@Gratefulme40,you can apply for dependent visa in US once your baby gets his/her passport.Once the birth certificate is out,you should get both Nigerian and US passport then apply for dependent visa using priority service.

@Lexus430,thanks bro for your time.

Plan is,£5,700 for deposit then 4K personal loan from bank for financing @7.6% for only 2 years.
Another option is go for 2008 model @50k miles for £6k outright purchase.
Intention is to use the car for 5 years then sell off.Which of the 2 do you think will command higher resellable value?
Thanks once again for your time.

Misrepresentation according to IRCC is withholding any material information that would have aided a VO in making decision whether to issue visa or not and in this case, the applicant misrepresented by not divulging birthing as purpose of visit.
A lot of people encouraged this in this thread by not declaring childbirth in visa application until they get to POE.This same shady attitude made US to be high handed for birthing visa applications from Nigeria. We always want short cut to everything yet we complain of how bad Nigeria is.Applications are assessed differently, that Mrs A lied and got away with it does not mean that Same will work for Mrs B.

Travel / Re: Americans Will Need Visa To Enter Europe By 2021 by veleta: 10:59pm On Mar 11, 2019
Most Americans not travelling to Europe/UK for vacation is basically because of distance and cost of air ticket.Same thing applies to Brits too, majority of their vacations are in Europe because of proximity.Just very few rich and adventurous amongst them go to North America and Asia for vacation.

There is no doubt there is mass exodus of doctors from Nigeria but that figure is not possible for Plab 1 exam in Nigeria.Remember, plab 1 is not like plab 2 that you write on different dates.Plab 1 is done once and there is no venue that will accommodate more than 6k people.

A shocking news from Nigeria...........

PLAB 1 exams in March 2019, we have 6240 Doctors booked for this exam.....

I say no more..........

@Lexus430,GMC yesterday refuted that figure,I think it's actually 750 .I knew that 6240 was exaggerated.

On this discount ish, most of these VO's don't seem to understand how these things works.First off, those of them saying they paid 30k or thereabouts failed to mention that their insurance companies took care of that and most times, these insurance companies negotiate these fees to the barest minimum and most times times,it takes time for them to pay.Its common sense that these hospitals would prefer self pay patients as they get their money immediately. These same discounts they give to self pay patient is what insurance companies end up paying after quoting outrageous bills.

My advice will be when requesting cost of delivery from hospital, insist that it should be included that whatever fee they are charging is for self pay and that you reject any form of medical assistance. Also make sure you sign it,with that your argument when going for visa renewal will hold water.

The plain truth is America is not as stupid as we think.Look at it this way, even if you are a US citizen, you must have resided at least 1 year in that state to claim instate tuition in most of the states, woe betide you if you live outside US,you have FACTA on your head,it's so bad that some banks once they know you are US citizen, they will decline opening an account for you because of IRS.You will still hire an accountant to be filling your annual tax return if you are non resident which is insane. Its only US and Eritrea that requires non residents to be filling annual tax return in the country they reside in.Last but not the least,a child who is a US citizen can't even file for the parents till 21.

If you apply for remark, you submit your TRF and is locked,in other words, you can't use it till the remark is done then another TRF will be reissued if there is an upgrade in any of the modules.

I think it’s better to write plan and apply for express entry at the same time. I know someone who did this. His PPR came first and then he left for Canada. He passed his Plab not too long after and is now working in the UK. He plans to go back to Canada once done with all the training and any other necessary requirements.

The problem with this option you mentioned is maintaining residency requirement for permanent residence renewal, remember you must have lived for at least 2 years out of 5 years for you to be able to do that.Studying or working outside Canada is not an excuse for not meeting residency requirements and IRCC and CBSA have all details of one's entry and exit to Canada. I know a guy that got his PR early and is training in UK but plans to use an immigration lawyer to argue his case on compassionate ground though his family plans moving back to Canada before he finishes his training. The key here is timing.

@Joo18,all the best to your folks.I will advise they try to network properly, there are watsapp groups for that.I know there are ' notes' you need to read and they repeat questions that's for PLAB 1 then for PLAB 2,there are courses you need to attend in UK too that increases ones chances of passing. Its all aboutinformation.God luck to them.

Fair enough.

It doesn't however contradict my statement.

The shortage is politically motivated and is not due to availability of doctors willing to practice in the UK.

UK PLAB exams no be here and competing for residency slots is high.

Ireland residency is also accepted. I wonder why no one talks about it.

You might not be abreast of what is happening in terms of residency in Family Medicine in U.K,many residency slots have been left unfilled for couple of years now. This is fact and not hearsay. Some guys in Ireland are coming to UK to train because of ease of vacancies.

Let me chip in a piece of advice for doctors planning to migrate to Canada,Canada is not your best choice if you really want to continue practising.UK is better as you have the opportunity of practising both in Canada and Australia if you do residency training in Family Medicine in UK.

All you need to do is write PLAB and within 6 to 9 months, you should be done with it then you can apply for Trust Grade jobs which are readily available.Once you start working, you can sit for residency exams in Family Medicine and if you pass, you can start your training. If you are lucky, you can even get a bursary of £12.5k after tax for training in some areas. While training, you can apply for Express Entry and this gives you the opportunity of practising in Canada as a Family Physician or moving to Australia and practising as a GP too.Right now,Australia seems to have more perks in terms of pay and weather compared to Canada.

All the best in your pursuit but always look at the long term when making these decisions.

Good evening house, I and my wife just opened an account with ICES, I want to confirm do I need to make payment for the evaluation before sending my transcript or do I need to send the transcript first before paying for the evaluation. And please whats the email address I will send it to. Asking please

Get your transcript ready first then create ICES account, make payment then send your school the reference no so they can add it as subject of the email before sending to ICES.Remember it's your school's official email adress.

This is the ICES email address:icesinfo@bcit.ca.I would advise you go through ICES website for a more detailed process for the application. Its for your own good
