The average and innocent shareholder is supposed to be really peeved by this sad development but I notice in that second picture that it is the president of Nigeria's stockbrokers association that is having a handshake and a broad smile with this manipulator.

We are finished!!!

Why are we  arguing about a tiny nomanclaturie like this. All we want is gas; even if they call Ni-arse.
OK lets face it: even if they pronounce it niggers: so bloody what ? Are our so-called leaders any better?

Useless fools!
Hunger strike my foot.
Assuming the oil wells were illegally ceded to Akwa Ibom (which is not the case, from what I gather), so these pot-bellied clowns would have preferred Camorroun take them than their felow brothers in Akwa Ibom. Shame on them all!
Autos / Re: Use Your Cell Phone To Control Your Car by VIPICO(m): 6:35pm On Apr 15, 2009
I would like to advise that when we come across new techs. like this either through internet or wherever, we should take time to imbibe the principle of operation fully. Its no use rushing for the money when u cant even properly explain the concept to your prospective customers' satisfaction. The money will pour in like rain if you are proficient in what u are doing. Lets learn to think of money last and the reward would be unbelievable.

Just my thought, though.
Autos / Re: Use Your Cell Phone To Control Your Car by VIPICO(m): 6:27pm On Apr 15, 2009
If what the seller here means is that you can only detect the presence of ur car within a radius of 300m max, then its not really worth it. How could you ecpect somebody to steal your car and hang around within a distance of three football fields in total length.  P-l-e-a-s-e!

@VIPCO

You know I always laugh when I read such posts as yours.

You claimed to be inundated with excessive demands for money.

Ha! Eyin omo adamo e de beru olorun! Why do u people lie?

How come nobody inundated me with such demands? The church ofcourse has a number of programmes with partnership opportunities (opportunities underscored!) You think you were doing the church a hard favour by giving money for these programmes? What a soul! o ma se o.

Hmmm may be they also made ''these excessive demands for money'' at gunpoint?

It's obvious we unsettle the kingdom of darkness. Eyah.

Business / Re: GT Bank And Arbitrary Charges: 2500 Naira For A Letter! by VIPICO(m): 5:09pm On Apr 14, 2009
Intercontinental Bank charged me the same amount for the same purpose and N3500 for conducting a search for my company name. I just think these charges are outrageous
Religion / Re: South Africans Vow To Sack Christ Embassy by VIPICO(m): 4:17pm On Apr 09, 2009
My people there is nothing to counter in this post.
I personally saw things for myself. I attended the church a couple of times and all I was inundated with was excessive demands for money under scores of titles. I had since stopped going there and when they are tired of calling my number they will stop.

I also got pissed by the unnecessarily exorbitant prices of his media materials: VCD, DVD and books. Methinks that man is just out for money and materialism. Pure and simple.
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by VIPICO(m): 2:54pm On Mar 21, 2009
I also got admitted. The next thing to do now is to wait till the upload the Admission letter on the site then we can download, fill it and then submit.
I,m actually at a loss as to why it's taking this long.
Business / Re: Intercontinental Bank Has Become Useless by VIPICO(m): 2:10pm On Mar 21, 2009
My take on all these is that the CBN should regularise charges made by these banks and make them well known to the public. If it's indeed true that these banks are allowed to charge the customer arbitrarily, then there's something terribly wrong with our banking system against all the loud-mouthing of Soludo.

I personally had this experience with Intercontinental bank: I opened a coporate account with them last year and when i went back some months later to make some withdrawal, I learnt that I was charged N3500.00 for merely conducting a search of my business name and another N2500 for writing a reference letter for me.

I'm still very curious to know if these charges are lower for other banks.

Serves the ugly baboon right. I hope those in office now are watching. What goes around comes around. The one in Asshole rock right now can go ahead and play politics with Nigerians even with the obviously crooked electoral system that he promised to fix right from the day he was being sworn in. He can go ahead and play the absentee and ailing president for as long as he decides to govern, but one day he will leave that seat,
The world is watching
Business / Re: I Want To Improve In My Cyber-cafe Business by VIPICO(m): 5:22pm On Jan 28, 2009

Hi VIPICO,

Inorder to deploy a wireless hotspot, you'll need a wireless router and a hotspot timer. Also someone technically savvy should deploy this for you if you don't know what to do. It'll be worth the amount especially if you don't know what to do.

However you can use the Mikrotik Router OS which has a built-in Hotspot timer. Mikrotik is rugged, stable and easy to deploy. It works on a Linux platform. You can read more about Mikrotik at www.mikrotik.com I've been using and deploying Mikrotik for people and haven't had complaints that aren't easily solved.

In terms of WiFi hotspot and WiMax; A WiFi hotspot has a lower coverage area (i.e. your office building and a few offices/houses near you) than a WiMax which has a larger range and would extend to cover long distances (deployed strategically, WiMax can cover a particular city). It is just a matter of funds to buy the WiMax equipment, deploy and have a timer to use for your clients.

I hope this helps.

wow! t_hanz,
You're the man. Can u further fill me in on the estimated cost of these equipments. I have a friend in Canada who has been trying to get me this hotspot equipments. But am a bit hesitant since i do not have much know-how about the whole thing. thanx , man
Business / Re: I Want To Improve In My Cyber-cafe Business by VIPICO(m): 6:56pm On Jan 22, 2009
t_hanz:

The ideal thing for any cafe this era is to include wireless hotspots, and if possible WiMax. You'll not be limited to give service in your area only but other areas.[color=#990000]

Most importantly, make sure you have the right ISP that'll provide uninterrupted service for a full 30day period. This will help boost your credibility before your customers. They don't know your ISP, they know you. So if anything goes wrong, you'll take the heat.

One other thing,  being technically sound is very ideal or you get a trusted person who is. This is because most problems are internal but we cafe owners have gotten used to blaming ISPs once there's a small glitch without checking our own end thoroughly. This is where bandwidth managers/monitors come in handy.

Please note: I, personally, don't trust any Nigerian ISP for now because I've dealt with some and was SERIOUSLY disappointed. The speed could be very ok but the downtimes are just too much.

I remember one bitter experience (4years ago) where our cafe went down in the early hours of the morning (b/w 8am & 10am). I called my 9ja ISP then to inquire about the problem and to my utter shock someone told me they were trying to rearrange the office and had to shut the equipment down. Can you imagine,  I had customers waiting in line while my ISP was busy managing its customers from and office where they can be switched off and on at will like NEPA (PHCN).

Most foreign ISPs are great. They give you what you want, when you want but they want their payments on time too.

t_hanz, how can one facilitate the point you raised here which i highlighted in red?
Computers / Re: How Can We Make A Cybercafe Gain More Money by VIPICO(m): 6:52pm On Jan 22, 2009
tundecraig:

The cold hard truth is that no matter what you do or don't do the income of a cyber cafe is limited to the number of hours in a day and you can never have more than 24 hours  a day.
Thus if you have 20 computers in your cafe and you charge N100 per hour, all you can make is N48,000 in a day and the reality of course is that you will most likely NEVER make that as there will always be times when a computer or the other is free even if you open 24 hours  a day, 7 days a week.
Most Cafe's close shop after their first year  in operation. Very few stay open for up to 5 years and I  do not know ANY cyber cafe that was operating in 2003 that is still operating (I may be wrong).
There is lots of cashflow in cyber cafe business, but very little profit.
The are only two ways out:

1) Customise your browsing services
2) Add other services such that browsing pulls in less than 5% of your income. Services like Training, E-Commerce services, Web Hosting & Development, Computer Sales, Ebay services, Information products distribution, Online & Merchant Payment services.

Nice perspective here tunde. Nice one.

Phones / Re: New Exciting Service From Zain Called "Tru Cal & Tru Txt" by VIPICO(m): 3:47pm On Sep 24, 2008
This whole thing is a huge joke! As at now they are still charging 66k/sec as against the 21k/sec they promised, after you have migrated to Tru. And believe me when I say I have tried for at least 25 times yet no luck.

So those on this forum who are so quick to abuse other posters, have you been any successful?
Phones / Zain's Tru Package Is A Scam! by VIPICO(m): 6:08pm On Sep 22, 2008
Has anybody been able to migarte to Zain latest hype of TRU?
I havent had any luck since I 've been trying.

They say *141*708# is for TRU talk  while *141*709# is for TRU text. But as far as am concerned this thing is not working; even if you recharge the 100 naira and 50 naira respectively as they said.  I even had like 1000 naira yet no dice.

Something tells me they are playing their usual pranks with us again.

Thanks Abdul,

Very salients points u just touched here. I have actually been visiting the study centre here in Port Harcourt where I base and done a lot of enquiring. What u said are very much in line with what I have been told too.

I still have one issue- a personal one, though: Your course CommTech, when I scanned through the course content, it seems to me that there is a lot of Maths involved. Is that the case?

I'm actually torn between that course and Entrepreneurship/Small Biz Mgt.

Ok thats nice.
To what extent can you vouch for the authenticity and credibility of the school?
Recently I was contemplating buying the registration form but a friend of mine is discouraging me seriously. His argument is that, like anything Nigerian, the whole programme could be a sham that would end in some kind of fiasco and gnashing of teeth for the poor students.
He was asking me whether I have seen anybody with a degree or cert. from the school, and even if they offer degrees that are acknowledged by NUC, are the employers honouring those degrees?
I'm really in some form of dilemma now concerning this.

Pls I would appreciate if u could throw some more light on these issues
