blog doesn’t require much technical knowledge and once you refine your skills, your occasional visitors will become dedicated followers. Penning down blogs that suit the current trends or burning issues can captivates attention. The popularity of your blog will ultimately attract various advertisements that generate money, or create leads that can generate new business opportunities.

2. Freelance Writing: Building and maintaining a blog requires frequent time and attention, and you may have to be patient before that money starts rolling in. If this is the case, you should consider freelance article writing for other bloggers and publications to increase your income streams, or to promote your blog.

Big and small enterprises are also keen on hiring ardent writers to promote their goods and services on the Internet and various social media platforms. The companies tend to award articles based on a specific topic that will incorporate keywords associated to the product that they are promoting.

In addition, you could be employed as a freelance copywriter in Nigeria if you have good language skills.

3. Affiliate Marketing: If you know how to sell, you can rake in big money being an affiliate marketer. Affiliate marketing is selling the products and services of a business on Internet websites for money in Nigeria. An affiliate marketer is a helper that leverages the advertising campaign of a business either on his personal website or using other sites such as EBay. You are not the owner of the product, but an Internet marketer. It is the most lucrative method of generating surpluses.

4. E-tuitions: Specialist knowledge is at a premium these days, and mainstream education cannot fill this niche gap. In such circumstances, the trend for e-tuition and webinars builds momentum, and fill this gap. If you are adept in any subject, you can squeeze in a few hours per week to teach students using online mediums. All you need to do is create an account on several teaching portals, or design your personal site or blog so that they have the capabilities to host these teaching sessions. Webinars are becoming popular amongst university students, and industry specialists who prefer studying from home, and want to keep up to date with any new trends. In this way, you can pocket big gains.

5. Domains: Trading or flipping domain names are other ways of generating income. You can buy domain names by paying modestly to register a desirable name. You must carry out comprehensive research, and anticipate what website names people will actually want to pay you for. Domain names are sold and bought for plenty of reasons. If you know the techniques, then selling domain names can fetch you a handsome profit. Selling domain names having great marketing value and a ringing reputation will be extremely beneficial.

6. Support services: If you are tech-savvy, you can get paid for fixing web issues or any technical snags that webmasters face at regular intervals. You can offer support services for creating, maintaining and updating a website or repairing any technical issues that may occur in the future.

7. Mobile Apps: Smartphones now play a big part in our everyday lives and this doesn’t look likely to change. How useful is a smartphone without its apps? Not very! So why not develop and sell mobile applications and earn fast money. If you are a tech geek, well versed with technical know-how, you can create some fun apps for businesses worldwide. In order to strengthen the online presence among cell phone users, companies look worldwide for tech geeks to create effective apps for them.

8. Freelance Research: Spending a few hours a day to carry out research work for companies can produce a great deal of income. You get to enjoy the comfort of your home and earn money by providing crucial information to businesses at their request. A freelance researcher can be highly valuable to a company, so there is a great chance you can be re-hired for multiple projects if you do a great job. Payment is generally made on a project basis. If you provide wide-ranging information, you can make big money in a couple of days.

9. Transcription: Transcription can boost your chances of moneymaking, especially medical transcription in Nigeria. Transcribing oral medical prescriptions into written copies is difficult. If you know medical terminology, then doing this job can be extremely profitable. No just medical, today transcribers are required in almost every field you can count.

10. Social Media Marketing: These days, companies prefer carrying out intense marketing campaigns on social media due to an astonishing consumer presence on these sites. Facebook and Twitter have evolved as new destinations for marketers to bang the drum for the products and services that they are trying to push. It is the process of influencing customers through social media sites. If you have the knack for it, you can earn some good money. The hours you work will be flexible, but the deadlines and targets will be fairly rigid.
